The store was very crowded but the customers were moving rapidly in and out the store. Literally never been to this location before. However, I came to pick up some photos that I printed. Although the line was long, and it was only 1 person working the front, she was handing it well! She was polite and multitasking. very impressive! The store looked cleaned and organized. I got my items and left. When im in the area and need more pictures I'll definitely visit this location. This CVS location is the primary place I go to for vaccinations & medications. Most everyone I've dealt with in the pharmacy department have been extremely helpful & kind. I especially admire how they handle all of us b/c it is a very busy location & they often have many people waiting to ask questions &/or pick up their medications. There is a young man there that typically checks me out when I am picking up my meds & he is extremely patient & helpful. Today, a different young man helped check me out. He too was most kind & made me aware that the medication cost was high prior to me having to pay for it. Also, today, the pharmacist came over to me & went over the new medication & made sure I understood everything. She was most thorough & kind. I greatly appreciate this team at my local CVS. This CVS is on the corner of Ponce and Commerce. It is typically very busy. At high traffic times the drive thru for pharmacy can be insane. I can usually drop off and pickup the same day (hours apart). This CVS is way too busy for a sit and fill. I always find it easier to go inside for pharmacy needs! Lines can be long too, but can move faster with multiple cashiers. The photo area is typical, nice prints, and patient with passport photos. Usually everything is in stock at the infamously high drugstore prices. They have multiple self check lanes and accept Apple Pay. read more

This is the downtown Decatur CVS Pharmacy, located at the corner of W Ponce De Leon Ave and Commerce Dr in the Commerce Square shopping center. This location is open 24/7. Parking is free in the shopping center though it's shared with many businesses including restaurants Green Ginger and Wild Crab. There's also metered street parking which is free 6pm-8am, Monday-Saturday and all day on Sunday. I happened to need some AAA batteries and this CVS was on the walk back to my car so we stopped in to see what they had to offer. In general, I don't think most products are the best buy at CVS unless they're on sale or if there's a special going on. Stores like Kroger and Walmart will often sell the same items (e.g. personal care products) at a cheaper price. Luckily for me, they had a BOGO (buy one, get one free) deal on six-packs of CVS-brand AAA batteries. A free CVS ExtraCare card was required and is required to take advantage of deals. I had no idea CVS-brand batteries even existed and I can't comment yet on how they compare to name brands. I picked up two six-packs for $10.79 total ($9.99 plus 8% tax). I used one of the three self-checkout kiosks and received one of CVS' notoriously long receipts. The reason why CVS receipts are so long is because they contain coupons you can clip off at the bottom. The store was well-stocked and clean. The lady in the checkout area was friendly and helpful. It was busy during our Sunday afternoon visit. Seems like an OK and reliable store. read more

Maybe they are over worked or maybe they just don't care. I walked with 3 hours still left before the pharmacy closed to get a very important refill - when I asked / begged to pick it up any time before they closed the pharmacist (not a tech - the pharmacist) huffed at me 'I'll try but have 13 prescriptions in front of you'. Needless to say I did not get it that day - NOR the next day - that's over 11 hours of work time and they can't get an in stock prescription of 30 pills filled?!?!? read more

No notice when there's an issue with the prescription. If you call and can make it past the automation you'll be put on hold until you are left to give up. I've had prescriptions disappear from the app without explanation. I'm signed up for notifications when there's a problem with the prescription and I don't get anything. I'm left fumbling try to figure out why my prescriptions aren't filled. Also - every time I have gotten a response I'm told they've reached out to the dr and there's been no response - but guess what? Some of us work with our doctors and know this CVS hasn't sent anything. You can't trust this pharmacy because you can't trust the people there. read more

There was an issue with one of them and the Pharmacist Candace handled it with professionalism, speed, and personalization even 10 minutes before close on a busy Saturday. Maybe this pharmacy is understaffed or something. But avoid this location at all costs. It's truly mind blowing that they're legally allowed to dispense medication. Because there's no way a pharmacy can run that poorly and not cost someone their life. read more

The pharmacy has a drive thru but I have only been able to use it maybe 5% of visits because there is always some issue (registers are down, not enough staff, etc) so you end up wasting your time in line in the drive thru only to be told to go inside. read more

The tech did not know the generic name of a prescription and told me they had ran out and suggested it call other pharmacies in town to see if its available. After ten min of me calling around it occurred to me that she might actually not know her job so i asked to speak to pharmacist and there it was left with my meds. This place is always super busy, long lines and long hold times, which is obviously a first world inconvenience. However, pharmacist Shubhra today was AMAZING; helping me with a very annoying situation of insurance, upcoming work trips and a recent change of doctor. She was extremely calm and patient, listening and assisting best she could, even though I knew she was extremely busy. I assume CVS understaffs their pharmacies in Georgia because they are all like that rear the Atlanta/Decatur area. Interesting observation though, the Chicago suburban CVS pharmacies are always much less chaotic. Anyways, thank you Shubhra for your kindness this morning. This is the worst CVS pharmacy on earth. They are notorious for long lines and poor service -- so much so that it's a running joke locally. During my last visit to the pharmacy, I was impolitely told that they were too backed up to fill my prescription. End of story. No solutions offered. They didn't even LOOK at my prescription. Do yourself a favor and go to the CVS Pharmacy at Emory Point instead. CVSes are a dime a dozen. This one in downtown Decatur is pretty standard. It offers free parking in its lot and also is open 24 hours, though the pharmacy has limited hours. The employees are all right, and you can usually find what you need. There's a more local-type pharmacy up the street, McKinney's Apothecary, but it's not open on the weekends which didn't help us. read more

This CVS is THE WORST. Every time I need to refill a prescription it's such a pain. The wait is absolutely ridiculous. They also made me wait in store to transfer a prescription for over an hour while they kept the other pharmacy on hold and then accidentally deleted my account. Another time they put me on hold on the phone for over an hour when I needed to update insurance information and then disconnected me. I called 3 more times that same day during business hours and they never even answered the phone. DO NOT USE THIS CVS. The one at North Decatur is much better. read more

It is obviously understaffed and as a result the overstressed pharmacy people are often a nightmare to deal with. I was a happy patron of a Publix pharmacy for ten years until CIGNA forced the move to CVS. Be sure to stay on top of your renewals because CVS doesn't. These people are morons, incompetant and liars, use anyone else if you can. Read below and think about this for a moment, do you want people this inept potentially holding your life in their hands? More than one person has been killed by a clerical error, and since they are clearly capable of making those, what's to say they won't accidentally switch your medication too? Here's my wonderful story with them: I dropped off a prescription, they told me it would be ready in half an hour. I came back and they said whoops, you have to come back tomorrow. So I came back next day and they said whoops, you have to wait two more days. At this point I spoke with the manager who swore to me that it'd be filled on Friday. (These meds are restricted, it's a child's ADHD medication and the date they are filled is extremely important.). When I called in on Sunday to make sure they were there (I just got back from a business trip, I couldn't actually be there on Friday), guess what, whoops, they hadn't filled it. And, of course, it's not within their power to back date it to when they said they'd fill it. A 7 year old boy now has to go without his meds, he's a wreck when he's off his meds. I was told mine would be right out and 45 minutes later I had to fight to get someone's attention to check the status. I was also refused to buy my son probiotic gummies bcs I didn't have a photo ID. I have never been in a business where everyone hates working there so much that they won't make eye contact. Even the woman constantly "thanking everyone for their patience" sounded snarky and rude. I have lived in Decatur for four years now and I am writing this review after literally countless bad experiences at this location. It is busy because the location is so convenient and because many insurance companies leave little choice but to use CVS. They are chronically understaffed and the people who work there have no customer service skills. They also do not seem to care or understand when someone needs a medication urgently. This has lead me to go to great lengths myself in order to source something and even paying full retail price at a pharmacy my insurance doesn't accept. I have transferred all of my monthly prescriptions to a home delivery and now I am going to have to find a better option for sick meds/call in medication because here I am at 5:00 on a Friday getting a robocall from CVS that my daughter's albuterol is actually out of stock - even though they have had the prescription all afternoon. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes to talk to someone about transferring it to another CVS, my husband drove down there to do it in person. We have collectively wasted about 2 hours trying to get this breathing medication and I'm over it. No amount of proximity can make up for the carelessness and abuse that they dish out here. read more

Located in the heart of Downtown Decatur, this is a quick and convenient pharmacy. I've never picked up prescription meds here, but it is great for over the counter drugs or to make a quick stop to grab chips/salsa to bring to a friend's house. You can also get some photos printed here. Staff is friendly...no complaints. Plenty of parking which is nice bonus in Decatur. You can get a CVS keychain tag and get discounts. read more

After 3.5 weeks waiting for a prescription and multiple calla to the pharmacy, I'm done. They didn't request a prior approval for 2 weeks bur kept telling me they were sending paperwork to my doctor to file. I finally had to do it. They they had to order the drug. And it was electronic so I couldn't take it to another place myself without going back to the doctor. I called yesterday, was told it was in and would be available by 3pm. I gave them an extra day and it still wasn't done! I have wait 20 minutes. The pharmacy it's self is a mess. The shelves aren't organized. Trash is on the floor. Clearly understaffed. There's an open sharps container out where anyone can get to it. The wait for a flu shot is an hour. It's gross. read more

I only go to this CVS because I have to, but the last time I was there I had to trip over the table and chairs they had set up to vaccinate people with bandaids still on it because it was literally right in front of what I was looking for. Is that even allowed? They have free parking, which is good, and they're in a good location. But, the inside of the store it so unorganized and cramped I can't even find what I'm looking for half the time. There's just stuff everywhere.
