I went to Meta Beauty salon on East State street and…read moreseen Derek Louis I spent 9 HOURS in a salon chair and paid $311, only to walk out with a chopped-up haircut and thick, chunky, honey-yellow front pieces -- when I specifically asked for thin, cool-toned money pieces. The result was completely off from what I showed and asked for. What makes this even more disappointing is that I've gotten my hair done by him before -- a haircut that came out beautiful. I even referred a client to him, and she brought her daughters to get their hair done too. So this isn't coming from a place of disrespect at all. Maybe he had a bad day -- I understand we're all human -- but accountability still matters. I messaged him directly to handle this professionally before making any kind of post or reaching out to the salon. Instead of taking responsibility, he told me it only looked different because of the "warm lighting" in the salon -- completely gaslighting me. During the service, he admitted he lightened my hair wrong "like a rookie" and had to redo it. He toned it, rinsed it out too early, and used more product to fix his own mistakes. Now I'm being told I used $88 worth of product -- but how is it fair that I'm being charged for his errors? I also made it clear beforehand that if the service needed to be done in two sessions, that was totally fine with me. He said, "No, I can do it in this session." Don't promise something you can't deliver -- clients trust your word. He offered to fix it, but I no longer feel comfortable sitting in his chair again. Why should I risk more damage and waste more time when I never got what I paid for in the first place? As for a refund -- I was given only $50 back, which is what I paid on card. The rest was in cash. At checkout, I was also told that the tip was already included in the price, so it's not like I was holding back generosity. A reasonable refund is the bare minimum. Clients deserve honesty, quality, and accountability -- not excuses. The pictures speak for themselves.

I booked at Xeno with Laura and she did a awesome job, the best part was I payed way less then I'm use to, she was fast (I hate sitting there for hours) and I love my color and cut. I totaly recommend her, The other customers getting thier hair done seemed to be return customers (over hearing conversations) which to me is a great sign that the others are good at there Job too.
