I've been taking my older daughter, Anya Shah, to Cutting Edge since she was 8. She started pitching in the Mountain View rec softball league, and after getting some experience in travel ball, she was motivated to improve her game. A quick search led us to Cutting Edge, and from the start, Coach Leann and Coach Terry impressed us with their strong emphasis on pitching fundamentals. Over the years, she has also played in the Palo Alto league and with several elite travel clubs in the area. Even with a 45-minute drive each way, we've stayed committed because it's completely worth it. Within just a few weeks, I could already see Anya developing key skills, especially with her fastball. Coach Leann has a great ability to understand that every player is different and makes small, thoughtful adjustments to help each athlete improve steadily. One thing I really value is that they don't rush into teaching new pitches until the current one is fully mastered. That focus on fundamentals makes a big difference compared to trying to learn everything at once, which often doesn't last. What truly sets Cutting Edge apart is how they build on what your daughter already brings, instead of trying to completely change her style. Over the past eight years, they've been consistent, thoughtful, and incredibly effective, and we recommend them to everyone. Beyond pitching, Coach Ron has also been excellent, helping Anya develop strong hitting fundamentals. Today, she plays for an elite travel ball team and is a varsity starter at a top high school, and much of that growth is thanks to Coach Leann, Coach Terry, Coach Ron, and the entire Cutting Edge staff. Great place if you're serious about improving your pitching. Coach Teri is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and knows how to break things down in a way that actually makes sense. Been bringing my daughter here for two and a half years and we have taken lessons with Teri, Leann, and Ron. All are excellent instructors in their own fields. There are other coaches there as well that currently play for SJSU, so bringing high level technical instruction as well as mental toughness. This is my first yelp review and it's worth writing. My 12 year old daughter began coming here for pitching lessons in March 2021 at age 11. It's been a little over six months and she's gone from never pitching before in her life to striking out batters in our recreational league 1-2-3. Last week she threw 7 pitches for 3 outs. Her pitching velocity is now 40 mph. Her pitching coach is Teri Danenberg. My daughter looks forward to coming to Cutting Edge Softball because "Teri is really nice and I really like her games." She really looks up to her. She's also worked with Ron for hitting and fielding practice a handful of times and he's obviously excellent as well. His schedule is typically fully booked. There always seems to be a lot of energy, focus and laughter at CES. I enjoy catching for my daughter and learning the extra pitching, hitting and fielding tips myself. read more

Our daughter started lessons to improve her stance, technique, and speed. She takes hitting and pitching lessons from Terri and has improved so much in the last year. Not only has her game improved, but the change in her confidence is phenomenal. She feels comfortable and in control and is improving her game IQ with every lesson. My daughter is 10 years old playing on a 10u travel team. We started pitching lessons with coach Teri a year ago. The improvement over the year has been remarkable. My 10 year old daughter has been taking pitching lessons with Leann and hitting lessons with Ron and she loves it. I saw a huge improvement on her game. She has been taking lessons at Cutting Edge for little over a year and also had chance to work with other coaches as well and all of them are fantastic coaches. I can not say enough good things about this place. My older daughter took pitching and hitting lessons here for years and is now playing at the D2 level. My younger daughter has been taking pitching and hitting here for 4 years now. And she has developed into a good little player. Cutting Edge staff really know how to take kids to the next level. They are not cheap, but you get quality instructors in a quality facility. And the instructors really care about the kids. You can't go wrong with Cutting Edge Softball. My daughter took lessons there from the age of seven through high school and ended up playing in the PAC 12. Leann gave us sound advice all of the way through as well as she and her staff give a great value in skill building. On top of that, they make lessons enjoyable. Leann and her staff are awesome. My daughter is a senior in HS, and she has been working with Leann for the last three years. She has grown tremendously as a pitcher, and even more so as a person, since working with Leann. They have a great relationship, they talk pitching, academics, College and life. I would highly recommend Cutting Edge, it is such a family feel. My only wish is that we started with her earlier. We've had several pitching coaches over the years, and this is by far the best coaching we've encountered. We recently stared hitting with Coach Ron, and he is amazing. If you are serious about getting extra work or about taking your kid to the next level, Cutting Edge Softball is the way. I was one of those dad's that was sure I could teach my kids everything... let's just say ever since I came to my senses and signed both kids up with Cutting Edge, they have taken off. Staff is great, and very knowledgeable. Every time I would try to hit with my kids or pitch, it would usually end in tears. So thank you Cutting Edge, now I sit back and keep my mouth shut.
