I kid you not- I had not been sick whatsoever in two straight years. However, the streak ended one fateful Friday (March 3rd). I got up around 9 A.M. and headed for the Minute Clinic. The kiosk to sign in was a bit difficult to deal with (I believe the focus shifted to unanticipated parts of the screen). It also could have been because I am not a frequent user. After finishing with that, I sat down. Less than a minute later the nurse practioner came out and greeted me. Through my exam she was personable and kind- I found out she did not have a home store (which explained things she needed for my particular visit were not found easily). At one point she had to go to the other Minute Clinic room. When she did so, she left the door open. I did not care too much, but it would be best practice to shut it. Shortly after returning, she concluded that I had strep. I was provided a sheet that listed the medicines I could take to help with the symptoms. I walked out and headed for the consultation window. The pharmacist (Craig) and intern (Charles) not only helped me find the section for the products that I needed from the visit, but suggested products they knew would help. They saved me MAJORLY on TIME and MONEY. I proceeded to the pharmacy registers for a prescription unrelated to the visit. A new (to me), friendly technician soon met me there. Not only was I helped there, but was greeted from afar by a technician (Jordan). From my time here at this pharmacy, she seems to be really good with names and does well with having patients feel like they matter when she works with them. Even though I have worked at this pharmacy consistently (for 6+ years), until recently, I can still write a positive review about them. They do not have to be genuinely nice to me solely because I have worked with them. And I'll explain- When I worked, I focused on patients and getting most of the work done that I could in between rushes. Due to this there was little time to socialize (I only hung out with two co-workers regularly outside of work and they left way before March 3). Sunday I went to get my kids medication 10 minutes before the pharmacy closed but they refused to help me because they already closed down their drawers. Will be in search of a new pharmacy immediately. read more

Tried to pick up my prescription but they didn't have it ready. I asked if they could have it ready in 2 days (the next time I'd be able to pick it up) and the lady told me I'd have to call because they were getting ready to close. I hate calling the computerized system so... No problem, I'll call my doctor to change my prescriptions to be filled by the mail scripts program my work uses. I tried to give you my business but if your workforce is too lazy to hit a button on a computer I'll take my business elsewhere. Oh and I've been going to cvs for over 15 years. I actually picked up a prescription yesterday but when I got home I opened the sack and found out I couldn't open the bottle for the liquid medication. So I thought no problem I'll stop by tomorrow when I'm out and have the pharmacy fix it. I walked in this morning and a young lady came up to the counter and asked if she could help me. I explained the problem she showed me how to open the bottle and then promptly closed it back up and gave it back to me. I held up my 2 arthritic hands and said "I can't open this bottle". A voice from the back asked the girl helping me to bring the bottle back to her. She transferred the medicine to a new bottle that I can open and returned the bottle cap from the first medication which also provides the dose. There are several lessons to be learned here: 1) as a consumer I was proud of myself for taking the product back so the store could see the problem and have the opportunity to fix it. 2) as a customer service employee listen and take time to understand the situation before you assume you know the solution. read more

The two Minute clinic nurse practitioners that were there wed, sept 7, 2022, were NOTHING short of fabulous!!!! I will always go to this location! They went above and beyond what health care providers should be required to deal with.... They were wonderful and deserve a raise!!!!! read more

Good customer service at the pharmacy. They know their stuff. Especially when it comes to coupons for medications. And they are fast. They keep the pharmacy well staffed which makes a difference. The only thing I would suggest is more seating. There is currently only three seats for waiting available. read more

Went 20 minutes before closing for my insulin. Knew that I would be paying out of pocket since I was traveling and forgot medication and it was to soon before insurance would cover. Took staff 10 minutes to a knowledgeable my presence) there was no other customers. Was asked if I had a coupon and found a coupon that it would cost me $40 to pay for the script and was told "it was to close to closing and would not process it/honor it." So instead charged by $330 for the script (instead of the $40 the coupon would cost me). They didn't even offer a consult with a pharmacist (which pretty sure is required by law). If this wasn't insulin and literally a medication that would put me in the hospital without it, I would have gone to a different pharmacy. It just shows that this pharmacy staff lacks empathy, compassion, and sacrifice 10 mins of their time to save a patient hundreds of dollars. They really do not care about patients and lack of patient care. Very disappointed. read more

Ekk! This CVS was very disappointing, went in for some cold medicine and to get to the cold and flu medicine you have to go all the way to the back of the store (which I get they want to draw customers all the way through the store) but annoying if you are trying to be quick and don't feel good. Then went to grab a drink to take the pills I got and the beverage selection was not stocked and had empty slots every where. Then the women (has a manager name tag on) checking us out was getting into with a customer then we we went to pay she didn't say one word to us and then as I swiped my card she got on the phone...I think she was distracted by the other angry customer but it was a very awkward experience. I showed up 5 minutes late to my minute clinic appointment and spent 5 more minutes trying to log in through the kiosk. I could see my name on the wait list and my last name was spelled incorrectly. It wouldn't let me check in so i stepped aside to ask the practitioner for help. Her exact words were, "you are very late for your appointment. you've wasted half of it already." and she walked away. I work in customer service and I would be hard pressed to think of a worse example of care. In the end it's probably for the best. If you want to receive the wrong medication from a pharmacy, then go to CVS at 5440 NW 64th Street, KCMO 64151. They'll give you the wrong medicine then refuse to give you a refund for it. They also, on three separate occasions gave me the medication that belonged to different individuals, thereby, breaching their confidentiality protocols. When I took the medicine back I had to debate about getting refunds for those screw ups. But I'm posting this information now because the last time they gave me the wrong medicine I told them that it made me sick and they basically said so what, go to a different pharmacy. I would give them a negative score. They are so far below one star it's amazing. read more

CVS Pharmacy on NW 64th St is terrible, can't get decent help, drive through you wait for 45 minutes with 2 cars in front of you, wrong prescription brand given and they get mad if you want to double check it. I needed a Precription Report of one medication I have to take to review with my Dr tomorrow and I started trying to get it over a week ago and each time they would say they need to go back and redo it to get it right and to come back with my ID to get it. Now they refuse to run the report and give it to me. By Law they have to provide me any information I want on medications I get filled there but Sean the Pharmacy Manager refused to provide me the information after they said initially they would provide . Now I have to go to a Doctor appointment and pay for a visit where I don't have the information to review. Enough is enough, going to transfer to HyVee Pharmacy and get away from poor and lazy management that doesn't care or give a damn about customer service. read more

The nearest CVS to my home with a Minute Clinic, this location has stepped up and saved the day for me on a number of occasions. For you see, it seems I only get sick on the weekends, when I can't get into my regular doctor. It's a bit of a crap shoot how long you will wait, but once you get in, the level of service you receive at the Minute Clinic is top notch. A special shout-out to Sarah, the nurse practitioner who most recently confirmed that yes, my body is riddled with viruses and I need to go home, take drugs and eat soup. She has a great personality, is prompt and I just like her. If for some reason I didn't have a regular Dr, I'd try and see Sarah. It's also extra convenient to go to the doctor IN your pharmacy. I had my drugs in like 15 minutes, and was on my way home. Everybody I dealt with was friendly, and we found all of the stuff we needed at fairly reasonable prices. In a lot of ways a CVS is a CVS is a CVS, influenced only by the neighborhood. I was happy with my experience here and on the occasion that I need to go back, I will! read more

They never have stock of pills. Told me to come back Monday when their supply came in. Went back and told me to come back Wednesday. Told me my prior auth expired in the time they were waiting on the supply to come in. Two weeks later finally get a new PA done with insurance and they tell me to come at 2 pm. Came at 6 pm and still hadn't filled it. Staff are rude and unhelpful. Went two weeks without meds because they are so incompetent. read more

I am a healthcare provider and I know how frustrating it can be dealing with insurance as well as patients. However, I have never had more consistently disappointing experiences with a pharmacy than I have with this CVS. I consider myself a patient person, but this place definitely puts it to the test. Just about everyone I encountered seemed incompetent and rude. A girl behind the counter even had the audacity to point and tell me to "go over there" without even looking up from her computer. The practitioner at this location, Jada, was so kind, thorough, and helpful. She greeted me with a warm smile, listened to my concerns, and I felt at ease during my quick appointment. She answered other questions I had not directly related to why I was visiting that day, and came out to the medication isle to help me find the medicine she recommended. Location is great for me but the pharmacy anti customer service team will make me switch my pharmacy. Young lady today was about as unfriendly as can be and should be fired for her horrible service and attitude. She was working the drive thru and was not helpful or concerned for me the customer. A prescription was missing and she was rude when i asked about it. After paying for 2 she never said thing and I just drove off guessing we were thru. This is one of the worst experience I had ever came across with this CVS I got discriminated against because of the type of medicine did I use Craig CVS Pharmacy manager didn't want to fill my prescription that my doctor wrote me everything was fully a hundred percent legit. Because he didn't feel like the script wasn't legit. they field the other script that I turned in with it but didn't want to feel. The other one and it wasn't not because they didn't have the product in because he just plain not want to I will go to other places before I go to CVS again I never been treated like that because now I have to go all week without my medication. I HATE going to this CVS. The cashier Tesla is condescending and anytime I have a coupon that I believe should be honored, she just flat out tells me nope. Doesn't qualify. She doesn't help me find an alternative product that would qualify or explain why it doesn't work. I have had problems with her multiple times and will no longer be shopping here because of her. The website for CVS shows this locations Minute Clinic does DOT Physicals. So I go there. I sign in and check the box for DOT physical. It says it's an hour and 41 minute wait. So I check the box for a 30 minute notice via text. I went back in an hour and sat and waited. With 18 minutes left to my turn, the female staff came out and said they don't do DOT physicals. She then told me she saw that I signed up for that service right when I checked in. I asked why she didn't contact me and why I also didn't even receive the 30 min reminder even though I was already sitting there. She said she purposely didn't send the reminder because they couldn't do my physical and that she just didn't have time to call or send me a message. REALLY? I'm pretty sure I don't have time for this location or CVS. HELLO WALGREENS effective IMMEDIATELY. read more

Their minute clinic is terrible. Without even examining my daughter, just asking questions and typing her responses into their computer the nurse determined that my daughter could have a corneal scratch and they couldn't help her. Essentially we wasted an hour between the waiting and the nonexistant exam. I mean what is more likely for a 9yo, a corneal scratch when there is no history of injury, or pink eye? We went across the street to the CareSpot and they quickly diagnosed pink eye and prescribed the eye drops to clear it up. Within a day my daughter's eye looked lots better and she felt better. Save yourself time and skip CVS minute clinic, they probably won't be able to help you anyway. read more

By far the worst minute clinic ever. Unprofessional Nurse Practioner on weekends. My husband and I both got immunization for whooping cough. The nurse who did the injections was so rude and unknowlegable. She had no clue how to properly give an injection. I've had shots before and they were given quickly and practically painless. This nurse took well over 10 minutes for my shot and my husbands , making it hurt so much worse than other injections that have been done quickly. We were both extremely sore and sick for weeks, when all we should have experienced is mild soreness at the injection site. Several months later we took our daughter to this location, not knowing that the same person would be there . I was willing to give her another chance . Our daughter was very sick and the nurse was unprofessional and rude.We left Without being seen. Went to a Walgreens take care clinic soooooo much better. Professional, caring ,compassionate and efficient at Walgreens. Much better experience all around from nurse to phamasists. I won't go back to this cvs or any for that matter. I'd give it no stars if I could. My advice is if you want quality professional service go somewhere else, like Walgreens take care clinics! read more

If I could give this place zero stars that would have been my selection. On Jan. 30 2018 I dropped of my regular prescription and planned to return to pick up upon receiving the text it was ready. During the wait I discovered my direct deposit had not yet hit my account. I called the pharmacy and explained to the woman that answered the phone that I was currently experiencing a slight funds crunch due to my delayed direct deposit and politely asked if it would be possible to pick up a partial amount of my intended supply until the following day when I would have my entire paycheck. I explained I had $4 in my pocket and that was ALL the money I had tonight and had been told my prescription would be $23 to pick up. I went on to explain that I suffer SEVERE anxiety which causes me panick attacks. I take my medication 3 Times daily to control this condition and that I had run out this morning so it was imperative I have atleast 1 pill tonight. She said I had to speak to the pharmacist transferred me to the on duty pharmacist that night Shawn Hawkins. Shawn made me repeat my prior conversation. I obliged and was meet with the obvious tone of annoyance. He said 10 pills would be $10 to which I expressed my slight non understanding of the price breakdown of $10 for 10 pills when the entire script of 90 pills were $23 ( I am a self pay no insurance customer ) and then reiterated I only had for $4 tonight so what would 1 pill be? This time I was met with the statement that he really didn't know what 1 pill would be in the same annoyed tone and no was expressing his readiness for the convo to be over by no offer look up the info for me . I kindly asked if he could possibly find out and once again informed him of my condition and that I simply just needed one pill tonight to keep things under control. With out skipping a beat , placing me on hold, or even giving the pretend pause of acting to inquire even he fired back one pill if $7.67! So on top of presuming I was an idiot this man made it clear he was not going to extend simple human decency either and leave me in a predicament and clearly aiding in what was now a quickly elevating strsssfull situation for myself. I had began to develope delayed speech at this point in the conversation, and a most apparent studder on my words and was anxiously trying to plead with Mr. Hawkins that my situation was not good and I needed any assistance he could give. My now very apparent symptoms should have spoken the severity to any trained pharmacist had his attention been on helping me, and been clear to him I was now clearly showing signs of stress. I asked if I could transfer the script to another Cvs that would help me, please note this simple statement took me 4 tries and nearly 2 minutes to vocalize with my now VERY my delayed, studdered speech. He replied no they don't do that. I knew that to be untrue but knew my time was short until I was going to be in the middle of a full panic attack. I said I would like my paper script back to take to another pharmacy. He agreed and slowed to me to retrieve it . After acquiring my script back from CVS, I was forced to pull over approximately 4 minutes after leaving. I was in rough shape and hyperventilating. Another motorist saw that I appeared in need of assistance and quickly called an ambulance for me after approaching my car and seeing I was struggling to breath and now totally unable to speak. I have no insurance as I stated above and now have the added expense of ambulance ride and ER visit I can't pay for. Was all of this really necessary ? Could I have just been allowed 1 pill for my $4 that would have prevented this? This dipicbale and I will never ever patronize the 64th st CVS again . My hope is that someone in charge will see this and take appropriate action and Mr. Hawkins will be disciplined for such obvious lacking of customer service but additionally simple human kindness. I also hope that anyone with a condition requiring prescription medication to control gets the opportunity to decide if they are comfortable with this level of service if ever placed in similar situation . I wish I had known CVS deems this acceptable service. I would have taken my business elsewhere a long time ago. 1 pill for $4 to a returning customer with prior fills on medication should have been a no brainer. read more

My daughter visited the CVS Minute Clinic at 5314 NW 64th Street KC, MO on August 17, 2017. She was seen by Justin Haalberstad, NP. She had a severe earache, neck pain, and hearing loss. Justin diagnosed her with an infection in the ear canal and gave her a prescription antibiotic ear drops. I went to CVS later that day to discuss her condition with Justin. I went to the pharmacy and was told to wait outside the exam room and Justin would answer my question upon finishing with a patient. I waited about 15 minutes when a woman walked up and signed in. When Justin opened the door after finishing with his patient I told him my daughter is in excruciating pain and I was wondering why he didn't give her oral antibiotics. I called my daughter who was home so she could give Justin permission to speak with me regarding her previous visit. He became very rude and insulted me because I hadn't signed in. I didn't sign in because it asked for my insurance information and I wasn't there for myself. Then the woman waiting chimed in saying since I didn't sign in she was next. After being extremely rude, Justin told me that my daughters ear ache did not warrant oral antibiotics because it was only her ear canal that was infected. When I told him she is excruciating pain therefore it must be her inner ear he dismissed me. The next morning I took my daughter to Kansas University Medical Center and was told she had a terrible inner ear infection and her ear drum had ruptured. They told me to throw away the ear drops she had been given at CVS and they gave her oral antibiotics and a new ear drop prescription that was safe for a ruptured ear drum. Now my daughter has permanent hearing loss. I blame Justin Haalberstad at CVS Minute Clinic for my daughters permanent hearing loss! read more
