CVS Haymarket pharmacy seems constantly staffed with unqualified and unmotivated staff that seems to constantly rotate and seem to move so slowly that it defies science (Except for one older gentleman who is wonderful)!! Today took the cake. 5pm rush hour. The register at the drive through was broken (again). Inside the line went through the aisles. How many people in the store rallied to help cut down on the delays - ONE. One register open out of 3 plus a drive through. If Caremark didn't have the leverage over us through my insurance - we would've quit on CVS years ago. Whomever / whichever area manager is in charge of this store is either incompetent or asleep at the switch. Metrics and frequent visits or customer satisfaction audits would easily show that this store is terrible - even for CVS. read more

CVS Haymarket, VA is among the poorest pharmacies because: 1. They short you medicines which means stealing is going on. 2. Accessing the Pharmacist to ask questions is very difficult. You have to leave a message and only when the Pharmacist calls back, you get to speak to them. 3. Accommodating customers to help them out is never a priority for this store. Customer service is just not a consideration or a priority. 4. The lines in the store when you go inside are always long. The management of this store are poor managers and so are the district and regional managers. I am stuck using CVS since I have insurance with Caremark. This is absolutely the WORST CVS in existence. Common prescriptions are nearly impossible to get within 3 days because they are consistently out of stock and have to place orders. The pharmacy workers are rude and unhelpful when asked to check if the prescription are available at other CVS locations. read more

To say the pharmacy is disorganized would be an insult to disorganization. Time and again we get texts confirming a refill is ready for pickup, only to arrive and be told 'ok we'll fill it, give us about 30 minutes.' I do no understand why anyone is sending out any confirmation if the prescription has not been touched. It is no different on original fills. We routinely call as we leave a provider to confirm receipt and that it's being worked. However, upon arrival we are greeted by the same song and dance that indicates whatever we were told on the phone was uninformed, dishonest, or both. If you have a nonstandard prescription make sure you bring a handbook because you'll be learning the process along with the staff. By itself, this wouldn't be awful, but to have to watch this debacle unfold after being told it would be ready hours earlier is frustrating. read more

The new CVS in Haymarket finally opened this past week! After months of speculation and posted "opening this Spring" signs - the drug store opens at the end of summer! Very convenient location for me - closer than going to Giant, Bloom, Harris Teeter - or the three drugstores in Gainesville: CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens. The store is physically situated at the crossroads of Route 55 (Washington Street) and U.S. 15. I bet they get a lot of business from people passing by on I-66! Nice new store, good layout, well lit and well-signed. Was easy to find what I needed. A little more training needed with the cashier staff - I patiently waited for the young lady who was the cashier to call her manager for help as she attempted to resolve an issue for the customer in line in front of me - although I think she should have called for help earlier. read more

we sat in the drive through for the pharmacy for roughly 15-20 minutes behind 2 other vehicles. It was 8:01 pm when we pulled up to the window and the worker closed the window gate as we were sitting there and replied with "we couldn't give it to you even if we wanted to because our systems stop working after 8"- yet keep in mind he was still with the car in front of us after 8. Every time I have a prescription sent over, I have to call them to make sure they have it filled because I NEVER receive a call or text stating it is even though they have verified that my number is on file. And the times when I waited at least 24 hours before picking up and I head to the pharmacy, they say to give them 10 minutes because it hasn't been filled. Pharmacist (Hallal who is some how the manager) could not find her keys. The ones she is to be in control of at all times. She was asking other staff to help her by saying 'where are my keys bastard'? When I said something about her language she said she wasn't talking to me and they were having fun since they had been there all day. I mentioned that as a nurse I too work long hours but the language is offensive. She said but I work five days a week. I do as well but did not argue the point. I asked for the manager. She said it is her and if didn't like it to talk to the store manager. She was unable to help me find my item, was unwilling to come from behind the register, and was just vulgar, unprofessional, immature, and rude. Left without purchasing anything after talking to Kai the young manager on duty who said he would mention the domination to the store manager. He tried but I can only imagine being younger than she and trying to talk to her. I called corporate office as well. Wasn't too interested in my comments and when I asked for a call from the higher up manager, I was told there is no obligation to call customers. Just wow! I will not go back. read more

I went to this CVS on Saturday, 8 July 2023, to pick up a prescription from the pharmacy. The posted hours indicated they open at 9 AM. I got there at 9:10 and the pharmacy is closed. I'm told by the cashier in front of the store that someone is on their way to open up. 35 minutes later they arrive. By this time numerous people are waiting for their prescriptions and many more have come and gone, not wanting to wait. I finally get my prescription but no apology from the pharmacist for the inconvenience. To make matters worse, I had to drive two hours to get there that morning because I had been out of town for personal business. After picking up my prescription, I had to drive the two hours back. Customer service is dead these days and businesses don't care about their customers. read more

Last night they told me to come back because they needed more time to do the prescription (which was very important and time sensitive) then when I came back they were closed. It would have been nice if he had told me they were about to close. I came back in the am when they opened and only one of the prescriptions was filled so I was told I had to come back AGAIN. I received a message telling me my prescriptions were ready. I came back to get the prescriptions and was told they were closed for lunch. Are you kidding me!!??!! They are extremely short staffed at all times and cannot keep up with the volume of customers at this location. It's the worst customer service of any pharmacy I have ever been to. 18 hours later cvs told me three prescriptions were ready by text. Drove there and the window was open THIS TIME. Told me another 15 minutes. Really after 18 hours? Told me to get out of line and return! I refused and one pharmacist shouted out the window that they would not fill my prescriptions! Then some other pharmacist told me she would call the police. I sat there. 20 minutes later a policeman came. Still no prescription. I finally agreed to move and the officer went inside to see when my prescription would be ready. He came out and motioned me back in line. They still did not have it ready!!' I informed the officer right as he was driving away that once again they lied! Then they started shouting at me and the officer that my doctor was to blame! I left. These prescripts were sent electronically. Contacted my dr and they apologized and said they had a lot of patients complain about cvs! They sent the orescripts to another pharmacy and they were ready in one hour. It's clean and organized. There is ample parking, and incredibly convenient location wise. When you get off at exit 40 from rt 66, turn left and it's on the left corner. I do wish that this CVS had self checkout though. It seems that no one is ever actively manning the front register, and you have to wait a little before someone in the photo section or stocking something realizes I'm waiting to pay. read more

This guy named Narinder was the cashier at the front and was very rude to me when i exchanged a product for a bigger one . I ended up returning it for that same reason and took my business to the pharmacy across the street where they know how to respect customers. My wife had several bad experiences with the front staff at this location and now i see why she decided to never go back here . This CVS never fills my prescription on time. Over the past 2 weeks, I have called them 4 times to fill my prescription. It is still not filled. This can be incredibly dangerous for individuals who rely on their prescriptions for serious conditions. Luckily my prescription is not life threatening, however my body will have to adjust all over again and it is very inconvenient. I cant imagine the inconvenience and possible dangerous outcomes this CVS is causing. read more

In my opinion, older customers would be better served by going elsewhere. First, the drive through window has been closed for weeks. Anyone with a mobility problem is hurt by this thoughtless closure because such a person must find parking and then walk all the way to the back of the store to pickup a prescription. Second, there are no battery powered mobility carts for older handicapped customers. Third, you cannot get past the automated telephone service to talk to a pharmacist. Fourth, getting a prescription filled, even on a priority or urgent basis at the request of a treating physician is impossible. in short, the customer service, in my opinion, is very poor and getting worse. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. They don't answer their phone, the drive through is consistently closed. They were supposed to call my wife with medicine information and of course they didn't. Escalated 3 times to corporate and absolutely no action. Scheduled a Covid Booster there (Moderna) and when we got there they said "oh we don't have Moderna - call the Gainseville store to schedule. I asked them to call and they said the other store would hang up on them. I called them and they laughed and hung up on me Finally transferred all of our prescriptions to Harris Teeter. CVS web site confirms prescriptions transferred out of store. Needless to say Harris Teeter does not have them. CVS said they would call them and then call me back - naturally they haven't called. If you value your health RUN from this pharmacy - they are dangerous and simply do not care. I am escalating to corporate 1 more time (and the last time) - of course I have now been on hold for over 25 minutes. read more

This CVS is just okay in my book. I've been here several times and so far I'm not that impressed. The location is not the best. It's right near a busy intersection and the traffic can result in the entrance being blocked. My couple of experiences with the pharmacy have also not been so great. They're not very friendly and it takes forever to get a prescription. I've learned that I'm better off going to another pharmacy that isn't busy and can show me some respect. The staff here is not so helpful either. Whenever I've needed assistance they act like I'm bothering them. Then they just point and tell me it's here or there without any specific instructions like an isle number. I've learned that I only come here if it's absolutely necessary, which is not often thanks to the fact that there are plenty of other options in the area. read more

Our insurance recently switched to CVS, forcing us to use cvs pharmacies. We've had issues at this location with medicines not being ready despite calls that they are or quantities not being available. I once spent 35 minutes and the counter while they attempted to find a drug at another location (AFTER the call telling me my meds were ready) only to have someone stumble across it on a shelf in the back. Today's experience takes the cake though! Picked up amoxicillin (how common is THAT one?!?!) for child's strep throats only to arrive home to find unmixed powder in my bag. After they graciously told me that I could drive back (with 2 sick kids under 5) to have it mixed the pharmacist then shamed me for not having distilled water on hand so that I could mix I myself. UNACCEPTABLE!! Never returning to this location. I'd rather pay more elsewhere! read more

Not only was the manager exceedingly rude to me, but he was also ignoring guidelines on covid. Today he stood two feet in front of me, arms folded like a bully, berating me for complaining about one of his employees who brushed past me without a mask at the entrance. The manager would not step back, despite my repeated requests. He said that he was six feet away if he "said it was six feet." It was one of the most discourteous and dangerous encounters I have experienced. I am elderly and always seek safe encounters when leaving my home. Upper management: please take notice and discipline this unruly manager. read more
