The employees at this store are too much. You walk in the door--there's too of them right there greeting you and immediately asking you if you need help. They have nothing to do. Every time I'm in here which is often, I get asked like 4 times in a matter of 5 minutes if I need help finding something. Sometimes people just wanna shop unbothered. If I needed help I would ask. Then, when you go to check out in the self checkout line---every single time--an employee comes over before I have even scanned something and says---can I help you? Do you need a bag? Remember to put your extra care card number in! ---like damn I went to the self checkout line so I didn't need to talk to you. If I need a bag I'll ask. No I don't need help that's why I came to self checkout. And yes I will remember to put my extra care card number in I'm not stupid. The store never has anything, isn't well stocked, yet they have too many employees who have nothing to do but bother customers. read more

The clerks who work at this particular CVS are so friendly and helpful. The pharmacy people there worked so hard to clear-up a order for medicine that had been sent to the wrong pharmacy. They put-up with my restless mischief that I did to entertain myself during the long hours I waited there in their lobby. Yes it was me who scribbled on the faces of that one magazine that was there about serial-killlers. Sorry I can't stand those diseases in our society and I was bored and feeling frustrated about the mix-up. Anyways.. and to the clerk that recommended that Soup place. Worst experience. Some manager named Kate land had no bags, she was so slow moving I went to get one myself, she made a fuss that she had to get one, but it took her forever. They only have 1 checker for a lot of customers and Kate land just stands around and won't check your purchases out, so I assumed I was supposed to find my own bag. I asked her for an apology but she refused to apologize, I am going to corporate and complain about her. This is appalling behavior. 0 stars read more

CVS has been my pharmacy for over 25 years. Unfortunately, that ended yesterday. It seems like things are falling apart. there has been a steady decline for a while. I overlooked countess disappointment, wanting to give their system a chance. I know things have been difficult for them on many levels. I was treated so poorly yesterday, and it was not acceptable. To be honest a HIPAA violation occurred. It was clear staff were stressed. I don't recommend CVS at this time. read more

Transferring out of CVS altogether. for the third month in a row, my prescriptions haven't been ready when promised. I'm not talking about a few minutes or hours - I'm talking about days after the refill promise. when I went in I was told it would be about 15 minutes, due to short staffing. 40 minutes later, no ETA. I can understand being short staffed, but two of the four behind the counter had time to sit and talk about where they wanted lunch at. Time to move on, they don't seem to care. read more

I'm afraid that this CVS Pharmacy needs a lot of re-organization. I find it hard to find things I'm shopping for because aisles have disorganization in the over all meta sense. Aisles are not clearly labeled and items within aisles are a constant surprise. The friendly help is constantly busy helping find products. Often items arn't there and need to be be re- ordered. It's your typical CVS Pharmacy. They have just about everything you could need and one handy and convenient location. The employees are friendly and were very knowledgeable about the location of the items I needed to purchase. The prices are pretty much the same as any other CVS. read more

This CVS location took four days to start filing my prescription, and never answered their phone when I attempted to call to have my prescription transferred to another location. Do not use this CVS if you actually want your prescriptions in a timely manner (or at all). read more

The store desperately needs a remodel and the photo station is a graveyard, but their milk is cheaper than Winco by about 30-50c and almost a dollar less than at Safeway. The pharmacy staff has worked with me to try and fix a problem I had with the Open Door Clinic where the clinic charged me $100 for an appointment to get my prescriptions renewed, then only gave me one refill just because the doctor was a guest or something. The pharmacy staff here managed to get me two more refills (just asthma medicine) without me having to pay Open Door to go in again. They also price match, which is awesome. Would have given five stars, but: They recently put a sign up on the door saying people cannot bring their bikes into the store, which bothers me for two reasons: 1. The only bike rack they offer is the kind where you have to chain just your front tire unless you have a six foot chain lock, and it's old and rusty and looks easily broken. Plus it's in a little nitch in the parking lot, away from foot traffic and cameras so people could mess with it and nobody would even see. 2. Their parking lot is full of shady people. I get panhandled by guys with spray painted (aka likely stolen) bikes at least twice every single time I walk into this parking lot. There are also, often, very nice, expensive, yet totally trashed bikes abandoned here, which is another sign bike thieves hang out here. Nobody just abandons a $500 Giant brand bike unless they got it for free, and expect they can get another one for free at any time. The idea of leaving my bike out where it's fair game is honestly a damn good reason for me to not want to shop here at all, as my last bike was stolen (someone cut the chain) not three blocks from here. read more

I have only used CVS pharmacy twice and thats twice to many. The first time after waiting in line 20 minutes because the staff was to busy on the phone I was treated very rudely because I was not yet in the system and told that my wait would be over 2 hours for a single pill. When I went to pick it up (15 minute wait in line) I was told that they had no record of my prescription. So I call my doctor who called them and was told they had it right there the whole time. So I go back and wait another 15 minutes in line, again, to actully pick it up. My second visit I called in my refill two days before I planned on picking it up so it would be ready for me. I go wait 15 minutes in line only to find out that they have not yet filled my prescription and it wouldn't be ready for another hour at the earliest. So I have to go back later wait another 30 minutes in line to get my prescription. I will be taking my business somewhere else, where the employees are nice, there are no long waits and they get things right the first time! read more

Some of the workers here are rude ass hell. But at least the place is clean. I do shop here a lot. But there is one lady here that is sooooo rude i really want to smack her(of course i won't) she argues with me about my bucks and doesn't give me my CVS coupon discounts or let me use my bucks. Basic CVS, it hasn't gone under a remodel yet which is unfortunate because it could really use it. You walk in and it just feels old and musty. It's also really understaffed, there's always a huge line which is crazy because the store is never crowded, they just never have anyone at the register. read more

I agree with the others that gave this CVS a single star. The reviews are accurate, there's hardly ever anyone working in the store. The pharmacist is different & rotated all the time. When they say a Rx will be ready, it usually isn't, only to be told to go & come back in an hour. There's something "magic" in the pharmacy regarding an hour. I think it's their window to fill medications when they've not started. So, that's annoying, usually they fill it sooner, but never offer to expedite if you're willing to wait. And if you do wait, they punish you for that too. One evening I was waiting along with several others that had been there waiting too. They were "backed up". It was literally an hour & 1/2 I waited. I injuries myself a while ago & had to use crutches, I used the little carted driver to get around the store & buy supplies for my injury. After I paid, I asked, can I take the cart outside so I can unload my stuff? The answer, absolutely not, it can't leave the carpet. I was like, how do I take my 2 bags to the car while crutches I'm just learning to walk with? Luck had it that a very nice lady behind me, who worked there, was leaving & offered to help me. I wish I could give her kudos, but don't recall her name. Otherwise, the employees there are fairly difficult & busy & over whelmed it seems. Also, they didn't have my medication in stock when I called it in, having to order from another store. Then, the earthquake, no meds! Aww! Sometimes! I wouldn't recommend CVS! read more

I am livid. My doc got me a new prescription for my heart meds yesterday and after going to the pharmacy it wasn't ready and was told I'd be getting a call when it was. While waiting I heard the guy behind the consultation counter give INCORRECT INFORMATION about how to use hormonal contraceptives (YES it does matter when you take the pill and YES you should consult with your doctor about skipping periods [having a period is not medically necessary unlike what this guy claimed and generally for someone like me who has endo we skip periods often to avoid the debilitating pain] for a child of that age, don't want to give too much info and violate their privacy...but really? I've been on BC for 20 years and know the ins and outs and his guy was blatantly wrong). 24hrs later and still waiting for the call about my meds. I call the pharmacy, no one answers and on hold for 10 minutes. Repeat another hold for 10 minutes. No answer. Call again and try the general store line and get the manager who was pleasant and said he'd check on the pharmacy, but that they were short staffed and "slammed." I get it, but do I really have to wait 24-48hrs to not have any word about my *heart medication* because YOU have a staffing issue?? Wait wait wait still nothing. Call back and on hold another 10 minutes with pharmacy. Call again and got a Charlotte on the phone whose ghastly shortness and tone also quipped at me that she was short staffed and have customers in front of her. Guess what? I would be in front of you too if I could get my heart to stop racing and I weren't so dizzy and nauseous even sitting down. This is unacceptable. Finally get a call from pharmacy and they say insurance isn't going thru. Ok...why couldn't we have verified that yesterday while I talked for ten minutes to the pharmacist about which profile was most recent? I've been here two years and used a different CVS (HERE in Eureka) in the past and my most recent profile is still Massachusetts from 10 years ago? And you didn't verify my insurance that whole time? There is something deeply flawed here. If my doc were open (it's a three day weekend) I would immediately have them get me a script to a different pharmacy since I can't get this one to even answer any of my damn calls. read more

Unfailingly pleasant and service-oriented! This is leader dependent in that the attitude of the Arcata CVS is unhelpful and rigid. The staff at the Myrtle Avenue pharmacy can comply with the rules but in a compassionate way; they remain aware that they are dealing with sick and stressed clients, be they patients or prescribers. They are a breath of fresh air... professional, kind, and efficient. read more

I will not be using CVS ever again, and I will be encouraging others to do the same. I had to buy a couple things from there today, and I noted that despite seeing employees, there were no registers open it seemed. But at the front was a woman who greeted you when you came in, she was sitting in a chair. I intuitively sensed a false sort of friendliness off her, that immediately made me uncomfortable, and rightly so as it turned out. I saw only self-checkouts open, and I don't use those out of principle, as well as finding them a nuisance to use, often making mistakes. I told her this, and she went over to one of the other registers to ring me up, but she said the normal registers are never open anymore, and I asked why. She said they don't need them. This is a small town, and personal talk is normal here. I mentioned that I was surprised at this situation. She made a funny face, and said that me not using the self-checkouts makes things harder on the workers. That is false. Self-checkouts put people out of jobs. This is well known. She said that 'they had not lost an hour', and self-checkouts allow them to 'do two things at once'. You mean, instead of helping your customers, you can just sit there? And then I asserted that people all over the world ARE losing jobs because of automated things, and most of us don't like using them regardless. They are right up there with automated messages when you call a number and can't get a live person. No thanks. I said I was surprised she had this attitude, and in a small town. What really was terrible though, was I left with her saying that it's good that things are going this way, because people 'cost too much money'. And I was just shocked at such an attitude by an employee. Workers, and serving customers to their satisfaction cost too much money? I guess I should not be surprised, that after covid, the only people that these businesses can hire, are corporate brown nosers who don't care about what happens to other workers, or customers, as long as they personally don't feel affected by it. The rest of us set standards, and we won't work under these conditions. read more

Every time I enter the store there's a nasty smell. Either it's mildew or something, but today it smelled like a dirty diaper, no joke. The cashier, Amethyst, was very nice, though, and professional. She helps create a friendly environment in the place. read more

The staff here are amazing. Yes, it's a challenging neighborhood for retail, with lots of transients and street people hanging out. I hear they have a big problem with shoplifting. But the workers are upbeat, attentive and deal with everyone kindly. In addition to everything you'd expect in a large chain pharmacy, I've been grateful to find such a wide selection of groceries, from fresh milk and eggs to raw nuts and specialty crackers. I know my neighbors who don't drive appreciate the selection as well. And the prices are reasonable. And they're open late. read more

If you are expecting to come in and out quickly, you thought wrong. Expect to be waiting in line for an upwards of 30 minutes. This would be more acceptable if there wasn't one cashier, with multiple people walking around in the back. The people in the back look like they are doing NOTHING. After the line reaches down the entire row, someone calls in assistance. The assistance never comes. This has been my expirence the last two times I've been in. read more

I have tried to shop at the CVS Pharmacy on Myrtle Avenue since they took over Longs Drug Store. BUT, every time I have gone into CVS on Myrtle Avenue I vow never to return again! Today I attempted to purchase a watch battery and was once again faced with the most apathetic, unhelpful, uncaring, unsmiling and downtrodden employees. They are unfriendly, and most of all do NOT even make an attempt to help and seem to just disappear. I am amazed this place can stay open - I feel sorry for those that cannot shop anywhere else - I know I won't be shopping there again and hope no one else shops there. Just like this morning, I have had to leave that store everytime I have attempted to shop there, without a purchase due to the inept management and employee apathy. In the defense of the employees I know that poor attitude comes from the top down and maybe corporate headquarters should take a look at their management style and maybe it would "roll down hill" and employee moral would improve and customers, like me, would come back. But as of today...I won't ever be coming back and I'm telling EVERYONE I can to NEVER frequent your store! It will be a store that I never think of using becuase they are never helpful. read more

This is the second time this month I have been in the local CVS and seen a customer with a dog. The first time, the dog was on a leash, sniffing the lower shelf of candy. The woman holding the leash was oblivious. Today, the dog was not on a leash. He wandered around, near the owner, at his leisure. The cashier said she was told to not say anything. Here we go again. Careful not to step on their "rights". What about my right to get something at a store and be confident it does not have dog drool on it ? Shopping elsewhere from now on. read more
