There is absolutely no reason to be put on hold for more than an hour. I use the app because going to the location involves rude staff, long waits and sometimes the wrong refill. So that being said I had to reach out to them just so I could update my insurance information. CVS why can't we update our insurance information online? The pharmacy is kept clean and they have good service. I stopped at the candy section to buy a few sweets for my wife Diana. Then I stopped were they sell cookies and also bought some for myself. Nelda needs to learn that part of her job is customer service - not just putting pills in bottles. She totally screwed up a prescription for my dog - entered it under the wrong name - and then sent me to another location to pick it up because she didn't put in the order for it. Now when I tried to refill it, she tried to send me elsewhere again instead of offering to reorder. When I asked her to reorder, she acted like it was a huge inconvenience. I also need a vacation override and she was completely unhelpful. She also told my prescription insurer that she was too busy to talk with them about it. Really CVS? Is there such a shortage of pharmacists that you make your customers deal with someone like this? I'll be using a different prescription insurance company and will make sure it's one that allows me to go to a pharmacy other than CVS to fill my prescriptions. The rest of the staff - and the other pharmacist - a woman whose name I have never gotten but it so helpful and ended up fixing Nelda's mistakes- are great. But Nelda? I went to the doctor today because, fever, cough, all the gross aspects of a cold that indicate it has morphed into much worse than a cold. Yup. Fever 101. Low O2 level (oxygen) body fluids of the rainbow. Gnarly cough. I'm given three prescriptions and a diagnosis of "You are officially sick. Get your meds then go home to bed. Come back for a recheck on Friday. So I go to the only CVS I've found in my area where it takes them less than two hours to fill a prescription. Sadly, they are out of the prescription cough syrup I was prescribed but they found a nearby CVS that had some. Which was very nice of them. Anyway from the get go the pharmacy attitude was entirely different to the kind people at my Lake Forest CVS on Ridge Route and Muirlands. They are awesome BTW and this review is NOT about them. No. I was sent to the CVSPharmacy on Lake Forest Dr and Trabuco Rd. Typical impersonal CVS attitude. I was kept standing at the counter for over 20 minutes while he very slowly processed my info. At this point I'll be honest. I looked sick. I look like death warmed over, can't stop coughing and blowing my nose and the only thing keeping me off the floor is the counter that I am clinging to for dear life. When he eventually entered all the needed info he asked me when I'd like to pick it up. Well he asked so I told him the sooner the better. I have a fever, cough and probably pneumonia and I just want to go home and sleep. Well that was a hard NO! "It will be AT LEAST an hour and a half!" "I have all these other people waiting and we can't start yours until these are all done!" For the record, I only saw one person waiting but I am aware that others may have left and are coming back. So I tried to be nice because I work in Heatlhcare too and I get it. I tried to appeal to his sense of, IDK, customer service? Compassion? Pity? So I told him, Look, I know you are busy. I get it. But it's not like I traipse in here every week demanding the diet meds prescribed by my plastic surgeon in 10 minutes or less. I'm genuinely really sick and miserable. I'm running a high fever and I'm having trouble breathing. One of these prescriptions is for an inhaler. Breathing is important to me!Couldn't you at least ask the pharmacist if they could expedite it a bit. Just this once? Nope. Hour and a half. In the end I only waited about 40ish minutes but I was delirious so its hard to be sure. There was another nice kid at the register that eventually either took pity on me or got sick of my coughing, blowing my nose and crying and after he heard me on the phone to my daughter calling them a bunch of clowns asked my name and somehow got it ready for me. Thanks nice Pharmacy Tech Kid! I wasn't calling all of you clowns. Just the rude guy who could only say 1 1/2 hours or no. I understand waiting your turn but if you are as sick as I am today, a little compassion goes a long way. I never ask for special favors. I'm not demanding. But I needed a little help today and it was hard to find at CVS. Also in looking at other Yelp reviews for CVS I've noticed that management never replies or tries to rectify any situations or disputes with dissatisfied customers. What a shame. IMHO, Yelp is an excellent resource for businesses to improve and stay competitive. In the Information Age if you don't use these free tools available to you, someone will come up with the service people are looking for and businesses that ignore what the customer of today wants now will be in liquidation by next year. The screw-up of all screw-ups happened yesterday when my patient underwent surgery. The surgeon wrote the Rx incorrectly, because he didn't check to see that the patient's insurance will only pay for a 7 day supply of narcotic pain medication at one time. When I got to the counter, the tech said the insurance wouldn't cover the meds because of the quantity (which was 40). So, I called the insurance company, got clarification, and called back to tell him: So, reduce the quantity to 28 (seven days times 4 doses per day), so that the insurance will pay for it. The tech was horrified, and tried to argue that they could sell the 40 quantity for cash instead of having it covered by insurance. I explained: No, this is a Medicaid patient. The whole point of having Medicaid is so the patient doesn't have to pay cash. Reduce the quantity and fill it now, because it is MORE important that the patient have pain relief than it is that the patient get the increased quantity. If patient needs MORE, then I (the case manager) will get the surgeon to write another Rx. When I get to the counter, Angie snottily remarked, "You'll have to call the doctor to get another prescription if the patient needs more of those." To which I replied, "DO NOT repeat my own instructions back at me like it was YOUR idea to reduce the quantity. YOU were prepared to leave the patient suffering in pain for HOURS because YOU wanted to charge an indigent patient in CASH instead of using your common sense and reducing the quantity." When she tried to argue with me, I just held up my hand and said, "Stop this ridiculous nonsense right now. I will never use this pharmacy again, because you're behaving like a bitch." To which Angie replied, "Well, so are you." We'll see how long Angie lasts after I finish my letter to CVS corporate. read more

I always come here because it's next to my job. I like to buy the things I need. I never had a problem with costumer services until this morning. I paid for my things on the self check out register. However, the register that I was on ran out of bags. So I went to the next one and that's when the senior lady that was in the register came in and touched my water bottle. MY PERSONAL BELONGINGS. She said "you don't put things here unless you already scanned". I told her that I already paid for my stuff and I showed her the receipt. I told her that I just came to this self checkout station to bag my things. Since the other one didn't have any bags. AND SHE WATCHED ME BAG MY THINGS AS IF I WAS STEALING. instead of going to go help the other lady. I kept telling her that I wasn't stealing. I've done this before. Going to another register to get a bag because they always run out. And no one has ever touched my personal belongings or watched me bag my stuff. Sure they watched me from afar but never so close to me. She was right next to me. I felt uncomfortable. I don't mind that employees watch me bag my things. I have to say, this pharmacy is struggling. I'm giving them 1 star because of their customer service. Sadly, the majority of the time, they aren't exactly rude but they have very little customer service skills. I've had times when they tell me something will be ready at X time and it's still an hour behind. I've had my providers call in prescriptions and it takes almost a day to fill. Then when I call to check and see if it's ready before driving down, it's more than a 30 minute wait on the phone so I eventually just drive down just to be told it's STILL not ready and have to wait anyway. Then of course I'm greeted by the flat affect and zero empathy. Not worth it. I'll be taking my prescription needs elsewhere. The pharmacist answered my call quickly, which the other store referenced NEVER does. Confirmed they had what I needed. Filled my order when I got there expeditiously and with a smile. Called the pharmacist later to ask a question. She answered and helped me even tho her store didn't fill the script in question. I have been coming to this location for about 7 years now. Manar, Phillips, Adam, Adrian, Brian and all the rest of the pharmacy staff are all very sweet and very efficient. The corporate changes to the store, the pharmacy department area, their computers, their phone lines, it's all totally different now. That has impacted the speed and ease with which we currently receive our prescriptions. This change is not the fault of the employees. They are negatively affected by it too. They are always so nice though. Even when I go in there just to shop in the store, Manar (one of the pharmacists) will always say hello to me by name and greet my kids and husband. That's how the pharmacy team there really acts. My family appreciates it. read more

Yay, I also love this place beacuse I get a couple of my meds filled here that I take on a monthly basis, and they automatically refill them at the same time every month so I don't have to call to refill. LOVE IT!!! Staff is always friendly to me and I'm usually in and out in 10 minutes or less (even if there's a line). As for the rest of the store...it's a pharmacy...so you can find all your basic stuff from some food items, alcohol, water, personal products, etc. I love this pharmacy!!! read more

Really really wish that I could take back ever going to this pharmacy. I called in ahead to confirm they accepted my insurance carrier - the girl said yes. I had my doctor's office call in the prescription and waited the obligatory hour or two before heading there to pick it up. When I arrived the first time, there was one older man in line ahead of me who was arguing with the guy at the pharmacy desk... apparently they were charging him $27 for some type of pill that he's never had to take before and had not discussed with this doctor. He finally left with his other prescriptions after the clerk said "you don't have to take it, just call your doctor"! Who the heck is this little clerk to tell the guy he doesn't have to take his meds?! So, I give the clerk my name and as it turns out they haven't yet filled the prescription... not a huge deal, he said it would be 10mins er so. When it comes time to pay, they keep insisting that they're having trouble with my insurance card - funny, because the doctor had no problem and neither did the lab that ran my blood work! I left after another 15mins er so of excuses and blathering that I needed call my insurance provider. I did check in with my insurance provider who confirmed for me that there was no issue. So the next day, I went back and there were 3 people in line ahead of me - each and every one with some kind of problem or argument. Literally! It took 20mins until it was my turn, and then they refused my insurance again for the same reason - I finally paid cash for it and left. I'm going to talk to my doctor about changing pharmacies. I completely understand why this location has two stars (shouldn't have any really) i have come here twice to fill my prescription and both times they have royally fucked up my prescription (my mental health medication no matter) causing me to go days without my meds and further more the head pharmacist is rude, gave me attitude, rolled his eyes and treated me like an idiot when i asked him to repeat himself because i couldn't understand his accent when i spent 45 mins trying to get my two medications, one they claimed they didn't have the prescription for even though they later tried to fill it, and one they didn't even have in stock and refused to let me transfer to another cvs. this is the worst cvs i have ever been to and i highly recommend to never ever have your prescription sent here unless you just don't want to receive your meds period. um so to that pharmacist suck a dick and i will never be returning. read more

NOW A CVS! This gets one star just because its there, but honestly if I could give a minus - 20 stars this pharmacy would get it. It has the most HORRIBLE SERVICE I have ever witnessed at a pharmacy. All of the pharmacists are rude, extremely arrogant and act is if they are doing you a favor. They also have a lot of young trainees who take about 20 minutes to type in your prescription into their system. I would recommend Walgreens on Muirlands/Ridge Route in Lake Forest, or go the nearest Target. Target surprisingly is much cheaper and they seem to have the nicest Pharmacists who seem to want your business. read more

I'm currently on limited mobility and can't sit or stand or walk for longer than 1-2 minutes without excruciating pain. Because of this, I was instructed last week by the pharmacy tech to call prior to picking up my prescription, to ensure I would not have to sit or stand in excruciating pain. The pharmacy opened at 10:00am on 11/3, and I called at 10:03am. Because the automated system doesn't do refills for my specific medication, I have to speak to a pharmacist each time. I proceeded to remain on hold for 40 minutes. After 20 minutes, my daughter called also, just to see if one of us could get through. She and I gave up once I hit 40 minutes, so we drove to the store while I remained on hold just to see if they were ever going to pick up. There were only 3 people in line when we got there. I watched the pharmacist Frank and other techs call them up while continuing to ignore the phones. I stood in line, in tears from the pain. When I got up to the front, I explained to Frank that I had been specifically instructed to call ahead so that I wouldn't have to wait more than a couple of minutes, but that I was left on hold nearly an hour without anyone picking up even momentarily to say something like "we're still here, thanks for waiting". Frank literally laughed at me (seriously, who laughs at a woman crying in pain??), and said they "didn't have time to pick up the phone". I replied that he definitely DID have the time to pick up for 10-15 seconds at least once or twice during that hour, and they it was unacceptable to completely ignore the calls. He laughed in my tearful face again, admitted he had 3 calls waiting on hold, and walked away- still never picking up the phone for any of the people on hold that he was blatantly ignoring. The pharmacy tech (NOT Frank) told me I'd just have to wait a little longer and apologized. At least he said he was sorry and wasn't cruel and inhumane like Frank. I sat in the corner and cried from the pain and stress while I waited. I just cannot believe the head pharmacist would literally laugh at me while I was crying. Someone he's supposed to be helping, but is instead ignoring completely. He shouldn't be allowed to speak to people that way, let alone allowed to ignore phone calls for up to an hour. I've already made a corporate complaint, but wanted to share my experience for others, to hopefully prevent someone else from experiencing the same kind of pain and embarrassment Frank just caused me. read more

Arrived here just after 5 pm to fill a prescription and was out within about 10 minutes. There was one person in line so they opened another counter for me and after getting my info, let me know it would be about 15 minutes and the prescription would be ready for pick up. About 5 minutes later (not even enough time to wonder around the store) they alerted me over the loud speaker, and via text message my prescription was ready. I paid for the scrip and some NyQuil then was on my way. Not sure what all the negative reviews are about; my experience here was pleasant and I will definitely be returning for future refills. read more

Absolute garbage pharmacy, do not use them or get a prescription filled there. They have absolutely no concept of customer service. If you call them to ask a question they don't pick up the phone. They will keep you on hold for 20-30 minutes then hang up on you. They will make you pay cash for prescriptions and tell you that your prescriptions can't go through insurance without even looking at it. It's a CVS. It's located next to the Ralph's. This location is very big and has a lot of stuff in it. There were also almost no people in it, too. They had a lot of Easter leftover stuff as well, and it was all on sale so it was a good deal. As of the time of our visit, the price checker was out of order according to a piece of paper taped on top of it, so I got anxious since I wasn't sure what was actually on sale. But luckily everything (aside from the yellow items) on the Easter clearance shelf was, so the bill was really inexpensive. read more

I have been using this pharmacy the past couple years and have never had a problem. I always find them helpful and friendly. The pharmacist even gave me one of my sons pills the day before we got the refill order from the doc once so he wouldn't have to miss a dose. Incompetence is the first word that comes to mind with with the pharmacy staff. I had to go there because Stater Brothers no longer has a pharmacy and this was the closest to my home. Since I started going there they haven't been able to get my prescriptions right or on time. Ever! They have even tried to give me the wrong medication before. I get 5 meds and they will never all be ready at the same time causing me to have to make multiple trips. I've complained about this several times and all I get are excuses and the issue never gets resolved. The other day the pharmacist promised I could pick up all my meds at 11 am the following day I waited until 12 pm and when I went to pick up my meds... But some corporate monkey, a Michael Scott type, decided to regress and put in new carpet with big honking arrows in front of each checker. The thing is, people want the single line. So now most folks try to improvise a single line amidst all the arrows. It's an awkward and stressful kabuki dance that takes the mirth out of shopping at CVS. Always a line, very busy, and understaffed. The CVS Card discount coupouns are a joke. It's not even worth using up space in your wallet with this thing. All of the discounts are for like 2 days only, and don't apply to anything you really want to buy (prescriptions (it is a pharmacy right?), alcohol, etc.). My company uses Caremark for prescription benefit administration. If you are not aware, Caremark purchased CVS sometime ago and last year, advised those of us with recurring medication needs that instead of mail order to receive the best discount, the local CVS pharmacy would provide up to 90 day supplies at the same price. I transferred my prescriptions to this store and literally, in the last 8 months (2 refill attempts) they have managed to screw up the order. First they refilled every prescription I had available refills awaiting, without my permission. Then when I advised I did not want the refill, the main pharmacist Phillips told me he had taken care of it. Which wasn't exactly right, because all they did was put the meds back on the shelf - they did not credit back the refill that was consumed in the records. That took another 3 phone calls, complaints to the CVS corporate complaint line - AND STILL they did not remove me from the automatic refill system... Keep in mind that unless you are extraordinarily lucky, you will stand in line at least 10 minutes and sometimes more than 20 to pick up medications. Having your order screwed up 3 times is a hour of your life lost to incompetence. Today was the last straw. Yet again, filled a prescription I didn't ask for. Called on phone to say order was ready, come pick up. Waited in line, got to counter - sorry, cant find your order. Can you come back later? Came back later, still can't find it. Finally I'm advised it's ready - wrong prescription... sorry, don't have the one you wanted (the one I asked for 2 weeks ago) When I tried to explain to the lady behind the counter about how this was the third attempt to get the correct prescription, she literally (I do not exaggerate) said she "really couldn't care less"... I commented that seemed to be the case about the whole pharmacy, to which she replied "well that's sad". Indeed! Moving prescriptions back to mail order. Avoid this place like the plague... read more
