Got delivery from door dash which was fine but the food was a total rip off! Paid $8 for extra ham and barely any ham was in the calzone and paid $5 for mushrooms and there were literally zero mushrooms inside. Called the restaurant and they said we need to call door dash! First of all, their "customer service" is straight TRASH. There's an older lady who works in there that is straight up RUDE. Our order was messed up, no big deal it happens. But a REPUTABLE business would rectify the mistake and NOT argue with their customer. I ordered 2 burger platters, they placed the wrong type of cheese and toppings on BOTH burgers. The order was so inaccurate that we assumed we may have gotten someone else's order, again not a big deal. But the lady behind the counter just wanted to argue and debate. My wife and I have been dinning in and using takeout since they opened and never had any problems. Yesterday we ordered the seared tuna/avocado and when I returned home, they forgot to put the poke sauce on the tuna and did not include the citrus olive oil. What they included was olive oil. I had a very hard time placing my order because Luis did not understand English. I also ordered a Chicken wrap and asked for no bacon or dressing but I wanted avocado which they forgot. Who ever made the wrap must be new because the wrap fell apart. They did not know how to stuff and fold the wrap properly I had to eat it with a knife & fork. read more

The service fee of 3% for credit card orders makes me a former customer for sure especially when there was no option for cash (I think this selection now appears at checkout - but not certain). When I inquired about this new policy, the manager du jour informed me it was an industry standard. Last time I checked, merchant agreements specify it is not allowed. I understand food supplier prices are rising faster than Sloppy Joe's memory loss, but there must be a better way to preserve margins. read more

First, I need to do my research...ummm is this a chain as near me there is a Pats Pizzeria but their menu is no where near as extensive and culinary mystified as this one. While in Delaware is appeared that they may have originated in DE as when searching for a spot to eat with four children multiple ones came up within 30 minute driving distance from me. Based on yelp and the two stars I settled thinking "all we need is pizza so anything will do" but was I pleasantly surprised as upon entering you get the feel of an Italian bistro with plenty of dining in options and a calm ambiance. My one put off was our waiter who was an older woman and I understand that she may have been a mother and grand mother but she continued to overstep boundaries regarding our parenting from my friends way of holding her baby in a front facing carrier to trying to convince us to move to another table in the back near the kitchen "now I can only assume this was to minimize the distraction that 4 kids can cause but it was presented as if to provide more space" after declining the need to move for the 3rd time she moved on to her next issue which was concerning herself with putting our drinks in to go cups because we had kids at the table. This may not seem like a big deal and I typically appreciate a waiter understanding the woes of dining with children but even once we would decline or express our needs it was obvious that if the waiter didn't agree she would do what she wanted and present it with "I figured this was best". I may look young but I am 33 and think I do pretty damn good at this thing called parenting. Onto the menu which was extremely extensive from wings, to subs to healthy options such as the salmon bowl that I ordered which was served with a wonderful horseradish aioli sauce, cilantro rice, edamame, and black beans. I enjoyed the dinner entrees which were well prepared. This is far from JUST a pizzeria. I would however recommend they have a personal pizza option on the childrens menu as I only have one child and ordering a medium cheese for one didn't make sense. Also the soup variety was outstanding, my friend ordered the lentil soup, I the shrimp bisque which was served with fresh basil and crab meat on top. It was creamy, seasoned well and plentiful. I am now eager to find out if my own Pats is a part of this chain and has similar offerings. read more

Do you love Greek food? Wait...isn't this a restaurant that serves Italian? Well that's a lot of cognitive dissonance! Look...Middletown has a problem. Sub-par food at above par prices. Additionally, Middletown has a problem with people who eat ONLY in Middletown. This creates an environment where sub-par food suddenly becomes par or even above par food. That's a lot to digest! Servers= C+ they're trying but they graduated 10 years ago and forgot about the world outside of the cornfield. Bless their hearts...tip them well and leave them a brochure about Wilmington or Newark. The management: they claim to care. They turn out 1/2 cooked pizza with oddly inspired toppings. Despite the bemoaning of the customer they will argue with you that they are the best. Look...I could write a novel about the horrible food, the horrible customer service, or the horrible cleaning practices of any Middletown restaurant, but honestly, you just need to fork over $100 for two pizzas and some wings and fries to fully comprehend the audaciousness of the people turning out this horse fodder that claim it is created by some world renowned chef trained in Tuscany, Italy. Lmao. The bottom line is this will suffice if there is a zombie apocalypse and you are not running short on cash. But...if you're looking for actual Italian food that is delicious and made with the attention to detail that any restaurant would give any average customer then you should avoid spending any money here at all. Got delivery from here. Ordered a sausage and onion pizza, chicken cheesesteak, and chicken tenders. Although the pizza was slightly more expensive than other chain restaurants, it was delicious. The ingredients tasted fresher. The sausage was tasty, and the onions were caramelized making the pizza taste delicious. I was surprised that the chicken cheesesteak was pretty good as well. This is not your typical cheesesteak, the chicken pieces are cubed not shredded, so it is more like a sandwich. But this sandwich is pretty tasty. The chicken tenders were also very good. They were crispy on the outside yet juicy on the inside. Even though we got our food delivered, everything was warm. And the chicken tenders were still crispy. The amount of changes they've made to their menu is terrible! The new cheese and tomato sauce is nasty!!!! I used to get slices from them everyday in high school! Now they taste so different! I occasionally order strombolis but they always put huge chunks of peppers and onions in it and they never cut them down properly.... I always ask for carey she is literally the only one who cooks the food the way you ask.... I will call trying to order and if she is not there I won't order.... I'm not sure what's happening to them but they need to do better... I have never in all my life spoke to a manager that rude in all my life !!! I love Pats pizza however I will not patronize at the Middletown Delaware location ever again ! The blonde woman with the accent is Incredibly Rude!!! I called to place an order for pickup at 10:20pm on a Friday. Both the website and Google says they close at 12. I was quoted 25-30 minutes for pick up. Got a call asking if I was coming to get my food because they are closing.... It was 10:40. I said I was on my way and I'd be there in 5 minutes. When I arrived the blonde woman was waiting at the door and when I walked in she said "it was longer then 5 minutes" I said excuse me? She repeats "you took longer then 5 minutes to get here"... really? My phone says 10:46. She rolled her eyes. Either take my money and give me my food or don't. It's not my fault that you decided to close an hour early but a word of advice being a total bitch to customers especially when they did nothing wrong is a great way to lose business. read more

I have been eating Pat's Pizza for 30 years! I have eaten it in Hockessin, New Castle and Newark(Marrows Rd) I can say that the Middletown location is by far the worst. I am not sure what it is but it taste like it is of lower quality. I can always taste the non stick spray on the pizza and it is usually shitty. It is a shame because I know Pats Pizza and someone from New Castle needs to teach these guys about quality. read more

I cannot tell you how many times I used to go to this restaurant! Years ago, when it was mostly a takeout pizza place with some tables, I thought it was terrible. Didn't like the pizza and never had very good service either. And then maybe 2-3 years ago, the owner must have put a ton of money in the place and it really looks brand new. The dining room is super spacious with lots of comfy booths, and I know it sounds weird to talk about this before talking about the food, but I actually really like the decor and color scheme going on. Okay, so food. Still haven't had their pizza since I tried it originally and didn't like it, so who knows. Every time I've been in the past .. five years, I've gotten sandwiches or pasta dishes and really liked everything. Their wraps are my favorite, built to order huge sandwiches with a side of always crispy french fries. I've also had several pasta dishes and entrees, but the penne vodka is the one I remember most as being really delicious. The sauces all taste homemade, and the kitchen has always been really accommodating as to switching up some ingredients. Service is also very friendly and satisfactory. Pat's is also part of a chain, with several other locations in New Castle County, and a few in Southeastern PA. Just a little factoid. read more

The food is absolutely wonderful. Our server Maria was excellent and very friendly. We saw the ad for this restaurant while we were at Westown Theater and couldn't wait to try it. We will definitely be back and next time we're bringing our friends. So glad we stopped in here. We had the Tuscan roasted veggie sesame baguette and the flavors are fantastic! They screwed up our order, delivering only one of the two cheese steaks that we ordered. The driver tried to make it right by calling the manager and telling him to send the other ASAP. It took 55 minutes for the second one to get here. When I spoke with the manager after waiting 40minutes for what should have been a 15 minute delivery, he said they were very busy, apparently correcting their mistake was not a priority. New Orleans shrimp and sausage. Shrimp, Sausage, Onions and Sweet Peppers sautéed in a spicy red sauce served over penne pasta was excellent last night. I will put that dish against any other similar Italian dish from anywhere in the entire state of Delaware Maryland and Pennsylvania and Pat Pizza select's New Orleans shrimp and sausage will win. I know there's places in the city that would charge $45 for this and guess what Pat Pizza select will still win. And guess what I get 2 1/2 meals out of this and I'm a big boy. read more

Not Recommended: Too much disrespect We tried, many times, we really did. To be fair, we complemented them and let them know when their food as particularly good, as it generally is. Unquestionably and enthusiastically, we enjoy their food. But the service . . . the service, makes up for it. Since June, I have had more than five incorrect take-out orders, including one particularly memorable instance of two hoagies to go, and one had the lunch meat and cheese for both sandwiches. How does an employee manage that? Even this we could deal with. But to speak to management about these issues, and receive hostility and disrespect back -- I draw the line. Tonight (26 DEC) I ordered forty dollars worth of takeout. After paying, I noticed that the pizza they gave me was not the one I ordered. When I pointed it out, and told the manager (owner? Russian man about 60 or so) that this happens entirely too often, he got upset and told me ". . . Not gonna argue with you" as he threw up his hands and walked away back into the kitchen. This is not the first time I have had such a run-in with management of this restaurant. This last summer, speaking with a Russian lady (presumably the above-named man's wife) about the mixed-up order I drove away with, I was laughed at. Good restaurants accomplish routine tasks routinely. Bad restaurants constantly screw things up. Really bad restaurants (or, should I say, the REALLY BAD MANAGEMENT of a swiftly-going-bad restaurant, aka Pat's Middletown) redirect the problem to you when you point out their errors. Usually the food is great always delivered quickly and warm by time it's delivered but tonight was disappointing 40 minutes for the food to be delivered AFTER is was marked as in the car for delivery. I only live 2 miles away. Food was cold when I got it, no apology for the slow service. Called and the credited $20 back but still wasn't worth the $20 I did pay. Tried Pat's Pizza for the first time this week in Middletown and was very underwhelmed. The crust tasted straight outta a big box warehouse (think Cosco or Sam's Club) and the sauce is extremely sweet and canned. Probably comfort food for some but for me definitely disappointing. To both of the two Managers on duty last night - you have no business managing a restaurant. When the very nice server came to the table and told us that the 1st manager blew him off when he was trying to confirm that the pizza was free of nut ingredients due to a life threatening allergy and he asked the second manager since the first 'didn't seem to care' and they ALSO weren't willing to check....you are in the wrong business and have forever lost our business. We had to leave because the MANAGERS of the restaurant wouldn't help the server confirm it was safe for my child. It would take 30 seconds to check the ingredients list to avoid a life threatening reaction - we were forced to leave and will not be back. read more

Nice young lady for server (Pat's food is usually good)...I was taken back by the portion vs cost...however my food was room temperature at best. Dependable pizza/sub option in Middletown. Square pizza is our favorite. The only thing that isn't passable here is the pasta. Sauce is terrible. Recently remodeled so now it features a very nice but usually empty dining room. Be sure to lock your car! Less than great neighborhood. read more
