Once upon a time, not so long ago I had a bad kitchen, a very bad kitchen... It was my dirty, ugly secret. I take that back, it really was not a secret because anyone who entered my home you would've been a witness to the horror. I tried not to invite people over because one time a friend came over, opened a cabinet and a shelf collapsed. I was so shame. Well, I am shame no longer. Everyone is invited to my condo!! Why you ask? CV Construction just completed my kitchen and its amazeballs. The professional(s) that worked on my kitchen made sure I was satisfied. They were were professional, hard working, on time, and task oriented. I had a few requests and small changes and the CV crew were very accommodating. For example, on the last day of construction I decided I wanted a cabinet moved over about 2 inches. I felt really bad asking but the response was, "Sure! No problem!" and that's pretty much how the whole 6 days of construction panned out when I offered my feedback or opinion on the progress. Victor kept in contact with me via text and telephone. At first I was worried about the calls thinking it would be bad news like I see on home renovations shows. You know the call were the contractor asks you for a few more thousand dollars for something that came up that they needed to fix etc.... Well, I received no calls like that what's so ever. In other words the project stayed ON BUDGET!! This was very important for my family because we are on a tight budget as it is. CV, went above and beyond in ways such as surprising me with extra shelves in a space that would have been considered "dead space". Now fellow condo dwellers, you know it's like striking gold when you get two extra shelves that you didn't even expect. Also, I had extras (blinds and a door stop) that I had them put in for me and it was done with a smile! Even though my job was fairly small, Victor kept me in mind even though we finalized my choices in the kitchen. Initially I wanted quartz but after some consideration I changed it to granite because of the color choices. A few days before the construction, Victor called to let me know he got a shipment of a gray quartz that he thought I would like. Long story short I got quartz and I am a happy camper! I consulted with one other contractor and visited 2 cabinet shops but in the end I went with CV Construction because I felt most comfortable with Victor. I know I made the right choice! When I save up enough money I will be calling CV Construction to get my bathrooms done next! I can't wait!! read more

When I needed to get my 40 year old kitchen renovated, there were many of contractors to choose from. Several came to give quotes and ideas but none were as thorough and visionary as Victor. We started with an old design that boxed the whole kitchen in and wanted to have a more open feel to it. Victor came in and listened to what we wanted and worked with us to make it functional and family friendly. He drew out a design and explained it out to us and we loved it. The idea of an open kitchen with an island for our family is what was needed and in our budget. The crew he sent was also very impressive in their work and super considerate. They came on time and kept the rest of the house neat despite the huge project underway. The quality of their work was impeccable too. I was impressed. After seeing how well they did things, I decided to add to the job other things, which Victor and crew fit in and did. They were very flexible and did the work to the standards and details that I wanted from this renovation. Victor was always available via text to answer questions to get our kitchen perfect. He helped to guide me in getting the other things needed for the kitchen and gave great ideas and suggestions for the flooring and lighting. Victor and his crew were very detailed in doing a complete demolition and renovation of each apartment in our 5-plex. CV construction was selected because of the newer "eye" used in the selection of materials and how the overall project was to be completed. Pricing was reasonable, but the main feature is the willingness to do more for a minimal or no additional cost. Victor has a renovation formula that works and was giving us the benefit of his experience. He explained the need to take out the old and bring in the new. Obviously, why do a new renovation, but keep most of the old stuff? The old property needed little things here and there. We were not "nickeled and dimed" throughout the whole process, like most Contractors would do. Victor was able to transform the very old and outdated apartments to what new tenants want in today's rental market. CV Construction was very honest and the quality of work is impressive. We are no longer a resident of HI and had a long distant relationship with CV Construction (CA). Victor kept sending us pictures of his handy work at every step of the project. When my mom found water damage from a leaking sink in her Kapolei home, we decided to go with a complete kitchen renovation rather than replace the old pressboard cabinets under her sink. Just from seeing the work that Victor and his crew had done for some of my friends, I decided to go with CV Construction. Victor and his crew were patient and professional from beginning to end. He met my mom at Home Depot several times to help pick out items for the renovation and the crew complete the job within a couple of days (way ahead of schedule). I know there are some other bad reviews regarding CV Construction but none of them were related to quality of work or craftsmanship. Most were due to unanswered emails. Really?!! Considering the amount of work they go through and the number of customers they have to service, c'mon, cut them some slack. And who knows? It might have been the result of an absent-minded assistant who either forgot to check her email or neglected to pass the information to Victor. Anyway, they do quality work and I trust Victor. This review is long overdue, and I finally got some downtime so I wanted to write this up as CV Construction did such an awesome job for me! I recently bought a condo that was a complete gut job. I called CV Construction and Victor came over and gave me an estimate to gut the entire condo (3 bedroom 1.5 bath), redo the kitchen, all the flooring and the bathrooms, paint the entire place and replace the tub and both toilets. He also gave me a 30 day timeframe for completion. The estimate was so reasonable and 30 days! For real?? Victor and his partner Sam were so professional and accommodating. From the picking of the materials, to going shopping for everything else, victor was so patient and had some great suggestions as well. They also did some extra stuff for me, that went above and beyond my expectations. All in all, the reno turned out better than I dreamed it could, and I couldn't be happier. I have left numerous phone messages and emails with CV without reply. I am doing a multi-phase complete remodel of my two bedroom condo. I spoke with Victor Yeung once in July, and he promised to get back to me the week following to schedule a visit for a job consultation. No returned call as promised and I gave a $25K 2-bathroom remodel project to someone else. Coming so highly recommended, I reached out to CV again in Aug, and then left text, voice and email messages to Victor and Sam again in Nov 2014 as I approach my total kitchen remodel. Again, only a series disappointing unanswered opportunities. I am looking for a highly-recommended contractor to do a fair amount of remaining work, but I've pretty much given up on these guys if they don't even have the courtesy to call back in tell me they are too busy. I suppose it is possible CV isn't in business any longer as well? read more

I've never had the pleasure to work with them. After multiple calls and messages, no one call me back. I even stopped by the small office in Chinatown during business hour twice, and it was locked. So they might or might not do good work. Guess I will never find out for myself. The most important character of a contractor should be communication. This is a complete F on their part. read more

Our experience with CV construction was just awesome! Victor and his crew did an amazing job with our demo/rebuild project and basically our dream home. Victor lead us from planning, to execution, to turn key. Victor was always reachable when we had any questions, concerns, and/or suggestions etc... SO SO happy with CV Construction and my BEAUTIFUL kitchen!!!!! First thing that I think is important to note-- the only reason CV Construction doesn't have an overall 5 star rating is because of one review that did not receive any service from them. Now onto my review-- I wanted to get my kitchen redone as the cabinets, appliances, and countertops were getting very old and worn. Not knowing too much about home remodeling and renovations, I was a bit overwhelmed. I met with one other contractor before CV Construction and while he was nice, I didn't get that immediate good gut feeling about it. From the moment I contacted CV Construction, I was extremely pleased. Victor was incredibly friendly, helpful, and fast! I also got an amazing deal with CV (significantly less than the first contractor). He met with me and guided me on my appliance purchases, had various options with what I could do with my small kitchen (i.e. cutting a long pantry in half that I wasn't really using for more valuable counterspace), and was in constant communication with me. They also completed the project a lot sooner than I expected. The workers were always prompt and on time. If you are looking to do any remodeling, I would highly recommend CV Construction. We just purchased a condo in Waikiki, and needed some upgrades before we could move in. Based on researching YELP reviews, we decided to contact CV Construction for a quote to: 1- Purchase and Install hardwood maple cabinets and an island in the kitchen, with Quartz countertops. 2- Create and Install a walk-in closet in the bedroom - which meant building 3 new walls and 3 new pocket doors. We had other quotes from Home Depot and another company, but decided to go with CV Construction because we felt very comfortable with their knowledge and professionalism when we were discussing the projects. Plus, their price was more reasonable. Great choice! Both projects were completed in less than a month from contract signing (while Home Depot was projecting a 6-8 month wait just for the cabinets). More importantly - the quality of the work, the quality of the cabinets/countertops, the walls, and the craftsmanship is superb! Like other reviewers, we never got a reply to our email asking for an appointment to come in and get an estimate of a complete kitchen remodel. We called first, then were told to send an email, which apparently was ignored. We gave this business the benefit of the doubt, even after reading the negative reviews, but they didn't pull through. Needless to say, we'll be using another contractor with some actual customer service skills. read more

I hired Victor and his crew to do a complete renovation of my new Waikiki condo while I was living on the mainland, and I could not be happier with the entire process. I got several bids for the project and Victor's was the lowest by far (and I mean about $20-40,000 lower!). We made several trips to his showroom and also to Lowe's and Home Depot, and he held all of my purchases until it was time to install them. Communication was top-notch every step of the way- plenty of phone calls and lots of photos and videos that were emailed back and forth, I know he had multiple projects underway simultaneously, but whenever I called, I always felt like I was his most important client. The quality of work exceeded my expectations, and the entire project was completed exactly according to the timeline that he promised at the beginning.
