Got my haircut done by Hilary and she was very personable and made sure she cut my hair the way I wanted it. She also took notes and put them in their computer so that if I get another stylist they know how to cut my hair. The owner was also cutting someone's hair next to me and she was also very very personable and seems to drive a customer service culture! We came here based on the great reviews on Yelp so I thought we should add our own. I called for an appointment yesterday morning but since we had never been, and didn't know who to request, we were encouraged to just drop in. Even though they were packed, we didn't wait even 10 minutes before someone was available. Mary cut my son's hair and it was the first time in his 12 years that he loved and was actually excited about his haircut! Usually, the stylist doesn't listen when I explain that we want to keep it on the longer side because he has difficult cowlicks that stick up when his hair is short. Mary listened though! And she cut it the perfect length and style. We are so glad we finally found a place that we know we can return to again and again. While he was getting his cut, I watched a number of other men walk in and out with great cuts- all of the stylists seem fantastic! I always get my hair cut by Kristen and she never disappoints. I brought in a picture of Pink's haircut and I bring it in everytime I get touched up and she does an amazing job. She really takes her time and is very detailed. She's so friendly and comfortable to talk to. I only recently began going to this place, followed my amazing stylist, Brittany here. This is one of the best places I've gone for a hair cut in Richmond. Everyone is extremely nice and helpful. I've noticed there are a lot of stylists working so if you're not waiting on a particular stylist, you won't wait long, (although I highly recommend Brittany). I'm so glad that she transitioned to this place. If you're looking for the perfect fade, line-up, and beard maintenance, Brittany is an expert and has been my stylists for 5+ years. Also, it's great that they have TV's with ESPN running at each chair, that's a huge bonus. read more

This is a great place to get a haircut! I believe it's a much better place than the Sportclips not to far from this location. It's very quiet here and peaceful. I get my haircut from LeighAnn. She's wonderful! She always does a great job every single time. She's been my hairstylist for almost two years now! The staff here is really nice and friendly. What's cool is that you can look up a specific hairstylist's schedule for the week on their website. That way you don't have to call every single to see if your preferred hairstylist is working that day. This place is not really crowded with people. I've probably seen it crowded once or twice, but it's really rare. Definitely recommend this place! read more

Wow. Why haven't I found this place sooner. Living in the west end it's been hard to find somebody who can give me a great haircut and not butcher it. I had my haircut by Margie. Who I believe is one of the owners. Very personable, and talkative and I like that. Asked about my pet, talked about softball, etc. Great haircut, she trimmed up my goatee, straight razor neck shave and a amazzzzzzzzzzing shampoo. I will definitely be back. This place has a great staff and a great customer service, which it's hard to find from other haircut establishments (e.g. Sports clips, barber shops). The stylists are very attentive to your particular needs and keep meticulous records of your hair preferences (e.g. Length, style, special instructions). They go as far as posting all stylist working schedules, in case you have a preference. Even though, all of the stylist are great, I prefer Megan, because she is consistent, courteous, and professional. read more

First time in. Folks were nice. Told the stylist just a simple haircut, off the ears, trim, shape up. GOT PEELED. Can't even pull the hair on the side. Feel like wearing a hat to work. Spoke to the manager who was very responsible. The stylist didn't listen and gave me probably the only haircut she knows how to give. Won't be back. My husband and son have been getting their haircut here since it opened. They have used many of the staff, always with a great outcome. They always leave happy, having had great customer service and feeling welcomed! Our son is Autistic, he can have sensory issues but these ladies make it easy! After moving to Richmond, I was really nervous about finding a new place to cut my hair since I'd been going to the same barber for years. I can be kind of picky when it comes to the quality of my haircut, but Cutz for Guys blew me away! My barber, Kristin, took her time with me, which means a lot because the couple places I'd been to before this had me in and out in about 5 minutes, and I'd always find spots they missed. But with Cutz for Guys I didn't have that problem at all, and I left with a haircut that still has me feeling amazing. Totally worth the 30 minute drive to get here! read more

I have been going to Kristin for about 10 months and have been very pleased with her as my stylist. Decided to grow my hair out after having a buzz cut for some time. Kristin quickly understood the type of cut I wanted eventually (a picture helped) and was able to cut and layer my hair in a nice way during the transition process. She was willing and able to make adjustments along the way when I changed my mind a couple of times. Kristin takes pains to make sure the cut is even, which I appreciate. It was the first time that I went to cut my hair here in US and I was a little afraid of this, but everything was good. I went to Cutz for guys after reading reviews on Yelp. I was afraid because my english is no the best to explain what I wanted, but Valerie, who cut my hair , was really polite and she tried to understand what I was looking for. and the cut was not a 100 % what I was looking for but it was a 80%. I was not expecting she could understand all what I wanted, however, I can say that she did a really good job. if you speak english, you will get 100 % what you need, I am sure. I will go back the next time that I need to cut my hair and I am sure that it will be 100% what I need. I recommend this place. If they can do a good job with my hair, which is straight and complicate , I am sure that they can do a great job with yours. Nice place and good location. I was waiting just 5 minutes. Been here 5 times. And today will probably be the last. This place is really convenient, quick, and bout 2$ cheaper than most places. I've had great experiences here for the most part. Unfortunately, today's haircut was just awful. I didn't have a preference on who cuts my hair so I was greeted by someone new. She asked me if I was getting the same haircut with 1inch on the side like I always get. So I assumed she knew was doing. She gave me a high and tight...but too high apparently. If I had to describe it, I looked like an Asian hitler baby. It was so bad that I had to go to a different salon and shave my hair off. Word of advice: stick to the ladies on the left side of the store. The lady named Kristin, on the far right didn't know what she was doing. read more

I have been to Cutz for Guyz 5 times now... each time I have received a different stylist. And not for the normal reason of not having a good one, but each time I've been so impressed with the speed of service while maintaining a level of quality higher than places that charge twice as much, I've been searching for the "no not that one stylist." I'm happy to report I have not found that stylist, as each has been wonderful. Perhaps the best part is there's no "in fighting" or grumbling that occurs that seems typical in many locations, everybody is super helpful, very friendly, and it's always a great experience. After 5 years, I can still say that this is not only the best value in Richmond for hair care, it is the best overall. Friendly stylist and great haircuts. The neck shave and shampoo is a must. You will not be disappointed in the least. Their selection of hair products is top-notch. I love the new Suavecito Pomade - great smell and easy to style. Been going here for the past 2 yrs. Usually right in & out. I just waited 40 mins while 2 guys went ahead of me because they apparently had "appointments" when it is clearly marked on the door no appointment needed. If you're going to have appointments, that's fine. Just don't advertise "no appointment" and walk ins welcome. I've always had great haircuts from multiple stylists there. This is no reflection on their ability or the staff. I'm just unhappy with the business practice. I only have a couple days a month where I can get a cut. When I have a day, I have limited time within that day. I don't want to wait around to have others go ahead. If I was aware they went to an appointment status, I would have made an appointment ahead of time. I won't be going back however. read more
