Visiting this place for the 5th or 6th time with my 15-year-old daughter always brings the same delightful experience! We initially waited in line for an hour upon arrival, but by around 3:45 PM, there was no wait at all! Be prepared to stand and bring some cash or cards with you to indulge in the delicious and reasonably priced fresh snacks available. You can also warm up next to the fireplace at the Chalet while enjoying your treats. They offer alcoholic beverages as well, however, I am not interested in those. For just $15, you have the opportunity to slide up and down the toboggan chute as many times as you'd like. Make sure to visit soon as they will be closing by the end of March 2026. read more

Came here on a chilly February Sunday around 3:30 pm. I believe you have to make reservations in advance. We decided to go last minute and it was past 2 pm when we tried to reserve tickets (it wouldn't let us). We decided to call the park website and the employee helping me was able to put my name down for the last few slots at 3 pm. That was very kind of them. You are required to wear gloves when you go down on the toboggan (probably to protect your fingers from the cold since you are required to grip ropes). There are a number of stairs you have to climb to get to the top. There were a good amount of people there and we probably needed to wait 15 minutes each time to ride, but the line got shorter as it got closer to closing time. They didn't allow people to enter the line past 4:45 pm since it closes at 5 pm. It was $15 per person but so worth it! What a fun and unique experience. I got to go with my 66 year old dad, my 33 year old sister, and my 18 year old brother as the toboggan sits up to 4. With this many big people on, it made the toboggan go pretty fast! There's a speedometer that calculates your speed for you. It's a little scary but thrilling! Follow the employee's instructions. We even got to race each other because there are 2 chutes. Our respective employees each tried to give our team boosts (my employee hurried to let us out first while the other employee pushed my brother and dad a bit for them to catch up). Grab a few friends throw some warm clothes on and let's go toboggan riding in the middle of the forest on a cold night! So I've never done this before or ever seen anywhere that offers tobogganing before so you know I was down to try it and after the first time I found myself doing this about 6 more times as it was a blast! So I'll take you from the start you gotta walk up these stairs and yes there's a good amount of them and after a few times up it gets easier! Once your at the top they grab the toboggan and put it on the slide for you where you then sit up to 4 all interlocking your feet wile keeping your hands holding the ropes on the toboggan which your totally gonna wanna do as once you take off down the a slope you'll reach speeds of at least 67mph I say that because that's the highest we reached wile your heading down the trail you'll see a speedometer blinking in red it's just after you pass this that you'll hit some carpet like stuff that will stop you so once your done you so know you gotta bike back up the stairs to do it again! It got quite cold here last night so thankfully there's a fire pit outside as well as inside to keep you warm as after a few rides you'll start feeling it so this definitely helped! Inside the chalet you'll find some tables as well as a concession stand that has a few things for you to munch on wile you warm up so this was definitely a plus on the warm side. I'm pretty sure it's like $12 a day to ride I'm not sure because we came here with our work as they rented it out which was totally awesome as we all had a blast! Overall this is a super cool cold and down right fun experience that I very much enjoyed you so know that I'm going to come back here again sometime because wow this was cool! read more

Had a great time this past weekend. It was unseasonably warm (57 degrees in December?!) so it was kinda busy right at opening, waits varied from 25-40 minutes which was a bit of a drag but did serve to build suspense. The toboggan rides themselves are worth the wait, really exhilarating. The hill is no joke! Also, the snack bar was well-stocked, well-staffed and reasonably priced. We had a really fun experience. (You need reservations which are easy to make on their website and be sure to bring gloves. Dollar store gloves were just fine, it's just because you're holding ropes on the sleds) read more

It was the "Day at the Chalet" arts festival. Huge crowds & cars parked everywhere. Too bad cops didn't open the giant field next to Chalet for parking then we wouldn't have to park on the parkway burm. My daughter loved it couple yrs ago so we came back. There was lots of arts & crafts tents with free activities. Painting, sand crafts, coloring, sticky foam, box decorating, cupcake decorating, etc. They had live music and live performances. The food tent was good. We had 2 pieces of Jett's pizza w/ chips for $2. Also offered burgers & dogs and drinks. Gave away free popcorn & cotton candy. Also there was a bunch of vendors selling artsy stuff. They also had raffles for lots of prizes. It was a great event that was family friendly and free. read more

Talk about loads of fun and a rush! I took the 25 min drive down to the area so that I could check out the toboggans that were in the area. The drive wasn't that bad but once you get down towards the actual park (if it's at night), the lighting almost completely disappears and it is DARK! Once you get a little closer to the area, though, you start seeing signs of life again. Upon arrival, go straight to the ticket booth, as opposed to what I did which was wandering around on the inside where there's a community area and a little restaurant. Nobody helped or offered to, so I had to figure that out myself. A ticket for one ride was 6 bucks and you're given a wristband which is also your ticket. YOU MUST HAVE ON GLOVES! The steps to the top of the chute/toboggan run are tall and long. It took FOREVER for me to get up there. But being on a Thursday night, I didn't have to worry about those long lines that others have mentioned. After it's ensured that you have on gloves, you are seated on your sled thingy, the gates are opened, and you slide down. It's an awesome drop and super fast! Brakes stop you at the end and you hop off. My only issue was the help of the workers. As I said, first walking in, nobody was helpful at all. At the top of the run, the workers were debating over who was going to put the sleds on the track, or who was going to pick them up and load them. Then once I got back inside I was asking to see if the cameras were up and running and the workers behind the food counter were asking some of the other younger workers and everyone was acting all spaced out and finally said that no they weren't working. I don't think they really even checked. It looked like they were just in a rush to get packed up and go home, even though it was only 9:20 and they didn't close till 10. One of the great things about living in Strongsville is the Chalet. A must for anyone who doesn't mind bundling up to have fun. My family buys season passes usually. We used to come here when you had to carry the toboggan up the steps. Now that they have the automated toboggan lift there's no more carrying at all. So even if you're a little lazy you have no excuse. Inviting fireplaces both inside and out. As well as a snack bar inside with hot food. read more

Well folks, they finally embraced today's technology and got a conveyer belt to carry those massively heavy toboggans up the stairs for you. I thought they were just heavy because the last time I went, I was a tweenager. But, I went as an (out of shape) adult and they were just as heavy as I remembered. So, YOU my friend, will not have to deal with that and maybe get more than a couple of runs in. ENJOY! Also, they have a bomb snack bar. Fried pickles! Quesadilla Rolls! All the new trendy apps! This was a fun foray into my first Cleveland winter. Having never been sledding down ice chutes before (even though I've lived next to a Winter Olympic center with luge and bobsled tracks galore), I decided to talk a fellow yelper into braving the cold to hurdle ourselves down a hill at breakneck speed for an evening. We went later in the evening so there were some families there but it wasn't too crowded with little ones. Exactly the same as what Will described....carry toboggan up tons of stairs, you'll get your workout for the evening, wait in line (it was slower the night we went, so didn't have to wait that long) and zoom down the chutes (we preferred the one on the left because it didn't dump us into dirty snow at the bottom). Chalet was nice, indoor and outdoor wood-burning fireplaces with a lot of stuff to eat and drink at the concession stand, even crappy hot chocolate made with water tastes good at cold temps! They have a bunch of different events including some family fun nights with some cheaper pricing and student nights too, so check out their website for the upcoming announcements. Price is steep, which is why it's only getting 3 stars, I probably would rather just go and buy a sled at a store and head out to a good hill than return here multiple times during the season. There are no refunds, so if you're taking someone who is a little gun-shy about heights and speed, don't fork out for them! And yeah, don't forget your gloves/mitts, they won't let you on the toboggan if you don't have any.... read more

The chutes offer a nice group activity in the winter especially if you have kids. Ostensibly, the place was packed with families. A couple weeks ago, I went for the first for the first time since adolescence and was looking forward to going. Thanks to adulthood, the toboggan rides were not as exciting for me as they were as I remember them as a child. To the uninitiated, you carry an 8 foot wooden toboggan up large wooden stairs [it's not as laborious as it sounds] and wait in line [I waited about 20 minutes each time during my last visit]. There's a pair of identical tobaggan chutes. You [and up to 3 others] closely embrace each other and sit on the wooden tobaggan and ride down the straight icy chute around 30 mph for about 10 seconds. You don't get any snow or ice on you either, a plus. Repeat as many times as desired. There's an indoor chalet with typical concession snacks and a fireplace. Make sure to bring gloves: they're required. A nice outdoor winter activity [only $8 a person] although I prefer sledding or the slopes. read more

So much fun! I went with my family (4 people total) and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thing to note... The line was pretty long when we went (~ 2 weeks ago) and it was freezing! Thankfully we didn't pay for unlimited. It would have been too cold and taken too long waiting to go again. Make sure to bundle up and wear good gloves. You MUST wear gloves in order to participate so if you don't come prepared you will have to buy a pair at the ticket office. I had on a thick pair of North Face gloves that were actually damaged due to the friction between my hand and the sled/rope. I ended up with two holes in my new gloves and a scrape on my hand. Other than that... It was a great experience! I had a great time and would definitely do it again! read more

As others have said, there isn't much to the toboggan chutes. Two big scary hills and more stairs than most people climb in a week. I was thankful to have my boyfriend with me, because my little guns wouldn't have been able to handle carrying the 35 pound toboggan up a seemingly endless staircase. I don't enjoy the feeling of falling or hurtling through the air, so toboggan rides really aren't designed for people like me. I was a good sport and went down the chutes a few times with my boyfriend, fearing for my life the entire time, so I can't say I'm in any hurry to go back. For some reason I feel safer going sledding in a big old inter-tube, so the next time a big storm hits, I might just do that. Next to Yelp, Groupon is my most favorite web site, and I was able to score a four pack of toboggan tickets for the low low price of $4 each. Since I'm a big 'fraidy cat and not all that fond of heights, I'm not sure that I would have hit up the the chutes otherwise. Be sure to check out the Chalet if you go tobogganing. There's a nice roaring fire and a snack bar with everything from hot cocoa to fried pickles. read more

We spent the day here with my in-laws and nephews when they were in town for Thanksgiving. The youngest was a bit scared and we were only able to talk him into going down twice. The rest of us loved it and only stopped because we were too tired to carry the toboggan up the stairs!!
