This is hands down the worst CVS location. The employees working in the Pharmacy are some of the most disrespectful, most rude people I have ever encountered. Most friends I know have experienced the same issue. I understand they are busy but a little pleasant customer service would be appreciated. If it weren't for me having to pick up prescriptions for someone else I would not set foot in this store again. This location needs to do better! Rarely go here but I just picked up a few things, one of which being frozen mozzarella sticks from their freezer. It is the end of January 2026 and you can imagine my surprise when the package said best by October 2025. I'm sorry but how does one not notice the expiration date being three months prior when it is stocked in the front of the shelf? Makes me not trust the other items stocked. The pharmacy is so disorganized-We waited over a half hour in the drive thru. We got to the window, give the associate my name and DOB. She had a total blank stare. Asked for my name, gave it to her (again) still blank. Spelled it (very simple name.) Then gave her my DOB (again.) We can see another associate, just standing there staring off into space. Finally she moves and gets a RX and walks away. I've gone inside and waited longer in line to pick up my RX than it took me to get an oil change a car wash across the street! Another time while waiting in line, there were 3 associates, eating donuts and laughing, while one girl was running here tail off trying to keep up with the drive thru, as well as customers inside. There is no excuse for hiring and keeping personal like this. We used a CVS in FL several times this past winter. No one in line, quick friendly staff-in and out, as it should be. I can't understand why this pharmacy is so slow, the Rite Aid that just closed was very efficient, this place is a total train wreck. The service is appalling, attitude is disgraceful. Ability to get your prescription correct is not great. Check you received what your Doctor actually ordered. I've been using Cvs for years lately. They've been making a lot of mistakes filling prescriptions that are no longer needed even after removed from online and they are also changing pharmaceutical companies which causes the pill to be a different color shape or size in the bottle. I'm able to realize that that's not the correct medication and the medication is coming from a different pharmaceutical company what about an older person who is not made aware opens up the pills and they not the same as the prescription before?? The pharmacy will not change the pills back to original pharmaceutical company. With few pharmacy available these days or insurance company's changing medications people need to be made aware of changed!! read more

Excellent customer service and efficiency in Pharmacy and Upfront cashiers and associates.

The staff is wonderful at this CVS. David the pharmacist is so knowledgeable and very helpful with drug relation questions. Observing the pharmacist and staff and the phones constantly ringing it became evident that they are a great team that works together and works very hard (too hard). The main issue is that the pharmacy is understaffed, yet each person gives it their best to accommodate its customers that are insude the store, in the drive in line and calling on the phone. Shawn (sp?) who I talked with at the counter when I brought in my RX for the first time was able to save me $1,600.00 for my RX. He felt really bad that the RX was going to cost me $1,690.00 for 90 days so he took the time on the computer researching programs I might be eligible for, found one, and he saved me $1,600.00. The other pharmacy staff were able to efficiently handle the other customers while he went out of the way to help me.... because he cares for people. The phone was constantly ringing with customers needing to speak with the pharmacist. David. He patiently answered each call while at the same time filling / approving RX. I don't know how he does it.... non stop. I would have given a 5 star review but like others I spent a long time on hold when I called the pharmacy, which is not the fault of the staff but rather the fault of corporate CVS for understaffing the pharmacy. This is a high traffic CVS (drive in and walk in customers). I will take the time to let CVS corporate know of my great experience with th pharmacy staff and let them know this CVS location is definitely understaffed. read more

I have been to this location several times and all my encounters were pleasant. I think it's Samantha this your lady has cashed me out before but was very helpful when I was looking for some vitamins I couldn't find in the aisle around January 26, 2023 she also helped me with what was on sale. The young lady who cashed me out that day was Gia. She took was very nice and offered me a gift that they were giving out they day. 11:24 minutes & counting. Trying to find out why my prescription has not been refilled . I made the request on Monday AM. It is Wednesday. When I call to find the status of order the message says it is "In Process". I really need to know is this because I want to know if the drug is not in stock. Now, it has been 16 minutes. why provide a false sense of expectation that someone is going to Answer the phone if no one is available. This store is a prime example of a broken medical system. Still on hold... 30 minutes. I don't think anyone is working today! It has been 40 minutes. And, somebody answered! Apparently, the automated service doesn't work according to the person who answered my call. So take the advise of CVS and show up in person, place your order and wait. I am told my script will be filled in 15 minutes. How long will the wait in line be. And, then they close for lunch. So I wait In line and it turns to lunchtime...the staff closes the window and I get nothing! read more

This is the WORST CVS I have ever been to. The lines are always so long for a prescription. I am currently waiting in the drive thru line, I have been waiting for 20 minutes and they aren't taking anyone in the line. I will NEVER return here. CVS should be ashamed of this location. The Pharmacy never answers the phone! When I call the main line, they say the pharmacy is not answering calls because there are too many people in line at the pharmacy counter. Maybe if they answer the phone they could cut down on the people in line at the store! read more

I don't go to this CVS often so this might have been an isolated incident, however, I am not pleased at what I just witnessed. I was standing in line waiting to check out and an African American woman was using coupons at the register. There appeared to be some confusion on her end about how to use a particular coupon. At no point did the customer raise her voice or appear visibly mad. The cashier was visibly agitated, and called her fellow employee over the phone. Quite loudly she said, "can you come out here, this woman has an issue every time she comes in. I can't handle this, just come out here now." She proceeded to walk away from the woman and have someone else "handle the situation." She then mocked the woman's coupon usage to the next customer in line, with a smirk on her face. I decided then and there to leave. Now I've worked in a pharmacy before and have literally had someone scream in my face, and swear at me. I would NEVER react the way she did. I felt very uncomfortable, and sadly I think the customer's race might have played a part in this nasty exchange... The female cashier might have been having a bad day, and it was the end of the night, but I really don't care. When you work customer service you grin and bear it, even if when you're annoyed. This was my second visit to this store but the first visit to pharmacy. I moved to this neighborhood from NYC and one thing that made me almost cry, is how amazing these people are. They got my order and lady didn't stop till she found coupons for my medicine. She applied them and it saved me 40%. No one ever put so much effort ever. I have been going to CVS and Short Beach Road in Branford for years. I have been very satisfied with the store, customer service and pharmacy. Recently they got a new manager named Ben. He is the best manager they have ever had. He strives for customer satisfaction, It is just wonderful no matter what you need he will help you. Let's not forget Betty in the front. She is also outstanding and very customer accommodating. I went to write my yelp review because I was been so happy with them and discovered that the average rating is very poor I find those ratings to be completely the opposite of my experience there over the past and instead would highly recommend CVS in Branford to anyone for customer service for product availability anything you need they go out of their way to get it for you. I am appalled at the poor ratings and insignificant comments that were made . CVS on Short Beach Road is the best and I'm very happy and satisfied to go there. Most of the staff are polite, but there is an older bird-like woman named Ann behind the counter at the pharmacy, and she is always twisted up in a mood. Every time I have to deal with her I'm filled with dread. I am not there to complain about painkillers not getting refilled, I'm not there to tell her she sucks at her job, I'm not there to abuse any kind of customer rights. I go once a month for my stupid birth control and she's always there huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes as soon as she sees me! I'm nice to a fault, always asking people how they are, making conversation and complimenting them. So I don't get why she takes this tone with me. One time, the line was long and the boy ahead of me was on his phone. He looked upset, and he turned to me to complain the hospital wasn't treating his mother fast enough for her illness or something. Finally it was his turn to go up to the counter, but Ann never said "next!" She stood there making a mockery of "this inattentive millennial". Get a grip you crusty old curmudgeon or quit your job! I've never been so disrespected as I've been in this location. There's specifically a staff member, by Ann who's older with short hair. Every time I've dealt with her has been the most awful experience that I've ever encountered at a pharmacy. She questions every prescription like she's dealing with drug addicts. There's always a problem and she will say out loud "oh no no no this is not written right, we can't fill this"...goes on to shake her head and to me, it's incredibly embarrassing as a patient who knows nothing of what my doctor has written. I simply hand it over, and there's always an attitude involved. I have never been treated this way before. The staff is horrible, they have terrible attitudes and are not happy to help customers that choose to come here. Needless to say I would rather drive 20 minutes to another location even though this CVS is very close to me.....just to avoid the miserable people who work here. I'm already sick, the last thing I want to deal with is blatant disrespect and this lady judging me because I was prescribed a cough medicine with codeine while I'm sick with strep and a fever that's driving me crazy. I've been going to this pharmacy for a long time. Always dreaded going there. I knew I'd be there at least a half hour waiting. and the rude staff. They cater to the drive up customers first and ignore the line inside. Thank God I have mail order now. I was there a few weeks ago waiting at the consult window to ask a question. Waited about 5 minutes with them looking at me continuing to ignore me. The CVS at the new haven green is far more superior. The management in Branford needs to get a grip and train their employees to better serve their customers. read more

I'm still puzzled why Towne Pharmacy chose CVS over Walgreens. Well, I think I can figure it out. When I pick up prescriptions, I also purchase other care products while there and when needed, greeting cards. CVS has the worst selection of cards. Twice now I attempted to buy greeting cards while there but ended up having to go to another store because of the poor selection. Also, CVS does not carry many of the everyday products we use. This is by far thee WORST CVS Store I've been to. Their aisles are very opposite of other locations, which makes it extremely annoying to find things when you stop here to grab something quickly. I have not (nor will not) use the pharmacy here) since the store is troublesome enough. I've only come here a handful of times and there is always a line, with one cashier & slooooooowwwwww checkout. This is also a smaller store, with very limited varieties in many products which is not helpful at all. I highly recommend going to any other CVS location if at all possible. read more

I've never posted a review in my life, but this CVS pharmacy is the WORST. All the reviews about Ann, the mean pharmacist who has literally zero people skills, are all true. It's amazing that management or corporate hasn't stepped in at this point. She is a disaster. I've never been treated in a mean way by any of the staff other than Ann.... however the pharmacy itself is a mess. They take forever filling prescriptions.. They are easily confused about basic things like how and when to fill refills, and I am POSITIVE that they never call a doctor to follow-up about a prescription. They just fax, like it's 1989. CVS is usually pretty good at other locations, so I guess I consider this is an outlier. But what a terrible outlier. To anyone on the inside at CVS, please intervene and help this pharmacy get better. At the very least, don't let Ann interact with customers. CVS in Branford is a joke. My prescription was sent in at 6pm. Told at 7pm it would be another 45 minutes so I come at 7:45pm. Wait in line and at 7:49pm I get told it'll still be another 30-45 minutes wait. Plus if I leave it will not be filled and was told they're so swamped and the whole town has been here today. Given the town has over 5 pharmacies I doubt everyone came this this exact pharmacy. What kind of bull is this?! This is ridiculous! I have given these RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL pharmacists chance after chance to correct issues with my prescriptions, insurance, and or unprofessionalism. The staff consists of two or three full time women that are miserable cause they are stuck there and can't find a better jobs and the rest of these "special" employees just got into high school so you can imagine what kind rudeness you have to put up with. The CVS itself is fine, but the pharmacy workers are flat out incompetent. Time and time again I am told my medicine is ready- when it is actually not. One of their pharmacists, Tainesha, has been unbelievably rude every time I've picked up my scripts- telling me that I should have "double checked" about my prescription being ready- despite getting notifications from CVS that it was, in fact, ready. By far the WORST pharmacy I have ever been too. The pharmacist and the technicians are all so stressed out and rude I don't understand why you would work with the public if your not a personable or if you're under staffed hire more people. They also send you text messages that your prescription is ready and when you get there they are actually out of it and you need to find it somewhere else or they only have a certain amount of your prescription and you have to make another trip back, also sometimes you'll receive a text your prescription is ready but most of the time you don't and you have to constantly call to see if it's ready. read more
