Yesterday went to pharmacy and asked for help with OTC medicine and was unimpressed with service. Today went to get prescription filled and was informed it would be 45 min cause the pharmacist who was standing in front of me was going to lunch in 3 minutes. Not sure about industry standards but as they serve the sick, a little respect for the urgency many feel when trying to get their medicine would be nice. I respect that pharmacists eat too but maybe getting a little backup when the ONLY pharmacist takes his break would be worthwhile? A zillion pharmacies in the world, CVS. So when my insurance carrier switched from Walgreens to CVS I came here, since it is in the neighborhood. I appreciated that the pharmacy is easy to spot, while the one at Walgreens was tucked away in an almost dark corner. I was impressed by how many people were working in the pharmacy, how well organized it seemed, and how friendly the first representative was. My experience since then has been pretty much abysmal. There always is a wait to pick up meds, while there almost never was at Walgreens. There have been times when the line runs 7-8 people long, and they have only one representative working pick-ups. This while there are anywhere from 3-6 other employees in the pharmacy! It gets kind of tiresome having to ask them to add someone to the pick-up service. This is such a basic management issue, which should have been corrected a long time ago. Also, today I found out today that a renewal that I walked in about 10 days ago was not even in the system. Worst fucking pharmacy ever! If you ever fill a prescription here they put you in auto-billing AND YOU CANT EVER GET OFF!!!!

The WORST CVS branch. The prescription medication was short by two capsules and when I asked to recount, the pharmacist counted it twice and still short and wouldn't admit it. One capsule drop on the computer table and she picked it up with BARE hands. When I reminded her of the infection control, she cursed and asked me about my intentions. I said I just need to get what I paid for and what is in the prescription. Before I left she told me to never return back. CVS Pharmacy management, I think you need to investigate and reorient your staff on medication counting and customer service. read more

Honestly today I'm very disappointed at how they treated me at the pharmacy. I was told that my perception would be ready for pick up at 12:30. When I got there they had not prepared anything and asked me to wait 15 min which I was totally ok with. After 15 min I went up to the pick up station to be told to wait another 15 minutes when I complained the girl at the front said that she would expedite my percrition and to wait for a phone call. After waiting another 20 minutes she tells me that the perception isn't ready and when I told her I'm not going to wait any longer she walks up to the other pharmacist and the other girl tells her that she never put in the expedition call and the girl tells her that she couldn't cause there was a line. At this point I'm loosing my patience so they call me over to the other window just to tell me that they don't have enough to fill up my perception and they can give me a few and have me come back on Monday. So basically I ended up being at the pharmacy from 12:30 to 2 just to not get any prescription and they transferred me to another pharmacy with a two hour wait time. I wasn't planning on spending my entire Saturday at CVS just to pick up some vitamins. I'm very disappointed!!! read more

Gabby is a rockstar! My vet was out of syringes for my diabetic cat and it was difficult to find the correct ones anywhere. I had looked online, I had called everywhere, I had been everywhere. After a Roma Deli run, I checked out the CVS across the street. Gabby in the pharmacy spent well over 20 minutes trying to help - trying to find the syringes at other CVS locations, calling my vet because they wrote the scrip incorrectly (ugh!) and even going the extra mile and looking online in hopes of finding the syringes somewhere else. She was so awesome and when I apologized for all the trouble I put her thru she just smiled and said "No need, it's my job." Thank you Gabby! read more

The Pharmacy here lost my birthday and all prior records. Completely unacceptable. The employees here do give me attitude about coupons and the elderly african american woman cashier seems to hate anyone who buys booze here. The younger african american cashier seems to be both too fast at checkout and yet inaccurate. I avoid this store. Also they can't spell "Pasadena" .... their receipts say PASEDENA. Seriously? I have been a CVS customer for years, ONLY because it is convenient for me. In all the years no employee, including pharmacy personnel, has ever even been nice to me, let alone helpful... until last week. When I stopped in to pick up a prescription a young woman named "Pat" greeted me at the door. She was friendly and personable, and offered to help me find anything I needed. Wow! CVS Pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - PASADENA, California

Hands down the best CVS! No crowds, no bums, no drunks, no lines. Compared to other locations this is hands down the absolute best.

The staff is just awful here. The cashier is rude and lied right to my face, I'd definitely recommend avoiding this CVS if you can.

First of all, rating is for Pharmacy Department only. The Store Manager "Mr. A" seems to be a nice person, even though i never got the chance to see him, but the Asst. Manager (sorry sir i forgot your name) is very nice, helpful and courteous. My worst experience is with the Pharmacy Manager - Chad T. For 12 years since i moved to Pasadena, this is my go to Pharmacy, there are pharmacist and pharmacy techs in this location that are nice, welcoming, and open to conversations. There are only 2 instances that there is an oversight in the pharmacy, one is a 90 count prescription for a 30 days supply. Since i trust them, i pick it up, hide it and the next day when i am trying to get 3 for the day, i noticed that it is light, so i counted and it's only 30 pcs., Benefit of the doubt, maybe the pharmacist thought 30 for 30 days, so i called and got a chance to speak with Stephanie (she is one of the best worker there), told me to come and they could check on it. I came, she picked it up, after a few minutes, i got the 90 back. From then, i need to count the medications when i go home. For courtesy to other people, i don't count them in CVS, why?, well they have a line, lots of elderly and sick are waiting for medications, and it only happens once, BUT, last month, i came to pick a 30 days sleeping pills. I picked up at night, didn't get a chance to count it until the next morning. I am missing 2 pills, so i called, the pharmacy tech transferred the call to Chad who asked me if he could ask me a question, i said Yes, and he asked "Are you gonna be honest with me", I said Yes (in the back of my mind, this fool think i am a child), and then told me that i have a history of doing this. Doing what?, i told him this is the second time you did it to us, and he just accused me of doing this a lot when it only happens twice. Trying his best to avoid the manner that he just accused me without properly saying it, he told me that there are cameras and he will checked making sure i am not lying. I said Good, take your time, call me when you find out what happens. Even when he denies that he accused me, it is evident that he imply that i did this a lot of time and will try his best making sure it's not their fault. After a few minutes i called my insurance and asked if i could transfer to a small business pharmacy, where the pharmacist knows you and will take care of you. Sad to say, since we have prescriptions that can be refill for 3 - 6 months, i need to stay in big pharmacy. The customer service asked me what happened, i told her everything and she said i need to transfer you to someone who can help, I got a chance to talked to someone and she said they will take care of it, honestly i didn't know she will transfer me to corporate office. After a few hours, the store manager called me and told me to that i can pick up only 1, and i said why only 1 when i am missing 2, he said they can only give me 1, i said fine, we need whatever we can get. Then, Chad called me and asked why did i call corporate, dude, no need to speak with you and hang up the phone. When i came to pick it up, the pharmacist Judy told me she cannot give it to me and i need to speak with Chad. I said i am not gonna speak with him and i was told to see you. The assistant manager helped me and he spoke with the Store Manager and said it's ok to pick up. Judy told me that she only had 1 Oversight, then where is the other one, so there is a 99% probability that the other one is in there, i saw some review here that there are pills on the floor and few wrote that they have oversight too. The working space in the pharmacy are not that big, some prescriptions are on the other side of the table or on the floor. She even told me i should not call corporate and just speak with Chad, sorry Miss, i didn't call corporate, they transferred my call. Why will i waste my time talking to Chad, i remember one time i was waiting to speak with him and he is impatient with the customer ahead of me. There are bad days and good days. The things is you are a Pharmacy, where people who are physically and/or mentally sick relies on you to be compassionate and caring, mistakes and errors are not unusual in all kinds of work, but you are providing service, give your best and treat everyone how you like to be treated. read more

This one star is not for the pharmacy, but for everyone else working there, including management. I've been going to this CVS for a few years now, and the customer service is just awful. There's one woman, in particular, who could use training in smiling. She's always rude and has the worst body language while working. I avoid her at all costs. The manager is just as bad. If you see a repeated customer, I would smile and make them know how much you appreciate them. Nope. He seems to be unable to muster that kind of customer service. The only person that I always see smiling and whom recognizes me, is the Asian lady who is always at the register closest to the door. She's very nice. So I'm going to get my prescriptions and other necessities somewhere else. I have options. CVS, figure it out, people. There's a reason you barely have a 3 star rating. read more

What has happened to this pharmacy (corner of Lake & Mountain)? The customer service has declined significantly over the years...They are short, rude and extremely impatient when it comes to answering questions. Then, "Stephanie" (refused to give me her last name) said that she was tired of repeating herself and had to help other customers in line. Well, am I not a customer? Why doesn't she just take a deep breath, slow down and LISTEN to what the customer (me) is asking? I don't have the time to repeat myself and waste either! Another clerk (young Asian man) was doing the same with the customer he was helping. Please! Whoever the supervisor or manager is, take some time to train your employees. And if you have no patience, find customer questions repetitive and annoying (remember, most questions have significant effect on the patients' wellbeing), then go and find a different job! read more

This CVS is always well stocked and clean. The employees are very helpful, and in the years I have been going to CVS have rarely lead me astray. They often have good sales, especially if you have the CVS rewards card. The reason I am giving them only three stars is that they seem to be woefully understaffed. Even when the store is empty it is very hard to find someone to assist you. Often there is only one person on the floor assisting costumers, so during busy times is can be difficult to get help. read more

Even a one star is a waste. I've visited multiple CVS Pharmacy for my prescription and none of the locations had it in their inventory. I called this location to check if I should even bother going. When I called to check, a lady tells me that's it's AGAINST THE LAW TO TELL ME IF THEY HAVE IT OR NOT. I searched online and didn't see a single information about this. Then, I asked again nicely, if I should bother going there or not. She then again, rudely answers my question by saying yes you can come and HUNG UP ON ME. What kind of pharmacist are you, treating your patience this way???? I've never felt this way, trying to pick up my medicine. The entire staff cares about doing a good job, they truly seem to care about one another and they are super efficient. What more can one ask for? The pharmacy staff are friendly and helpful, the store is a bit dishevelled and kind of dirty, and there are always homeless people chilling out front (but they mind themselves, aren't in your face) Plenty of parking, almost never crowded here. This is the saddest CVS. They also seem to think everyone will shoplift. I walked in with my backpack and shortly after a curt "Hello", I get a "request" to leave my bag. Fully intending to leave my bag, I ask where the sunglasses are. The cashier who "requested" I leave my bag, pointed to where I could leave my bag and did not answer my question. I asked again after putting my bag down and AGAIN no answer. It took another employee to point out where the sunglasses were. I grabbed them, paid and left. I am usually very polite to cashiers and other workers, but this woman was fake polite on the way out. I guess she felt she prevented a shoplifter and I was mad at her for that reason. No dear, I was mad at you because you should have listened to my question first and mote politely ask me to leave my bag. Last time I step inside that store. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. The store is a nice store. The pharmacist on the other hand, not so accomodating. Informed me he couldn't fill my prescription due to the doctor not writing directions. He refused to call the office to verify the prescription. I myself am a healthcare provider and know that a prescription can be verified with the prescribing doctor. His refusal to do this showed me his negligence and lack of professionalism. Awful. Terrible service. Ordered a photo panel online yesterday and they sent me an email saying it was ready. I went and they hand me a printed picture. They even had in the order "mounted photo panel". Had to wait 15min. They said they didn´t have panels. But online showed they were available. I talked to the manager. Terrible customer service. The only solution she offered is "Go to another CVS" with bad attitude. Unacceptable. Will never be back. read more

I wish I could give this place higher stars- the non pharmacy staff is very friendly but the pharmacy staff is definitely lacking. They messed up my prescription tonight and instead of apologizing to me, the customer, they just apologized to each other for the inconvenience of having to do more work. This review is for their flu shots. I get my flu shot every year since I was a kid. I had asthma growing up and now I work around small children. Every year I'm right there when I hear flu shots are in. Why? Because I don't want to get the flu. The last few years of flu shots have been strikes compared to my long history with them. At costco my arm bled excessively for reasons unknown. Last year at Rite Aid I was verbal accosted by the pharmacist and told I had to wait 20 minutes after getting the shot to make sure I wouldn't faint. I was so pleased with the CVS staff. They were fast, attentive, made the process super easy (then again I am an old hat at this, so that helped). I didn't have to wait almost at all which I normally do at other places. The pharmacist was very friendly, and she did not demand I wait for 20 minutes post shot. The only reason I am taking a star off is that I was not given my flu shot coupon. You are supposed to get some % off for getting a flu shot when you shop in the store. Not a big deal because I don't shop at CVS, but still. Happy to have my flu shot done, and happy they were competent at it. read more

I have also thought it would be nice if the store were open 24 hours, but the CVS on Arroyo is 24, and the Ralph's on Lake and Walnut is almost 24, so I've met my late-late-night needs with them. read more

this is more a rant to the system rather the business...they don't accomodate Canadian citizens who can normally buy over the counter drugs in Canada! Talk about a poor experience. Went on Sunday for passport. The counter girl indicated it was not available. I asked when it might be available she could not get a solid answer. When pressed a little further she indicated it might available around 2 pm. Really- this the counter customer service. Experience took place at 9:45 am on 11/27/11 in the event any intelligent manager wants to correct the issue. read more
