Cute Nail Salon is just that- a very cute nail salon. I didn't even know that they existed in Wedgwood and I've lived down the street for almost a year. There is a parking lot in the back which makes it convenient as well. Onto the nails... I walked in and requested a shellac pedicure ($38). They have plenty of gel colors to choose from. I settled for a dusty pink. I sat in one of their 6 salon chairs and selected a 30 minute acupressure massage setting on the chair. Between sitting in the chair and getting a fabulous foot massage by the nail technician, I was drifting away into a deep sleep. The pedicure comes with it all. They don't even ask if you want any a la carte services? Foot scrub? Check. Hot oil massage? Check. Heated towel wrap? Check. All included in the price. How wonderful :) read more

This cute little salon is close to my house so I gave it a go! This is definitely my new go to. They are affordable, and do such a good job. My favorite part is that the owners are so kind and fun to chat with. They go above and beyond for a great experience. My pedicure had the longest massage I've ever gotten, and my nails always look amazing. Recently my top coat chipped (definitely my fault) and I was able to get it fixed right when I walked in and was out in 10 minutes. Gels chipped and peeled off after 6 days. I've never had that happen before, even in the past coming here. When I came in for my mani it was busy-I had called ahead to make sure they had time for me. But when I arrived, so did other people who got seated before me. I thought that was a bit rude. During the whole appointment there was barely any talk. You could tell they were in a rush to get people in and out. Which also makes me wonder about sanitation...the gelish LED light machine was oily... For $25 you get what you pay for. Normally I spend $45 at a salon that also gives you a massage on the arms, hands and back along with tea and nails that last 6 weeks without rough buffing. read more

Good, clean, cute nail place that does great work. Their massage chairs are pretty comfy (would be better with small lumbar pillow), and the decor is cozy and nice. The deluxe pedi includes a lot of services, including scrub, paraffin, and hot stone massage. The scrubbing could have been a little better, but everything else was relaxing and lovely. Went here yesterday because I've been seeing their sign for $25 mani/pedis Mon-Thu for awhile now. Rainy day outside so I figured perfect time to go. Got there at approximately 1 pm & the place was empty. Picked my nail polish from the large selection on the wall. Plopped down into the big massage chair & stuck the toes into the cauldron of hot water. It was 99% full already so when the sweet old lady asked me " is it ok, I lied & said yes even though I felt my skin boiling off." Was enjoying pedicure til she nipped the cuticle on my big toe. Ouch. Still feeling it now. Then she whipped out the clippers & butchered the nail on big toe so short I'm sure it will grow out ingrown. :( Told her no more cutting. Just file. Grrrr. Wish they should ask before cutting. Anyhoooo....nice massage with lots of cuticle oil instead of lotion. Didn't ask if I wanted paraffin upgrade just did it so I felt obligated to pay the extra $5. Kinda nice but I don't think it's worth it. At this time another patron walks in & she hasn't started on the my fingers yet. I hate this time because I feel they are gonna rush me to get to the next customer. Instead they stick her feet in the tub to start soaking. She must have soaked for a full 20 min before Kelly comes out from the wax/eyelash room to take over my nails while the First Lady goes to work on the other ladies toes. All in all not horrible. Worst nail job ever & customer service to match. 1st time I had a pedi and it was ok enough for me to come back. This time was a mani, the polish was crappy & the lady was rough on my cuticles (they are cuticles, not nails!!!), totally made me bleed, she totally rushed to get done. I love supporting these type of nail salon but seriously my 7 year old daughter can do a better job! Don't waste your time or healthy cuticles on this place!!! ***The post from owner explains why this place had crappy service! Aren't you the professional, you had NO communication with me!! I drive from First Hill every two weeks to visit Lany and Toan (the salon owners) for a shellac manicure as well as a pedicure on every other visit. There is a HUGE selection of colors, both of normal polish and shellac -- I always struggle to choose my color! I am always SO impressed with how even and beautiful Lany makes my French tip manicures... she is a true artist! I love to watch her work. The prices are fair and I think the service here is wonderful; it's what has brought me back every two weeks for the two years that Lany and Toan have owned the salon! Highly recommend! read more

Cute Nail has a new owner - and she's an experienced nail salon owner already! Plus she has a staff nail technician so things are looking up for this little neighborhood salon. The new staff was very conscious about how my service was satisfying me. I appreciated that. When I walked in I needed a few minutes to "just sit and relax" and soak my feet for a few. Since they weren't too busy, I was able to have those few minutes before the staff started working on my feet and nails. If you haven't been in awhile, give them a try again. I've been coming to this nail salon every few weeks for the last 9 months - It's my go to. I went to a different salon once and regretted it. I'm writing this from a Cute Nails pedicure chair because the massage I just got was so phenomenal I had to give my kudos. The service is very personal and the shellac doesn't wreck my nails when I take it off. It's not the speediest of experiences, so expect to spend two hours for a mani/pedi/drying. BUT, the final product is much better than what you might get from a crowded salon that rushes you in and out in 30 minutes. I highly recommend this place! read more

CLEAN, SUPER friendly, reasonably priced and you really get the feeling that your business really matters to them. Yeah, I've had better pedicures. Most of the reviewers were unhappy about the exfoliation, and I concur on that point. But, I am willing to forgive procedural errors if you have a great attitude. I'm tired of walking into places, in Seattle in particular, where you act as though you are doing me some sort of favor by helping me. You don't get that here. I had three people working on my hands and feet at once. They offered to bring me something to drink, to change the channel to what I wanted to watch. Was extremely impressed with the staff, me and my friend were last minute trying to find a place to get our nails done for prom and this amazing place stayed 3 hours opened for us! Not rushed, and so friendly! And the guy there is an amazing photographer! Over all amazing experience. She cut my big left toenail in such a weird way, it ended up causing horrible pain, and I went to the podiatrist. He told me the side of my toenail had been clipped at an angle, for some unknown reason, and as it was growing in was putting pressure on the nailbed, which was causing the excruciating pain. He said I could deal with it for another 3 to 6 months while it grew back, or I could do extensive surgery to remove that side of my nail bed and ablate that portion of the nail. I'm dealing with it. And I'm pissed. Don't go here, they don't know what they are doing, are unsanitary, and ended up costing me much more than a cheap pedicure. read more

I went there becasue it was close to my way home from work. It might have been bad due to me arriving at 6:45 and they closed at 7. I asked the older woman (spoke very little English) what time the closed. When I realized it was at 7pm i just said i would come back another time. But Kelly (?) the younger gal poked her head out from the waxing room and said, "No, stay we can do it for you!" I wanted a pedi and a shellac manicure. The older woman did my pedicure...THE WORSTE EVER... and I've been getting salon pedicutes for about 15+ years. The worste bedside manner, rough, rude and took all of 5 seconds to clean my cuticles. It was like she was going through the motions but didn't really do anything. : ( I love my pedi's when they are good since it's a form of relaxation for me. This was HORRIBLE!!! Took maybe 15 minutes for the whole thing...... I know right.... Shellac was not done the right way, super fast and didn't let the coats set between applications. Net net... DON'T GO HERE if you want quality. read more

I called and made an appointment for two at 3 pm they said no problem. We arrived and sat for almost 30 min (they were busy). The owner was my nail person and was rushed the whole time. The pedicure was painful, "massage " abrupt and rough. I felt like he had nipped me and later, when I saw my foam toe pad I saw blood. In a nutshell we were there for 70 min for a basic pedicure and walked out bleeding. Foot is sore today with TWO cuts on two different toes... Nice people but they need to slow down. read more

Quite frankly, best shellac in town, hands down!! Kelly does an amazing job and it's very reasonably priced. As a mom, I use my hands a lot and my nail job while last forever!! Her mom does the prep work on toes, and she can be a little heavy handed. However, I've had better luck if I ask her to go gentle. Also, you can't beat the paraffin wax wrap, delightful!! Bottom line is: nail salons are never a 100% hit. There are always aspects to them that will rub you the wrong way. For me, those aspects of Cute Nail are not a problem. PS. Kelly went on vacation once and her nephew filled in. He was just as talented a nail tech. read more

I am honestly incredibly surprised this place has 4 stars overall. The three people who I encountered working there seemed nice enough but, going here was awful. I was in a pinch and drove by and saw nobody was in so I quickly parked and walked in. I wanted a pedicure and shellac manicure. The cleanliness of the salon concerned me as soon as I stepped in, there weren't bags in the pedicure baths; fruit flies all about; and the floors looked like they were not frequently washed if at all. Later on in my manicure the nail tech actually took the the dead skin from my cuticle and threw them on the floor which made my skin crawl. He also kept putting the same dirty on the side table of the woman next to me. I keep myself very clean but, someone else's dead skin is still someone else's dead skin. On top of the cleaning regiment being atrocious, when I walked in there were clearly only three people available, halfway through my service the salon had filled to 7 customers including myself, and somehow the outnumbered by double staff thought they could perform magic. They skimped on my service and my toes look as if they were done at home, the manicure was better by a long run but the massage was more of someone slathering watery lotion on my wrist for a few seconds. I will absolutely not be returning. read more

Full disclose, I have only been here once so I'm hesitant to write this mixed review. Maybe they were having an off day, but I won't be back to find out. Pros: -my pedicure with regular polish looks great and is still looking good a week later. -both massages (foot & arm) were great -friendly staff Cons -painful cuticle push -cut my pinky finger cuticle -shellac on fingernails started peeling within a week -the staff was friendly but kept telling me to relax -got shellac polish all over the tips of my fingers and left it. When I asked about removing it she painfully used her own fingernails to scrape it off. Again, maybe it was an off day. Other reviews are pretty good, but I won't be back. read more
