Got bilateral great toe pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. Went back in to tell them about their unsanitary patterns that destroyed both of my great toes and tried to blame it on my running which I've been doing for 15+ years and have never had this problem. Showed them my toes before and after with the location of where the picture was taken and still tried to deny it was them. I had a positive experience here a few months ago with gel - the technician took her time and did an OK job. Although she painted 2 nails too far into the nail bed and onto my cuticle, so the paint started snagging as soon as it grew out a little and ultimately chipped off too soon (around the week and a half mark). At least the technician took her time that time. I came back a few weeks ago and my nail job was crap. I called in at 6pm to see if I could walk in for a gel appointment (they close at 7). The technician said sure, and I told her I'd be there in ten minutes. She did SUCH a rush job, clearly in a hurry, and skipped several steps that the first technician had done (buffing the nail, putting polish on the edge of the nail). She finished the job in 20 minutes, plenty of time to spare before they were closed. I felt hurried and like she was just trying to get me out of there. My nails were chipping within five days. I understand if 45 minutes wasn't enough time to do a proper job before the spa closed, and I was essentially a walk in, but she barely used half that time, and I called ahead to make sure it wouldn't be a problem! If I had known I'd be paying for this crappy of a job, I'd have waited till the next day to book an appointment elsewhere. I will not be returning. read more

TOXIC ASF AND I'M NOT EXAGGERATING. I felt so bad even though I wasn't doing anything wrong at all. 1. I was passed around from nail tech to nail tech until finally I was assigned to the fourth one. 2. The reason why I was passed around was because it was so unorganized! People kept coming in both with appointment and walk ins and they kept telling everyone 20 minutes so the ladies I got kept attending them and moving around so that's why and I called for an appointment and I was treated like I didn't make one. 3. The last lady I got who did my nails was super rude in a low-key way if that makes sense; she was trying to hurry up and I felt like I was unimportant and like she was trying to just finish asap. 4. She made me bleed three times and only apologized for making me bleed once. 5. She had initially asked me what I wanted and I told her the same design I had bc you can still see the design I had and when it was time to paint my nails she started painting my whole nail and I told her I didn't want my whole nail painted and her demeanor changed and she was definitely bothered and annoyed but I'm like wondering like I told you the same design so idk why she got bothered by me wanting the nails I wanted. 6. After that she just seemed annoyed and bothered 7. She made a comment that I did not appreciate and said if I had done white it would be easier (I was doing like a mint or sea green type color as a French tip) 8. I didn't get what I wanted initially which was shellac; I just got regular nail color and top coat that's it but I just wanted to leave so bad I didn't feel good being there anymore that I didn't want to ask for it anymore. 9. I think she overcharged me and I got charged $40 for regular manicure nothing special. 10. I don't recommend this place unless you always have a good experience here then good for you but for me I just felt really bad and felt the unwelcomeness and felt hurried. 11. This is just for the lady I got I don't know her name but she like has her spot on the last row of where you do your nails. 12. Also they were handling money and not washing their hands! M'eh. With all the nail places in Seattle, you can (and should) skip this one. I don't go to nail places often (maybe two or three times a year) but I know what to expect, so take this for what it's worth. Went in without an appointment and said I wanted a pedicure. Was immediately shuttled to a stall for a manicure. M'eh. Alright then, I'll do both. Manicure was mediocre. Never asked about what I wanted or how I wanted it, never asked, frankly, about anything. Sit your butt in a chair, have the person snip your nails without asking you what you want, talking to you (at all) or even looking at you. Okay, whatever. Not all that unusual. Moved to the pedicure station and waited. And waited. And waited. Watched someone else come in, a young woman with an appointment, who also waited and waited and waited -- well beyond her appointment time. I waited so long that the hot water in the foot bath went cold and the water level dropped to the point that the circulating pump started making those loud sucking noises. The technician left a manicure stall and filled the water level again -- with cold water. Waited some more. Finally had enough and borrowed the towel from the woman next to me and started to dry myself off. The technician hurried over, leaving her manicure client halfway through, to say she was ready. I declined, toweled off, and went to pay. Was charged twenty-eight bucks for a crappy manicure, no receipt, have no idea if that's on their 'menu,' if that's their standard pricing or what. No idea what happened there. It's a shame. I literally live two blocks away. I'll drive somewhere else next time. You should too. read more

We get to the spa (make sure you come early to find parking it's a small lot) and it is PACKED. My friends & I made an appointment for 3:30, and we didn't get started til about 4. Not only have I been to all sorts of nail salons from hole-in-the-walls to BOUGIE $$$ but I also work at a nail spa. I didn't have high expectations so I didn't mind the wait. I had requested Ni to do my acrylic full set and she was not only super sweet but did an amazing job! Rarely ever am I content with nails because I feel like it's hard to communicate what you really want but she did a good job of replicating the photo I showed her. It was decently priced, close to where I live, and amazing service. I couldn't be happier. My only recommendation is to improve scheduling as the business grows... give more preference to people who have made appointments & to let walk-ins know a specific time they can get started. Shame on me for not waiting for my regular nail salon to open, that I tried a different establishment. I arrived and the individual was eager to get me into the pedi station and didn't allow me to finish selecting my shellac color from the variety on the walls. Instead, she provided me with color palates to select from. The first color I selected she said it dried darker than what was on the palate and offered another option, which I declined as it was not even close to the color I wanted. The next option I selected she stated wasn't intended for real nails. Therefore, she gave me a palate for regular polish. I selected a color and after it was already applied I realized it could be applied as a shellac. I brought this up to the individual and she then asked if I wanted to change it to the shellac. I explained to her my intent was to get a shellac polish but was told the colors I selected were not good options therefore to find a regular polish color, which I did, only to find out I could have gotten it in shellac. Prior to the application of the regular polish, they asked if I wanted to pay so I wouldn't ruin my nails later, which I did. I wish I didn't pay and tip before the polish was applied, because I felt the process was dishonest. In addition, I felt rushed and now that I have been sitting in a chair waiting for my nails to dry, and watching the salon, they had several acrylic appointments of which the individual who assisted me was tasked with one of the appointments. Perhaps this is why she didn't want to do the shellac anymore. It is a shame that I didn't get the shellac because now I am writing this review as I wait for my nails to set when I could have gotten the shellac and been out the door doing more productive things with my day. My sister, daughter and I had a girls day on Friday (12/29/17) so we decided to get our nails done. When we arrived there were only 3 customers at the time. We were seated right away and they started on our feet. Halfway through, they kept asking us if we planned to do manicures as well. We told them we needed to think about it but asked for the price because each time we go, it changes. We finally decided to have manicures as well so a second person started working on our fingernails while one person was finishing up our toes. People starting coming in and everyone started scurrying. I got French tip toes and they had 3 seconds to dry before they started moving me to the other side. I scraped 2 toes which I told them they would need to fix when we were done. Meanwhile, my sister had told her gal to not cut her toe nails too short because she got worried of being cut. Well can you guess what happened? My sisters nails were cut too short and it's been painful for her since that day (sounds like a lawsuit right)... As they were finishing up our fingernails, my sister had asked this new gal to only use a file and not a nail cutter since she wanted to keep the length long. She started speaking in a loud rude manner in her language to her coworkers and laughed right after my sister made that request. Here is the highlight though, they wanted us to pay before all of the services were finished. Our nails weren't painted yet and they wanted us to pay and tip them for exceptional work that was not proven yet. Right after we got that figured out because they couldn't remember how much to charge us, they finally started painting our finger nails. My sisters gal almost painted her nails the wrong color. How you may ask? While we were paying, someone put the polish back on the wall so this employee laughed it off and told my sister to go get it again. Yes, we were both overly annoyed by her at this point and wanted to leave. She did a crappy paint job on my sister that my lady had to fix it after she fixed my toes. This all took 2 1/2 hours by the way... Overall, this was our last time here. We've come before and the service has gone done horribly. It's not worth the time or money so just avoid this place. They don't care for the customer at all, they rush you and do what they want. I would give it zero stars if I could. So when I started going here it was great! The ladies were nice and they're shaping was good! But the more I come here, the colder I noticed they are to their guests. They don't say bye, the barely say hi - they literally just ask what you want. The younger girl that does my nails isn't even like "okay, you're done" at the end of my service. She just gets up and walks away. I understand it's a nail salon - but when you tell me that I can't get another full set and you're basically dogging me into getting a gel fill, its not ok. My second to last visit there, it happened to a little teenage girl wanting a full set. She was talking to her nail tech and all of a sudden almost all the nail techs in the salon were talking all at once to her. I wasn't in her position that time and even I was overwhelmed! What made me stop going here is what happened in my last visit. That same nail tech that I've always had slapped my hands to signal that I was done and then proceeded to walk off in the middle of my question. YOU GUYS ARE GOOD AT NAILS. i've been going to peony for years. i swear by the pedicures i get from ly although i think all the women who work there do good work. they usually last 4-5 weeks without major chipping, sometimes longer, and ly is meticulous in terms of the attention to she gives to the polish near the cuticle as well as the shaping of my nails. whereas other places may not listen to you when you ask them to cut your nails short, ly is consistent and attentive to my preferences. the owner, lina, is very sweet. over time, she has gotten to know me, calls me by name when i'm there, and is always interested in whether i am satisfied. it's very unusual if i have problem, and if i ever have, she has done what she needs to to make it right. it speaks to the quality of peony services and the consistency of staff that the same women have been there for as long as i have been going there, and they have a cadre of regulars always streaming in and out. the employees at peony are efficient, clean and respectful. i don't go in for fancy shellac or fills, but those stations are almost always occupied when i'm there. i am a creature of habit and my habit is to stick with what i know works: ly is my go to person, and we've developed a lovely relationship over the years where we are able to catch up over the course of the hour i'm usually there, asking each other about whatever's going on in our lives outside of work. i always look forward to those times when i know she has my back (in this case, more literally, my feet and toes) and makes sure i leave ready for another 4-5 weeks out in the world showing off another great pedicure for everyone to envy. read more

walked in Friday afternoon because I was in the mood for a very rare manicure. The lady who helped me was very warm and kind even though I clearly had no idea what I was doing as soon as I stepped in the door. She asked if I wanted shellac and said it lasts longer, two weeks. Being a noob I asked if it's hard to remove and she said oh no! So I hope it's not. She did a beautiful job! I got a deep, dark apple red with subtle glitter and I love it. She put a base coat of a lighter red first (color of Japanese temples) and then 2 coats of dark red glitter. I had horrid hangnails around my cuticles and she snipped them very efficiently. One of my nails was cracked and she delicately glued some sort of bandage on it to cover that part. It was very neat! They also gave me a coupon because it was my first time in there. Edit: that night I went to an arcade and chipped a small piece of 1 nail. Two days later I went back in and another lady kindly fixed it and put a top coat on the rest of my nails, along with some more cuticle oil and a little bit of filing. No charge. read more

I was looking for a new neighborhood spot after moving and I called for an appointment. As I arrived they were seating two other people who didn't have appointments. When I mentioned my appointment, they had the other two gals get up, after having been seated already and wait so they could accommodate my appointment. This was not only sucky for them but also made me feel uncomfortable for "kicking them out. THEN, I still waited in the chair for 15 minutes before they could get started. But wait... there's more... Then I noticed that they weren't changing their gloves in between clients YIKES. I had asked my technician to do so and she said "it's ok, I washed my hands," which I also did not see. She ended up changing her gloves for me so I stayed (for a bad expensive pedicure) but I would steer clear at least during pandemic times. i have been a regular and peony for a number of years now. i always trust that they do a good job and they do! but i've also noticed that almost every time i come in to get my nails done, the nail techs cut my fingers when filing. and i've noticed that it's because they're usually not looking at what they're doing. i'm disappointed because i love coming here but i hate leaving in pain. today i got cut three times and started to bleed. the nail tech didn't seem to care or think it was a big deal, she put on some antiseptic and carried on. but she still continued to file down where i was bleeding and cut me more. i was not offered any kind of discount for their mistakes and my pain and i was too annoyed and in pain to argue about prices. i just got a gift card for myself to keep coming in but now i'm considering a new salon and it makes me sad read more

My nails were done very well but the service was horrendous. Not only was one of my friends called a bitch and the tech even said she'd punch her in the face, we were called black bitches and broke. They were unaware that our friend was Vietnamese and fluent in the language. The tech and her daughter were both rude and continued to call us broke and even going as far as to say that one friend's accounts must be fraudulent and not hers and that we all probably only had $20.
