From the start these guys have been super helpful and friendly! Most recently, I stopped in to drop off a new paper prescription, expecting to wait or be told to come back. When the pharmacist heard me say I wanted to check to see if I needed a new discount card, he stopped what he was doing and came over to run the script through to check for me! It was indeed expired, so he looked up a new one for me on the spot! I then figured id need to come back to pick it up but he said he'd fill it now! Unfortunately he realized it was something they needed to order, but their orders always arrive next day! I continue to be impressed by their level of customer service! The place itself isnt super big, but there are several chairs if you need to wait, along with a small selection of items youd find at a pharmacy for purchase. There is even a greeting card section!

I drove up to the window, a red-haired girl took the bag but told me to wait. She came back, handed it back and said "You have to bring these in the store and dispose of them yourself." No apology or explanation. I figured it was due to the pandemic but who knows. I come inside and immediately a tall man with glasses and dark hair barked at me that the prescriptions have to be labeled and I have to put them in the disposal box myself. Again, no, "Good morning, can I help you?" or any kind of customer service. Then he kept ordering me to tell him whether they were liquid or pills and when I tried to answer he would talk over me telling me to put the containers in the bin myself, which I was trying to do amid all his other loud directions. He was a real class act, and I was obviously an interruption to their day. CVS might want to consider some better customer service training especially when people are trying to do the right thing (disposing of unused medications) during a very difficult period. If someone is disposing of medication, it may mean the person/pet it was for is no longer alive. Real caring staff at this place...go somewhere else if you want to be treated like a human being!

Took my camera card in to print a few enlargements. ......started ....download and their main printing machine did a fubar. I said I'd pick them up later. Got a call from cvs that they were ready. NO CHARGE. That's a sure way to get my repeat business. Take care of the customer asap.

They took six days to fill an antibiotic prescription allowing my infection to flare. Communication was almost non-existent. The scrip was sent Friday, no call to confirm. Monday I called, they couldn't find it. (They later did.) Tuesday I called and was told they didn't have the drug to fill it. I was also told to call the Doc because instructions were missing. I did. Wednesday I called, it was promised that evening or the next day by 3:00 PM, IF I confirmed in writing that I wanted it. I did. Thursday my husband called at 3, it wasn't ready. He drove there anyway and the Pharmacist claimed "computer problems." Too many days, too many excuses, compromising the health of customers.

I have also been in health situations that the ER That has given me a script for prescription I needed and couldn't get it. If there are on call doctors after hours and ER's giving scripts for people in pain etc then it would make sense then to offer a way for people to get those relief meds instead of having to wait the next day when opening.

The town was cute, and being from a small town myself, I really enjoyed the history I was able to take in... which brings me to Blake Pharmacy. This pharmacy has been in the Blake family for many, many years, and while it has many charms that you expect to see in a small town pharmacy such as a soda fountain. RadioShack, friendly people, and regular drug store items. I was told they have added some high-tech automation to serve the customers better. At this point, a few things probably caught your eye...soda fountain and RadioShack. I took a lot of photos. I thought RadioShack had closed but not in an aisle here. We even found a really cool speaker system that is from RadioShack, which is the perfect birthday present. The soda fountain even has some food, and I tried the pimento cheese that is made fresh each morning, and it was very good. They eat it with potato chips, which is strange to me because I would choose crackers, but hey, they also love Skyline Chili, so...um... I'm kidding!! Anyway, if you find yourself in West Union Oh-hi-a (as they say it there), stop in, grab a shake at the sofa fountain, and sit and people watch... then go to the Blake Hallmark Store next door.
