Stopped here on a whim and glad I did! Fantastic pharmacy with personal service. Discovered items here that I haven't seen anywhere else (except maybe Amazon- many items were less $$ in store!) It was really fun exploring the entire shop. And Beautiful scented candles that I will treat myself to someday. Francis and Brian are great, I look forward to returning. I had been in high heels for 12 hours straight and was hoping to find some of those little fast flats when I stumbled into this place. When I went in and wandered down the aisles, I saw the lady pharmacist working out a customer's problem with another pharmacist. The pharmacist in the booth was leaning down,examining the woman and they were talking back and forth about how to help her. I come from a very, very small town, and when I was little, the pharmacy was that way (the pharmacist even made house calls!). It even had a soda fountain. Shockingly, I'm not 100 years old, that's just how really small towns in flyover country operated (and to some extent, still operate) 20 years ago. This place reminded me of that, and I knew I found my new pharmacy. When I found the little shoes (this place is a lot bigger than it looks, and they had everything, from fancy face products to umbrellas) and went to pay, the pharmacist was talking to the injured woman, telling her how to dress the wound, what to do, etc. I was very impressed. The injured woman was apparently a regular because she told the pharmacist, "I knew you'd know what to do," and seemed very grateful. That was my experience here. Sometimes you're sick or fall down an escalator and you're hurting but it doesn't really require a trip to the doctor. You can go here and tell these kind people what happened and they'll help you. I didn't even know places like that existed anymore, and in midtown New York? I'll definitely be back, this place was amazing. read more

Maybe you New Yorkers are used to this but me, being from Austin TX and going great lengths to take care of my beauty, I was pleasantly surprised to see such a big and high quality collection of beauty products packed in this small apothecary. I don't wanna start naming the brands they offer because I feel like, by omitting any, I'd be implying they might not be as good and I definitely can't name them all. Suffice it to say, if you know what you're looking for, you might find it here; if you don't, you'll still find the right product as the people working here are both, helpful and knowledgeable. read more

Decades ago, these folks gave me a start in my otherwise hopelessly doomed career. Thanks to their training, I went on to achieve better things in my life; much to a lot of astonished friends and relatives who wrote me off as an "86". Windsor continues the Adler family credo of "service". People may complain about a lot of things but to remain competitive in this business you do have a choice of going to CVS or to see someone at Windsor who knows your name and cares about making sure you get your medications when you need it. They also sold me the face cream that cleared up all of my otherwise "incurable" acne. I highly recommend the pharmacy and its staff. read more

"oh my! so this is what people are waxing nostalgic about when they lament the decline of the old-fashioned neighbourhood pharmacy. this place is NOTHING like a duane reade/CVS/walgreens type store!! am i actually getting SERVICE at a DRUGSTORE? Is this friendly individual really asking me if i need help, encouraging me to take my time, checking to see if i have any questions when i look confused???" the above is just a small sample of what was going through my mind as i entered the windsor pharmacy on a bitterly cold saturday morning at 9:30am. I'd just arrived on a redeye from SFO and checked into my hotel. However, the unfortunate realization that this little piggy had left her TSA-approved quart-sized bag of liquids in individual containers not exceeding three ounces (can you tell I do this a lot? :P) prompted me to venture out into the freezing wind in search of a duane reade. Instead, the heavens smiled upon me and I happened upon this little pharmacy. I entered somewhat dubiously, wondering if they would have everything I needed . . . not only did they stock just about all the same stuff you'd expect for at a chain drugstore, they have tons of obscure products that are surprisingly effective. I'd had an issue for the past 12+ months with dry, peeling cuticles, and the cuticle cream I bought for $12 far surpassed the results I'd been getting with the super-expensive salon-exclusive cream I'd lost at the airport checkpoint. The people who work there are solicitous and helpful, but they don't hover unnecessarily either. I love this place! If I could have picked it up and taken it back to SF with me, I would have. Very cute little pharmacy and I have to admit the pharmacist was very helpful after Duane Reade decided they were no longer going to carry my life saving medication and I had to get my refill as soon as possible. He called my doctor's office and baddabing, I had my prescription within the hour. I take off 2 stars for the fact that they don't take insurance, so my normal $7 refill was $40! Wowza! read more

This used to be my favorite pharmacy... I cannot say that anymore. The staff is so attentive and friendly, they are quick to ask if you need help finding anything. Last week was unfortunately the last time I plan to purchase so much as a Chapstick from this place. The woman who I believe is the owner was yelling at her employees in the most unpleasant way I have ever seen in my life, I cannot support a business that practices that kind of management style, not only is it unprofessional to do this and have customers be witness to such, what can only be described as "child like" behavior from management but it is also extremely off putting to know that employees have to work with such an unpleasant person and even more upsetting that this is the kind of person who is in charge of this business! read more

I (desperately) needed an over-the-counter medication that I couldn't find at Duane Reade, Rite Aid, Walgreen's or CVS. This place had it and was open at 10:30 pm on a weeknight. They were super nice when I called, and when I arrived to pick up what I needed, they had put it aside without me asking. Customer service! I don't live anywhere near it, but I will go out of my way to shop at Windsor in the future. read more

The pharmacy section is fast and efficient. They offer many imported and specialty items not readily available elsewhere. Apart from the prescription drugs, however, anything bought there and opened, even if not used, is non-returnable. If you complain enough, you will be invited to shop at the corner Duane-Reade. where prices are about a third less and they do accept returned merchandise.
