Okay really?? How do they NEVER have what I need in stock?? Went one time because I needed kitty litter, out. How can you be out of kitty litter at CVS? Is it really that hot of an item? Went again, needed Almay makeup remover. OUT. How is this possible? Of all the makeup remover brands. What are the odds? Passed by the kitty litter on my way out just for kicks... Still out of stock. This is an amazing location that is minutes from my house but if I need to grab something, definitely not the place to go. Note to Jane B: Are you calling in your prescriptions ahead of time? We always call in our prescriptions and they have them waiting. It does get pretty busy in the pharmacy sometimes. Even better, order them online! I love this CVS. I only wish it were open 24 hours. I also sometimes wish they had more cashiers. It can get really busy up front and it aggravates me no end when there are ten people standing in line with one cashier working the register and the other cashier is restocking the shelves or talking to another co-worker, oblivious to everything else. This CVS is quite large and the staff is very nice - however, I mainly frequent this store for its pharmacy...which is unfortunately lacking. When picking up prescriptions, the wait is on average 15 to 30 minutes (even if there are only 1 to 2 people in line). Luckily there are great stores nearby (Heliotrope, Pastries A Go Go, Jazmin Spa) - so you have alternatives to waiting in line. read more

I am a new resident in the area and I parked in the lot and went into the store. I waited a while and and the environment wasn't that great I guess and I learned they didn't have the drugs I needed in stock. Anyways, I bought a drink and a candy bar and went for a short walk around the road to check in a lobby at an Apartment complex about their availability. I came back and their was a boot on my car. A heavily tattooed guy in a white t shirt I may as well expect to buy drugs from came up and said I had to pay $95 because I violated the off the property policy. I tried to explain Id bought something at the Pharmacy but didn't have my receipt with me and the guy wasn't having any dice. I felt very uncomfortable and so just paid up and left. I had to switch from Wal Greens to CVS for insurance purposes. This location is chronically understaffed, takes way more time to fill prescriptions than they say when you drop it off, and the wait time in line for pick up is extraordinary. It's impressive really that they can be so incredibly slow in this process. I requested a transfer on medications, did the paperwork and everything and -- they just didn't. 2 weeks later they said they were 'calling the pharmacies today.' I've tried to visit at various times to avoid crowds. There are always crowds. They wouldn't even let me sign up for a CVS card at the check out because they were so slammed. I would rather go through the headache of appealing to my insurance company to let me go back to Wal Greens then go back to this pharmacy. read more

This is the worst pharmacy on the planet. I can't tell you how many times I have gone and they are out of prescriptions for weeks at a time and I just have to go without... or my auto refill medications won't be filled unless I call when I am out and ask for them to be done. It's ridiculous. They can barely fulfill the basic tasks of a pharmacy. Add in that the staff is less than enthused to be there and acts like you have ruined their day by showing up. Avoid this CVS unless you are cool with getting a boot on your car and have to pay $95 on the spot to get it off. I parked there and bought something out of there, but realized I just needed to go across the street for a few minutes and come back. I came back and there was the boot. I tried to talk to the managers who felt bad but they said there's nothing they can do. The insensitive person outside who put the boot on my car was like a robot who repeated his same words over and over but didn't listen to your reasoning. I returned what I bought at CVS and plan to never come here again. To be honest I think I might avoid all CVS's and just use Walgreen's or somewhere else. read more

The Customer Service is questionable. A trip to get a passport photo resulted in a $95 boot from a suggestion from a worker inside to go to the court house. Was it implied that we move our car? The people are nice, they really are but I really don't understand how the pharmacy operates. I've dropped off prescriptions, in person, and been told to come back within a certain time frame and when I return, they haven't filled it. YOU TOLD ME WHEN TO COME BACK!!! My son is on anti-seizure meds and we don't always have consistent refills, even if I call ahead. Again, the people are very nice but the pharmacy is ridiculous. Poor organization/ communication within the pharmacy department. Was asked to wait 10 minutes, drive around. Waited in line again to be told the prescription wasn't ready by a different person, I think it was the pharmacist (by this time it was getting close to 30 min) and to come in and wait, Could not with a senior at home and groceries getting hot. Will be looking to find another pharmacy. This is the second time this has happened for a single , common medication. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. I have had trouble with everything from getting an order filled to getting any feedback about the status of a prescription to getting help with a status update. I could not be more disappointed with my experience and will never get a prescription filled here again. Worst customer service ever. I would highly recommend you consider other options if you are considering using this pharmacy. The CVS at Target in Edgewood is 1000 times more responsive, helpful, and able to fill prescriptions. They usually have what I'm looking for. I come here for convenience, but they aren't 24 hours. The line is usually long, and the cashiers seem to not have mastered multitasking. The employees are ummm hit or miss. A stout female with unkempt dreadlocks seems to cronically have rude, snarky comments about my purchases during checkout!??? Like, ma'am please just shut up and ring up my items!!! There's also an older Caucasian lady with glasses who seems completely scatterbrained?! BUT then there's a petite caramel skinned female who is very nice, seems (mentally) present and is always helpful!! I think she's the manager. :) read more

The pharmacy here is always very busy, but they seem to have a big staff who work hard. I've gotten several prescriptions here and always feel like the staff is quite friendly and helpful. This is definitely a better pharmacy than the CVS on North Decatur across from the hospital read more

Don't go here unless you want to get booted! There are at least three look-outs lurking and waiting to boot your car if you step out of the parking lot for any reason. $75 entrapment! CVS let's the parking company guys follow you into the store to make sure that you don't step out of the square where this CVS is located. Even if you visit the store and buy an item, CVS allows the parking company to boot you but doesn't warn you. DON'T PARK HERE!!! I waited in CVS for an hour for a prescription and came back out to my car being booted. They claimed I left the parking lot which I didn't. Jessica at CVS was totally unhelpful and told me that it wasn't their responsibility to police the parking lot despite the fact that all businesses had to agree to this company and their stipulations. This is no way to treat customers. There was a lady with a baby going around begging for cash to get the boot off of her car and after paying $95 for my own boot, I gave her $20 in cash to help with hers. A $300 prescription just turned into a $415 prescription. I use CVS exclusively bc of their great rewards deals but not ever again. If I could give this CVS Pharmacy a zero I would. You cannot get through on the phone. On more than one occasion, they have lied to me about receiving prescriptions from my doctor. Today, I was number two in the drive up line to the pharmacy around 4:00 PM. I waited in that spot for over and hour while no one came to the window to help the handicapped person in front of me. I could not get out as it was a one lane situation and there were 10 cars behind me, also stuck. Finally everyone got out of cars and some people in the back backed up to let those who couldn't keep waiting leave. I got to the window and pushed the button (10 times over the 20 minutes I waited for someone to come to the window). I was then told that the prescription my doctor called in more than 24 hours ago still had not been processed. I could have found that out by calling ahead, but when I tried that I was on hold for more than 1 hour...yes really. It typically takes me two trips and one to three hours to pick up a prescription here. This store is also often out of stock for basic items you might pick up in a drug store. They also often claim I have no insurance and then make me wait or come back as it has to be reentered into the system. The people that work here are nice, but are not able to do their jobs (perhaps need better staffing or better policies and procedures). I wish I could use Walgreens...totally different experience there, but unfortunately my insurance insists on CVS. This place is enough to make you want to get a new job so you can get a different insurance plan and not have to go to CVS. Clearly, no one is managing this store competently and there is no motivation to improve things at a local or corporate level. Good luck if you choose to come here. read more

We just moved to Decatur and wanted to use this CVS for our prescriptions and I have to agree with the others on here who have said the pharmacy is incompetent. I tried to transfer things over from another CVS pharmacy and then refill a prescription but it went to my old pharmacy. After calling my old CVS twice and the new one 3 times over 2 days, I still don't have my medicine. Apparently, even though I can call and talk to my old pharmacy, the Decatur CVS is unable to reach them to finish transferring the prescription over. I've never had a problem transferring prescriptions between stores when I've used other pharmacies. I'm going to take my business elsewhere if I can. read more

I wouldn't recommend this CVS to anyone. Before entering the store, I walked across the road for just a minute or two, by the time i return to the store there's already a ""BOOT"" on my car. It didn't matter that I was going in the store after returning. They just wanted $95 dollars on the spot. "This isn't fair", I pointed out, there's 20 other cars in the parking lot, no one is in the store. Why aren't there boots on any of the other cars. I don't know was the answer. I used to shop at this CVS all the time on my lunch break. I went there at least once a week and I bought everything from make up to dog food. Unfortunately I will never set foot in that CVS again due to my experience two weeks ago. I've seen the signs in the parking lot. They say that unauthorized vehicles may be booted and there is a $95 fee to have it removed. Therefore I was sure to bring along my shopping bag and receipt for the $25 worth of things I bought in CVS as I walked down the road to buy a smoothie at Kale Me Crazy before returning to my car. When arrived at my car 10 minutes later there was a boot on it and a man standing there telling me that he watched me leave the parking lot and now I needed to pay him $95. I understand that these rules are in place so people won't shop in the square, but there needs to be some discretion on the part of people booting cars. I showed him my CVS receipt and he blankly stared at me as I talked then repeated that I owed him $95. I contacted the CVS manager, CVS customer service, and their landlord and they offered no help whatsoever. I almost hate to blame CVS for this situation, but they need to do a better job warning their customers about the strict parking rules. As regular and loyal client of this establishment, I expected much better treatment. read more

We return to our cars and find that we have to pay $150, $75 each to liberate our cars which have been booted. Are we depriving these businesses of customers??? The service at the pharmacy here is dangerous. The pharmacists have mistaken teaspoons for tablespoons when fulfilling prescriptions for my children, putting on the label a dosage 21/2 times what the doctor prescribed. They have also shorted me on a prescription when they ran out of the medication, which is fine if they tell me and reorder. They did neither. I was left wondering what happened to the other pills thinking that my 3 year old figured out how to open the child proof lid, until I finally figured out what the pharmacist did. I kept telling myself I would switch, but the location is convenient. Finally, a friend told me about the Medicine Shoppe, which is around the corner on Clairemont near MacDonalds. I look forward to a small locally owned personal pharmacist rather than a poorly run megapharmacy. read more
