AAA battery service requested today. Wow! Literally two (2) minutes after I placed the request in the AAA app I received a call from Jared advising he was less than 25 minutes out and on his way. Indeed, Jared arrived in about 20 minutes. Checked my battery that was, ahem, 8.5 years old (OK no jokes please!) so yep it was toast alright. Jared advised in detail what was going to be replaced, why the new battery had different codes and details (my old battery was replaced with a newer model type for a 2006 vehicle) etc. Jared had it replaced in a jiffy and the old gal (car that is) fired right up! Came out of doc's office and car wouldn't start. Called AAA and they sent Custom Towing. Needed a new battery and was quickly installed. Jerry was pleasant, efficient, friendly and polite. Estimated wait time was 10 minutes, and it wasn't much longer than that (we have waited 1-2 hours through AAA). Just a very positive experience! I live in Sedona, AZ. Fun fact: There are Verizon stores in town. However, I had to drive to Flagstaff or Prescott for an iPhone 16 Pro. Yes, I needed to drive an hour each way to get updated. I chose Prescott because it would be warmer than Flagstaff. Anyway, my puppy and I set off to Prescott yesterday. On the way there, I felt something hit my car. I pulled over to see if I could find damage. I took my phone in case I needed to take a photo of it, and while I was out of the car, my overexcited doggy stepped on my purse upon the exact location of my car key and locked me out. What bad luck. I was somewhere out in the middle of the desert, and it was around 46ºF. I called AAA, and they were great, as usual. When asked if I had any message for the driver, I wrote, "Please try to hurry. It's cold, the storm is coming, and I only have a sweatshirt." The first tracker they sent me had it estimated that I would be meeting a driver in about three hours. What super bad luck. At that point, I thought I was stranded in Dewey, which I would field estimate had a population of one lonely cow and three chickens who think she's their mother. My fortune changed when the next estimate was 16 minutes. I knew those would be the slowest minutes as the wind picked up and made it feel even colder than it was. It was a bummer that I began shivering while my puppy panicked inside the car. Luckily, there was a beautiful sunset, so I distracted myself by taking photos while waiting for what I expected to be an average AAA experience. Generally, professional but not all that friendly. Being nice is not a job requirement. This time was remarkably different. I was met by a lovely gentleman named Chris from Custom Towing in Chino Valley, AZ. He greeted me with the warmth of an old friend, wrapped a sweatshirt around me, and told me that he had warmed up the truck for me to sit while I waited for him to open my car door. He took my message seriously. I did not expect that. I'm not inclined to write reviews. I'm usually not that motivated to do so. But I must recommend Custom Towing and Chris. He made me feel like he cared that I was in the cold, like an empathetic fellow human being, and I'm very thankful to him for turning my sad state of cold and helpless into warm and cared for. read more

I was driving the intersection of Hwy 89A and Willow Creek Rd at around 10:15 am today when one of your drivers almost hit me. I had the right of way and your truck was merging onto 89A. He honked and scared me and my husband. It was very bad, careless driving on his part. Perhaps this company needs to speak to the drivers because I read another review that stated the driver scared her. This was really reckless, needless to say I won't use or recommend Custom towing. read more

We needed a tow/lift on a Sunday morning. I have AAA road service. We were quite please that understanding road service is done by rotation with services that work for AAA. We got Custom Towing which we have used before. As usual the service was stellar. Andrew was the attendant and if we were going to go an a scale of 1 to 10 he would without question get a 20. Oscar, a CT driver, is a winner. My Ford Transit wouldn't shift from Park. AAA sent Custom Towing. Because the van was stuck in Park Oscar pulled out a long screw driver, opened the hood, Diddled with something and told us the `something' needed to be tightened up by a mechanic. We were near a Ford dealer (that we knew would charge us for breathing in and breathing out) but Oscar said it was a simple fix and we'd be better off taking it to our favorite shop: Jim's Alignment in Prescott. He towed it there and YES it is a simple fix. Oscar probably saved us several hundred dollars. Custom Towing and AAA are our `go to' auto helpers. read more

I am somewhat afraid of reviewing this business, but I discussed it with my daughter and she agreed that I should. My car was towed to my home and nothing was wrong with the tow itself, but the driver was scary as hell. Literally snarling about people from California moving here and ruining his life, hands clenching the steering wheel until his knuckles were white. I was very, very afraid of him, especially as he had my name, address and phone number right on the paperwork. The constant comments about people from California taking his money and buying up all the houses while he was snarling and spitting as he yelled while driving. I have waited a long time before posting as I was too afraid to say anything before this. I have AAA towing, but I will no longer use it locally if I need a tow. I will now have to pay out of pocket because of this terrifying man and that's okay. It's worth it. If I knew that he was no longer an employee, I would use Custom Towing, but I am not brave enough to go there and ask. read more

Highly recommend Custom Towing! Recently experienced significant problems with my car battery. AAA sent out Custom Towing to provide assistance. They got to my home promptly, evaluated the problem and got my car started so I could run my errands. Then my car battery apparently died due to the low usage - grocery shopping only every 10 days or longer. My attempts to charge the battery with a trickle charger for 3 days was not successful. AAA again sent Custom and they confirmed the dead battery, ordered a replacement, installed it today. Melissa was exceptionally Professional, Courteous and effective in scheduling the service calls and subsequent battery replacement to fit my schedule. John along with the previous Serviceman both did excellent work in explaining the situation to me as well as the final resolution. I would strongly recommend Custom Towing for all of the services that they provide. read more

No one likes a problem with their vehicle and it always seems to happen on the day you have a zillion things to get done. My car decided to say it was overheating and I could only drive a few hundred feet at a time, so I ended up parked in the turnout on Willow Lake Rd in Prescott and I called AAA. AAA sent out Custom Towing from Chino Valley. I know AAA gave them the wrong location, but Custom Towing still found me and they were there earlier than AAA said they would arrive. Amazing! The driver, Max, was awesome. The perfect combination of professional and personable. I immediately felt at ease and I knew my car was going to be handled expertly, so I had nothing to worry about. Max was a very careful driver on the way to my home and I really appreciated it. I have to admit that I hope I never need another tow, but if I do, I will ask for Custom Towing and Max.
