Top notch stuff. What a find this place is. If you e been before and want to go again bear in mind that they've moved from their old location owing to their great success. What a funky place. There's a real barber shop to the left as you walk in which is the real deal and not just for show. Although at €35 for a mans hair cut and €20 for a mans beard trim its on the pricey side if you ask me but then again I'm not a man ;) The bar area is beyond cool and has a very quirky layout. The staff are super friendly and the menu steers away from your normal touristy crap which is good. We ordered a quesadilla with pork belly, onion rings and a buffalo burger with house fries. Delicious from start to finish. Although if you order the buffalo burger it isn't hot and hardly comes with any sauce so ask for extra. The buffalo sauce isn't what I would describe as spicy, more sour than anything else. Oh yeah and definitely order a cocktail. They're very well made. I had a nacho libre where the apricot jam element actually came on a nacho in the drink. A little bit of added humour never goes a miss. Excellent drink! Next time we're back in Amsterdam this place will probably become a bit of a regular for us. read more

The cheeseburger was right on the money - it was juicy and flavorful, the bun held up well, fries were well made, and the presentation made it appealing. The waffles, however, were a big disappointment. While the chicken was fine, the red velvet waffles were extremely dry. It was almost like eating crackers, no kidding. If there was maple syrup to cut the dryness, that would've helped, but the sauce was literally thick caramel so no help there. Because of the good burger but terrible waffle, thus the average review. Yelp wise this place was supposed to be one of the better food spots in the neighborhood. I was disappointed that my experience here wasn't that great. My gripe was the service. Our waiter was nice he gave my some vital information Amsterdam party scene wise but home boy was nowhere to be found damn near my entire visit here. By far the worst haircut I've gotten in my life. Not only was the barber (Massimo) incompetent but also rude and insistent on not adhering to what I was looking for. Literally gave this guy a full guide to what I wanted and wasn't too difficult. Gave him EXACT measurements, and this guy for some reason wants to give me a fade (something I have no intention on getting). Not only was it borderline harassment and ill treatment, he completely disregarded what I told him and wouldn't even make eye contact when I was explaining it to him. Totally ignores me talking for 5 mins and just says "trust me". Plus told him to not use clippers, only scissors and he gives me dumb-founded look and asks how he's gonna give a fade?! This place is awesome. You can get a quality hair cut, shave, or shape up, and a great cocktail at the same time. If you are hungry they have food as well. I was in Amsterdam for a short weekend after traveling around the US and Europe for about three weeks and was in need of a beard trim and shape up. I found this place on Yelp and was hesitant at first due to the barbershop and bar/restaurant sharing the same space. But it was centrally located, and very close to the main train station, I decided to give it a try. It did not dissapoint. I walked in and was pleasantly surprised that the barber shop part was cleverly seperated on the left side and the bar area occupied the rest of the main space of the location. I did not have an appointment, and waited a short time to be seen. While I waited I had a very nicely done Old Fashioned by one of the seasoned bartenders. My beard trim and shape up was very professionally done, straight edge razor, hot towel....the works. It was only 20 Euros. After that I stuck around the bar for some more drinks. I had another cockatail, and then I decided to try some of the beers on tap. The previously gifted bartender was very knowledgeable regarding the local beers they had. His recommendations did not dissapoint. The only thing I did not try at this place was the food. But considering the beard trim, the cocktails, and the overall great atmosphere of the place, I am sure the food is great as well. Quality haircut...great food...great location...great ambiance...friendly staff.... Where do I begin!! I have traveled to Amsterdam several times in the past and I can honestly say amongst all the city has to offer this could be my most memorable experience I've had there. On the final day of my trip I was in dire need of a haircut, I get my haircut every week. We found this spot here on Yelp and were intrigued by the barbershop/restaurant combo. Initially I thought something wouldn't be good, either the haircut or the food. Upon arriving there, the barbers weren't cutting yet so we put our names on the blackboard along with what it was we wanted. In my case I needed a bald clipper fade. One of my buddies just wanted a traditional razor shave and my other friend needed a cut and a beard lining. While we waited for our turn we ordered breakfast, I ordered the chicken and waffles. They were very good. So I assumed the haircut would be shit. I was wrong. I'm 35 and have been getting faded up every week for the last 20 years. I've gotten cut all over the US and abroad. This was the best haircut I've received. The haircut was less than 20 min. And with little explanation the barber did exactly what I wanted. And did it well. He used a straight razor to line me up and make the "bald" part of the fade super smooth. The whole cut was reminiscent of the old time haircuts with the old school shaving cream and hot towel and all that. The haircut was 20euro which is on par to most of the barbershops I've been to. On top of the food and the haircut, one of the owners told us that in the evening they would be having hip hop karaoke night. We ended up back at the barbershop at night for drinks and what not. Did I forget to mention they have a full bar there? So we had drinks and hung out for a few hours. The owner and his girlfriend came and sat at our table and hung out with us for the evening. He was an amazing host and we had some great conversations. People back here in the states look at me funny when I tell them that one of the highlights of our trip to Europe (we also went to Paris) was a barbershop, but they don't understand it's more than that. If you are in Amsterdam and are in need of a haircut, shave, food, drinks, or a night out away from the cattle herding feeling of the red light district, this place is it. This place is so cool! Where on earth can you find a bar that's also a barber shop that's also a restaurant? We came here on vacation from LA and my boyfriend really needed a cut. The hostess was incredibly sweet and helpful! They were able to see him within a half hour. While we waited, we had some of the best drinks we had while on vacation.
