It's not crowded nowadays. I only go here because it's in a convenient location. They have promotions for their photos every now and then which is why I order from them. But obtaining the photos is an absolute gamble. I've received the photos I ordered maybe 60% of the time so it's a good thing I don't have to pay until pickup. Their photo station is very unorganized and staff does not seem to care about it. As for the photo quality, I would say it's alright. Not the best but not horrendous. read more

It works if in the area. My problem with this one, is the amount of people. A busy location. While I'm sure that's good for the company's bottom line, it can lead to delays and logistical challenges. That being said great pharmacy team. They work hard and in a professional manner. Parking is also unique to say the least. Pan Am Shopping Center, is being renovated right now. Definitely be careful. First, Im rating the customer service here. Products in stock get a 5 and I've never been to the pharmacy. I'll update my review when that visit takes place. In the meantime... When you purchase ONE item that costs $41 at CVS, you want to make sure what the refund policy is. Apparently, the cashier thought that must be the most absurd question ever asked because she looked at me for a good 6 seconds before saying yes you can return it and giving this smart cookie look. She also forgot to use her face muscles and fake a smile. She didn't bother to say thank you or have a lovely day, you know, like a good cashier would do. It's close to the large Safeway grocery store in the same shopping center. The main store is open 24hrs a day. Almost everytime I've been to this store, the cashiers never say hi or smile, and they push my bag of items towards me after the transaction is done. Someone from the pharmacy staff is not polite under pressure. Seemed to be very busy when I called. This girl was in such a hurry that at one point said she had other people to help. I wasn't able to ask other questions. I felt hurried so I said ok to everything she said. I give this a second star because of all the times I've called there was one time that the pharmacist who picked up the phone was polite on the phone and gave me the needed time to address my questions. I wonder if the pharmacy is understaffed? I like to support local businesses, that's why I care to write this review. Even though sadly, is not a 5 star one. The overall store has an outdated appearance. From the moment you enter the store you feel depressed. Sad that I have to leave this review because I usually have a good experience here. but this has to be said, because whoever the pharmacist was that was working on 10/21/19 at 8pm at the Nutley st. location in Fairfax is either lazy or stupid. They refused to fill a prescription for a glucometer and test strips because the pharmacist could not read the prescription. When I read it to him word for word - because I'm a physician and I can understand the terminology- they still did not fill the prescription. Went across the street to the Walgreens and they filled it without hesitation. Don't bother coming here, they can't read. read more

Reem hooked it up for me yesterday! Totally spaced on getting a bday gift for a sweet little girl turning 5. The one thing I did know was that this little girl loves everything Hello Kitty. I didn't have a lot of time, but this CVS was on the way back from something I had to do. I called first to see if they had this Hello Kitty activity book I had seen online. Reem went over and grabbed the last one and stashed it behind the counter for me. When I came in hours later, she was exceedingly friendly and also helped me find another thing I needed. If I can rate a give this place a "zero" I totally would. Giving it a 1 is just being nice. I have been here several times for my prescriptions. Called yesterday (before pharmacy closed for the evening no one picked up the phone it just keep ringing. A Co worker called in a RX it was never received til next day while he was on hold for 20 mins the lady on the phone was rude. Then I get a text stating I needed to up date my insurance so I click on the link to snap my insurance information only to get to the pharmacy to someone saying "oh it wasnt legible" sorry but it was pretty darn legible. I recommend going else where to get your prescriptions filled because this place is a joke. read more

This CVS is very underwhelming. If you're in the general vicinity, go to the one on Arlington Blvd. Not much better, but it's something. This location has no self-check out machines, and the lines can get unruly. Combined with a poor layout, patrons waiting in line are usually blocking the first 3 aisles. There have also been countless times where I've went in to find not a single shopping cart in the entire store. They tell me people steal them, and twice, they explicitly went out in the parking lot but did not find any at all. They also would not empty one of the carts they were using to stock items, despite the fact that I was buying like 12 12-packs of coke, which is way too heavy and large to carry. Parking is not very close and usually packed, also. The staff here are generally pretty nice, though, and they have always been helpful and accommodating for my coupon use. However, the small size, limited stock, and higher than advertised prices in this location make couponing here a real headache. I only go here when I have other business in this shopping center, otherwise, I'll stick to the one at Arlington Blvd. and Gallows. read more

This pharmacy and the pharmacists are trash. My mom was dying in hospice and they wouldn't refill prescriptions bc it was "too soon" to fill. When on hospice at the end of life the prescriptions change within hours. We went from as needed lorazepam .25 every 2 hours as needed to .25 every hour for terminal agitation. We needed more and when I went to refill it I was told it was too soon to fill. I called hospice and they called the pharmacist to fill the script. When I didn't get a text or hear back I went there and spoke to the pharmacist. He told me he did get a call from hospice and would be able to fill the script however they don't have any in stock. I lost my mind when I heard this. All I saw was red. Why not tell me that earlier in the day? It's not like they ran out they never had it In stick to begin with. They also wouldn't help in locating the liquid lorazepam in other locations. Who denies a dying patient this? After loosing my shit I left in tears! Hospice was able to locate the drug in the cvs pharmacy in Annandale. I drove there like a mad woman to get it before they closed. If you have a loved one going through hospice stay far far far away from cvs pharmacies. They are heartless animals and the scum of the earth and I hope every one that works there has to deal with someone like themselves when they have a loved one in hospice. During a time of great stress they could have taken a road of compassion but instead they added significantly to my stress. My mom passed within hours of me driving around northern Virginia trying to locate the medication she needed for end of life care. read more

Yes, they sold what I needed and I even found their service polite ("next in line, please"), but visiting this CVS was a chore borne out of necessity, not a welcoming shopping experience. read more

Use the one across the street of you can. It doesn't matter what time it is, morning, afternoon, midnight, there's always a line and one (1) cashier available. I work nearly next door to this CVS so I'm here routinely in the mornings and every single time I experience the exact same disappointment. It goes like this: I walk in the door and no more than 30 seconds later I'm in line with my item(s). I could be first in line, I could be behind 10 people; it wouldn't matter. The influx is always the same at the same times and they never think to put more than one person behind the counter. I shouldn't be first in line with one item and be worried about making work next door in 10 minutes on time. Get it together CVS. Also, one of the dudes looks kinda like George Lucas. This location is easily the most incompetent I've ever come across, and there are plenty of terrible CVS stores. I have had several prescriptions messed up over the years, but I've had two controlled substances incorrectly administered to me in the last two months. The second time the pharmacist admitted she knew it was wrong, and that my original medication wasn't in stock. She didn't disclose any of that to me when I dropped it off, despite me waiting for the prescription. She didn't seem phased whatsoever that she gave me something different. At least with the first error, that pharmacist was genuinely concerned. But this woman was rude and clearly did not take her job seriously. If it wasn't for my insurance company, I would not go to any CVS location. I will no longer visit this location even if it was an emergency. read more

I was on a trip to the area last week and forgot my allergy medicine. I went to the pharmacy and explained my situation. I only needed 2-3 days of the medication. the pharmacist explained that since I was not a CVS customer I would need to prescription. They gave me all of the information I needed and I contacted my doctor. They had the prescription filled in less than 30 minutes, excellent. The reason I am writing a review is that I had the same situation happen at a Walgreen's in Plano, TX and the staff was absolutely horrible. Pharmacy staff are completely unorganized and incompetent. They routinely try to overcharge you for medications, make you wait in long lines, and harass you repeatedly with automated phone messages and hang-ups. WRONG INFORMATION. When picking up a new prescription for a medication I'm supposed to start taking daily for the next 3-5 years, I was told the cost for a one-month supply would be $300, even after taking my insurance into account. Aghast, I spent several hours on the phone with my doctor's office and the insurance company, and searched the internet for coupons to try to find a more reasonably priced alternative. It turns out this CVS pharmacy staff quoted me the wrong price -- $300 is for a three-month supply, not one. Once I figured this out, I had to make additional calls to get the prescription filled (again), and return to the store (again). A big waste of time for nothing. UNORGANIZED. When I recently went to pick up a prescription refill for a different medication I've been taking for the past year which is covered 100% by insurance, I was told it'll cost $90. When I protested, I was told to go wait in a different line to talk to someone else, who then informed me they just needed to get my updated insurance card information for 2015 (even though I'd already given it to this pharmacy twice in the past two months). I then had to go back to the original line to wait again for staff to work the register. What's the point of giving them my insurance card information each time if they never bother to note it in their records, and then try to charge me full price for prescriptions every time I return? PHANTOM PHONE CALLS. This pharmacy repeatedly calls my cell phone and doesn't leave messages (I have this CVS pharmacy's phone number saved in my contacts, so I know it's them). Half the time when I do get a live person on the phone, their accent is so thick I cannot understand what they are saying (same is true for the staff working the counter in the store). read more

I have never been so annoyed by one place in my entire life. I have been going to this CVS for several years strictly out of convenience. The store and the pharmacy you name its a problem. I have had 2 encounters with the same cashier man who on the first encounter had 2 fingers up his nose before handling my change! I told him to keep it. On the second he was actively clipping his finger nails on to the register counter as I was putting my stuff on the counter!!!!! I stopped buying things from the store all together. I continued to go to the pharmacy because I always had someone else pick up my drugs and had never had to encounter the staff. I wish for those days again because repeatedly I have wanted to jump over the counter and scream at these people about what real customer service is!!!! I am in the medical field myself and I would be shocked if a client every came back if I spoke to them like these people. For starts expect your prescriptions to take forever!!! Even if they tell you it will only take 15 minutes. I recently went to a specialist on Tuesday and they called in my prescriptions and told me it would be ready later that day. When I got there the girl (who looked like a careless teenager) told me nothing was ready for me. I assumed because it was the same day they probably didn't get to it. She told me "we will call you when its in". So I leave thinking they would call me. Indeed on FRIDAY the machine calls to tell me that my prescriptions are ready and I get there and the same girl tells me she has nothing. I tell her I got a call and she says "oh it was probably for a refill sometimes they just send those calls out" WTF!!!! I told her it was 2 new prescriptions and even if it wasn't why do you have nothing for my supposed filled refills!!!! She then tells me they never received my prescription order from the doctor. WHY DID THEY NOT TELL ME THAT ON TUESDAY! I doubt it was an error at the specialist because I have had the same problem from different doctors offices calling in my prescriptions. Another pharmacist told me my prescriptions would take 15 minutes. I waited an hour in the store and when I finally came to the counter to see if they were ready yet she told me they needed to go to a compounding pharmacy and they couldn't make it there or I would have to wait for special pieces to be ordered!!! Again why did they wait and not call me and had me pacing in the store for an hour!!! AM DONE WITH THIS CVS ALL TOGETHER! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS CVS TO ANYONE! It is much more worth your sanity to travel to a farther one. read more

My 2 year old's playpen is more organized than this store. I've had constant problems with this pharmacy going back several months. There is no way I can explain it all here so I will just try to give the highlights. On at least 6 occasions, we have been called to pickup our medication stating it's ready, but when we arrived, it never was. We had to make 2nd trips on several of those trips. We kept telling them about this problem, but it was never solved. The manager agreed to give us a $50 credit/gift card, but never sent it to us. Then paperwork wasn't sent to our doctor for approval, on time sensitive medication. They assured it would be done the next day and said it was. But when we showed up, it wasn't done. No medicine. The pharmacist lied to us about being a temp and wouldn't give us her name. I repeat, she LIED to my face. Would you want to deal with a dishonest pharmacist? The store tried to give me a gift card, but it didn't work, lol. Yet another fail. I filed a complaint with Corporate and the district manager reached out to me and offered me $75 for my trouble; I refused. He was more concerned with his incompetent store, and not the customer who has been dealing with constant problems at this location for months and months. When I reached out to customer service, and left her 3 messages, she NEVER returned my call. I left a message with another member of the "leadership" team in my area, and he never returned my call either. Wow, fantastic customer service CVS! They went up to $100 gift card and that was it. The $100 isn't shit considering all the time I've wasted, the dozen wasted round trips to the store, not filing paperwork, not having our medicines ready on time, the pharmacist who lied to me, the continued incompetence, the failure to have anyone call me back, and the general lack of care for a CVS cunstomer who has been shopping there for years. If I were you, I would stay away from this store. Stay the hell away from all CVS b/c there seems to be a track record of not caring for their customers throughout the organization. There is a Walgreens across the street and they have been very professional till this point and we've had zero issues. I hate CVS so much now that I'll be giving that gift card away, I'm not happy with how they handled this. I refuse to step into another CVS store. read more

This review is explicitly for the pharmacy, I've had nothing but good experiences at the minute clinic and store. The pharmacy is a nightmare. I can deal with the long lines, it's NOVA, you have to wait for everything. I cannot, however, deal with being screamed at on the phone every time there's an issue with my prescriptions. I call to ask if my doctor has called the latest thing in (before wasting everyone's time to find out it's not done yet) and am literally berated...I've moved on to one closer to work in Rosslyn just so I can avoid talking to those people, and on the off day that my doctor calls something in to the old store even the Rosslyn pharmacists roll their eyes while dealing with the fairfax group to transfer the prescription over... I am not a big fan of CVS, and I would normally not think of writing a review, especially a positive one for various reasons. I have had bad experiences with the pharmacy too many times. So in general, I would give CVS 1 or 2 stars... I am giving this one in particular 4 stars for the one reason that, I went in to pickup two over the counter medicines. The cashier, when he was about to scan them, he checked the expiration date and noticed both of the meds expired in less than 2 months and asked me if I wanted to go back and see if I could get another one that is not ready to expire as he said they were about to pull it of the shelf. I went and checked and they didn't have any other dates and bought it as the medicine I was getting I knew I would use up before the expiration date. So for this reason, I have a bit more faith and bit more trust in CVS. If all employees of CVS was like this then I would support CVS much more. But now, my pharmacy of choice is, and has been Walgreens for a long time. read more

Best customer care I have ever gotten from this pharmacy and Minute Care. This is a well run one. The pharmacist was hard working, yet he was mindful of everything going on with the entire crew. They pleasantly spent the time to explain the difference in cost to me. I appreciate this so much since the cost for prescriptions have gone up so much. They are fast with ringing up other people at the meantime as well. They also spent a long time on the phone locating what I need from nearby pharmacies. First off, I don't write reviews normally. I hate everything about CVS and their pharmacy department. When my health insurance basically forced me to go there, I wanted to cry. I chose the Pan Am location because the Vienna store always has huge lines. Pan AM has a minute amount of business in comparison, but they don't get you out the door any faster. Or more politely. It's all about the money-forget customer service. We , the customers, can't help it if the store won't give the pharmacy a cashier. Received a message that my prescription was ready, went to pick it up, waited 40 minutes while they were filling others that were waiting. Mine was ready but was told that I had to wait. I left without it because I was on my lunch hour. I received two more messages, I went back to pick-up and was told that I had already picked it up and that my insurance would not approve of a refill, the pharmacist was rude and said that i did pick up but could not produce proof as in me signing for it. It is insurance fraud, I will be reporting them and going to the top to report the rudeness. I have witnessed other customers having problems and have also watched customers count and verify their prescriptions. She looks awful and I wonder if she is on drugs. read more

If these was a way to give this CVS no stars, I would. My wife and I were unfairly treated and insulted by the staff (Tony) in this CVS. On February 8th around 11:00 pm my wife and I visited this CVS. My wife grabbed a women pad in her hand on one of the shelf and we then walked to the food area to find some sandwiches. After we found there is not many fresh foods left we decided to go to the Safeway nearby. My wife put the women pad on a random shelf and we are about to leave. The staff named Tony stopped us and checked my wife's handbad without any permissions. After he found nothing he wanted in my wife's bad he said very rudely that he saw us putting something in our bag and then take it out and leave it on the shelf. During our whole time at CVS, my wife was grabbing the small bag of pad in her hand all the time. We did not put anything from CVS in out bag!!! We insisted him to look at all the recorded monitoring videos before any judgements but he refused and he said he only believed his eyes! I told him that I want to see the manager and Tony said he is the manager! On the following day, I checked with CVS and they found no manager at this store named Tony. At the end, without any evidence he yelled at me and my wife "get out of the CVS, or he will call the Police." Wait a minute, I am the person who need to call a police! For several nights I am all thinking about all these insults from Tony in this CVS and I did not fall asleep well. First thing now is that I will avoid this CVS my whole lifetime and second me and my wife will insist Tony and this CVS formal apologies to us. read more

I went here for my pharmacy after a disaster of an experience with rude/incompetent staff at Walgreens across the street. Moved over here in March. It is June now. My improved experience lasted 2 months (since I was trying to fill a 3rd month's prescriptions that triggered this issue). At first, the pharmacy staff seemed nicer and more competent than Walgreens...lines were often annoyingly long and went by slowly when it was time to pick up things, but it wasn't the end of the world. My real issue came when I called in last night trying to refill 3 prescriptions. I was going out of town Monday and wanted to know if they'd be able to be filled before then, as in, would the insurance cover it, as sometimes, it's a little too early for the insurance to cover it, and wanted to know as soon as possible if I'd have to contact my doctor to get the prescriptions filled where I was going. The rather rude male employee on the phone kept answering the question from the standpoint of "yes, 2 of them in stock, just not the 3rd, which would be available after 5 pm Monday". Like I kept trying to rephrase my question so he'd answer what I was really asking, but no, it was like a broken record! I told him I don't want CVS to have my business at all, and promptly hung up, then redialed the store and asked for a manager. She didn't seem to 100% understand me since she had trouble finding ways to express things, maybe was not even truly paying attention to what I was saying, and did nothing to help me or make me feel better about this employee. Then, insult to injury, I find a message on my voicemail this morning: my prescriptions are ready for pickup. It was cut off (automated) and I didn't know if it was 1, 2, or even all 3...but I did not actually want them filled, so I called back to cancel them, and apparently, literally only the one he kept repeatedly saying wasn't available until Monday after 5 pm was ready!!! Well, I didn't want ANY of them filled there, so I told the woman that and then hung up and dialed again, asked for manager again...I get the same unhelpful woman who seemed to remember me, BUT even when I added how the one he told me was NOT available was the one ready, and how I didn't want any of my prescriptions filled here anymore, she still did not care. What happened to customer service? I haven't gotten any respect from customer service employees in Fairfax. Disgusting. Reported to corporate. read more

Not that anyone reads reviews for cvs, but please for your own benefit use any other pharmacy. They enrolled me in text messaging which I thought would be convenient until I got messages multiple times a day. They then auto enrolled me in refills which means they then bill my insurance company even when I don't want the prescription. I've given them my updated insurance information at least three times now, but still get calls saying they can't fill my prescription because my insurance won't go through. Well, yeah you're still using my old info! Always a long wait for inconvenient, incorrect prescriptions and terrible service. Going to take my business to a local, small business pharmacy who actually cares about people. read more
