The magazines display made it so I could readily read the names of the different magazines. I opted for a LIFE magazine Jimmy Carter commemorative edition with a pre-tax price tag of $14.99. The copy showed no wear nor markings. In a different section, seasonal offerings - Valentine's Day on this visit, were varied and taste bud-piquing. To make both of my purchases timely in nature, I opted for a package of red velvet Reese's peanut butter cups. Workers at checkout were clear in communication and I encountered no issues with payment (total of less than $19 with tax for both items). I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately I've been extremely disappointed. One of my meds they told me they do not have in stock and will not be ordering it. When I asked why not or if they'd ever order it they said not many of their patients request it. Other times when I've asked about it they said there is often a shortage because it's being over-prescribed which seems like the opposite issue then no one needing it. Still they never offered to carry it so I had to go to a separate pharmacy just for that med. My other meds became more expensive at Edmonds Pharmacy than the other pharmacies so I ended up transitioning them elsewhere. There is never a notification of meds being ready via text/phone or any other method so sometimes I'd go and they'd not have gotten the order or they had something waiting for me for a long time that I didnt know they filled. Today was the last straw though, I tested positive for Covid after having severe symptoms and wanted to get the prescription for Paxlovid filled nearby but when the provider contacted Edmonds Pharmacy they were told that they don't carry Paxlovid. My provider called me shocked and told me it was unbelievable they dont carry this of all things. Please think about the community you're serving and re-evaluate the decision to carry meds your customers are requesting.

There is a world of difference between these two pharmacies! Edmonds Family Pharmacy is always friendly, prompt and texts me about my prescription being ready, even before I've contacted them for a refill! The parking is tight for navigation, though there tends to be open spot(s) depending on when one comes. Inside the store is clean and sections straightforward to shop. Workers have been nice in my experience and we have found some really great/useful items. Growing up, we used the pharmacy for prescriptions, but ended up transferring across the street to QFC due to shorter wait times. However, we have used the Rite Aid pharmacy a few times after the switch when it carries what we need and might be faster than QFC. On occasion, it is also the closest option to the house to carry a given prescription for the medical ailment we did not see coming.

The environment was very relaxing and there was almost no line inside (though I believe there were a few cars in the drive-thru). The lovely pharmacy assistant that helped check me out was very nice and helped set up my prescriptions to auto-renew. Heaven knows I'm horrible at remembering to call in my refills until it's too late so hopefully this helps future me! Mind you, I have been to SEVERAL pharmacies in the area--usually grocery stores (several Safeways, Fred Meyer, QFC, Costco, Walgreens--you name it) and average spending at LEAST a half hour in line in a severely understaffed pharmacy with a single stressed out pharmacist juggling multiple tasks. I got none of these stressy vibes at Ostroms. The shop was super cute too and I will definitely find something here next time I need to purchase a gift. The customer ahead of me had a large number of groceries that she was bagging herself while Zakia stood by, looking pretty. I had a single quart of eggnog. While I was tapping my credit card, Zakia picked up my wallet and phone from the ledge next to the credit card machine and tried to hand them to the customer still bagging her groceries. I objected, of course. That wasn't all Zakia did. She said to me, "You're good to go." I started to leave before realizing that my egg nog was still sitting, out of reach, to Zakia's right on the conveyor belt. She did not hand me the receipt. Instead, she placed it face down on top of a messy pile of coupons. I could not have exited the store without showing my receipt to the security guard. Even if today was Zakia's first day of work, I will never understand how she can think It was appropriate to touch, much less pick up and hand off, another person's extremely sensitive and valuable personal property. The thing to do is to SPEAK and ask the customer bagging her groceries if the wallet and phone belonged to her. I also would have preferred to wait while Zakia did her job and bagged those groceries herself.

But other than that, staff are very nice and helpful. I even asked a complicated question about how to use a healthcard OTC card to pay for products and asked about which products were allowed and they were able to answer it for me (while other drug stores had not been able to answer this same question). Kudos to the staff for knowing the answer and being able to take me to a couple places in the store and point things out to me on regards to which products were allowed and how to identify them.
