The pharmacy has been fairly professional. But trying to use rewards has been a challenge.

I really enjoy using Mathes Pharmacy and am grateful for their friendly and on-time service…read more The great services they provide are: *they will call you at an appointed time each month to automatically refill your medications. *they will deliver partial medication refills when the doctor office doesn't respond quick enough for any remaining medications. *they will deliver by the following day, if not the same day. *they have a store of health related products across the street, while selling such items in their pharmacy store. *I'd say the turn-over rate is relatively low. I've been using Mathes for two years and many of the same employees are still there. A huge plus! *signing for delivered medications is easy and quick. *they're quick to correct any errors, without any inconvenience to the customer. *a couple of times they ran out of a particular medication, which they restocked and delivered within a couple of days. *I think their prices are very competitive, if not better, than their competitors. A couple of times I called to compare prices and Mathes was definitely lower. They also price matched in order to keep my business. I loved that! I HIGHLY recommend Mathes. They're building a new store front. The new store is located in the same location - further back in the large parking lot. It's really nice to see local businesses pour money back into their business through expansion that'll not only help themselves, but benefit the customers as well.

They switched our insurance plan, and Mathes was not listed as one of the pharmacies that we could use. We have a large family and couldn't justify paying the extra expenses to use them. So we were forced to use CVS, since that is the company that purchased my vehicle idea company. She was now an employee of the nations largest pharmacy chain. What we found was that this company was out of medications more than once. One time we had to wait a week and a half for a common medication to be refilled because they were out! 10 days without a medication, when there are numerous other pharmacies in the area owned by the same company. So fortunately CVS sold the company after a year, and we are able to go back to Mathes. As soon as my medications run out, I'll be there. Why go to Mathes? Because it's NOT a big box store pharmacy. You may not be wowed this it's customer service, but they are always friendly and very helpful. They will definitely take care of you. Plus they are local, which is a bonus to me. If you need a prescription delivered, they even have a free delivery service. I highly recommend going here. Skip the big guys. You won't be sorry.

But please keep this in mind: if the people who appeal an insurance denial have a 98% chance of getting approved (strangely 98% is the correct number for the amount of people who don't appeal and of the 2% that does appeal then 98% of RX Appeals are reversed and approved. But this Walgreens will do everything they can to help you! Even though over the years there's been new employees they are obviously trained very well and so caring. Walgreens should pay more to keep these pharmacy techs who often leave because a higher paying job elsewhere. Finally, if this Walgreens gets closed in the Corporate cutbacks, I have no idea what I would do (the anxiety of finding a new pharmacy is very stressful). Visit this store on 10th & Spring and help support it from being closed .

Do you really think your public is confined to shopping at one location? And why is it you are so anti-people walking into the store and shopping with you? It just feels like you'd make it easier to reach out to you but every time I've tried, you come back with a message that says survey is no longer accepted or thank you for the feedback, but then they don't give you anywhere to submit it because they're having problems with their website?? ... Don't think they need my business anymore. They're probably happy about that since they are just not engaged with their public. Why make it so hard to actually submit any feedback about the situations you run into trying to use your website, trying to use your coupons and if you don't have a mobile phone, which I happen to, but it's just easier to walk into the store and pick it up, well then you're straight out the gate not gonna actually get anything ...because you can't use any of their coupons in store... from the phone? It has to be ordered on the phone and then picked up in store which makes no sense at all. So I can just take my business elsewhere and that's easy enough for me but imagine if 100,000 people all do that. I wonder if Walgreens would notice then their customer service has slipped a lot since Covid hit?

I know this because, not only was I alive back then, I was frequently outside. Now, it's barely staffed, there's a "self-checkout" that seems to be the only option to surrender your money in exchange for overpriced ibuprofen and gummy bears. It closes at 11pm, which, to be fair, is actually pretty late these days. The pharmacy is pretty slow but it's in my "network". It's CVS. They've basically colonized everybody's medication profile. It's them or ExpressScripts. So, we just put up with whatever schedule they have, right? Right?!? The app is clunky. The phone is always busy. But, they had my new prescription that wasn't available via mail order in stock so I guess I should just be grateful.

Due to *everything* it's hard to get a COVID vaccine, especially for kids (even though it's safe and recommended by physicians). Our pediatrician office no longer offers them, and after checking with Walgreens, Walmart, Costco and others, we found that CVS was really the only chain offering them for kids under 5 and only in Indiana. We made an appointment for her via CVS' site originally for the Sellersburg location, and after meeting with Amy -- who we also saw at our subsequent visit to the New Albany CVS -- we were told that even though the system allowed us to make the appointment, we actually need a doctor's prescription for it that says, in our case, that there's another sibling at home with a chronic condition that we need to protect by getting vaccinated. And we needed a paper prescription because prescriptions sent electronically go to the pharmacy, not the clinic, and she can't access them. Amy told me exactly what I needed to do and bring to a follow-up visit. Fast forward a few days and past a trip to the doctors office, and we met Amy once again at this location in New Albany. She was so friendly and helpful and managed to give my daughter her shot without causing any tears. This CVS also was very bright and clean. I would definitely stop here if I was in the area. Thanks so much to Amy for being so knowledgeable and helping us out!
