Derek took excellent care of my Road King for me. I needed the rear tire replaced, a 3 hole service and a couple accessories installed. Not only did he get everything done professionally, but also very quickly. While he had the rear wheel off, he discovered that I needed rear brake pads. He had them in stock and saved me time and money by catching that and replacing them so that my bike would be road ready and safe. Motorcycle shops are extremely busy this time of year due to it being riding season. He's currently the only one running the shop, so give him some grace with time. However, he knocked my services out very quickly and did a great job. I will continue to do business with Derek and I recommend everyone else in the area to give him a shot. Co- owner and lead technician Derek Weingarten - condescending A$$hole. Although I'm within walking distance, I was hesitant to go here after reading the other bad reviews. However, I wanted to give them the opportunity to do business with me. Unfortunately, the other reviews were right, as were some personal opinions of friends. I think Derek may bi-polar or have some other disorder. One minute he's speaking normal answering your questions, then all of a sudden switches on you as if how dare you walk into his shop to get work on your bike done. Very aggressive, similar to those recent cellphone captured clips of flight attendants berating passengers. Polar opposite of any attempt to earn my trust or any future referrals I might bring. Ultimately, I turned around walked out as he asked to take down my information. I won't give this business a dime after my experience here and I hope no one after me does either. I can't imagine what it might be like dealing with these people if there was a mistake done on your bike or had a billing issue? Headaches already and they hadn't even laid a finger on my precious bike. read more

I highly don't recommend these people if I could I would give them no stars!!!! I left my bike in there for 2 and 1/2 months and they didn't even take the time to look at it!and I only needed to get my carbs cleaned and a new starter put in that I had brought so they didn't need to order any parts!!! at the end I had to pick my bike up and take it sum where better! read more

I want to give a lot of props to Cutters Custom Cycles. They are right off the New Bern/Knightdale Blvd exit of 540. I took my bike to them to get my tires and brake fluid changed and their prices were a lot less expensive than anywhere else. Believe me, I called at least 10 places. The guys who work there, Derek and Joe, were awesome dudes. The turnaround was very quick. I dropped the bike off right before they closed and the next day they had it ready. When I picked it up something happened to my carburetor on the way home. I took it back and they immediately began working on it for me. The next day I came by and something was still going on and right there while I waited both guys tore into it and fixed the entire thing. They were great guys, very professional, and their rates were great for the work done. I am very happy to have found Cutters and any work I have done in the future will be with them. The carb problems were not their fault, it just happened to occur after I left their shop, but they were great in their attention. Out of all the mechanics and shops I have ever gone to for anything car or motorcycle related they treated me the best. I was pretty clearly not educated regarding the way a carb works but they still showed me what they did and explained everything. read more

If I could give no stars I would. DON'T TAKE YOUR PRECIOUS BIKE HERE!!!! Place is a ripoff with shoddy work. I took my busa here to get dyno and Derek the guy that works there claimed he did a dyno on my power commander and yoshi exhaust busa. BULL because a day later I read the map and it was set for a 750cc bike and the red flag was it said it was pushing 158hp ON A BUSA???? I asked why it says "KATANA" on my dyno map paperwork if he did it right and he said " ah it don't matter". Yea it don't matter because it was not done or he had no idea what he was doing. I had them also put on tires that they did not even balance.. Again DEREK Amy's "oh that does not matter" really??? What a joke of a place. I was going to ask for a refund or for them to do it over but you know I figured I know far too many riders and instead chose to tell them all and the people they know to NOT go to this place. The CHEAP price they claim is there "if you get cheap quote" because this is a cheap ripoff place..BEWARE!!!!! Now this guy that posted on here (Eric) is giving a good rating but is it just me or is something fishy with bringing your bike in for oil change and all of a sudden you get a carb issue that cutters can"tear right in and fix right then and there????"
