We love Dr. Julian & his staff. Unfortunately, we dont go to this office as often because now we live further away. We started going to Comfort Dental for about ten years now (since he was located in Pasadena). Honestly, Dr. Julian is a doctor you can TRUST 100%. It is very hard to find honest dentist and trust them. He is so kind, listens to your needs, and is always willing to help. Besides, he does an amazing job! The staff have been working there since I started going there or prior. This means that they are a great team and enjoy working there. These girls are amazing as well. Office, is always detail cleaned. Since my health insurance changed, now I have to pay out of pocket. As much as it is hard to pay out of pocket, it is so worth it. My dentist had retired in 2022 and another took over his patients. While the new dentist and his staff were very good, I didn't care for their insurance billing process and their prices seemed on the high side. I decided to check out Comfort Dental because it's right around the corner from me and had good Yelp reviews. The office is bright and has a beach life vibe. Dr. Nguyen and his team are helpful and friendly. In fact, I did learn a couple of things from Dr. Nguyen. I had to make an emergency appt for tooth pain in my back molar and from the moment I called I received the absolute best customer service. I was able to get an appt within 2 days of calling (would have been sooner if not for my work schedule). I showed up and was greeted by a very friendly and helpful office administrator. My appt resulted in having to have a tooth extracted. I'm a huge wimp, and I can honestly say Dr Nguyen and the hygienist found a way to make the whole gory process almost entirely painless. I barely even felt the Novocaine injection which was incredible. All things considered, this was the best experience I could have had for a totally broken and infected tooth. Dr. Nguyen is amazing. I have serious trauma from going to the dentist as a kid. My dentist then would work on my teeth when i wasn't quite numb and he never really hit the nerve correctly to numb me all the way. As a consequence, i have high anxiety about going to the dentist. I found Dr. Nguyen about 5-6 years ago and have been going ever since. I know it sounds weird, but i look forward to going to him. I know that i won't be overcharged or told i need something when i don't. He's compassionate and caring, thorough and really cares. He ALWAYS numbs the nerve and is surprisingly fast! The last time i was there, he filled my filling in 3 songs. (He also lets me listen to my headphones when he uses the drill, which i REALLY appreciate as it helps with my anxiety.) The staff in the office is amazing too! Macy always finds a way to fit me into the schedule and is so pleasant every time. I recently moved and i now travel 2300 miles to continue to see him. First time going the doctor is good concerned about his patient and trying to do something to make it affordable , but the last visit only proved he was only concerned about him, I was to get an impression then on my next visit remove my 2 front teeth then get the partial in place of the removed teeth, I get there and was told he was removing the teeth before having the partial made he then compared me with another person saying it had to be done this way because another patient had the same bite as me he did her impressions then they didn't fit he lost 300.00. My mom had the same exact cancer that another family member has my mom died the other family member still living people can't be compared to no one is the same as another. Went to my 1st appointment at Brar family dentist April 4th I didn't leave without temporaries in my front teeth everything was done in office same day. Well, it's 7 years later! Yes, I've been going to The.Best.Dentist.In.Pasadena. for 7 years now. (see my 2013 review) and I just got back from seeing Dr. Nguyen, Macy, Rossy (Rosie) and Christie (?) after having my appointment delayed for 2 months due to the L.A. lockdown! I felt extremely safe since the office is following all recommended safety guidelines. Teeth still cleaned by Dr. Nguyen, so happy, thank you! From cleanings, to a crown, to a root canal (outsourced to an amazing Endodontist - Dr. Safa in Pasadena) as you can see, I still would not go anywhere else. Dr. J is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to work on my teeth in such a gentle way that I actually forgot I was being worked on. Unfortunately, I have to give this business one star because of the unprofessional front desk/receptionist, Macy. While Dr. Nguyen is really good, Macy is the reason I will not be returning. First, I have been going to Dr. Nguyen for years now. I live in Beverly Hills but make the trek to Pasadena just to see him. I should also say I'm a practicing attorney, so I make my routine cleaning appointments knowing that my schedule might change within six-months because of hearings or depositions that are set, sometimes out of my control. The last time I went to Dr. Nguyen, I was 20 minutes late. I left early but there was an unexpected freeway closure followed by traffic caused by the detour. It took me over an hour to get from Beverly Hills to his office. When I arrived, Macy informed me that because I was 20 minutes late I had to reschedule. Now as she said this, I noticed that Dr. Nguyen was already working on one patient in the chair and there was another patient apparently having a cleaning in the next room. So even if I had been on time and not 20 min late, it looked like Dr. Nguyen would already have been working on someone and I would've been waiting regardless. Also, there was a third person waiting to be seen in the waiting room which tells me they were already overbooked- not the patient's fault. Nevertheless, Macy did not attempt to make any concessions. She was extremely curt and dismissive. This was not the first time I have dealt with her in which she has been condescending regarding scheduling availability, dismissive and utterly unprofessional. They are providing a service, and for someone who has been loyal, never rude or unreasonable, I was extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience. One of their goals as a business should be client retention. I don't see how that can happen here with the way Macy has treated me and I'm sure other, now former, patients. Therefore, if you have the choice to select another dentist, who also has good reviews, is perhaps closer to you and with a more welcoming and professional front desk reception, I highly recommend going there as opposed to Comfort Dental. I will never return and would not recommend going here at all based on my experience. read more

I want to run to the top of a mountain and scream: "Finally!" I finally found a dental office that I like. It's new, clean, and of course comfortable. The name "Comfort Dental" is definitely appropriate. Parking is convenient and this is going to sound weird but I even like the sink area where you rinse your mouth. Basically, it's perfect for a picky person like me. Dr. Nguyen and his staff are the nicest people. He's an honest dentist and won't try to sell you more than what you need. Dr. Nguyen is very thorough when he explains things so it's reassuring. I definitely feel like I can trust him to do a good job on my teeth which he did. I was pleased with my cleaning and I didn't experience any discomfort at all from start to finish when he did my fillings. I would vote this Best Dental Practice in Pasadena!! The office itself is beautifully modern, immaculate, and very spacious. Macy is awesome, she is super nice and welcoming on the phone and in person. Rossy was nice and friendly too. Dr. Nguyen was so kind, gentle, and comforting. I haven't been to a dentist in a few years and was extremely nervous of how bad my teeth had become, but he put me at ease right away. He showed me my x-rays on the big screen tv (which was really nice that you could see everything so clearly) and thoroughly explained what he was showing me. So I have always been afraid of the dentist, because everyone is so rough, well at least that is what I thought until I met Dr. Nguyen and his group of professionals! I went here today for my first dental visit in about a decade... Embarrassing, I know. But everyone in this office was amazing. Macy, the receptionist, spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to track down my insurance company to figure out what type of coverage I had... It turned out to be full coverage fortunately. And it was something she offered to do without hesitating. Rosie, who took my X-rays, was also very nice and pleasant. Then I met Dr. Nguyen and he was not only a nice person, but was extremely gentle with my teeth and answered all of my many many questions. Everyone in this office treated me like I was their only patient that day... Even though I know I wasn't... And spent a lot of time with me. I would highly recommend this place! I've had three visits here now and here is the recap: 1st visit - fearful and did not want to go 2nd visit - much calmer once I realized it didn't hurt and I could listen to my iPod 3rd visit - excited to go and sad that I wasn't going back for six months Dr. Nguyen took care of three cavities that had apparently developed over the last ten years while I was avoiding the dentist. I barely felt his novocaine injections and have yet to feel any pain at all during any of the procedures. He took out my old silver fillings and replaced them with much prettier, teeth-colored ones. i went in to see Dr. Nguyen after not visiting the dentist for several years. I had knocked out a filling a couple years ago and ignored it until i started having severe pain in that tooth. i thought i would have to extract the tooth and replace it with a dental implant. luckily he was able to save my tooth by doing a root canal and place a crown instead, which saved me a lot of money in the long run. the crown fit perfectly and i have zero pain now. the staff is very friendly and Dr Nguyen himself is very non judgmental, unlike most dentists I've seen before. he is also very good at giving shots to numb the area he's working on, i hardly felt a thing. i look forward to my next appointment and would recommend him to everyone i know. read more
