I got Reese and everything that he said that's not his receipts showed it to him on the date that I came in on it and show him the text messages me talking to the guy. He still refused to get my money back told me to take it away first time I came out try to get my car. He told me this car owe him $1000 in storage fee then he told me I couldn't get it that day I gotta come Monday car was in the way they had the nerve to tell me that his car oil , 3000 and storage fee. The owner do not know how to run a business for future references go to a real mechanic because they hired anybody and they not real mechanics. I'm gonna make sure they suffer. They feel my pain. I wish I could post a text messages in the pictures and then got my car back and they had the nerve to have a little damage but we ain't gonna talk about that though. Let them tell it they didn't even know who vehicle was it? I came up that multiple times to get stuff after the car. When I explained to Hailey that I was not informed this at the time of booking she informed me, "I see you accepted the calendar invite which clearly states this" Keep in mind the calendar invite was sent AFTER I was charged. So nice of them to inform me after they charge me that the fee is non-refundable. When I explained this to her she told me that when she was hired that her boss made it clear that booking fees are so they do not lose money, I could easily understand this if I was cancelling without enough notice for them to schedule another appointment or if this was made clear before they decided to charge me. Needless to say I am out $100, so be advised when booking anything here.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Brandon/Top Notch...for multiple reasons. He…read moretinted my windows on my new car and not only did it take twice as long as he quoted me, but the job was done poorly in a few spots. The tint wasn't fit properly to the window so I had to take it back to get fixed, and again, it took over twice as long to do the work as I was told it would take. But that isn't even the worst of it....Brandon also apparently does various custom work to cars so I decided to have him black out my tail lights. He told me it would take him a little over an hour and he could do it when he fixed my tint. Four hours into the appointment I called him to see what was going on and why it was taking so long, at which time he told me the film they used "didn't look right" (defective apparently) so they took it off and he sent one of his guys into St. Louis to pick up some different film. Two hours later he calls me to tell me they can't do the job because all of the film is defective, but he'll order more and can do the job in a week. Six hours of my time, wasted. So I wait two weeks and never hear from him so I call him...repeatedly...he does not answer my calls OR call me back. I drive by his location fairly often so one day when I was driving by I saw him standing outside talking with a customer, so I pull into the parking lot and of course ask him why he's not returning my phone calls, and ask about the film. He proceeds to give me some runaround, saying that his phones have been down and he did not receive any of my messages. He also tells me that the film is back ordered and he should have it within the next week or so, at which time he tells me he will call me when it comes in and if I don't hear from him, to call him and he will finally get this job done. You can guess what happens next...I call, and call...and call and NO response. He completely ghosted me. To do this to me after wasting my time on multiple occasions is horribly unprofessional and, quite frankly, rude. I've literally waited over six months to write this review in the hopes that he would come around and follow through...but I guess those pesky phones are still down.

The lady took it back to be redone, but when I got the car home, I noticed problems on multiple windows. Update 2 - I went back for a second redo, this time on the front driver/passenger windows, rear trunk glass, and rear quarter windows. When I picked it up, I saw that the defrost lines on my rear glass had been scraped off. I was told it was "just bubbles" and they would go away, but if you search "broken defrost lines from window tint," you'll see exactly what mine looked like. I pointed this out immediately, but the staff brushed it off and told me to call them in a week if it was still an issue. It was very obvious, and I asked them to take pictures, but the lady didn't seem to care. They told me they had "gone over it thoroughly" this time, but clearly not thoroughly enough if no one noticed the missing defrost lines. After going back and forth, I ended up scheduling a replacement rear glass and re-tint. Update 3 - On my third visit, they replaced the trunk glass. I brought it home, only to find the trim on my right rear door was now cut up. Completely unacceptable, especially on a brand-new vehicle. At this point, after three visits and being told that multiple people including the managers "went over it with a fine-tooth comb," the workmanship is still sloppy. This is not the quality of work you'd expect for $625. If you're reading this, save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else for tinting. There's no excuse for this kind of job on a new car.

I made special arrangements to have a shipper pick it up. The night before, Jason cancelled. Not only was he extremely rude and condesending about backing out of the deal, he called me names and said it wasnt his problem and kept hanging up on me and dodging my calls. I tried to get the contact info of the person who it was sold to so that I could pay more and try to get it back, Jason refused. Then I called VIP, talked to a different manager, who promised to call me back and never did. I purchased this item new, then VIP bought it, and I wanted it back and they laughed at me and instead sold something sentimental to me to sombody else. I really dont appreciate it and I would do business elsewhere! Unethical business practices!

They claimed a lifetime warranty on their tint but still wanted a "security deposit" to replace it after arguing back and forth with me. A couple years later, I gave them the benefit of the doubt to help me with an audio issue. They charged me $105 for 35 minutes of "labor" and told me my subs were blown and that they needed to redo my whole sound system (Upwards of $600). I told them no thanks so they just threw my subs back in the backseat without rewiring them and also stripped a screw on my amp. I ended up finding the issue myself which was just a disconnection in the wiring under my carpet. Do not go here Unless you like wasting time and money.

I had work done on my vehicle a few years ago at Custom Sounds, no problems. Job was done as stated, showed me how to work it, repeated issues if they happen what to do etc. Went back once because I forgot what I was told and James came out to my vehicle and showed me again. Very pleasant to work with. Now two years later I had trouble with a speaker they installed. Tore my film on the window and was disconnected. Took it in told them about it said they would look at it, told me they fixed it all without a problem and without a charge seeing what they installed became disconnected. Everything was good then both my other speakers quit working on the drivers side. Took it in and talked to Mitchell pulled it in right away and took care of the problem and told us some bad news about the back speaker. We purchased new rear speakers to be installed. Went back for that install, James called and said we didn't need the speakers as there was a issue with the audio contacting the speakers. Which of course they didn't know until they had it all torn apart, asked if we still wanted to go ahead with the speakers that we choose. We did, then we were called that the speakers were too big and James picked out new speakers for us that would fit. Vehicle was ready on time, James took us out to make sure we were happy with the sound and install. I don't understand the other reviews here, there must have been a change in employees. read more

I just wanted to give a shout out to the custom sounds crew over in Fairview Heights, Illinois. I had a very bad dealing with a couple of the previous employees who were fired, I was promised a few things that never got delivered on and when I came back AJ and his crew took care of me. I was given an HDMI cable and the installation of said cable for free. I was told that my module for my car would integrate with my steering wheel controls and it didn't. Upon bringing this up I was told it would be $150 plus labor to make this happen. AJ stepped in once again and made this happen for free!! The most impressive thing that happened though was that when I told them I couldn't drop off my car because I didn't have a ride, AJ stepped up and said no problem, meet me at the store at 8:30, mind you they don't open til 10, and he said he'd take me home so I didn't have to find a ride. That's almost an hour of his time and fuel just to help a customer! I'll be coming back here for my truck and telling everyone!! Thanks again custom sounds! read more

I've been here several times over the years and it's always 5 star service. Salesman are salesman and they're always going to want to make a sale but these guys have only ever urged me into buying things I wanted and for the price I want to spend. Adam Weber is a phenomenal rep who is never too difficult to reach if you have any concerns or questions before or after your purchase, and anytime something goes wrong they fix me up. Sometimes even for free! They also have the best tech in the area called Mace. He built me a fiber glass box to house subs and put in my jeep wranglers floor bed giving me the BEST bass and taking up NO room besides the very small hidden storage in the back. As long as these guys are there, that's where I'll go. read more

We had our son's car (William) in your shop for window tinting, stereo system, and also purchased a truck horn. Everyone - Mitchell, Joseph, & the whole crew - was so nice! It didn't matter how busy, they said hi to everyone coming into the store and let them know that they would get to them as soon as possible. He also helped set up an alarm and gave me an amazing quote on getting my windows tinted. My appointment was for an oil change and tire rotation early Saturday morning. The Bay Area was so clean you could eat off the floor. The initial staff was friendly. He took me in immediately and I met with a service advisor Vincent. The waiting area was clean and comfortable. Complimentary bottle water and snacks are provided. My advisor came out to speak with me on recommendations for additional service. With the mileage being close to 90k performing a more extensive service with fluids and replacement of spark plugs. I agreed. He also said I could locate a coupon online and use, even from another dealer. With a more extensive service they needed two more hours. The car was completed at approximately the three hour mark. They also at my request removed an insurance beacon and scraped off the glue residue. Checkout was smooth and I utilized a 10% discount. They take all major credit cards. I was given my paperwork. The staff were friendly and professional. I would recommend and will return.

The one associate instantly knew who I was without me telling her. They explained about the core processing and what needed to be done to get the rebate back once the old battery has been removed from the car. They were both so kind and friendly.
