I made an appointment to get my shellac removed and for a manicure. Another guest walked in and the nail lady was working on the both of us at the same time (they were not busy). Which is annoying... because what was the point of making an appointment? The nail tech was incredibly rushed and did a shotty job. I actually went home and re-filed my nails and re-trimmed my cuticles. Total cost was $30 ($10 removal, $20 mani). Honestly, just pay the extra $10 and go somewhere else that will actually give your nails the care and attention it deserves. They also did not do a good job at removing the shellac. At about 4:30 PM on a Saturday I whined to my husband "I need a pedicure" and was told to go get one. I obviously didn't have an appointment, so my usual place, which is generally packed even with an appointment was out of the question. I quickly Google searched the area around our house and found Diva Nails. They take walk ins so I just walked the two blocks over, thinking if they couldn't take me in I'd hit up the Mexican restaurant across the street for a margarita and call it a night. When I got there they were obviously busy but told me a pedicure would be no problem. I sat in reception and looked through the nine million gel colors they offer and kept receiving apologies for the wait (which was not at all bad). Both women working were so sweet, and once I did get seated it was one of the best pedicures I've ever had. Such a good massage, and a lot of skin care, which is the absolute best. When it came time to pay I was shocked at how cheap it was for the quality, and they AGAIN apologized to me for the wait. First of all, I would wait an hour to have this same experience over again. Second of all, not your fault. I'll be back as soon as my gel polish grows out because I have definitely found my new spot! read more

I really like the people who work here - they have great work ethic and good choices of colors for nail design. The pedicure is very thorough and relaxing. I cannot say enough good things about the pedicures! Now as for manicures, I have had powder dips done here twice and both time they chipped and or broke not long after having them done. I think the problem has to do with the topcoat they use as it doesn't create a strong/shiny seal over the powder dip nails. I went back once after the second visit and the owner filed the nails down and applied a different topcoat to see if that would fare better, but it did not. I ended up filing my own nails two days later and applying my own topcoat at home, which worked out just fine. They are open on Sundays until about 7pm which is great - more than I can say about any other local salons! Call for appointments as they get busy with walk-ins on weekend afternoons! read more

Worst place I've ever been, I told the lady to literally stop doing my nails half way thru because she was hurting me clipping skin, holding drill/nail file on my nail bed so long it was burning me I had pulled away multiple times letting her know it was painful and she said I'll be fine. I've been getting my nails done every other week for 20 years and never felt that before nor had anyone stop in the middle I told her let me know what my total was so I can pay and that I was going to another spot, another girl that worked there decided to finish my nails. It's been 1 week later I'm not even ready for a fill there is literally no grow out and everyone of my nails are already lifting! Came in to get acrylics removed since they were a few weeks grown out. Was the closest place to me. Walked in and there were no customers; asked for an acrylic removal and they immediately got to it. Staff was really nice. I never get acrylics so I'm not sure how the removal process usually is but she used I think another fake nail to remove my acrylics by digging underneath my acrylics?? Some came off easily and other nails were painful but the woman doing my removal was not gentle AT ALL. Another woman came in and I think she began to rush. Nail beds are super thin now but perhaps that's just having acrylics in general. But she cut them square and filed them poorly so when I came home and changed my nails got caught on the fabric and broke. Cost 10.50 for removal. read more

So...I decided to spoil my feet for once and after this experience, I believe I will do so more often. Whole experience was good for $20. Plenty of polish colors to pick from and celebrity gossip magazines to read. And oh, how can I forget the big, flat screen TV placed in an angle that every customer can watch. My feet got some tender-loving-care with a soak in warm water, mini-massage, and rubbed with these lotions and scrubs to smooth out my calluses. Felt so tickly good! And a big ++++, the chairs were massaging chairs! So, while you wait, you can enjoy a nice back massage. Only minus....hmmm, the alcohol smell? It was overwhelming but otherwise, a good indication that they're sanitizing their tools right? I will return. read more

Great service! I went in after being disappointed with several nail salons. Not only did they fix the bad job done by last place by completely taking off the old acrylics, but they took their time and didn't rush like most places do. They were all very sweet, accommodating, and humorous despite the language barrier. As far as quality goes, I'm satisfied. The acrylic set looks great. I came in with a picture in mind and they replicated it exactly. Only complaint is that they had four different people working on me at one pint, but I actually understood their reasoning for it since they had three walk-ins right at closing time. The setup is a little lower quality than most, but it's worth it for the quality and service. The girl working on my nails was unsanitary, rude, and ready to get it over with. She didn't ask what color Polish I wanted or how I wanted my nails shaped. She also buffed my nails so hard the edges started bleeding. I also didn't see her wash her tools after my blood got on it. The Polish itself is thick, uneven, and the nails are so short and lopsided. $40 for a 20min service that I was rushed through. I left with nail clippings all over my dress and cotton stuck to the tips of my nails. Not coming back ever. read more

The sign is a little hard to spot if you're driving on Lake City Way so keep your eyes peeled for them. They are tucked next to a breakfast joint in a little plaza with a parking lot around the corner. The ladies at Diva Nails are very nice and take good care of your hands and feet. My roomie and I both got a mani and pedi for $30 each. I got french tips for my fingers and she got them for her toes. This deal cannot be beat, I tell you! It was a student special and we didn't even have to show our student IDs... (I'm not even a student anymore.) But anyway, they were really gentle and efficient and they're such hard working people. We went on Sunday afternoon right before closing. Yelp says they close at 5:30 p.m. but their door sign says 5 p.m. They were working until 6 p.m. We tipped well because they were really good at what they did and so committed to customer service. They take walk-ins but I recommend calling before hand to make sure they have space for you. They also have some kind of rewards card where you get one point for every dollar spent and then it adds up to free manicures, pedicures, etc. I definitely will be back!!! read more

Just moved to Seattle from Arizona and was looking for a new nail place close to my house. Found Diva Nails on Yelp and decided to try them out for a pedicure. (Called ahead to make an appt - definitely advised because they were busy!) The lady that did my pedicure did a nice job from and the massage was really nice too :) The polish is even and applied well. Also got my eyebrows waxed...another lady came right over to the chair with a "wax cart" and did my eyebrows while my toes were being painted....nothing like efficiency (though sometimes I'd just like to relax and not feel like they are trying to push me out the door). I'll be going back to get a gel manicure as soon as I'm in need ...if they past that test I'll be a frequent flyer :) read more

I am really disappointed in acrylic full set I received yesterday afternoon. I walked in and they were available and happy to give me service. They have plenty of colors to choose from, and I went for a light color, but they showed no hesitancy. I decided to go for a full set. I am a nail-biter, but hadn't bitten a nail in over a week and wanted a bit of pampering. Plus, I am an actress, and I am in a musical that opens this week. I wanted pretty nails for my show. My first complaint was that they didn't touch a single cuticle. That's where I need the most help. They're in rough shape and they didn't even look twice at them. Secondly, the shape is okay, but the acrylic is THICK, and the shape isn't consistent from nail to nail. Lastly, while I chose a color that was harder to work with, he slapped it on, with little precision and tons of patches. I was beyond disappointed. I will be going back to my former nail place this afternoon to get when fixed, and not returning to Diva. read more

I honestly didn't plan to go here but after being blown off by my go-to salon for the last few days I decided to branch out--and boy am I glad I did. I called beforehand and they were able to get me a spot as soon as I could arrive which was pleasant. Everyone was super nice and friendly too so that was another bonus for me while taking this leap of faith into a new nail salon. Here's where it became a game changer for me. Lee is the epitome of a nail technician--a true artist. I can tell he really takes pride in his work and it shows. All I had to do, aside from pick my shape and color, was to show him a picture of what I wanted & he did not disappoint! He works deliberately and efficiently while maintaining an elegance about his gestures like one would when painting or sculpting. He does not rush through the process either which I am so thankful for. He has the perfect pace to get you in and out without sacrificing the crucial patience needed to make a masterpiece. Lee made sure my nails looked perfect from every angle which is something you don't often get when the prices are as good as they are here. I think customers often forget that the costs start at the menu price and may deviate quite a lot depending on what you ask for. For what I asked for and what I paid, I was shocked when the end result was so beautiful for such a great price. It allowed me to tip higher to show how much I appreciated the outcome of my nails. This is my go-to nail spa, I have tried a few in the neighborhood and decided this is the best one. They do tend to get busy and try their best to get to everyone- but sometimes you do end up waiting a bit, if you go often you start to understand their peak times. The color selection is great, the women (and men) are friendly, professional and do a great job every time. I have made some goofs and ruined a nail or two in my time, but they are always willing to help me out. I usually get gel manicure, I have gotten pedicures and waxing done too, all have been great. Went for gel mani and pedis with my mom and sister. Their mani and pedicure were underwhelming-not the best not the worst the problem was they didn't last a full week before lifting at the cuticles/ tips. I got a full set and I could tell when she was doing it; it wasn't going to be the best set I'd ever gotten, but when I left the salon I could tell it was really terribly done. Pooled gel and acrylic all around the cuticles, extremely uneven at the base of my cuticles and very, very thin with hardly any apex. As I expected I could see some lifting around day 3 and lost an entire nail by day 7. I went back for a fill and explained what happened, to the same nail tech who did my first set. I tipped very well for my first set and expected they would be kind enough to discount the fill- it had only been 7 days, hardly any growth but the manicure looked 3 weeks old(I work in an office setting and a manicure can normally last 2 1/2 to 3 weeks). They did not offer me a discount so I did not leave a tip. 2nd set looks a lot better, but extremely disappointed in customer service. She even told me 45$ for the fill at her station and then charged me 47$ at the till. They had already lost any future business from me so I didn't argue. I would recommend avoiding this shop unfortunately. read more

I was a virgin to the whole pedicure thing til yesterday. Damn, I have been missing out on a relaxing procedure. I have been told by my wife, that my feet/toes are ugly. So with my wife still out of town, thought I would surprise her, and see if they could work magic on me. When walking in to the salon, the place was pretty packed. Ladies getting there nails, brows done...but all attention turned to me, when I announced to the hostess that I wanted a pedicure. The massage chairs are huge, as I started the pedi..thats short for pedicure, I know my salon lingo. The lady worked magic on my nails, gave my feet a much needed massage, and rubbed some nice lotion into my feet. I had two ladies on either side of me, giving me suggestions for color on my nails. Since my goth days are over...I went with a boring clear and shiny coat. So in short Diva nails rocks, they gave me water to drink, and were very nice. The price was 20 dollars, and I was in there for at least 40 min. So guys do yourselves a favor...and run to Diva, and get pampered. read more

I have been a bridesmaid 12 times in my life. 12 times. I kid you not. And of those 12 times, only once have I been required to get a pedicure. ONCE. That last time? That was the one time I was required to get a pedicure. So believe it or not, I got my first pedicure as a 31 year old. The bride-to-be was HORRIFIED by this, it should be noted. So there we were, three bridesmaids, a bride, and the mom of the bride, all invading this poor little nail salon. Note: the bride made sure to call and make reservations in advance - I wouldn't recommend bringing a large group like that in for a walk-in. That's kind of cruel. :) We all chose our nail color and then plopped into the pedi chairs to begin what I was sure to be torture. I'm ticklish...I'm REALLY ticklish...on my feet, so I spent a lot of time praying that I wouldn't kick the poor woman in the face. The foot bath was nice. Hot water on the feet, especially for someone who spends a lot of her work day up and moving and is also a runner, is a very nice feeling. I'd have been content with that...and I even made it through the trimming/shaping of nails okay...but once they got out the scrub, I knew it was going to be downhill. The gal who I had was polite about my squirming and giggling and attempts at deep breathing/meditation to put my mind elsewhere (it IS mind over matter, right?) and we both came out the other end unscathed. In the end, I've got to say that my toes have never looked so good. I chose an OPI polish - thanks for the suggestion here - and later, when I got home, I applied a layer of my own clear polish and two weeks later it still looked perfect. I kid you not. SO: the ticklish part is not my thing but man did my feet look amazing. I may have to try and get used to this. Price was fantastic. Mani wasn't bad, I've gotten a lot of manicurists who like giving deep tissue massages and that always feels nice so anything less than that isn't enough for me. Sooo what does a girl like myself do first when she finds herself living in a new city? Find a new nail salon, of course. The fabulous Yelpers of Seattle led me to Diva Nails, where the ladies did a efficient, thorough, neat job, the place was clean, and a pedicure only cost me $20. I know, I know...in the land of granola and North Face, beer and outdoor sports, mani/pedis aren't really on the top of many people's list. But my nails look kickass and scrubbed and buffed clean, so under the rainboots I gots purrrdy feets. TIPS: (Everyone likes USEFUL tips, I see) *To the missus with the chipped big toe...it is not the nail salon or the pedicurists fault about the quality of the polish. If you choose nail polish that is not OPI, Essie or even China Glaze, you cannot guarantee staying power. I only choose colors under these brands, and at home I follow up with a clear top coat. The result? Unchipped nails for months. *Call ahead. They will tell you if they can see you immediately or if you need to make an appt. It's similar to restaurants, they can only accomodate a few walk-ins at a time. read more

Finally! A nail place that is clean and efficient! I went in for a spa pedicure and a shellac manicure and it turned out very well! I had two gals working on my feet and hands at the same time. They still don't use the whole reall shellac process; they use the Gelish top and base coats, but they do use shellac polishes. I understand that Gelish is cheaper, but it is annoying that places keep toting that they do shellac when they don't really. Regardless, my nails look great, and my manicure hasn't chipped, unlike the last time I had Gelish. Prices were also very competitive, with the shellac manicure being $25 and a pedicure being $20. They do have early morning specials; if you go in before noon a pedicure is only $17. Next time I need my nails done I'll go back here! read more

I live just down the street from this place, and I thought it would be convenient to get my nails done after my hair at Crew Cuts right next door. I have been to Diva three times (two times too many, but I was hoping they would get better). Be warned, the ladies that work here do not speak English very well, so it is hard to communicate what you want if it is not exactly what is on the menu. I had no appointment, and I got the distinct feeling that they were annoyed with me for walking in. The woman who did my last mani there cut my cuticles until they bled, and applied the gel to my nails far too thick. Also, the chemical fumes, although not the worst of any salon I've been in, were potent enough to make me feel lightheaded. I did not get a hand massage, and the whole process felt rushed. My only complaint is that they did not *completely* remove all of my old nail polish around the edges of one nail.
