It was really hot today so we stopped by 7 Eleven for a Slurpee and Big Gulp. Some locations make you pay first and then they give you the cup to complete the purchase. The cups weren't by the slurpee machine so we went to the register to pay first. The owner made a comment about the cups being on the counter near the machine but he allowed us to pay first. They were away from the machine, behind the counter near where the employees tend to customers' needs. So we paid for a pack of Funyuns, a large big gulp, and a large slurpee. We went over to the get cups and began to fill up on some cold drinks! As I'm dealing with the slurpee overflowing a bit, the owner (Patel) came over yelling at us. He said that we paid for a medium slurpee and asked why I was getting a large one. My husband showed him the receipt indicating that we paid for a large slurpee. The man didn't believe that we were charged for a large slurpee. He said that we paid for a medium slurpee. Then he started to yell at us and we said that we'd pay for the difference. We showed the receipt to him again and he still said that the receipt said "medium slurpee". So basically, we were confused as to why we could clearly see that we paid for a large slurpee. He was going on and on saying who knows what at this point. So as we approached the register again, we asked what the difference would be so we could just get this over with. He said that we could just go and that we can pay the difference when we come back because he will remember us. Seriously, the receipt shows what we paid for and he was trying to get a few more pennies out of us while wearing his mask on his chin. So alas, we will not be returning to this location again because this predicament was a bit too strange for us. Basically, the other reviews for this location are pretty accurate! Completely ignored, the guy barely spoke any English and flatly refused to get my order, bypassed me to help other customers and then ignored me like I wasn't there. He claimed to be the supervisor. All I wanted was a pizza, I was refused service. He was also rude and disrespectful and had headphones in, clearly didn't want to be there and should be immediately dismissed. Two days ago, I stopped at this Seven-Eleven on Muirlands Blvd. in Lake Forest, CA and immediately purchased an energy drink,. After my purchase took my empty plastic water bottle to the fountain drink ice machine to fill half full of ice, (maybe 8 oz.) as I have done for the last 20 years. As soon as I finished and turn to exit the store, the clerk YELLS at me, "Hey,...that will be $1.00 for the ice,...your drink does NOT include any free ice! (still yelling at me). I was in disbelief!! In 25 + years this is the first and ONLY time that I have EVER been yelled at after purchasing an energy drink (currently $3.00 + tax) and helping myself to 8 oz. of ice. He argued we me that I had only one cup and wanted to charged me for a new one. I came in last week and I came in with two cups one was refill and the other was just ice. He charged me 50 cents. I came to this specific 7-Eleven just to grab a bag of chips and some snacks for family while I tap my card for my transaction the cashier notified me that I didn't have enough for the chips. I did, I checked my balance and I had enough for my snacks so then I tried a second time to purchase and my card was declined. I checked my account again to find out that this cashier still took money from my account and proceeded to tell me that I can't leave with my bag of chips. I then asked for a refund. the cashier's English was very hard to understand (fluent just hard to understand) and he was no help whatsoever all he did was repeat the same thing, automated almost, like if it was a script. That customer service feels like a drive through rather than service at all. I leave only to find out from my wife in the car that he proceeded to laugh cowardly while I left. I come here almost every day. Their selection is fantastic and the shop is always clean. It's the only place I have found that carries Enlightend's Roasted Broad Beans. They are so good but thats for a different review. Be patient with the employees, they are quiet and get to the point. But you should be coming for convience- not to pall around. I have lived in Lake Forest for 38 years. This has been my go to 7-11 when I want a Slurpee ever since I was a kid. I like this location better than the one on Trabuco and Lake Forest because its less busy. As a result, the Slurpee machines are less likely to be out of the flavors I like. I always go in and use the Double Gulp cups to get the biggest Slurpee possible on hot days. They have been charging me just over $2 each time but today when I went in, the price was higher so I looked closer at the charge and it said 2 medium gulps with a buck fifty nine each cost. WTF, so I ask him why he charged me for 2 drinks and he said in a snotty tone that the double gulp cup is not for Slurpees and uses more product. This is news to me since I have been doing it since they introduced those bigger cups. They also made the plastic domes big enough to fit on them for that exact purpose. This guy was a prick after charging me a buck more than usual. I have never had a issue with the clerks at any 7-11 store before, but I constantly see this guy getting into pissing matches with customers. Just last week some old dude was threatening to kick his ass because the guy behind the counter overcharged him for something and wouldnt return the difference. 7-11 is a franchise, you need to clean house on these guys and get some quality people in there. read more
