This place is a great hidden gem! The staff is friendly and helpful. We love that we can grab onigiri and musubi for a midday snack. Lots of fun snacks, drinks, and frozen goodies and ice cream to choose from. There's hot food being served in the back of the store so it always smells delightfully delicious. This is the best Asian market I have found since moving to Connecticut from California. They have what I need to make my Thai dishes from scratch. They are always polite and friendly. The market is clean and inviting. The selection of Gyoza is fantastic - so I am able to try new flavors. This small market in East Haven exceeded my expectations. It had such a cute interior and an entire plushy section! There was also a variety of products I can't find at other Asian stores in CT like Vietnamese Chocopies. Their selection of produce is small, but I appreciate the range of dry and frozen goods. There is also a ramen station ($2) like the ones in convenience stores in Korea! I came specifically to try the egg waffle ice cream from Whale Tea and it was well worth the $7.50. While the egg waffle wasn't hot, it still had a good texture and I actually liked that it wasn't warm enough to melt the ice cream and become soggy. Had to review their ice bubble teas! My favorite ice bubble tea is passion fruit with tapioca. I typically get the regular ice bubble tea but I do love the slushy version too! Long story but this store has not been professional towards the customers. No apology, no refund or return accepted. Even the boss claimed his goods are fine and so when the food is bought, if it's rotten or broken it's the customer's fault. I just reported my rotten eggs bought from this store to the boss, he said we will be ban from coming to the store if we continue to bother him. No apology from him. I was disappointed in the small amount of Japanese ingredients and choices. The bonito flakes necessary for Dashi were horrible, like a fine powder rather than flakes, Lots of junk food and convenience sauces rather than ingredients necessary to make the same. On the positive side, clean and offering gloves and sanitizer when you go in. Also very good selection of meats. This store is more geared for Chinese and somewhat for Korean. Spotless clean and great quality asian food. This is my weekly routine for Thai food as they have a la carte Thu-Sun and some ready-to-eat food thruout the week. The price is very reasonable. They have such variety selections too e.g. Filipino shrimp paste, chinese sausage, Thai durian, Japanese mochi, Vietnamese coffee, various origins instant noodle etc. I have been to 4-5 Asian stores around New Haven and nowhere can beat this one in all aspect. read more

Located next door to Family Dollar! Watch out if you use iPhone's maps app; I wasn't paying attention and accidentally ended up at their old location ("T-Asian Store LLC") down the road. This store is clean and compact; they fit a lot of items here, from fresh produce (decent variety of vegetables), frozen foods, meats, seafood, to the usual dry goods, sauces, spices, noodles, etc. Aisles were well labeled. I was sad to only see two different old lady sauces. Still, I got the essentials here. There are some prepared foods by the checkout; I'd like to try them next time. Major credit cards are accepted, but I'm not sure if there's a minimum. read more
