I thought I'd be eating 5 hour old hot dog and chips, turns out had delicious burger and chips! Fair pricing as well. Clean store, some covered picnic tables outside but too hot outside for me, a lot of variety of fountain drinks, and OH YEAH, they have a drive through! The station was clean inside and out including the restroom. The clerk was a friendly fellow and helpful. It almost reminds me of the store in Clerks, but way, way, way seedier. There's a huge jar of pickled eggs on the counter in the "impulse buy" area, and there are iron bars on all the windows. There's usually a cop car in the parking lot, and there's a little back shed where they sell liquor; that way the main store can stay open later and sell beer & smokes. This place probably has the biggest selection of smokes outside of a smoke shop, and many of the staff look like they might be too young to legally buy cigarettes. Some look so old that I don't know how emphysema or cirrhosis hasn't killed them yet. You can't get gas here, but you can get a dozen different kinds of beef jerky. And did I mention everything is UNBELIEVABLY CHEAP?? As long as you can handle the vagrants and panhandlers in the parking lot, things are good. Just don't ever apply for a job here... I have a friend who did that once, and ended up quitting because he almost got knifed by a drunk bum while stocking the beer cooler.

My band-mate and I stop here on our way to practice every week (we pay the rehearsal space in beer and cigarettes.) I put him on crackhead patrol to make sure no one grabs equipment from the back of the truck and I go inside to haggle with the clerks about the price of beer (make sure to take a good look at the prices on the cooler, cause the advertised prices never seem to match up with their pricing book.) It's dirt-cheap (cigarettes for around four bucks a pack and frequent buy-1-get-1 specials) and has a good selection of low- to mid-level beer. If you don't mind brushing off bums asking for a change to get a better price, there's no place better to find your vice.
