I turned away, took 3 steps toward the door but still is close eye sight of that clerk, then realized that the home test purchased was Covid only. I turned and approached that clerk, handed him that purchased test kit for exchange, and was directed to the rear of the store to the pharmacy where I found the 3 in 1 test kit. When I returned to pay the balance in that exchange ( about $2), the clerk discovered that the prior mistaken kit couldn't be returned or exchanged. He called the store manager. Both of us, the clerk and I, told her the mistake and that I had never left the store or the clerk's sight. I literally had the mistaken purchase for just 30 seconds in my hand. She adamantly refused to assist in correcting the mistake or refunding my money. She claimed "the CVS system will not allow it. There is nothing I can do." I purchased the second and correct test kit. My wife tested POSITIVE for influenza A. I won't be going back to any CVS if a soulless computer runs all customer service.

People can obtain a lot of information with access to cvs prescription information and I'm concerned about identity theft. Also I had two skinny pop popcorn bags which rang up $5 on sale from $7.99. I told her the tag below the product advertised as two for $7.00. Again I received a blank stare along with her explanation that I was saving $2.99 each from the $7.00 full price. My cvs savings card appeared to be entered with my RX access info so I didn't ask if she needed my keyring cvs tag, just gave up frustrated and will avoid shopping for anything besides prescriptions. Sadly my insurance is partnered with CVS or I would fill them elsewhere. I was disappointed she didn't check for the actual price and so had the items canceled. I did confirm the sale price before exiting the store and stuck the sale tag I removed from the product shelf next to the pharmacy register hoping CSHR#2902172 will see it at some point. I would have asked to see a manager but the one cashier at the front register was waiting on someone, no one at the pharmacy even looked up and I'm tired of having to make a federal case for good sense and good service.

The few seasoned employees who work that area really do try, but most of the self-checkout staff have perfected the art of standing nearby while being remarkably unhelpful. Prices, of course, are sky high--which might be easier to swallow if the place didn't feel so out of control. Shoplifting is clearly a sport here; you can literally watch people grab cases of beer and stroll right out the door. Handheld baskets are scarce because those walk out too. Outside, the loading dock area frequently smells putrid, and the seating area that's supposed to be for paying customers is often taken over by loiterers and left dirty and uninviting. It's not exactly the relaxing neighborhood grocery vibe they're going for. And then there's the parking garage. The lighting is dim enough that you half expect a crime drama to be filming in the corner. It feels dingy, not safe or welcoming, and the escalators from the garage to the store are out of service so often they might as well be decorative art pieces. For a grocery store in the heart of Old Town, this place should feel clean, secure, and well-managed. Instead, it's giving "municipal chaos with luxury pricing."

I needed to purchase some Magnesium but I wasn't sure the actual type of Magnesium. I really didn't know that there were specific types. The employee behind the counter gave me a list of the various types of Magnesium so I took that list to figure out what I needed exactly. I was told that they have a whole range of Magnesium. So I did a little bit of research and came back about an hour later. The same friendly pharmacist was still there. She gave me advice about the Magnesium Citrate and how this can help my digestive tract. She also advised me about potential complications which was very helpful. I like the vibe here and it seems that they carry all of the medications as any other big box pharmacy chain.
