They were okay overall in my limited experience. i stopped after a profoundly inappropriate text message. Who wants or needs a birthday TEXT from their PHARMACY? There is no added value in this. The manufactured personalization is fake, and they aren't going to know when during your birthday to send it, even it were an appropriate topic for interrupting. They should know your scripts and allergies and insurance filing info, not your schedule. This text was an overreach, and disrupted a rare opportunity to sleep in. Sleeping in one's birthday is a common happier birthday wish, so I felt it worth reporting. I also told the business, and I hope they discontinue this wrongheaded program soon. Using a local business for its unique ability to not act like a franchise shouldn't be like that. Even if it was an email, I don't want to live in a world where people get more birthday wishes from bots than loved ones. That's depressing. read more

You get way better personalized care in comparison to chains like CVS and worth my drive to support them. They also tend to have medications on stock and are whip fast for filling prescriptions. It's a pharmacy - and like every pharmacy there are delays, lines of customers, and miscommunications. But here the delays, lines, and miscommunications aren't nearly as bad as everywhere else. Someone always answers the phone, the staff always help as much as they can within the law, and it doesn't appear to be as soul crushing of a workplace as Safeway/Walgreens/etc. I've been going here for 2 years and drive past 4 other pharmacies on my way (all of which I tried before coming to Bob's). read more

I've asked for a manager to call me twice in the past two weeks. Still nothing. A total lack of attention to detail and horrible customer service ..and it's just getting worse. I had surgery on January 23. My doctor sent over pain meds and anti-nausea meds for me. I called the pharmacy from the hospital to see if my medication's would be ready so I could pick them up on my way home because I was on crutches. The gentleman I spoke to said yes they were both ready to go. Got there and only one of them was ready. Showed them the text message that I got from them saying that my prescriptions were ready and they couldn't help. Thankfully, I had anti-nausea meds at home and used those. The other prescription from day wasn't ready for a week!! These were POST SURGERY meds! Went in today, and the same guy was there, not paying attention to what was going on around him, not friendly, fairly rude. Wasn't listening to what I was saying and had to ask me my name again more than once. While I was waiting I can overhear the pharmacist apologizing to someone on the phone that someone incorrectly put their information in the computer and in fact they did have refills, but someone didn't put that in incorrectly. Yet another error No one is paying attention at this place! It's only a matter of time before they give someone the wrong medication and it has dire consequences! Whoever is manager there is not managing very well and should be replaced with someone that can. read more

I interacted with at least ten pharmacies this morning trying to fill an urgent Rx that was out of stock everywhere. Josh went way beyond to help me get my Rx transferred to a competitor who happened to have it in stock but wanted 3-5d to accomplish the transfer via their normal process. Bonus points: No annoying phone tree when you call them! read more

Bob Johnson's Pharmacy is truly a beacon of hope in a wasteland of big box drugstores who no longer have the ability (or resources) to care about their customers. I've had my prescriptions filled at Bartell's for over 20 years. Unfortunately their inability to fill several prescriptions in 3-5 days over the last few weeks had me looking elsewhere. Bob Johnson's staff and pharmacists were so personable. I had my doctor call my prescriptions in on a Friday and a few hours later, I received a notification that they were ready to go. The staff was kind and talkative, thoughtful, thorough, and they filled my prescriptions quickly. I 100% recommend them if you're in Greenwood, Ballard, Fremont, or in the area! read more

Outstanding! Just switched here after our nearby, formerly local-owned pharmacy was bought out and became very difficult to work with. Here the pharmacy is very well staffed with professionals who help you almost as soon as you walk in the door. They answer the phone to help with questions--unheard of at the chain pharmacies. A quick phone call confirmed they could give my kiddo some walk-in shots when I came to pick up my prescription. We were in and out with a smile. I absolutely adore this pharmacy! After years of increasing frustration w/Bartellʻs, this is truly a remarkable find! They take care of everything from contacting my Dr when there are no refills left on a prescription to calling a different state where my prescriptions were temporarily transferred. Today, they told me to always check that a prescription is being refilled when it should be. Yup, it's my responsibility to check whether they are doing their job as they are supposed to. I rarely write reviews, but after the extraordinary service I had today I had to tell the entire city what care Bob Johnson's Pharmacy takes when working with their customers. They spent at least one hour, or more, working with my insurance company and a pharmaceutical company and time talking to me about the issues they were having due to my insurance. They were busy and did not need to spend the time especially with a brand-new customer. Josh was fantastic, and so was the entire team. I say drop the big corporate pharmacies and go to Bob Johnson's. You won't regret it - they really do care. read more

Worst pharmacy I've ever used. They frequently do not do their jobs. When I tried to get my prescription transferred to another pharmacy to be filled there instead (because BJP didn't bother to fill it, despite being nagged), they lied and said they didn't have it. The team at Bob Johnson's goes above and beyond. I was sent home late in the evening from a day-surgery, with paper scripts for medication I was supposed to take that day. I had no hope or expectation that I'd be able to get those filled, and had been told by the hospital staff that would 'probably be ok.' When I called the after hours line, I was able to talk with the Pharmacist who asked a series of thoughtful and caring questions, and who then advised having my husband come by to pick up the meds, staying even later himself to fill those for us. We're so blessed to have this neighborhood pharmacy and their committed staff in NW Ballard. read more

They know their clients by name and they truly care. I had an awful moment when I was going out of town and thought I had all my meds. I was missing one. I called and left a message knowing that it was after hours so nothing would come of it but I was so glad I gave it a shot. Turns out there was someone there doing work in the back and she was willing to have me come and pick up my medication. They are always kind and helpful. If these people were any more helpful and friendly- it would be ridiculous. They are one of the last few compounding pharmacies in Seattle. I needed some special paste for a rash my newborn was dealing with- and these guys put it together from scratch (versus just handing over a pre-packaged container from elsewhere). I am done using the big chain pharmacies. The service and personalization at the big chains is lacking- and these are the two qualities that really shine at Bob Johnson's. Their prices are great and they're easy to get to as well. Dump your big pharmacy and give these guys a shot- it's worth it purely for the customer service. read more

We've been doing business with Bob Johnson's for years now, after going through all the major drugstores and grocery store pharmacies. The funny thing is, this is where we started 40 years ago. Only it was called Wilson Quick Pharmacy in Nashville and they DID have a soda fountain (hint, hint...) The people who work here bend over backwards to help customers any way they can, they do everything faster and more seamlessly than the chains. And, they actually seem concerned with solving any problems ( doctors, labs, insurance) that do come up, inevitably. The fountain should have blt's and burgers. When it goes in. read more

Bob Johnson's Pharmacy saved us! We picked up an antibiotic for my toddler from another pharmacy and it was unflavored (why?). Getting my daughter to take the unflavored medicine was like torture, but the pharmacy said they could not add a flavoring and referred us to Bob Johnson's. Bob Johnson's was happy to help us and had many flavors to choose from. She's taking her medicine now without the tears. We will be going to Bob Johnson's from now on, because they understand how to get children to take their medicine. read more

The pharmacist is always available for consultations. I recently called about an RX for my daughter that I thought may be losing it's effectiveness. I started using Bob Johnsons a few years back when I needed to get some thyroid medication compounded into a slow release form. They have been great to work with over the years. To help with tapering a different medication, they were able to compound it from capsules (where it's hard to taper at the end) into a liquid to make the taper easier. All it took was a quick call from my Dr and he spoke to the pharmacist and had it hammered out in minutes. They are friendly, helpful, and due to their ability to compound, can help out in ways other pharmacies can't. read more

While Bob Johnson's wasn't able to compound my particular medication (due to extremely limited availability of the ingredients; it turns out only one pharmacy in the US has a consistent supply), I was greatly impressed by the helpfulness and professionalism of the people I talked to while figuring out what my options were. My wife and I had been going to Ballard Plaza Pharmacy but when they went "compounding only" and transferred our information to Safeway we looked for another independent pharmacist and found Bob Johnson and are delighted. The staff are highly professional and competent and very cordial. Prescriptions are filled promptly and they never fail to assure that the patient knows how to take the med (on an empty stomach, for instance) and how to identify side effects if any. I just switched from the Walgreen's on 85th in the interest of moving from a big corporate store to a mom and pop. Since a pharmacy is about medications and privacy is important, I was a little concerned. I walked in and found that they do everything Walgreen's does including checking for drug interactions and billing your insurance company direct. They even called Walgreen's to transfer over my prescriptions. Excellent service and still small enough to remember me on the second visit three weeks later. Definitely try these guys out! read more
