This CVS closes at 11pm. I showed up at 10:50 to grab a couple items before closing. There were at least 5 other people in the store doing the same. The employee kept telling everyone to leave and that they had 1min even though it was 10:51pm. I was looking for my items for less than 5min and the employee was staring at me gesturing for me to leave. I felt so pressured I put down the items I grabbed and told him the store is still open for 5min but I'm leaving because he was being very rude. He they said "go ahead and get what you need" and I said no I'm good after his attitude. There was another gentleman knocking on the door confused why they already locked the doors when it was 10:55. As I left the employee told the customer outside that they were closed and needed to set the alarm and already shut down the register. The man was visibly upset and we both agreed the employee was very rude and the store should have remained open until 11pm. I went to my car and both employees immediately left before 11pm and speed off in the parking lot. Extremely unprofessional and bad customer service. Me and I'm sure others won't be back to this location. read more

I went to pick up my refill medication. All were ready except one. I told the pharmacist i was flying to New York and needed all my medicines. He said he would contact my insurance and asked me to wait. After about ten minutes, the assistant gave me a 100-count supply and charged me $27.22. When i asked why i had to pay despite having two insurances, i was told the medication was not covered. Later, my insurance explained the charges was because the refill was one week early. The pharmacy should have clearly explained this, offered only a few days supply until the refill date, and been honest about the cost. this situation caused unnecessary financial stress and feels unfair to costumers on a limited budget. Because of this experience, i do not trust this pharmacy and feel costumers with limited budget are being treated unfairly. read more

5 stars for the pharmacy team! But 1.25 stars for the checkout staff. This represents the 1 of 4 employees that were actually helpful today. I knew was left my phone in the bathroom, so I politely asked a staff member to retrieve it. He snapped back that they didn't have it, without bothering to check. I asked if he would check with the rest of the team. I also requested that he look in the back. He reluctantly asked the two staff members within earshot, who also rudely refuted having it, and all 3 refused to act on checking the back. While searching again, I stumbled upon a 4th employee, who I asked about the phone. He immediately said, "allow me to get it for you." So, where was it? Locked up in the back. Needless to say, this store could improve upon willingness to help their customers and internal communication. I am appreciative of the 1/4 helpful employees that didn't waste my time today. read more

AOK Location. The shop is on the smaller side. It can get pretty crowded. They carry the basics and you can get in and out pretty quick. Customer Service is AOK. Parking is relatively easy. It seems we stop by here often enough. The highlight is that the cashiers move you super quick and even if there is a line, I have never really waited. read more

I came here for my second Covid Vaccine. Everyone that checked in for a Vaccine was instructed to line up in the aisle next to the dish detergent until called to the Technician for their vaccine. So while I was on line for a Vaccine some us debated which is the most effective dish detergent? The winner by consensus was: DAWN Platinum. That's what I always buy! I asked 2 women and 2 men on line why they chose DAWN Platinum? Woman One: "Because I am a Platinum Blonde and my husband loves it!" Man One: "My wife prefers Platinum over Gold." Woman Two: "When they add Platinum to the formula--that's what cuts the grease." Man Two: "Because my wife is named DAWN and she is a Platinum Blonde!" (You have to live in Newport Beach to understand this.) This is a smaller CVS--it's tight in this store--older build-out. Fantastic, private area of Newport, next to Ralphs. Back-bay trail is close by and so is Balboa Island. I did not have any side effects from the second (or the first) Pfizer Vaccine so I hope they did not inject water or air? I don't leave bad reviews but this was beyond bad! A few days ago I asked them to hold one prescription because I wanted to check with my doctors. Returned today and waited in line then was sent to another line. Waited for young woman to be ready to serve this line( she had some sorting to do) ... she wasn't sure and had to get another pharmacist to approve...still more sorting...finally they were going to fill it but they only had one months worth not three months worth.so one months was fine. Now 30 minutes and I'm waiting. They call my name. I go back to the window. Same person is now on the phone for a very lengthy phone call. I stood and waited quietly. When she got off, it was if she didn't know me and told me to go to yet another line. I go and wait, then that person decides she wants to show me a shortcut and has me get out my phone and shows me to put in my inforto pull up a code...another 10 minutes...I wanted to say I'm well into an hour here, but I didn't, now she scans my code and goes to look for the prescription and it disappeared...they could not find it. Now 5 people are looking for it.... Another hunt and it's now 11:30 and time for lunch. They tell me to go home and they will figure it out later. An hour plus at CVS and no prescription. worst pharmacy experience ever read more

The pharmacy customer service at this location is terrible. I needed a medication consult for a new prescription so I went into this location after checking the CVS website to make sure they offered this service. Upon arrival, there were 3 pharmacists on duty. They told me they couldn't do the consult because their "software was down" and they didn't know when it would be up again. Jenny and her team to tell me to go to Walgreens or another retailer. I told them the website said they offered the service but they just mumbled the system is down. I happen to be in CDM later that day and stopped by another CVS location and the pharmacist said she was happy to do it. She also seemed confused and surprised why East Bluff didn't help me. I decided to complain via the CVS website. If they were blowing me off I can imagine I'm not the only customer being treated this way. My first complaint went unaddressed even though I asked for a call back. It wasn't until my second complaint that Jenny called me. She called me at 7:45AM, 8:08a and 9:43a all in the SAME DAY. I am at work I can't answer. Don't call a customer that early and don't bombard them with 3 calls within the span of 3 hours!! Im guessing she's calling me because it was likely escalated to her boss. The team at this location is rude and unprofessional. Is this how you treat customers? This is for the CVS on Eastbluff. Usually I don't have more problems than average, that means, the service is uneven and the stock is lacking. The pharmacy staff is usually helpful. But last time I was treated like a moron by the cashier and the woman at the prescriptions counter was new and could not figure how to add items to the purchase. Moreover the machine that spits out coupons was out of paper. The manager needs to do better. read more

Very friendly and helpful staff at the pharmacy. I had a prescription cream which came out with a $175 copay with my insurance. The pharmacy staff was so helpful and without even me asking for it, went back to the computer and searched for me and was able to locate a coupon and applied it, making my copay $0 (yes that's right $175 copay went down to $0!!!) That's great customer service and going the extra mile for your customers and I really appreciate it. BTW the wait time here is also guite short compared with other pharmacies. read more

This is my store! Michael the manager is amazing. Kirsten the makeup lady is so helpful. The pharmacy techs are second to none. WiFi and phone reception is non existent so make sure you open your CVS app outside. The store is always in perfect condition and everything is easy to find. They do run out of vitamins a lot but they honor 50% off if it is a buy one get one free and they are sold out. Please be aware of their new "CARE PASS". I strongly advise informing any ELDERLY that you know who uses CVS... DO NOT SIGN UP for this "care pass". They may not have the patience, follow through or tech knowledge required to cancel this membership. I was simply asked if I would like a $10 coupon added to my account (who wouldn't right?) I was asked to slide my card, I didn't think anything of it because I was picking up a prescription. I later received an email stating that I would have recurring charges for $10 every month and would be provided a five dollar coupon. Why would anyone pay $10 a month for a five dollar coupon?! Trying to cancel was extremely frustrating to say the least. I am in my late 30s and very tech savvy. Each time I tried to go on the website to cancel my "care pass" subscription I received an error and was told to try again later. After trying for three weeks I finally called customer service where it took an additional 30 minutes and they had to confirm the cancellation request with my husband because we use his email. He was not in the store when the clerk signed me up, why did he need to be on the phone to confirm the cancellation? While I understand it's only $10 a month my concern is that someone on a fixed income may be misled the way I was and not truly understand what they're signing up for and it's very hard to cancel. read more

Literally every time I come here they have fu*%#d up my prescription. I have lived near this god awful place for a year and it's the only convenient pharmacy for my insurance, but Every. Single. Time I have come here they either overcharged me, or used an expired insurance policy that I haven't used in 4 years and gave me the wrong rate, deleted my info, or didn't get started on filling a prescription sent over 3 days before.... Today they told me that I didn't have a prescription ready or available for refill - when I literally have an email telling me it's ready for pickup. Last time I came they called me asking if I was coming to pick up, I said yes I will be there tomorrow by 2. Came the next day by 1pm and they tell me they put it back because I took too long to pick it up. Can someone who works here just be in charge?? Clearly they need direction. And leadership. Like, I get that retail sucks, but when people depend on you for life saving medicines, it would be overwhelmingly wonderful if ANYONE could be bothered to have some semblance of a clue as to how to do the damn job. Also, P.S. don't blame this on the pandemic... y'all were screwing up prescriptions in 2 different cities for 2 years before I found my way to this garbage location. AWFUL. It seems as if those who like this place are talking about the store or over-the-counter meds. Fine. The store is a typical CVS and the customer service in the store is great. BUT AVOID THE PHARMACY - which is the main reason for all CVS's to exist. This pharmacy repeatedly screws up. The people who answer the phone treat you like an inconvenience. So do the pharmacists. (Don't you just love a pharmacy who disobeys your doctor's rx order?) Countless times I have arranged a pickup for an hour or two from when when I call. Last time, I showed up 6 hours after that and was told I had to wait because they still hadn't filled it. I am appalled that CVS allowed 3 separate people to walk into the store without masks. Two went to the pharmacy and picked up meds. I called and spoke to Mike the manager and the best he said he could do was ask them to put a mask on. Why is anyone allowed into the store without a mask when high risk individuals need their medication and have no choice but risk their lives for that medication. Clearly, the nicest staff at this pharmacy! I just left "the pharmacy from hell" which included a form of discrimination just because of the medication I have to take. I'm only speaking of the pharmacists at Rite Aid San Miguel. There is only one male (initial "S") that is non judgemental. The entire staff at CVS East Bluff are ALL SO NICE! This CVS is located in Eastbluff. The ceiling isn't that high. I went in to check out the Easter clearance. There was some available so I got some discount candy. There was only one cashier and he was a little busy but it was fine since he summoned another. When I entered the restroom it sounded like there was a dragon in it. It was clean otherwise, but it's not one of those restrooms that I'd want to sit in for hours if I'm constipated. There's a Pokémon GO gym outside. read more

I have been here multiple times and have seen customers not wearing masks or wearing them wrong (nose exposed or sometimes even mouth exposed) and none of the CVS workers ask them to put on masks. I know it sucks to ask them to do so but please do so to protect the rest of us! I am always debating saying something or just getting out of there as fast as I can. I had to sue the one in San Clemente. the pharmacy board had to sanction them. te one at east less is rude and awful. charging me for my prescription then telling me they made a mistake and I have to come in for a refund. they send refill request electronically without telling you and the doctors office only uses faxes and then they delay the refill. how this place atays in business is beyond me. it's not rocket science to refill prescription properly and be pleasant at the same time. dumb and rude not a good combination read more
