Food was fresh, and the coffee was good. But I will say it wasn't the best food I've had here. Was very plain. Maybe it was what I ordered. The service and ambience were great though!

Sat outside by the canal, trendy vibe. Lots of people walking by and an occasional car squeezing through. great food. Fast service, which seems to be a rarity here.

Small cafe in Centrum/De Wallen. It looks like it's counter-serve, but it's full service. Indoor and outdoor seating. I'd recommend indoor seating since the sidewalk and road are narrow and you'd have garbage trucks and such passing by. Good food and service. Salads and sandwiches. The food came out quickly. Smoked salmon open sandwich: several flavors that work together without overpowering each other. They do take Visa cards.

This could have been an easy 5 stars if it were only for the food and views but service was rather poor at this establishment. Zero acknowledgment from anyone and everyone, especially the "supervisor" who made us wait for 20 mins while there were plenty of empty tables by the canal and folks who walked in after us seated themselves without any interaction with the host. Guess that's how it worked here but I didn't understand why we were specifically asked to wait. Food was quite delicious when our orders were finally taken and served and eating our meal by the canal was phenomenal. It wasn't a surprise that the check came right as we finished eating. To me, preferential treatment is completely unacceptable. We received amazing service all around everywhere else on our trip.

A beautiful environment to eat outside near the canals, so special. They were busy but our service was quick and the portion sizes of the food was well worth the price. Our server was helpful and gave us suggestions for substitutions. Everything tasted to fresh and delicious. A truly phenomenal spot that is so charming.

HOLY. COW. Best brunch. Ever. I was visiting Amsterdam for 3 days and stopped in 3 times! What an absolute gem. Great coffee. Great energy. Great brunch. Cheers!

Great place for a gluten free open sandwich. And try the apple and ginger tea. Delicious on a cold, wet Amsterdam day.

Welcoming Cafe in the center of Red Light District. Recommend if you're looking for a simple healthy bite to eat. The salads & sandwiches are beautifully presented with an mix of fresh and colorful veggies. Everyone I watched that received their food smiled when it was set down in front of them. They also have a variety of homemade baked goods available. I'm pretty sure they have some gluten free options as well. Specialty coffees, teas, fresh juice and even some smoothie options. They make a good cappuccino that's thick, frothy, and creamy on top. The inside is quite relaxing and has an interesting mix of decor. I liked the cute marble tabletops. Staff was very friendly & helpful which is always a plus in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, you don't get that everywhere you go. Can be a bit of a wait for food, but that's because they make everything made to order with love. Perfect place for people who usually visit organic, vegan, vegetarian style cafes back at home, but they do serve meat items here as well.

I wanted to try everything here! Settled on the vegan bliss bowl and couldn't stop eating the bright pink beet hummus with fresh and nicely roasted veggies. So many colors on our plates - a welcome nourishing meal on vacation. We sat at a little table on the canal outside the cafe and enjoyed watching the boat and foot traffic. This is a must for breakfast or lunch in Amsterdam.

This place was great! The food was so fresh and very reasonably priced! Service was attentive. I got the salmon open faced sandwich and the bacon and avocado sandwich. We added chucked to the bacon avo and it was fantastic, so juicy and flavorful! Will be back!!!

A great place for lunch in Amsterdam. Everything at Ivy & Bros tastes fresh and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Make sure to try one of their teas- to me their apple ginger tea was worth the visit on its on.

Frittata. Chicken open sandwich. Orange juice.

And despite ALL of our meals in Amsterdam being excellent, this one may have been the best. We wanted to try Dutch food, not totally knowing what to expect and were blown away by the combination of flavors and textures we consumed. We started with the pickled herring which was served with onions and pickles- fresh yet bold! I'm still thinking about those little fishies weeks later. Then we each had the sampler-ish plates (I forget what it was called). Hers was the vegetarian version and mine was with sausage. There were 3 kinds of essentially mashed potatoes with veggies mixed in: 1 with spinach I think, 1 with carrots, and 1 with sauerkraut. Mine came with a delightfully rich gravy and my moms came with some kind of lighter yellow sauce (I think mustard based). We tried these same dishes at other Dutch restaurants during our stay, but nothing beat The Pantry. The service in this quaint and cozy spot was also excellent!

Portions are substantial and a very good value in a neighborhood where tourist-markups are the norm. They have a/c, but in order to feel it you'll need to sit closer to the back of the restaurant/near the kitchen, as there is only one wall unit back there, and they leave the front of the restaurant open to the elements (even in 98+ degree heat).

I found it browsing Yelp, and the name alone told me this was going to be a meat-forward kind of night. Fair warning if you're bringing anyone squeamish about restaurant names: The wife wasn't thrilled about it going in, though the food won her over fast. Getting there was its own small adventure. The place sits down a narrow alley, and our Uber couldn't get us all the way to it, which turned into a bit of a hike. That happened to us more than once in Amsterdam, using the exact address didn't always mean the driver could actually reach the door, so budget a few extra minutes if you're headed here. I normally default to steak, but the menu had a burger topped with pulled pork that promised more meat than a straight cut, and I couldn't pass it up. Delicious. Genuinely one of the best burgers I've had. But the wife's flat iron steak might have stolen the night. Flat iron is one of the most underrated cuts out there, and this kitchen proved it. She was still talking about that steak days after we got home, enough that I ended up buying flat irons from Costco just to chase it. The atmosphere is cool and a little edgy, dim lighting, a lot of character, and yes, some genuinely creepy decor scattered around, including an old doll that stares at you like it's judging your order. It ran loud, but not so loud we couldn't hold a conversation across the table. Service was good, just on European time rather than American time. Getting the check took a while, which threw us off at first, but that's the norm across the EU, not a knock on this place specifically. Pricey, but worth every bit of it. We'd go back without hesitation next time we're in Amsterdam.

It was very warm in the place, so keep that in mind if you're traveling in Amsterdam during a heat dome! We had a couple servers who worked with us nd both were kind and friendly. They didn't quite communicate with each other about our need to split the check a specific way, but it worked out in the end. We enjoyed some cocktails and beer (ranging from 9.50 Euro to 12 Euro), as well as the Pork Belly and Pickles to start off (21.50 Euro for 300 grams). Tasty way to start the meal. The three of us shared our mains and enjoyed what we had. The Favorite Ribs (24.50 Euro) were flavorful; the L'Incroyable 300gr (Ribeye; 34.50 Euro) was good, but our least favorite of what we ordered; the Le Cannibale Royale 170gr (burger) was super tasty. We also enjoyed some frites (4.90 Euro) and some delicious Mac n Cheese (6.50 Euros). Good time and good food!

We sat on the patio. Our server brought us complementary bread with butter while we read through the menu. I'm told my meal was authentic Dutch food, but it just seemed like a strange combination. The name slipped my mind, but it was a pile of mashed potatoes with endive, with a meatball on top with brown gravy and then beside that with some type of smoked sausage with a pile of mustard. I've always felt that whatever food you put on a plate should taste good together sausage with the mustard with the meat and the gravy and the mashed potatoes just seem disjointed to me. With that sad, I ate every drop of it and enjoyed it so maybe I learned something from this meal. ‍ My son took the alternative approach and ordered a meal with Indonesian flavors; chicken with peanut sauce was the main entrée and it came with french fries. He definitely enjoyed his meal as well. I'm glad we gave VS a try. It turned out to be a good meal of Dutch food in a touristy area with food from all over the world. I guess I'm old-fashioned because I just wanted a taste of the local cuisine. Cheers!
