To begin with, this review is focused completely on the pharmacy at this CVS location. First of…read moreall, I really dislike writing negative reviews about any business that provides competent medical services. And, up until my current experience this CVS has certainly been one of them. I have been coming here to vaccines for a number of years. But yesterday, I encountered a situation that completely dumbfounds me. Tell the story, I came in to get my COVID booster and my yearly flu shot. I made an appointment, I arrived on time, and I checked it on my phone. I went and sat down in the vaccine area, and the vaccine nurse continued to pass me by, giving other people their vaccines. Finally, I asked her what was going on, and she apologized, and directed me to the vaccination check-in point at the pharmacy counter. I go there and told them about my situation, and they looked up my appointment, it was confirmed. And, then I gave the young lady at the counter my insurance card. She told me the reason that the vaccination nurse hadn't given me my vaccines is because I would have to pay for them. She told me that the price of the COVID vaccine was $247.00 and the price for my flu shot would be $167.00 I had never heard of such a thing. I have insurance! Vaccines are covered! But, she confirmed that if I wanted any of the vaccinations I would have to pay for them. I told her I would go and talk to my insurance company, and left. Believing that she had made some sort of mistake, I simply made another appointment, for the next day, at the CVS on Pacific Coast Highway. I went in there at my appointment time, checked in, and I was immediately given both of my vaccines. No charge. Again, I have insurance, I should not be charged for my vaccines! I encountered absolutely no problem whatsoever. The pharmacist was extremely nice in helping me. So, I don't know what was going on with that pharmacy staff member? Whatever it is, they don't know how to do their job. She was nice to me, but she made a serious mistake. I think we all understand that if you have insurance, vaccines are covered. So, I truly don't know what went wrong. This is just something for you to think about if you ever go to this CVS to get a vaccine. It may happen to you.

I needed help this morning for a prescription for my wife that I was told was backordered by both Walgreens and CVS. This pharmacy is so helpful for just about anything you need, including pets. And, you actually get to talk to a live person. Not only are they quick to fill prescriptions, if they don't have it they will go out of their way to get you what you need or offer alternative recommendations, and they did just that today. They will also deliver if needed. Who does that anymore except for those that truly value their customers. Unfortunately, I have to take a lot of medications now. I don't know why I didn't do this before, but after the help I received today I am transferring all my prescription needs (and my wife's) to this pharmacy. My wife already has a compound delivered like clockwork every month, so we will transfer the rest of her prescriptions. You really need to check this place out. Amazing!!!

In doing research for the refill I found that Chewy Mail Order Pharmacy has excellent prices, and I always get good service and great customer service from them. The EXACT SAME MEDICINE was about $8.00 from Chewy. I called Walgreens, no mistake on their "cash price" for the medicine. No refund, no recourse. Reportedly Costco has good pet med prices as well. What predatory pricing from Walgreens. You can bet I will never set foot in one again.
