One because they used to be great. Now, this CVS is a tragic example of how revenue trumps customer care for them. This pharmacy has gone downhill so bad that it amazes me they still have customers. I have been a customer at this store for more than 15 years. They used to be notable for having every type of medication in stock and being close to the hospital it was a bonus that they were 24 hours. Now you can't even talk to a human on the phone. You have to leave a message and play phone tag with them for three days when you are sick. The hospital ordered medications for me and I went to get them before going home. They didn't fill my antibiotic- the most important medication in there and didn't bother to mention it to me when I picked up my prescriptions. When I looked it up it said it was too soon to refill- this is a medication I have never taken before in my life so I have now missed a day on this medication while I wait for them to call me. I have a life threatening infection and you would think they would tell me when I picked up the others so we could figure it out then. They clearly value revenue over customers health and they have techs and clerks running around who don't have a clue what customer service is. It seems their only concern is getting the line down so they can go back to counting pills. The customer service is atrocious even on a good day. 10 years ago this would have never happened but they have become so irresponsible and robotic they may as well hire baboons to run the counter. Baboons would probably smile once in awhile and pretend to care. Sadly, I know that CVS couldn't care less if they lose a customer but they have lost one in me. I'll take a mom and pop or even a Walgreens over this cvs any day. Until they get someone killed they won't care and even then it's questionable. read more

This one is busy, but consider it's location. A lot of prescriptions will be rolling in. My hats off to the pharmacy staff. I have no clue how they do it, but have been thankful to them, after some hospital visits. Parking here is, just be wary of other people. A lot of parking area cutting through, and be careful leaving. A green light might not be noticed, when it's red for everyone else. Staff here are amicable. Sometimes they seem understaffed, but that is the norm these days. Sometimes CVS has a exceptional sale, but usually Walgreens is cheaper. Go here for basics and prescriptions. Every time I've been to the CVS pharmacy it's been great. However, I did call this evening because there was an elderly man with a limp who was trying to find a CVS that was open so he could get his medication. Half the time unfortunately when CVS says on their website, they're 24 hours they are not, so I sent this poor man over there. I decided to call and verify. After fighting through the automated system, and then being on hold, somebody finally picked up at the pharmacy, and I was extremely cheerful and asked what their hours were and I was just completely hung up on. At least tell me they're online or put me on hold or something please. Does not give off the feeling that as a potential customer I was even heard. I'm sure whoever it was might've been just having an off day or very busy but I hope this doesn't become a repeat performance. read more

Not a 24 hour pharmacy, despite advising the same on their website and to local hospitals, so don't send prescriptions here. Upon trying pick up an urgent prescription, I was surprised to find it closed and was greeted by a cold impersonal employee who wagged his finger at me. I particularly like this cvs unlike many for a few reasons. I used to leave right down the street so it was always my go to 24 hour stop if I ever needed anything. Pros: 1)It is always organized-you literally always see employees working on the shelves 2)They are usually fully stocked with anything you need. Nothing worse than going somewhere and they are sold out! 3)They have multiple self check out stations! Now this didn't seem too big of deal until I moved and remembered what it was like to wait in long lines at CVS. 4)The pharmacists have remained the same for quite some time now, as well as the people who work in the pharmacy. Cons: 1)I will say unless the pharmacist, John, is working then you will probably be waiting awhile for your medicine. 2)This CVS, among the other 24 hour relocations, has its fair share of interesting individuals. Inside and outside. 3)The pharmacy line is always very long, no matter the time of day! All and all, I miss living down the street from this CVS and being able to navigate easily through the aisles. read more

This is one of my favorite CVS pharmacies in the area! There are so many things that make it unique from other CVS stores. My favorite thing is that the pharmacy is open 24 hours a day! While many CVS stores are open 24 hours a day, this is the only one I know of in the area where the pharmacy is open 24 hours a day! I'm guessing it's due to its proximity to Inova Fairfax Hospital, which is just down the street. No more rushing to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription before it closes! Yay! Another cool thing about this place, which is definitely on the larger size as far as CVS stores go, is that it sells freshly made sandwiches, salads, and cut-up fruit, not to mention a large selection of bread products! I was amazed when I first saw this! Most of the staff here are extremely friendly and helpful!! It's also nice that they have a self-service option (with staff available if you need help). The only thing this store doesn't have is a Health Clinic, but since there are so many in the immediate area, that is probably the reason why. They do offer flu vaccinations. This CVS is located in the Yorktown Center, which has many great other places to visit, such as Aldi, Starbucks, the UPS Store, and several restaurants. If you are looking for a pharmacy that's always open and has friendly service and a great selection, this is definitely a great option for you! read more

What an utter M E S S ! People lined up at drop off area, vaccine check-in area, vaccination area. NOBODY at the vaccine check-in booth. Per the two ladies ahead of me in the vaccination check-in line, no one had been there for 20 minutes. This was a morning apptmt, when most people are back at work, etc. The kicker -- everybody had made APPTMTS! It was 10:15 AM; the 10:00 AM person wasn't checked in yet. Nobody knew what was going on; nobody came. Sorry. I am geriatric with hip DJD, can't stand for long periods. Had not brought a rollator along, didn't think it was necessary. I just left the store. No other option. A similar scenario happened with another local CVS Store for a previous vaccination attempt. Hmm ..... Conclusion: will no longer pursue vaccinations at CVS. Just Disgusting CVS, I have so many problems. CVS, why do you hire people who don't even have patience to take photos of babies?! Let me tell you this story. We had to take pictures. We went to the CVS on 8124 Arlington Blvd, and they did not have the white background to put the baby on the floor. The man who works there did not even have the patience to take the photo. The staff is very rude and liars. He said, "Take a picture at home, then come print it here." Then tell me, why am I here?! Then we decided to go to the CVS on 134 West Broad Street. The person who helped us there, named Franklin, did take the pictures. But she did not even have patience. She acted very rude to us. But I know SHE KNOWS it takes a long time to take pictures for a 4 month baby. She wanted to do it fast and get rid of us, the audacity. I was trying to have them transfer a recurring prescription from a pharmacy in DC to this location, and the lady had zero patience and not willing to help me with my request. Prior to reaching out to this location, I had called the DC location and confirmed that the VA location can transfer the prescription easily. Instead I received rude treatment and refusal to help. This place seems to carry more stuff than other locations and it may be because it's 24 hours. Either way, I'm not complaining. The self checkouts they have, make this store the go to place for in and out. The couple of times I have been here, I have not seen many workers in the floor or in the self checkout but thankfully I have run into problems where I've needed their help. The shopping center where it's located is old school and parking can be a hassle since this area can get busy during rush hour. All in all, good experience so far! read more

Fiancee just had wisdom teeth removed and dropped off prescription notes. There was no one to attend to her on the drop off line yet there was no line. She waited 15 minutes to finally have her prescription noted and now we have been waiting over 30 minutes for the medications. Drop off your prescriptions elsewhere. This place is trash. read more

Review #23 This CVS store is located off Gallows Road and Arlington Blvd (Hwy 50) in the Yorktown Shopping Center, along with Staples, Grevey's Restaurant and Sports Bar (filled with smoke), UPS Store, Elephant Jumps Thai Restaurant, and AT&T, to name a few. Both the store and Pharmacy are open 24 hours and there are self-checkout stations, but if you're using coupons, you will need an employee to process the coupons to finish the transaction. Besides the normal drugstore items, they have a small selection of beer, wine coolers, and wine. They also have a refrigerator and freezer section with sodas, teas, energy drinks, milk, cheese, snacks, TV dinners, and ice cream. The main store staff and Pharmacy staff have always been wonderfully helpful and friendly towards me, so I think this place is great. My only complaint is from a few years ago, when they had their shelving arranged with the chocolate and candy items directly under the air vents, so in the winter when they had the heat on, it blew heat directly on the chocolate and candy and it was all melted. I told them back then it was a bad idea to put those items there. Thank goodness they listened and rearranged the shelving and items. read more

I nearly had a breakdown in the middle of CVS yesterday. Imagine: girl in a backbrace from a car accident trying to get a prescription for a terrible cold/fever that has lasted for 4 days that she's finally gotten a prescription for a Zpak, some intense cough syrup and another prescription. and then imagine a solid 45 minutes in line to DROP OFF these prescriptions all because it was 1. long line for drop off because for some reason, it took them super long to register any drop offs and then when it was finally my turn, 2. the girl did not understand my insurance card was Carefirst, not BCBS. This girl was in the system tryign to type in my insurance and finally resorted to calling for help after not admitting she had no idea what she was doing, when if she had asked me, she would've figured it out within one second and then 3. finally told me that it was going to be 30 minutes for the wait. mind you, a nice asian technician had already apologized to me for the long wait and also.... mind you, i picked this CVS solely for the reason that it was near mosaic district and the gelato store. otherwise i woudl've picked the tysons one on route 7 which is constantly empty. fatty status, i'm in a back brace & sick ok don't judge. i come back a SOLID 45 mINUTES later (who can avoid target if ur at the mosaic district!) and i go up to pay, the dude couldn't spell my name properly and then comes back with only one prescription. i told them i had 3...turns out when the girl had to go ask for help for filling in my prescriptions earlier because she was truly incompetent and needs to be fired, she forgot to put in my other two...which included my zpak. i'm pretty sure no one wanted to see my face at that moment in time. i was in the middle of starting world war 3 or just breaking down in tears in the middle of CVS. and then of course the lady next to me getting her prescriptions chose to stsart a conversation with me about how lucky i was tha ti coudl take zpak adn taht she was allergic and that last week she got laid off and she didn't care adn went out and bough ta jeep anyways. the nice asian male technician runs over and apologized for the previous girl's mistake, but by then i wasn't talking to anyone adn could only just mumble words under my breathe because i was going to burst into tears in the middle of the pharmacy. they rushed the order and i got my prescriptions after 10 minutes and everyone kindly apologized, but i will never be coming back to this CVS pharmacy again. This is a busy pharmacy/CVS and there are SOME competent workers here, but i will say the one who helped fulfill my order was extremely incompetent ad shoudl not be working there. read more

Awful parking lot to turn into unless you're coming off of 50 from the west, and many angry cars to make a line to get out. Lots of signs in the store make everything easy to find. Dropped off my prescriptions and went to run a quick errand. The thirty minute estimated wait time was pretty timely, they were ready for pickup when I returned and the crowd had pretty much cleared out. I've never had a CVS take so long to enter each scrip, but for reliability and pickup speed I'll give them props. Also ran into an ex-coworker in the pickup line, which was pretty surreal. read more

Management take note! You need more staff!! Really you do. The current staff are all very nice and have great customer service skills but there aren't enough of them. Therefore the lines to pick up prescriptions or to purchase items is LONG. So long. I got tired of waiting in absurd lines to drop off and purchase my meds every month, plus the CIA interrogation from the pharmacist John every time I would get my monthly narcotic fill so I transferred my meds to Walgreen's where I have an almost perfect track record of getting them in 10 minutes or less and zero hassle about the Percocet. I just picked up my husband's prescription and I was the only person in line at 6 PM. Have I fallen through the rabbit hole? Even John smiled and was pleasant to me. This is weird, man. Be careful what you buy here! My Wife and Daughter stopped in here to get a couple of things, and one of those happens to be Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. My Daugther brings it home to eat, and she shown it to me that it didn't look right! My Wife takes a bite of it, and she past it off to me. I take a bite, and it had a bad taste in my mouth, plus the after taste was worse! Don't know how long the candy was there, but it wasn't like it should be! I don't know what happened to this CVS but lately it has gone down the drain so badly that it merit a Yelp review. I walked in like a baller' with $24 in Extra Bucks coupons ready to shop. Everything from nuts to body wash was mislabeled. I was looking at an Organix coconut body wash and it had a clearance sign for 25% off (without any expiration date posted) but on top of THAT there's a coupon that says it's buy 1 get 1 50% off as this week's sale. I rung it up at the register and of course it didn't come out as clearance. Then the nuts were allllll over the place... Completely mislabeled! I gave up trying to figure out which ones are seriously on sale. Really? CVS? You really need me to start on the tampons? Of all the aisles in the store, it's THIS one that has to be wrecked. Ladies: keep your eyes peeled. 18ct sale stickers were placed on 36ct boxes. Kotex U labels were stuck over Kotex Security labels. And it wasn't just one or two that was mislabeled. Alllllll of them were!!! Ended up spending 10 mins trying to figure out wtf price I'm suppose to pay. I'm just mad... And on a major rant at this point. On a side note... One of the clerks (male) kept on asking an African American lady if she needed help to a point where she said 'do you keep on asking me bc I'm Black? Do I look like I'm going to steal? Are you sure YOU can help me pick out my makeup?' 5 minutes later, she walked toward the opposite side of the store... The worker couldn't help me find my item but directed me to the pharmacy. Yes, their pharmacy is also open 24/7. This pharmacy is the WORST!! I have been picking up my meds for the past 11 months, same exact once. This will be the LAST TIME EVER coming to a CVS!! I have been LOYAL customer to another location CVS over 7 years and everything was fine until i moved and switched to this location. *They always have something wrong and they have to fix it for at least 30 MINUTES WAIT. *They never get all the meds at once simply because they don't check if it need pre-approval.. *They ask me 100 questions EVERY TIME just to confirm my info when there are people around me listening to all my personal info. * I updated my insurance info and physical address over 6 TIMES and it seems it never changes, i'm not sure how the hell is that possible!! Just moved to the area, and CVS is always my go to store for anything cosmetic or health-related. This store is kinda smaller than the other CVSes that I used to going to. Some of the more basic items are hard to find. Everything is marked so it is easy to find the general grouping of items. In terms of skin care, they did not carry one of my favorite brands: St. Ives. They do carry so of the more "designer" skin care like Vichy. They do have almost every single item in a CVS equivalent. Prices vary on items, so I would say it is moderately priced even those most items are under $10. One of the things I like about this CVS is the Express Self-Checkout. There are four or five kiosks. The location is conveniently located near the freeway and close to other services like a dry cleaner, deli, restaurant. The parking lot is big, but it is kinda dangerous pulling into off of Gallows because there is traffic merging left (always got side swiped about 30 min ago). There is a long line to get out. Open 24 hours and fairly large, this CVS is the best in a few mile radius from our apartment. Go here over the Nutley St. Location if you can. Buggies (carts for you Yankees) are in short supply but parking is super close to the front door, and they're rarely out of stock of anything. They also have self checkout machines which are a plus, but would be even better if I could actually put coupons in them without calling over a sales associate. The pharmacy staff here helped me resolve an issue with a DC location but then made the same error in giving the wrong size of the medication as the other place did. This CVS isn't in the best spot/area. It is a pain to get into the lot (during traffic they put cones up so you have to go only 1 way). Trying to get out, was a different story. It was impossible to get all the way to the right to take 50 so I ended up having to drive a mile to make a uturn. But for the store itself, agree with the previous reviewer. There was no one behind the counter. Yet there was someone assisting with the self check out. There was someone adament about going to the register, but the guy kept saying he would help her in the self check out. In the mean time, I was shopping for nail polish and I was trying the colors on my dark complexion, i could feel someone hovering over me. I guess it was the stock lady and I finally decided to ask her questions about the products so she would stop glaring at me. read more

Very large, well laid out CVS store. I had not been in this particular store previously but it was convenient so I stopped in. Everything I was looking for was well stocked and there was no line to check out. The gentleman who rang me up was very friendly and noted my Extra Bucks rewards and when I could use them.
