Not much other taste, like tomato or cheese. Couldn't find much cheese. Ok crust, no flavor but not too cardboard-y. Overall the flavor was mainly salt. Not the worst I've had in Middletown but bad enough that I ate a slice and tossed the rest in the trash. The heavy salt flavor just ruined it. read more

Awful food, awful people, rude staff. Their pizza and wings are always poorly cooked. Their pasta was trash. Never eating here again.

Had Cuzinos today. Family ordered cheese steaks & an order of mozzarella sticks. Family said their cheese steaks were ok and just blah. I tossed mine. Ordered a cheese mushroom steak with mayo, ketchup, lettuce, pickles and sweet. It came with raw onions and green peppers mixed among the the other ingredients. So when you despise raw onions and bite into one... it ruins the sandwich. Even if you try to scrape off all the toppings. Blah food and food made incorrectly isn't worth the money we paid. Mozzarella sticks were good. Sauce that came with them was watery. read more

When we we're closing on our house in the area everybody seemed to rave about this place. So my wife and I went to eat here before driving back home. We had a cheese and mushroom pizza. It was absolutely delicious! We came back at some point later on and ordered a caruso special pizza. Again really delicious. So we came back again some time later and ordered the caruso special pizza again. They brought it out to us and told us it wasn't cooked right but instead of throwing it away we could have it and they would make us a new one. It was really wet and tasted odd specifically the green peppers. So we waited for our new pizza and it was pretty well exactly the same. The peppers had to have gone bad. We were both disgusted and both my wife and I got extremely sick. I actually contacted them on Facebook about it and got a nonsensical response. We won't be back... It was so disgusting and we were so sick the thought of pizza from carusos turns my stomach. Here's the entire Facebook conversation: Me:Hey my wife and I came in for lunch yesterday (March 4th) and ordered a Caruso special. our first pizza came out soggy so the waitress said another was being made.. We have been coming to Cuzino's for 15 years or more. While the renovations look great, and the staff is great, they totally took the "restaurant" aspect out of play. The food is the same and the ambiance has a feel of a take out pizza place. People walking by you as you eat to pick up their food for takeout isn't what we were expecting. Driving home from NY .. we found this .. My pizza loving husband was happy with the pizza and the spinach salad was delicious . They cut up the vegetables and added abundant walnuts and cranberries Cheese was throughout instead of globbed on top like many . They only need to make fresh dressing instead of commercial . And the rolls they serve as an appetizer were yum. Good taste and crunch . I don't know if they were fresh or homemade . And I always steal the pizza crust which my husband leaves . We stopped there for a slice of pizza in this mask wearing era we are now living in. I thought the people were very UN-friendly, which surprised me. The man behind the counter asked for the money beforehand and I guess that should have been my first clue, but I was hungry and hadn't eaten before leaving home to shop. I asked for something to wipe my hands with and he handed me a couple napkins- no liquid cleaner. To top things off the pizza was not worth $2.29/slice. The sauce to me was bitter and that's a thumbs down for me. The unfriendly man was 5 thumbs down (and I only have 2 thumbs). I will never return. I'll just say it: Nino's in Middletown is about as good as it gets when it comes to Italian (in Middletown). The first time I ate there I did not have very high expectations, but they certainly corrected that quickly! I have since been back multiple times and won't hesitate to have pizza delivered. They even have two separate sides: one for sit-down dining and one for take out. I love this place! Service: Good, friendly service. Food: Very good food. Portion sizes were a little small in my opinion, but my wife will argue otherwise, so no complaints there, I suppose. The last time I was there had a Hawaiian Personal Pan Pizza which was very good. My only real complaint is that they tend to keep the dining room very cold. I've been there about three times each time it has been very cold. Highly recommend if you're going out in Middletown for lunch or dinner. Currently my favorite restaurant in Middletown. Edit: I've since had the pizza delivered several times and each time I find myself more disappointed. I'm not sure if they changed their pizza recipes or if my house is just too far out in the delivery zone. But the pizza is just not good anymore. read more

We hit up Nino's on a rest stop while road tripping up north for the holidays. Two slices of pizza and a bottle of water came in at $5 - pretty sweet deal. The pizza slices were huge and piping hot - we got them straight out of the oven, definitely the way to go. No skimping on the cheese at this place! Nino's pizza tasted so good going down (despite the grease dripping everywhere down our fingers and hands), but we definitely felt a bit unhealthy once our slices were polished off. I ordered "large"margarita pizza for pickup. Whoever took my order said it would be $13.99 and it would be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived to pick it up I was told it was $16.99. When I called and asked how long it was going to be for delivery, I was told 30-45 minutes. I said that was great because I was waiting for my parents to get back. I even mentioned to have it delivered st 6:15. However, the food was delivered at 5:43. To make things worse, I only had a Chicken Caesar Salad. When I was just about finished, I found what turned out to be a bone or fingernail in my food. I called back to let them know and basically was blown off. Let me start by saying that I'm a pretty easy customer. I like my food to be hot and to not be grossed out by it. I can deal with places getting my order wrong. I can deal with rude servers. Heck, I can even deal with slow service. Like I said, what I can't deal with is being grossed out by my food. Went to Nino's this weekend and ordered what I thought was pretty standard fare - a pizza and a salad. The salad was on the small side and pretty awful looking for what should have been a decent Cobb Salad. About six bites in, I bit into something hard. After crunching down on it once more, I literally had to spit out the salad. Upon further examination which one shouldn't have to do when at a restaurant, I found that it was a finger nail. Yeah, you read that right - a finger nail. I'm not sure if it was from the kitchen or the server but it was a painted nail clipping. I nearly vomited. Gross doesn't even come close to describe biting into food and finding that you're eating a fingernail. I immediately brought it to the attention of the server and she acted like this was a normal occurrence. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was having a smoke break. After waiting another ten minutes to talk to a manager, we got up and left. Suppose I shouldn't be surprised as the restaurant is fairly grungy and I can only imagine how dirty the kitchen is if they are serving finger nails in your food. I'm at a loss to think of anything good about this place. It's rare that I leave a bad review about anything but had to pass on this experience. As for the pizza, can't comment on it. Lost my appetite and nearly threw up so I didn't even get to eat a piece. Probably a good thing. read more

Bring Good Friday we knew we wanted a pizza place and happened to be right next to Cuzino's and were very, very pleasantly surprised. Good quality food, tasty sauce & complimentary garlic knots were very enjoyable but the best part was the service. Our food came out in an extremely expeditious manner, our drinks were never empty and our server was very much on the ball. While staying at the Hampton, I ordered the Veal Parmesan dinner. It cost 14.99 and came with a side salad and garlic knots. The veal parm was cook perfectly and the sauce was plentiful and sweet. Good balance. The pasta was a thin spaghetti, not over cooked, but not aldente. I would recommend going here if you are in the mood for Italian food that isn't pretentious. read more

I purchased food from this location and found it to be fairly decent. I had Veal Parmigiana, Loaded Fries and salad. Everything was prepared well and filled the need. It was not exceptional, but it was edible and I would visit again. They did however provide excellent customer service, so that alone demands giving it another try with possibly ordering something different. read more

I went on a Monday night to celebrate the reveal of my baby's gender; Party of 8. I've eaten here before and absolutely love the gnocchis with meat sauce and he garlic knots. The service was very limited for a Monday night and I guess our server was very overwhelmed with the amount of tables she had.
