With a long drive ahead early the next morning and a one-year-old traveling with us, this immediately became a stressful situation. In South Orange County, most tire service locations close early. After being turned away by Costco, I made my way to Walmart, one of the only places still open. Although I did not have an appointment, I explained the urgency of my situation and how important it was for my family to be on the road by 6:00 AM the next morning. That's when I met Ruben. Around 7:00 PM, Ruben took the time to help me, patching my tire and ensuring my vehicle was safe for the trip. He went above and beyond what I would expect from any employee. He showed genuine care, urgency, and professionalism not because he had to, but because he wanted to help. I even offered him a gratuity, which he kindly declined. He simply helped because I was a father trying to take his family on an important trip. Because of Ruben, my family was able to make that drive safely and enjoy a truly special weekend celebrating my daughter's first birthday. It meant everything to us. Ruben is an outstanding individual and a true example of what great customer service looks like. Experiences like this are rare, and they are exactly why we continue to shop at Walmart. I waited in line at the pharmacy to ask if they had any behind the counter and this woman with blond hair was extremely rude. I didn't get her name but when I asked my question, her reply was "you have to get a doctor's notice for it." I calmly asked my question again emphasizing "covid test kits not the a covid test." She raises her voice a lot louder and says the same thing, as if I don't understand English. I left the store b/c it's not worth continuing talking to someone with extremely poor customer service and obviously is unhappy at her job. It's very disappointing CVS employs people like her in a pharmacy whose job is to help customers, behaves this way when customers are the reason they're in business in the first place. FYI, this CVS location is known to have poor customer service. There are tons of Googles review about it. The reason I went to this store is b/c it's close to my residence and thought it would be an easy transaction. This pharmacy gets no stars.

The latest, went there for a COVID test on a Friday at 5:00 PM. thought I was getting a Rapid, selected that as my option and foothill ranch came up in the results. 24 hours later, no results. Called and was told Foothill doesn't do rapid tests and they farm them out to a lab. It's now been 72 hours and Monday afternoon, still no results. Needed to know the results for work today and they are Absolutely worthless. Pharmacy knows nothing and will do nothing to help. They really don't care, just want either your's or your insurance $$$$.

Imagine no long lines, no unnecessary hassles, smiling faces and helpfulness. That's what going to Ralph's Pharmacy is like. A special shout-out to Tatiana!!!!!!! Unfortunately, nowadays I judge necessary places/businesses by how little or how much I hate dealing with them. Sad but true. For example: I need my cell phone provider and HATE dealing with them. I need my doctor but don't hate dealing with him. I need my health insurance but only hate dealing with them a little. I need my bank and only somewhat hate dealing with them. So much of it has to do with customer service and whether or not I feel valued as a human being with them. Do they care that I am no longer young, that I have some health issues, that I can't afford being ripped off, that my time and my life means something to me and to my family? I know my cell provider couldn't care less. I know FOR CERTAIN the pharmaceutical companies prefer I be sick and also want to screw me while I'm down. But I know that the staff at Ralph's Pharmacy are knowledgeable, caring, professional and that they care. I know they do because they go over & above what they have to to make things more effective and efficient. So thank you to them for making me NOT hate getting my prescriptions. Because while my health insurance company and pharma add stress to mine and so many other people's lives, I can at least see a smiling face at my pharmacy and know they really do try to help soften the blows.

That was two or so years ago and I haven't strayed since! Tony (the owner & pharmacist) has always had my prescriptions ready and available. ALWAYS. This says a lot considering I used to spend at least an hour trying to hunt down the right prescription! I'll call ahead of time to double check if I have any refills left, and all I have to say (I'm not kidding on this; I swear it on my football team which is what I hold most dear to me) is, "Hi Tony! It's Ally." He immediately knows what I'm referring to and informs he 9/10 he either has it ready or has faxed for a refill already. I know most people don't care much for that family-ran feel anymore, but to not only have what I need and also take the time to chat is great in my book. It's hard to find a business where you can find efficiency and customer service this impeccable!

I waited patiently…read morewhile the customer ahead of me was being served a process that took well over 15 minutes, causing a significant delay entirely outside of my control. At approximately 8:55 PM, a pharmacy staff member in a blue uniform approached me and informed me that the pharmacy was now closed and that I would need to return another time. I was given no opportunity to be served, despite the fact that: 1. I was physically present and in line BEFORE the closing time. 2. The excessive delay was caused by the transaction ahead of me -- not by any action on my part. 3. I was not warned at any point during my wait that I might not be served. 4. No reasonable effort was made to accommodate a customer who had been waiting in good faith. This is not simply an inconvenience depending on the nature of the prescription, a refusal to dispense medication to a patient already waiting in line can have serious health consequences. Turning away a customer who arrived before closing, due to a delay the customer had no part in creating, is both a failure of customer service and potentially contrary to your own service standards.

Twenty minutes later, the walk ups were prepared to be given their shots, but I was told to return after 3pm because they had to take their lunch. Wouldn't be such a big deal, but I do feel kinda jaded that walk ups were able to just "walk up" and get their shots while I have to come back two hours later. It would have been more courteous and professional if my time was respected a little more than the people that didn't make an appointment, because then what's the point of making an appointment? UPDATE: I had to wait in line again behind people that had 1:40pm appointments. Mind you, they scheduled appointments at 1:40pm while the pharmacy is closed from 1:15pm to 2:15pm. After waiting in line, they asked if I had an appointment. I told them my appointment was at 10:40, but they took five walk ups before asking me to come back. I suggested they identify people in line with appointments before serving walk ups. They said that was a good idea. I thought it should be common sense, but... Anyway, they did eventually finally take me in for my shot, albeit four hours after my original appointment, so I will upgrade the rating to a three star.
