Dr Nguyen along with Nick took me in during these tough times (04/02/2020) Pandemic. I broke my tooth and called and left a message. Within minutes Nick called me back and made me an appointment he following day. From when I arrived to sitting in the chair, they made me feel comfortable. What was amazing is that they went to work right away and saved my tooth as well as did the cap in house. Truly remarkable to see how advanced Dr Nguyen is along with his staff. WARNING. There are plenty of other dentists in the area which are more kind, compassionate, and competent. No need to go here. This dentist is unethical, unprofessional, uncaring, and incompetent. And frankly, this person displays many of the same characteristics as other people I know who have Narcissistic Personality Disorder. This dentist is unethical, because he charged me for a follow-up procedure to fix his own work. Hid did the crown. The bite was off. He charged me to fix it. What that means is there is no guarantee of the quality of his work. What an astonishingly greedy and unethical thing to do to charge someone who is simply seeking relief from a medical procedure that you are responsible for performing competently. Granted, I went back five times to get my crown adjusted, but that leads me into the next point. This dentist is incompetent, because what kind of dentist needs five visits to fix a bite? Plus, he told me he intentionally adjusted my bite in the original procedure but then for some reason refused to believe me afterwards when I told him the bite was off. It's like he couldn't be wrong. Why would I lie about the bite being off? The evidence supporting the fact that the bite was off is the fact I went to another dentist, who didn't argue with me but who cooperated with me, who did adjust the bite and now the problem is fixed. You can only be incompetent if the patient sees you five times for the same thing and you still don't fix it. This dentist is uncaring, because he has no capacity to feel empathy. He doesn't care about you, and he doesn't care if you are in discomfort. Each time in five visits I went in to fix the same procedure he acted put-off. He actually blamed me. For what? I don't know, but I certainly knew it was not my fault that the bite was high. He only cares about being right, not about the patient. His actions have a clear message: visiting him is inconvenient. So take note people, he doesn't care about you. This dentist is unprofessional, because he doesn't listen, he doesn't display a caring demeanor, he doesn't guarantee his work and he is not concerned at all about the quality of your experience. You don't receive compassionate care here as you would expect and want from a medical professional. It's not professional if, when you have made an error, you can't accept responsibility and fix it. Finally, I don't understand how any good person could work in this office and continue to be a part of this unethical business. You knowingly charge people who are simply seeking relief from a procedure done in your office? As if we are abusing your services and you must punish us to come in? Wow. How do you sleep at night? If being a party to taking advantage of people while they are in your care is okay with you then you have greater problems than poor reviews on social media. [I have even gone so far as to report this dentist to the appropriate city, county and state officials, as well as several professional organizations outlining in detail how unprofessional, incompetent and unethical this establishment is. I love my dentist!! I moved to Laguna Beach and still make the trek to see Dr. Nguyen! I actually chipped a tooth, and he was able to see me the next day. My new favorite dentist office in the entire world! I haven't seen a dentist in a little bit and thought it's more than time to at least get a thorough cleaning in; also already thinking I might have a cavity... From my first contact with the office on the phone, to the time I walked in, through the entire treatment, until I stepped out of the door - everybody was so nice. The atmosphere was calm and positive. I got the cleaning right away (which was not painful whatsoever!) and will have to get 2 cavities taken care of. Nothing was pushed upon me; I never felt pressured. Dr Nguyen basically showed me "some issues" and gave me options (from cheap over medium to expensive) with all the pros and cons. For a vein person like me: those issues ARE REAL and worth a thorough consideration. Overall, a very professional, positive and pain free experience. read more

This is way over due, but I love this office! I've been coming here for a couple of years now and there's no other dental office I want to go to. Previously I've had dentists tell me my teeth were going to fall out if I didn't have all these procedures and I've had numerous gum surgeries, but after seeing Dr. Nguyen I finally feel I am in honest hands. If I can take off that one star or go minus star, I would do it happily. The clinic is clean the staff are good and kind, but dr Nguyen, is a MONEY SUCKER! Watch out, he would create problems in your mouth just to charge you money! He is a general dentist, Yet, he convinced me that he can do a root canal BUT first he needs to make a 3D imaging for the tooth, when I already had a tons of X-Rays. He insisted to see the 3D image so he charged me $250 for the image, then I ended up going to a root canal specialist. When I told the root canal specialist about the 3D image she was shocked to hear that! That's when I knew he created those loops to make more money! When he could have just referred me to a specialist instead and save me that 3D image cost. My advice to you all is avoid dealing with Dr Nguyen you will go bankruptcy in a short period of a time. He won't cooperate with the patient, instead he will tell lies to convince you to have more procedures, x-rays, 3D images, unfortunately all for his own benefit just to steal your money! The woman who runs the front office found out I had a before and would text me about appointments so that I could multitask without waking baby. Very efficient office filled with very kind people from the first contact and including the Dentist. They were on top of everything to make sure my appt ran smoothly ( incl. my insurance ) they have the very latest in technology - to refine their diagnosis which allows for the very best service and outcome which is so appreciated, you only have one set of original teeth! I found Dentist Ngyuen and looked at the reviews and decided to give him a shot. Well I was able to get a same day appointment not only that they extracted the tooth that same day too!!! I was a patient of Dr. Yan for decades, and Dr. Nguyen is definitely a good dentist. I have no complaints about the treatments I have received from him. My problem is with the general attitude of the office. Since Dr. Nguyen took over, at every visit the staff has tried to sell me something extra, from ridiculously priced toothbrushes to treatments. But my experience this week did me in. I had an appointment on Tuesday afternoon but woke up very ill that morning with what turned out to be a severe respiratory infection. I could barely function. I called the office early to cancel. The woman on the phone tried to talk me into coming anyway, saying it would be OK because they wear masks and gloves. She obviously didn't care at all about my comfort (can you imagine someone working in your mouth when you're having difficulty breathing?) or about the other patients I would come in contact with and potentially infect. When I refused to come in, she quite huffily told me that there would be a cancellation fee. I no longer believe that the well-being of patients is the #1 priority of this office. Time to find a new dentist. read more

Everyone at this office has it together. I had some great dentists. I mistakenly thought they were all great and interchangeable. Then I moved to Sierra Madre and just picked a random dentist. Mistake. I went to a second dentist. Mistake. Either they messed up my insurance information, or they would have me waiting in the waiting room long after my appointment should have started, or had crazy hours that couldn't accommodate my work schedule, or were brusque, or took an insanely long time to just do a cleaning. But not this place. Their office manager does a great job of making the appointments and dealing with the insurance. She she sends email and text reminders. I always get seen within ten minutes (usually less) of my appointment time. I can always make an after work appointment. The dental hygienists are quick, thorough, and super friendly. I found Dr. Nguyen to be very friendly, clear, and available. This place just seems well run. read more
