As a novice coin collector, I have gone in here three times and have been quite impressed. The owner didn't mind that I was a beginner and seemed enthusiastic in giving me some advice. There is quite a bit of sports memorabilia as well... autographed baseballs and jerseys etc... Even if you don't collect coins or stamps or anything as a hobby it is a fascinating place to browse. Kind of like a museum you enexpectedly run across. Got a bunch of old silver, gold or old silver dollars? He gave me 25 bucks for the 1940 something silver dollar I had (before I started collecting) At that time silver was a bit more per ounce but hey...even if you get 20 bucks for yours, it beats getting a buck worth of stuff by spending it! " Honest, Friendly, & Knowledgeable Owner " I made an appointment at the Chula Vista Coins & Stamps store for yesterday in Chula Vista, Ca. The Coin store has been open since 1970, and Robert Hart the owner was very nice on the phone as he asked me to make an appointment to come in and see him. I had 2 large and heavy bags full of years worth of many different coin collections, lose coin, Paper Money, and Foreign Coins & Currency. The store is small and I could not believe how many people came in and out of the store in the 1 1/2 hours I was there. Because I had an appointment however, Robert made all walkin customers wait until he was done with me, because I had made an appointment the day before. That was Awesome for him to keep all of his attention on me, until he was done calculating my coins and collections.You don't see owners do that very often. Robert was so Knowledgeable, as he kept Educating me through my 1 1/2 hour appointment about my different coin types I had. Robert was very organized as he looked at every coin in detail, then separated them in many different piles do to the coins condition. Robert then bagged up all of my collection and marked the prices he would give me for them, on the outside of the bags. Robert then wrote down all the information on a receipt sheet, and came up with a final $$$ total, after he checked a professional coin book to verify some of my coin prices. I was very impressed the Roberts, Professional, Friendly, and Educational, personality. And after checking with other vendors, I was impressed and pleased to find out how fair Robert was with paying me in cash a very good price for my collections. Brought in a 1911 20 gold kroner from Denmark that had been in a plastic case for at least the past 75 years. Only 183,000 minted and the guy from the shop told me it was a common coin, accused me of cleaning it which I know is the number one thing not to do, and tried to convince me that the melt value wasn't what NGC had it listed at for that day. Watch out for this guy. He's a snake. Not to mention rude. read more

The folks here are really nice to deal with, and silver and gold (when buying bullion) is very close to spot. I picked up a nice Large Cent for 1849 modified in to a brothel token from here too. I love the odd stuff, and I've been collecting coins since I was a kid. Great prices when selling silver as well. If you need numismatic supplies, this place has it too.
