I've been given the wrong medication, the wrong dosage, not had refills filled that have been requested, asked to give my insurance card FOUR times this year despite having it on record since last NOVEMBER. IF I COULD RATE THEN ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! They have not filled, not refilled, not called or let me know that they do not have my meds OVER FIVE TIMES NOW--and these are meds I CANNOT MISS TAKING ONE DOSE OF!! I am disgusted. This CVS pharmacy is one of the worst ones. Very incompetent pharmacists and unpleasant manager. They don't care about patients. The line for picking up the meds are usually long. The main reason to me is that they are not organized and do not like their job. They can frustrate the costomers because, like in my case, could not find the medication that are ready for pick up. Terrible customer service. I'm guessing because they are understaffed. I called to have some prescriptions delivered and they had the wrong address on file. I gave them the new address and confirmed several times as to whether they'll send it there. I was told "yes sir." Well of course, they sent it to the wrong address (despite confirming the updated one twice and assuring me they sent it there). Now, I'm trying to call them about it - they keep putting me on hold for 20-30 minutes, picking up, and then immediately hanging up on me. Don't ever bother calling. They will never answer and will disconnect you after 20-30 minutes. If you have to pick up during your lunch don't bother. They will close despite being in the middle of a pickup because they close for lunch time too and don't care if customers are standing AT the counter. I usually patronize this CVS when we visit my mother. On two occasions the cashier had a major attitude problem and I complained to the manager, but admittedly that's an exception; the cashiers have otherwise been very friendly - and there's a really sweet-natured French-speaking cashier from Africa who always remembers me, even if I haven't been there for a few months. (Update on 7/1/12): One of the managers - Andre - is exceptionally friendly and kind-hearted. (Update on 6/30/13): All of the employees have been extremely friendly during our most recent visits, including yesterday (a cashier named Jazz, plus another young man elsewhere in the store who helped me find some items) - and the (female) manager working there yesterday was also quite friendly. read more

Final call waited 36 minutes before someone answered. As she could not hear me well I said " let me take you off speaker phone, please don't hang up on me " and in the 1/2 second it took to take the phone off speaker SHE HUNG UP ON ME. As a physician, I called and gave verbal prescription order to a pharmacist on duty this morning 8:04 am. He took my order without any problems; However, later of today, when my patient went to pick the prescript medicine, she was told that there was no such prescription for her. WORST PHARMACY CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER IN MY LIFE!!! I would never have thought to leave a review for a drug store, but people should be held accountable for the treatment of others. Unfortunately, I did not get the guy's name that I spoke with just now but just like another reviewer said, I was greeted with an attitude from the beginning. I don't get prescriptions filled often but I am in their system. I called to ask the price on a medication and gave all of my information, which he asked for! After he clearly had me pulled up in the system and verified my information, then he asked for the drug name. But, then he rudely interrupted me as I'm spelling the drug name and he said I need to see the prescription -- you'll need to come in. I said, then why did you ask me for all of my information!? I also explained that I didn't think it was covered by my insurance and that my insurance carrier suggested that I call around to do a price-comparison. Then I said, I know that people call to ask the price all the time, or are we expected to drive around between CVS, Walmart, etc. to get the different prices. He then said, you can speak with my pharmacist! (March 8, 2017; 11:30am) Guess what, I called Harris Teeter and not only did they give me the price, they also confirmed that it is indeed covered by my insurance AND that they also have it in stock!!! This entire location should be completely ashamed of themselves for how they conduct their business. The store itself is a typical cvs, fairly dingy, aloof staff, some shelves not well stocked. But the pharmacy is really what brings the ratings down. If you have a Rx called in you better be ready to wait at least a half hour past your predicted pick up time to get it. Not sure if it's just an issue of being short staffed but I have never had a good experience at this pharmacy. read more

Some of the rudest customers (yes customers) ever. Staff is friendly and competent despite being understaffed. Over entitled customers slow the lines up with their complaints and need for personal attention. And who the hell writes checks anymore? Prices? Meh it's a CVS, it's all overpriced stuff you can get cheaper at the Giant right across the street. The store is typically clean and well stocked. CVS brand items? Forget that stuff, I won't buy them anymore. I just buy brand names in here. The parking lot? Nothing like soccer moms rolling 20 deep in their oversized Escalades with blacked out rims. It's Bethesda people... Not a rap video from the early 2000's. Parking can be difficult and walking through the lot can be dangerous. 5 stars for the staff and the store itself. 2 stars for the corporation and you get a 3.5 overall. read more

Easily the worst pharmacy on earth. Waited 20 minutes in line to drop off prescription. They took all my insurance info and then told me they had to order the medication. It took two days to get it and then, after waiting 20 minutes again, they didn't have any of my insurance info on file. They took it all down again and now I'm sitting in a chair waiting for insurance approval. Every time is the same here. And, nobody working here cares a bit. read more

Terrible pharmacy. We had a confirmed appointment for a covid vaccine booster shot. Showed up only to be turned away for no reason. The technician clearly did not understand the eligibility requirements even though they are clear and obvious - and outlined on the CVS website. One of the two machines was broken, they had no picture frames, and the workers seemed overwhelmed and uninformed. I left without being able to accomplish my mission. When I asked how he knew which ones, he hung up. I called again. When I made the request again he hung up. The third time he did the same thing. This is completely unacceptable! Bottom line up front? I transferred my prescription to another CVS Pharmacy as a result of this location's ongoing, staggering incompetence. At least two times last year, my doctor's office had to contact them to correct inaccurate records this location had entered into the CVS systems after receiving an online prescription. They were providing me one third of the amount listed on the prescription, which I verified twice with my doctor, and had no problems filling at other CVS locations. Two days ago, while transferring my prescription to another location, a pharmacy tech made a mistake, reducing the count available for each refill. He admitted this when he was on the phone with my new pharmacy. I stood nearby with the new pharmacist, listening to the conversation. The pharmacist at the new location was so shocked by the tech's incompetence and inability to take basic direction, that his jaw dropped and he shook his head. According to my new pharmacy, the fat fingered tech apologized and said he would resolve the issue. When I followed up on the phone five minutes ago, the tech played dumb, and said that while he was working two days ago, he couldn't remember who was answering calls, but that he could send my prescription to my new, preferred location. Thanks Robert, but that didn't resolve the issue. I'll admit, I raised my voice to him. I was incredibly frustrated after some very pointless mistakes over the last 12 months. My advice to you is to please consider other pharmacies for your prescriptions, as I wasted a lot of time here before I transferred. You and I have better things to worry about than inept pharmacy techs. I experienced a series of surprising mistakes and rude behavior, but I shudder at the thought of other potential mistakes, with more serious implications which may occur as a result of this ongoing incompetence. I was trying to be a responsible adult and went here to buy condoms as to not overpopulate this world with smart Asian kids that contribute to society. Awful. The store itself looks like it's having a going out of business sale (see photo). Several of the items in the category I was shopping were gone. Prices on the shelves were misaligned or missing and CVS has gone to this mix it up shelving system which means more waking down isles trying to find your product. The self serve check out asks more questions then the IRS. (Why can't it tell I'm using a credit card?) It asked me to wait for help that never came. I was very impressed with my experience in the store from beginning to end. The store is located in Wildwood shopping center off of Old Georgetown Road. Parking is easy since it is an open lot, but it can get crowded depending on the time of day. Immediately upon entering the store, I was greeted by a store attendant and asked if I needed help with finding anything. I immediately noticed the holiday candy that was on clearance for 75% the original price. It was a great marketing tactic to clear the shelves of seasonal items and it made it convenient for me since I love shopping for a sale. Navigating through the store was painless since items were organized and shelves were stocked. During check out, I opted to wait for a cashier since I had coupons to redeem. There were several self-checkout registers available with an attendant nearby for assistance. Suzy was the cashier and she was very pleasant and friendly. Nothing but thank you's from her. She handled my transaction with ease and even asked if I had any coupons. I sometimes find that cashiers get either nervous or disgruntled when they see a stack of coupons, but this was not the case at all with Suzy! read more

Just had a shocking experience at this store. Waited over 30 minutes in 4 lines. Had trouble with getting prescription filled (it was called in by my doctor 4 days ago). Got one medicine, and no updates about the other. THEN took an item to the cashier. Found out that my email address is linked to another person's name, address and phone #. Got VERY concerned about identity theft and loss of HIPAA privacy. Asked to see the manager, who came and started helping others behind me without even looking at me at the front of the line. I waited some more, stepped forward after 5 minutes and asked if he had seen me (politely asked for his name, "I am here at the front of the line, sir. I asked to speak to you. Not sure you saw me. may I have your name, sir?"). his response was, "these are bad times. there is COVID out there. Did you know that? why you have to be like this?". I swallowed the insulting manner and his ignoring of me, told him my concern about privacy and identity theft/hacking. His response was, "i got no time for this. you ask my name. Why? i am short staffed. I got no time for this". and he turns away from me and begins helping others. I started leaving, nobody made any attempt to let me know I will be helped. I left after i and my concerns had been so summarily ignored. Don't know how to resolve my concerns, OR how to get my medications. Been about a year since last visit *Well-stocked La Roche-Posay - other locations low on my faves *Seems more of a neighborhood-y CVS - locals know staff by name Bad: -parking spaces....I was there when they opened and it wasn't easy...most likely due to the awesome Starbucks in this center -small shopping center that really needs renovation plus somehow more parking spaces -the doors aren't automated so wheelchair/walker folks look for the button -small entrance for disabled but I'm sure they'll fit or they would have community problems, right? This CVS store received my doctor's prescription. I called them to get it delivered to my home as CVS keeps advertising it. First, I had to wait more than 30 minutes over the phone before I could get a chance to talk to someone from the Pharmacy. Second, the person was quite rude and expeditious, saying that he did not know anything and I had to use the CVS app and create a profile there. Third, the man simply hanged up the phone while I was still in the middle of my sentence asking for advice. Next time I will definitely avoid this CVS store who is far away from minimum standards one can expect. read more

On any regular day this Rx already sucks. Rarely do they have medicines in stock or in the case of today when they said they did - it wasn't ready at 5pm after being promised for 11am. But what did me over was being told I couldn't bypass putting in my CVS number (they wanted me to manually enter on the public keypad) to make a purchase in the height of CDC warnings on Coronavirus. This review only gets 2 stars (2 more than I would have originally given) because Elba saved the day. My cat needs to have a regular prescription filled and every time I go there's always an issue. Either they didn't get the last name right, the script filled by the vet, or even any recollection that I called in my refill. For this specific instance I had called in the morning for the refill and I spoke to a man. I went there after work and shocker, nothing was done. Elba was kind enough to ensure everything was handled within 10 minutes and let me make the rest of my CVS purchases with her (I had a lot of things). I really appreciated her kindness and understanding, but I'm tired of having to wait around because these people are incompetent! read more

It's a CVS. I get that. No purveyor of prescriptions and "As Seen on TV" should ever rate more than three stars. That said, it's been my local chain drugstore for twenty-two years. The shelves are stocked with the stuff I'm looking for (and some of the people who do the stocking are the same ones from twenty-two years ago). There are plenty of long-timers at the pharmacy too - people who know me and know the Doctors in our neighborhood, so there is never any confusion or delay. They make the effort. read more
