Potato avocado chicken salad. Unique and delicious!

Small cozy place. Felt like we were being served in someone's home. One of the owner's daughter to care of our four-person group. Peruvian chicken, the two steak dishes, cilantro sauce on the side, great tasting rice and beans. Authentic and deliciously prepared. Byob allowed. High quality ingredients. Excellent establishment.

This place is amazing, best Peruvian place in the area for sure. My usual favorites are tallarin verde, ceviche and empanadas. Love the tostones with guacamole, rice & beans, yuca, and salsas (love the purple olive salsa). The cheese empanada is salty and fresh, the chicken empanada is so delicious with fresh chunks of meat inside I died. Also just tried the mazamorra con arroz con leche and it blew my mind a bit. It came super hot and was extremely comforting for the cold weather. Forgot about picture for this though. Must try this place

Really enjoyed the food here. Flavors were food without being too overpowering. The chicken was moist and the steak tender. Authentic decor and decent service. Street parking only and must pay a meter. I would definitely come back for more.

This restaurant is such a cute addition to Lynbrook. It's a small space, maybe like 12-15 seats in the entire place but it was pretty empty when we went on a Sunday afternoon. They were easily able to seat 5 of us by adding an extra table to ours & service was friendly/fast. I'm not an expert on Peruvian food but everything here was fresh & delicious. From the chicken to the seafood, everyone enjoyed their meals. They have a delicious seafood platter that we shared and everyone loved it. Definitely recommend getting a side of yuca or fried plantains.

Small place with delicious Peruvian food options! The lomo entree was very savory and big, big enough for two to share! The rice, beans, plantains and lomo were all very good! I don't believe they have alcohol, only soft drinks (soda, water), but perfect for brunch/lunchtime! The employees were friendly and attentive & the cost was decent - definitely recommend

Updating my review because the last 2-3 times the guac has been brown and flavorless and my fries either old and soggy or very oily.

Is this a good place for a date?

Hi Dave if this is a first or second date then possibly as it's cozy & the service can feel individualized. They have music that supports a first or second date without being awkward. Hope that helps!

We are from Chile and my mother has always enjoyed having food from our beloved country, so it was natural that we would visit San Antonio and happy occasion. As we entered, the bakery looked fine, but the woman attending seemed to have an attitude when she motion for us to go on to get seated. The dining room that had always been decorated with murals and paintings was now all bare brick walls. We sat down and waited for the rest of our party to arrive while ordering a few empanadas.. The shot came when we were presented menus, which had shrunk down to 1/3 the size and gone up at least 35 to 40% in cost.. the empanadas we ate were mediocre at best. After the rest of the party arrived, no one came to the table for at least 10 minutes at which point we decided it was not a good place to have a celebration. It was a very disappointing experience for what had been a good restaurant.

I have ordered takeout before but today I just needed a moment to sit and enjoy something comforting . This place and the chowder did the trick. The place has been around since the 30's so that says a lot. They do have tables outdoor under a tent but I love the nostalgic vibe of the inside counter with the little stools. You can watch them fry up all the goodies. I was immediately greeted, sat and my beautiful bowl of chowder came. The service is endearing and though my first time dining in, they treated me like I was a regular and they do with everyone. Maybe that's why they have been around so long. Good food is great but service that makes you feel like you are a regular is top tier. As The clouds rolled in the thunder struck and as the rain poured down, I enjoyed my lovely bowl of New England clam chowder. They are heavy on the fresh clams and just right on the potatoes. They do have the red chowder and their Long Island version which is a mix of the 2. This just hit the spot all around and on a day like I was having today, filled my soul. I'll BE BAck for the good fried goodies next time. Thank you!

As someone who isn't the biggest fan of tomato based soups, but doesn't always want the heaviness of a cream based soup, this is the best of both worlds. Its flavor was rich yet balanced. The cream brought a smooth, velvety body and subtle sweetness, while the tomato added a bright acidity and savory depth. Potatoes provided gentle heft and earthy comfort, while onions, celery, and herbs built a layered, homey backbone. There was a good amount of tender clams, with natural sweetness that tied everything together. We also got an order or mini crab cakes. The exterior was golden fried, with a nice crunch. The interior was more crab than filler, with enough structure that it held together. It was simply seasoned, supporting the crab instead of overshadowing it. The horseradish Dijon sauce was more Dijon than horseradish. It brought a gentle tang and little bite to add a depth of flavor to the crab cake. Also of note, when you sit down they bring tartar sauce and cocktail sauce to your table. Both sauces were honestly the best of their kind that I can remember having in a very long time. I couldn't even tell you what made them so amazing, but I must have commented at least 7 times about how good they were. There's a reason Bigelow's has been around for almost 90 years. It's a simple spot, with old school charm, that knows a good thing when it's got it, and doesn't mess with perfection. It just continues to serve up consistently good fried seafood (with a few grilled options so you can drag your health conscious friends and they'll find something too).
