First time in and I was so impressed with my nail tech, Sunny was so kind, professional, and made sure all my needs were accommodated. I am sooo happy with my full set of ombré nails. The shape is beautiful, the colors are blended so well & they couldn't be more gorgeous. She paid attention to every detail, 100% went above and beyond. The pedicure was soooo relaxing, my toes were a lot of work, but they put the effort into getting my cuticles and calluses cleaned up. It's literally been over a year since I've had my feet tended to. The exfoliating scrub and massage were pure bliss... and the hot stone & paraffin were icing on the cake- and the warm towel rub was def the sprinkles on the icing lol. I have been going to ST nails for awhile now. They do great, long-lasting gel pedicures and good manicures. Normally I would give it 5 stars. Taking off a star because....Last time I went a new employee was sitting around on her phone watching loud videos without a headset. The noise was distracting and annoying, and clashed with the usual HGTV sound and quiet. She even blared the sound in a backroom without a headset. This really put a damper on the usually serene and mellow vibe. I come here normally when I'm visiting from SF and I haven't had a great experience but this time was awful. The tip was broken off one nail so I just went in for a fill. She did a messy job on the color, kept hitting my cuticles and hurting me throughout and at the end charged me an additional $8 for fixing one nail - I have never been charged separately for this when going in for a fill, it's always included as a part of the fill. Absolutely do not recommend. Updating to include a photo of when I went to get them fixed, they cracked in less than a week and one turned green because of what they did. read more

I was housesitting up in Wedgewood and wasn't able to get to my usual local mail spot. I tried a couple and this was the only place that was open, and would accept walk-ins. It is conveniently located in a small group of shops with adequate parking on a corner with easy access. I showed up and was greeted by friendly workers. The lady who did my pedicure was very nice and asked me questions about length, etc before she started. I really appreciated that everybody working didn't chat among themselves and get distracted as often is the case in my usual place. She did and excellent job and was thorough and pleasant. In checking out they gave me a card for get 10+1 deal and I also got a card to refer my friend. The manager has a great sense of humor and laughed at my silly jokes even. I hate to post this but I feel like it's important to address the poor situation we encountered. There were some serious sanitation concerns. My friend and I were walk ins. 1.) My friend's mani-pedi took all of 30 minutes together. They didn't clean, cut, or file her hand or toe nails. Zero cuticles cut and zero shaping. Her paint was not put on evenly and her cuticles were painted over. It felt rushed. 2.) My nails were "filed" with the rubber end of a file. It was obvious that the file was old and not serviceable. Did not receive nail shaping, cleaning, cuticle care, or cleaning under the nails. 3.) My friend and I noticed that the tools use for her feet and my feet looked similar. It seems they were rinsed in the bathroom and then sprayed with alcohol to use on my feet. All of the towels that were used were already wet, ripped, or in my case dirty. Total was 40 dollars for services and my friends was 60. It was a negative experience. I hope they consider a change in their process and improving their sanitation standards. read more

They had a great selection of colors, but seemed understaffed. I requested a pedicure and removal of my shellac set. They forgot about the shellac removal and seemed like they were trying to move me along to make space for the next group coming in. The removal was rough and left my nails kind of jagged. We went to this place because we heard they have great nail art, but my daughters Easter design was an egg on her thumb and it just seemed odd overall. This place is so hit or miss. Today was a miss. Walked in and there were four people working and no clients. But they still insisted on doing my manicure while I was in the pedicure chair (which I absolutely hate--it's so uncomfortable, and I feel like neither service goes very well). *No foot massage* (second time this year I've gone there for a pedicure and not received a foot massage!). I mean, she sort of rubbed some hot rocks around the tops of my feet, set my feet on the rocks, then did my polish. I thought she was going to do the massage after (I had gel polish). But no, she just patted me and walked away. Mani massage was this weird light sort of pinching up and down my arm for a couple of minutes. And my "cat eye" polish is just diagonal stripes across each nail, uneven between hands because she insisted on doing my manicure from the pedicure chair so couldn't match left and right properly. Came in for a mani/pedi lured by the 20% off first time visit special listed on Yelp. Unfortunately it is expired & Yelp still had it up. Also, I've noticed there is usually a weird groove/uneven application on my pointer and middle fingers making them look very fake and tacky. I kept trying because they are close to my work and affordable. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and allowed them to fix a few of my missing nails, but the nails I received were often rushed and low quality as they tried to get me out the door before closing. I've been going here for years. Sue runs a great nail salon and is happy to try to accommodate walk-ins whenever staffing allows. Staff is skilled and observes excellent health/safety protocols. I recommend scheduling your appointment if you go on Fridays or Saturdays as those are usually busy and potentially lots of walk-ins. Excellent selection of gel polish colors; some of the regular polish could use some new hues, but they're all popular anyway it seems. Salon is clean, well lighted and has massage pedicure chairs, but the massage chair is not a necessity for me. read more

I have been a loyal customer (with a few emergency departures) at ST Nails for eight years. Sue, the owner is an absolute master at her craft and does a wonderful job keeping staff for several years so you can get used to and comfortable with everyone at her salon. I drive 30 minutes out of my way to have my manicures done here. That is quite a testimony given the fact that I live on Queen Anne and don't ever leave the downtown area since everything I need is walking distance. Apart from having a great relationship with Sue, the foundation in the beginning was that I noticed all of the tools that are used are fresh and cleaned for every client. The tools come out of a sealed bag. I'm super conscious about this because I'm terrified of transferable bacteria and infections like hepatitis. If you have delicate skin, this is the place for you. They go out of their way to be gentle (do give them a heads up). Other salons always cut me, but I never get cut and bleed when Sue or her team do my pedicure and shellac. Her shop is very busy; and there is not much in the way of waiting room. I highly recommend calling and making an appointment at least 24 hours in advance. From a price standpoint, she charges a bit more than other salons. I usually pay about $100 give or take for my pedicure and shellac fills (cats eye or special paint jobs cost a bit more). Keep in mind you are paying for high hygienic, quality nails and a great massage. All in all, I love the workmanship and the gentle service. It's worth the drive and the monetary difference of closer salons. read more

It's my neighborhood nail salon so I've gone here a couple of times. Each time I go, I've gotten pretty good service and have enjoyed the service I received. They take their time with you and make sure you enjoy what you're getting, and encourage you to come back if something happens within the next day or so. With this being said, the salon does get packed at time and sometimes you maybe have to wait a bit longer. But I'm okay with that because I know I'll be taken care of. If you're in a rush or so, you can tell them and they'll try to work with you, or they'll just let you know that they're busy so it's going to be a long wait or to just come back later. All the workers there are very sweet, kind, and do a great job at what they do. At times it seems like they can be short staff so you could be seeing a couple of people working on your nails. They have a wide selection of shellac nail polish, regular polish, and dip. They offer candy, water, coffee, tea, etc. and have two televisions that are set on HGTV (I don't mind this though). I've gotten acrylics, shellac manicures, pedicures and dip from this location and haven't had an issue with any of them. The pedicure chairs are comfortable and give nice massages as you sit and relax. I love that they give you nice leg massage and take their time with it! This goes for their manicures as well, they also give you a nice neck/shoulder massage in addition to the hand/arm. I gave it a 4/5 stars because it's a bit pricier than others and the parking lot can get filled pretty quick (but there's a lot of street parking near). I love my nails. I have a wedding Saturday and needed my nails done fast! I called this location to see if they were available at that moment. They took me in instantly! It was the usual, you chose your color when they cut & shape your nails. They were so efficient, friendly, & boy oh boy were their massages like none I've ever received at a nail salon! OMG I thought to myself they really put their back into it LOL! I left relaxed & happy! Only reason I gave 4 stars is because of the price. Finding a nail shop can be an incredible task. I was actually on my way to their other shop didn't realize that they are affiliated but makes sense. I came in about 30 mins before closing. They still were gracious and willing to complete my nails knowing it would be way past 7. I didn't feel rushed and my nails are probably the best I've seen in forever. I'm very disappointed. --The Past-- I've been to ST Nails six times for shellac manicures. The first five visits were over eight months ago. (The only reason I stopped going was because I read an article about skin cancer and shellac manicures.) I thought the shop was remarkable. --Friday, August 23-- I left work early to get a birthday shellac manicure and standard pedicure. Unfortunately: -The Shellac Polish starts 2-3 mm after my cuticle (I measured with a ruler). (Please see pictures with purple polish and sparkles) -By the time I arrived home, I noticed that the polish on my pinky and ring-finger toes had smudged off. (I didn't post pictures, because my toes are unattractive) -I painted over my pedicure on the same day. -My Shellac Polish is chipping on 3 nails (very unusual for Shellac). ---------------------------------------The WORST PART--------------------------------------- I left the shop disappointed. After some thought, I called them back to voice my concern. They asked me to come back to the shop. Upon arrival (15 minute drive), they told me that shellac manicures start lower on the fingernail, because the polish will peel off if it is too close to the top of the nail. They said, "it must be your first shellac manicure." They didn't acknowledge the problem. They also didn't fix it. This was my sixth shellac manicure from ST Nails (also done by the same woman). Big Bummer! I wish I spent the money on something else. I've had two days to think about it, and it's still a bummer. I hope you have a better experience than I did. I've been a regular here for years and it's really gone down hill recently. Gone are the days of an actual pedicure with a good soak and exfoliation and leg massage. Everything is rushed and my feet are rougher than when I came in. The polish selection is great with regular and gel options and I never have a problem getting in without an appointment. I just wish I was getting the same full service I used to. Edited to add: they recently upgraded their pedicure seats and now use single use plastic liners. I'm all for sanitary but I hate seeing plastics used in this way unnecessarily. read more

Best Shellac manicure in Wedgwood (so far)!! I've been to several other nail salons in Wedgwood and definitely say you won't be disappointed with your Shellac manicure at ST Nails. Too bad the Seahawks aren't playing this weekend because my blue manicure still looks great! Extra tip: avoid Kawaii Nails--shellac often wears off or fully chips off after just one week. Older nail tech cut 4 of my fingers up chopping at my cuticles, then tried to blame me...saying it wouldn't happen if I got a manicure more frequently. WTF??Should it really matter how often I get my nails done? I wouldn't recommend Peony Nails either. Only went there once. The nail tech didn't use a base coat. The next time I went (somewhere else), they couldn't remove the polish. Soaking in acetone several rounds of it, scraping, and filing ultimately removed about 70% of polish, before the tech gave up and painted over the old polish (per my approval). That old polish remained even after the paint-over Polish was removed. The Polish is finally gone after about 4 manicures (approx 6 months) due to just my nails growing out. read more

Fast, affordable, personable. I live across the street and I just went here for the first time yesterday. They were really busy but super accommodating. I got my first shellac manicure and it was a great deal. They also do discounts for first time visitors. For me it was 100% worth the extra cost. I'm an artist who works with kids and it's impossible for me not to **** up my mani within five minutes. I was able to just walk out and get my cards and wallet out with no dents or smearing. This place is AWFUL. Despite having marble color be an option, they do not know how to do it. They spilled blue dye all over my fingers and leg which did not come off with acetone or soap. They nicked 2 of my fingers and one of my toes. I was charged $35 for a color change (no fill) they filed my nails unevenly even tho I told them I only wanted a color change. The $52 pedicure they gave me was a joke. They didnt scrub my feet or massage or nothing. My feet were in water for maybe 5 minutes total. All in all a terrible experience. What a shame they have such good reviews which is what led to me going there. read more

I love ST Nails! I've been going there for many years since my grandma would give me a gift card every Christmas. Recently I've been getting my acrylics done by Jennifer, who is the absolute best! When I went to get my acrylics filled from a different place she saw how bad they were done before, and explained why they kept breaking and turning a weird color. Jennifer removed them for free and put on a full new set. She was very gentle with the removal where it has always hurt at other places. The new set looked amazing and I've been going back every 2 weeks for fills for 2 months. My nails aren't breaking or turning a weird color anymore, and she is very thorough every time I come in.
