Trader Joe's has a noticeably different feel compared to other locations in the city. It didn't feel quite as welcoming--my checkout experience was especially flat, with no greeting or goodbye, and it honestly felt like the cashier didn't want to be there. A few staple items were also out of stock, which was a bit disappointing for a regular grocery run. That said, the produce section was excellent--really fresh and well stocked, probably the highlight of the store. I'll be coming here more often while my usual UWS location is under renovation since it's still convenient for me, especially given it used to be my old neighborhood. It's not a bad store at all, just a very different energy, and it'll take a bit of getting used to. read more

Trader Joe's 675 6th Ave - Trader Joe's pleasantly surprised me with its selection and atmosphere. The store was clean, well organized, and had many interesting products. Just like every Trader Joe's, this place is almost always packed. Great selections from a wide variety of produce, meats, dairy, etc. However, depending on the day the stock may be low, really just depends. Not a bad experience, prices still pretty low in terms of NYC. read more

Do really like this Trader Joe's, although the interior always sadly reminds me of the former Barnes & Noble located here. This one is easy to shop! Though on the smaller side, this is a well-stocked Trader Joe's. The checkout line gets very long on weekday evenings, but it moves quickly and they have employees holding signs so you know where in the store the line ends. Their produce is fresh and reasonably priced. Lots of tempting snacks, desserts, and prepared meals as well. read more

I think this is 1 of the largest TJ locations. Huge selection of produce and you can really stock up on food. They have everything you can possibly imagine and some prepared foods too. So you can also grab a sandwich. Good smoked fish and meat departments. Prices are reasonable comparing to other supermarkets. The store was crowded and there was a line but they move the line really fast. They are well organized. read more

A trip to Trader Joe's is always an adventure. You never know what new item or treat you will discover on your outing. Of course, there are some seasonal favorites that make their appearance, coming out of hibernation at different times of the year (eg Peppermint hot chocolate powder). Blink and you might miss the opportunity to capture these rarities as popular items sell out quickly. The staff and environment are ok. The only disappointment for me is that they can retire or not restock items. read more

Surprisingly when I came on Saturday, despite how crazy and hectic it was, the wait in the line was not that bad. The staff was also super friendly when I couldn't find something. Love Trader Joe's! I go every week to get my groceries here, and they have everything you need! I especially love their frozen meals - perfect for a quick and easy meal! They typically have new items coming in, along with seasonal items, and love that they switch it up once in a while. The only thing is that unlike Whole Foods and other grocery stores, all of their vegetables are pre-packaged - they're typically fresh most of the times, but just a note when shopping here! Also, the line gets kind of long on weekends/busy hours, but always moves fast. Feel free to kind of shop in line if the line's really long! Finallyyyyyyyyyyyy!.....I found the product that I've been trying to enjoy, but is ALWAYS sold out in the New Jersey Trader Joe's.....Papas Rellenas (crispy mashed potatoes, stuffed with seasoned ground beef). Aside from the hard to find Papas Rellenas, I also purchased Chili Lime Seasoning Blend, which contains just the right amount of salt and heat. For this TJ's location, I was at the end of a dual 30+ person payment line. However, they have a smart method of having each of the 20+ cashiers hold up a flag, when they're available. Then, a staff member directs both lines to their respective cashier. The lines moved very fast and I was impressed. I'm gonna give this TJ's five stars, because of their efficiency, staff member friendliness, and for having my Papas Rellenas.  :-) read more

We love this place from Bellingham, and to see the same quality and prices in NYC is awesome! Same great wonderful products for snacks, treats, produce, and home items, and the prices are the same as the west coast. Many items even beat the other grocery and pharmacy stores. The service is amazing, the staff are super helpful and friendly, and they are often stocking and restocking the shelves throughout the entire day. The store is clean and a grey atmosphere. Their recycled shopping bags are iconic, super useful, and easily identifiable. read more

Trader Joe's is mostly a decent experience. Their products are usually no less than mid-level to above average. Some times, they're great. So, kudos for better-than-par performance. Though I usually brush my pearly whites with Jason Power Smile, I needed an unforeseen, unresearched tube of toothpaste. I made an off-brand decision and it showed. Trader Joe's had a decent flavor profile, but I found the consistency and calling it toothpaste was a little bit of a misnomer for me, because it needs higher viscosity. A slight squeeze caused it to flow far too easily, thus wasting copious amounts that could have been used over four or five brushings. read more

Everything everything has fallen off. The shop was this brands second location to open in Manhattan. It was a clean shop with affordable prices for a long time until about 6 years ago. Their original store hours were 8 am until 10 pm These hours gave you plenty of time to shop to avoid the crowds. The hours are reduced now but the store is never clean. The location is one level and it originally set up to accommodate high foot traffic and huge lines to checkout. The reconfigured space it is harder to shop, cramped. It is still one floor but it's a tighter fit and now challenging to find the items you want or need. They had a sample station in the back with assorted coffee samples for customers to taste, this is long gone. Higher prices, smaller portions and inferior quality product offered with hostile customer service is the new norm. read more

In search of goodies to bring back home to Hawaii, simple toiletries and all the odds and ends you can find at Trader Joe's can be so much fun! Two of my work colleagues wanted to grab some stuff as this is the nearest location from our hotel and couldn't believe how close they are by foot and so close to Times Square! The only time I needed assistance was to find the nearest restroom. There is a public restroom for customers. The associate was kind enough to point it out to me. As busy as the store was, evening time/after work hours, the cashier line moved very quickly! The cashier was ever so pleasant, what caught my attention and sparked up a conversation was how beautiful the girls hair braids were. read more

HUGE location. I have one near me in LIC and it is wayyyy smaller and has less of a selection. The line moves quickly and staff are super nice. Great selection of flower bouquets as well. I love that they always do a free sample tasting near the back of the store with the cheese. read more

Love this TJ's location! This is my go-to location because it's generally pretty well-stocked. Of course this location gets quite busy, so I'd definitely recommend coming here during off hours, otherwise the line will snake around the store. Luckily the lines moves pretty fast so don't be deterred! I've seen a few samples in store recently but not every visit so I hope those are back everyday soon! It's wild and packed here on Sundays but surprisingly efficient. There are employees everywhere directing people on the checkout line (which wraps up and down the aisles and makes it a little cramped to shop). It's like organized chaos. It's always well stocked though and the prices are really good for a NYC grocery store. I especially love the seasonings here. 21 salute and everything but the bagel are my favorites. Love buying grocery and snacks at trader joe. My fav place to go when I need something simple and cheap. Water here is really cheap. I don't think no one should pay $5 for a water bottle less than a gallon size. - first pic. If you like peanut butter you will love this. Size is great for the price and has a nice crunch wafer taste. Someone I know who don't like peanut butter like that enjoyed it. I reccomend. -second pic. Lasagna was good and please make sure you follow Instructions well with time to heat it up or else it will be cold in certain parts. I reccomend. One big piece inside that would worth the $7 -third pic. A must try if you like curry from asian culture. It was spicy and enjoy every bit of it. For the price you can't beat it. I'm from California and recently visited this Trader Joe's numerous times during a week long visit for a tradeshow. The efficiency and helpfulness of New Yorkers impressed me. Staying at a hotel with amenities made it convenient shopping at TJ, and the affordable water was a blessing compared to nearby pharmacies that charge twice the price. The energy was positive and the vibe was lively. And the employees were super helpful. Overall, it gets top ratings from me for its efficiency, affordability, and familiar West Coast selection. read more

I just had an tj employee intentionally attack me and drop a product on me in the bread isle. Which she proceeded to pick up and actively ignore me. The most horrendous part is I was crouching under the peppermint brownie side of the draw she was in and a cookie brownie hit me in the head while getting my Chantelle cake I waited a few moments to see if she'd even turn her head my way. Did not. I asked if she planned on saying anything. She responds with a run on- I didn't even know it fell. "But you just picked it up off the floor. I didn't even know you were there I'm not apologizing for something I didn't do on purpose. "Accident or not you still apologize if you hit someone" I'm not apologizing I didn't even know it fell ( at this point tries to switch out the box that hit me-which made me realize it wasn't the original box and the placement of the boxes) this one fell on you and I didn't even know if I apologize im admitting fault. I walked away and got a manager but is Trader Joe's safe if the people in the tj print are attacking customers. I've been coming to tj since 14th street location was the only location. I may have to stick to my Costco card- more likely to feed me there than hit me. read more

grocery TRADE This was my first visit to this Trader Joe's, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it. Though this was not my first time at a Trader Joe's location in general, this location felt very comforting so to speak. The other TJ's location I have been to was Uptown on 72nd, and that store felt very crowded and cramped (IMHO). This store was the exact opposite as its spacious with wide isles, with everything located on one floor versus two levels on 72nd. My friend and I easily found some treats/gifts or omiyage (a term we 50th state residents use) for friends and family. And, of course, some goodies for me and some to eat on the 11 hour plane journey back to the islands. Some TJ's goods I am fond of include: Butter waffle cookies Chili and Lime corn tortilla chips Organic earl grey tea Teriyaki beef jerky (its so good!) Trail mix for my mom During this trip, my friend and I also were able to buy some frozen foods to try as our hotel suite was equipped with a full kitchen. Our favorite item so far has been the wild mushroom and black truffle flat bread....incredibly delicious!! Checkout was, as per the TJ's usual, very organized and efficient with a staff member helping to direct customers to available/open cashiers. I've been going to the Chelsea store since they opened over a decade ago, and it's one of my favorites in the city. It feels larger than some of the others, and as long as you're not there at peak time, it's usually a pleasant experience with room to shop. The line does move quickly even when it's long, but to avoid crowds, I mostly go late at night or on weekdays in the late morning/early afternoon. The lines are definitely better than they were years ago, thanks to all the new TJ's locations that have since opened in the city, and I can't remember the last time I had to wait in a line long enough to circle the produce section. Staff here are friendly and always restocking shelves since the store is so busy (good for product turnover). The produce here also just seems fresher and better quality than some of the other TJ stores, so I really like coming here. read more

The store is huge, very organize! Usually a long line but they are very organize so its a quick wait. The shelves are clean and easy to locate what you need. Service: they are super nice and kind. From person outside to the cashier they are very nice and helpful. Food: OMG i love everything here to be honest! Everytime I am here I wanna buy everything! My favorite Trader Joe's in the neighborhood! And by that I mean the only Trader Joe's in the neighborhood, unless you count the sh*tshow that is the union square one. I actually really like this grocery store for its selection and prices. Further, the employees are SO NICE. Multiple times, I've had a conversation during checkout that just feels so real and candid it's like I'm talking to a friend. I almost wonder if I'm coming here for the human interaction more than anything... With that said, I don't love the layout of the store. The dairy section is weirdly divided along the back and every time I go I have a hard time finding something. Also, the past few times I've gone they've been out of tomatoes, which is an odd thing to run out of and kinda killed my plans for the evening meal. All in all, I love TJs. Will come back. read more

Who doesn't love Trader Joe's?!?! Like seriously?! This location is amazing, clean and filled with impeccable goods. Fresh fruits, produce, flowers, plants, all kinds of snack, cheeses, and baked goods... and lots of interesting hot sauce. My family's a huge fan of their "everything but the bagel" seasoning!!! My kid's put that on their eggs, salad, rice rolls, avocado toast... Every. Single. Thing. (No worries, I don't let them drink it... lol). There are a few items I'm addicted to: Churro Bites, amazing corn snacks! Chocolate chips double cookies! My kids love them! And their Brownie bits! So good. Also love their habanero hot sauce and much much more. Most of the staffs are friendly, at least most of the time... with one minor encounter during this pass holiday when I approached 2 staffers by the produce area asking about the potential restocking of a certain holiday item. Both were so engrossed in their own flirtation convo that I felt the "brushed off" with the simple... This is by far my favorite and the best Trader Joe's location in the entire NYC and I've pretty much been to all of them! YES all of them in NYC! Their flower selection is very big and amazing since they have many flowers and even plants to choose from! Their holiday selection is usually on point! This location is by far the best stock and all their products move very quick so you definitely won't find any expired stuff! Their beer selection is absolutely amazing, they have ton of different beers to choose from. I usually stock up on my beers here since their selection is huge and their prices are more than reasonable! Even if you see a long long double line for the cash registers don't worry there's soo many registers open at once the line moves really really quick! read more

This Trader Joe's has been my go-to grocery spot for the past couple of months. I still continue to shop here because even with this pandemic, the TJ Chelsea team are crushing it. Their hours are adjusted to 9a-7pm every day. I usually go on the weekends in the afternoon. When you arrive, there will be a long line outside the store that goes halfway done the avenue -- BUT do not be alarmed. The line goes pretty quick (10-15 min wait), and when you go pay, there's no line by the cashier. All the produce, bread, dairy, frozen, and eggs sections are well stocked. The one thing they seem to be out of stock on was ice cream (boo). There were some mochi options, but no cartons. I always make a point to try a new snack (so many options!!) and my new favorite is the Okra crisps. One of the TJ staff overheard my conversation to get veggie patties, and he directed me to a couple of options including their brand of Impossible meat! It's ~$5 for 2 patties which is cheaper than the other brands (Beyond meat / Impossible Foods) that I've seen in other groceries. Now mind you its a rather nice grocery store, well lit, clean, produce stacked and organized by people who clearly have OCD, but a grocery store nonetheless... THEN WE DECIDED TO GRAB A SALAD.... There were sooooooo many selections, I mean beyond what you'd be used to seeing. AND THE PRICES.... Although this is my first REAL visit to a TJ (but second time inside one) I think I'm MAYBE beginning to see why there's such fanaticism around it. First things first: even if the line here seems super long, you'd be surprised how fast it goes by. Don't let the line deter you from coming in. In terms of TJ's, this one is much like other ones: awesome prices, variety of food, and excellent customer service. The only potential downsides about this store are: (1) due to high traffic and convenient location you might not be able to get a few items off your shopping list, and (2) who knows what regular traffic is like outside a pandemic? I have to concur with those who've seen TJ's decline. The customer service has become rude and little to no help. They used to be great ppl that worked there or at least they were trained properly. Also tge produce is often bad or doesn't last. Prices are up and poorly stocked much of the time. They've discontinued many items.. the last is canned pet food and cat litter. I asked the manager why they discontinued it and he went off on a monologue about how they were in the business to make money and they weren't a charity. It was a far leap from what I was talking. read more
