This is, far and away, the worst pharmacy that I've ever used. Let me just say that in filing my own prescription, it took an extremely long time. I've never had to wait, anywhere, for more than 30 minutes for a script to be filled. Mostly, 10 to 15 mins. Here, I wait over 45 every time. Apparently, after I wait and wait, I have to wait again for the pharmacist to talk to me. I explain that I've been taking the same medications for 12 years, and I don't need to speak to anyone about it. That's fine, they say, but we still have to wait for the pharmacist to "sign off" before they can accept payment. Sorry, they say, the pharmacist is filling a complicated order & cannot be interrupted. Now, I wait another 10 or 15 minutes for LITERALLY, the pharmacist to come out, punch something into the computer, which allows them to take my money. Next, there was a fiasco when my partner was very sick. The doctor faxed in the order and by the time we showed up, 30 minutes later, it was not filled and the pick up counter pointed us over to the "drop off" line (with about 15 people in it). She said that it wasn't ready and we had to go to the drop off line. We explained we had nothing to drop off, the script was faxed in but she insisted. We called the doctor who confirmed that the fax went through. They were kind enough to fax again, even though, technically, the doctor's office was closed. CVS STILL had "no record" of the prescription being faxed in. I had to get my partner home, because dizziness, nausea and loss of coordination made standing around CVS an impossibility. I called them from home and explained the situation. They said they would look for it but there were people who "actually showed up" to the pharmacy "in person" who were getting priority treatment. I went through the roof. We did "actually show up". They said they would "look around" for the fax and call back. An hour goes by. No call. We call the doctor again and ask them to please call the pharmacy which they do immediately. I wait another 30 minutes, while my partner is in agony, waiting for these meds. Then, I just drive down because apparently, "actually showing up" gets you "priority" treatment. I wait in line. I guess priority treatment means being met with an incredulous "well, did someone call you?" Nope, the script is STILL NOT FILLED. I have to get back into the "drop off" line. Finally, I speak to the person who answered the phone previously. To her credit, she was kind to me but still explained that she "looked all over" for the (TWO!) faxes and couldn't find them. I mean, what, how many places could there be for the two faxes to hide? I explained that there should have been a call. Oh, she says, but it wasn't called in until 6pm. Well, the doctor's office confirmed that they called well before that and even so, it was now 45 minutes later with the script still unfilled! Now, I have to wait for it to be filled and they promise to expedite the process. I've been very polite throughout and wait patiently. They do get it filled quickly (for them, although 15 minutes was the maximum it ever took in my old pharmacy). But, before I can leave, the pharmacist "wants to talk to me". I thought I would weep. I waited again, for him to come out. He finally comes out, looking put out. "Yes?" he says, with some annoyance. I'm beside myself. "I was told YOU wanted to talk to ME" I said. "Oh" he says and proceeds to tell me the NAME OF THE MEDICATION and ask me if I had any questions. I still cannot believe it. I had to wait for him to come out and tell me the name of the medication? And, to add insult to injury, HE looks annoyed about it? Now, we're going through the whole thing again with a new script for three more days of the medication. We called today so they can put in the request to the doctor's office for the refill (which is how CVS wants it done). We call to check to be sure the script is filled before we go stand in line again. "Oh no," they say "we faxed your doctor, he just never got back to us". Really? This is a very conscientious doctor so we call his assistant. "Well," she says "it literally just arrived, I'm faxing it back now." CVS can't find it. Around we go again. Prescriptions are being transferred as I type this. STAY AWAY. read more

Absolutely ZERO stars! For two days I waited on their pharmacy line for an hour each time and they never picked up! Out of Rx and no way to get in touch with these bozos who run the pharmacy. They said they contacted my doc for a refill and the doc office says they never received anything. That was 4 days ago! If you actually go in to the pharmacy the line is always very long because there is only one person serving people. This place is a joke and a complete waste of time! read more

Uh, I don't THINK so! CVS was a decent, relatively inexpensive chain when it was Longs. Not anymore! I routinely find myself waiting in long lines for my prescriptions even when the store is deserted. Often, when my script is not quite ready, or even to ask a question, I have to go to the other window, then to the back of the queue. The pharmacy techs often sport attitudes which I find completely unprofessional. To compound matters, the stock is very limited, unlike when it was Longs, and the store is always understaffed. As far as ambience goes, one word describes it: creepy. Dirty carpeted floors, crappy selection, bare shelves, bizarre employees. They also have a huge sign outside that says "pharmacy 24 hours" which is TOTALLY misleading since the pharmacy section closes at 9PM and 6PM on weekends. More folks ought to complain about this DECEPTIVE approach to advertising. Get your prescription filled elsewhere. read more

The pharmacy's "computer" is down and they can't manage to refill a much needed prescription without it, Given that their services affect quality of life issues one would think that a back up plan would be available. For 24 hours, they will not say anything other than the computer is down and they don't have any idea on when it will be up or suggest an alternate solution. Hands down the worst pharmacy I have ever used. Long lines because they refuse to add counter help. The pharmacists have dirty lab coats. They have also mismanaged my perscriptions multiple times. They begged me to put them on auto-fill, yet they are never ready when I run out of medicine (monthly one a day meds), always make me wait for up to one hour when I have called them in and show up @ the correct time, and have sent my meds to some other-worldly 'central fill station' telling me the meds will be in the next day. These are breathing meds. If you want a headache and life-threatening stress, use CVS. read more

Worst. Pharmacy. Ever. Every time I've ever gotten a prescription from this place there are problems throughout the entire process. My doctor's have to fax in the prescription numerous times before anyone can even find it- then I always call at least twice to make sure it is ready for pickup but alas, every time I get there my prescription is not ready. Yesterday they told me to come pick up at 5:00- and by 5:45 still not ready.. the lady at the counter got an attitude with me... really really frustrating. In terms of the rest of the store- they have a small selection and rarely have what I'm looking for. It's also pretty dumpy looking and unorganized. I have had enough, and will be transferring all of my remaining refills to another pharmacy so that I never have to go back to this CVS! read more

While the people at CVS are nice, their ability to keep our prescriptions filled was horrible. They seemed incapable of communicating with our Dr when a refill was required and their attitude was "Can't Do" - not good if you are in a service industry. They were always so "busy" that it would take 1 hour plus to fill a new prescription. We kept trying CVS for 6 months after the change (from Longs), thinking that the change had caused some system problems that would be overcome with time, but ultimately we chose to move our prescription to a "Can Do" pharmacy. read more

Worst CVS I have ever been to, period. The workers are rude, except for Isabella. The manager at the time I visited had horrible customer service skills and did not want to help us. I will not go here again. A few of the staff behind the pharmacy counter are friendly enough but most however are put out when you show up. And heaven forbid you need to ask the pharmacist a question. He actually rolled his eyes at me and told me to look up the side effects for myself when I asked him about something that had been prescribed to me while I was breast feeding. Does not even rate a one star. Stopped here @ 6a.m. to purchase bait for salmon fishing. Needed to use the restroom because of my diverticulitis. The morning "manager" stopped me and asked me where I was going, and I said that I needed to use the restroom. He said that it was closed because he mopped it. There were no signs, the floor was dry and when I proceeded forward, he yelled "Stop, I said they were closed!" He got into my face and continued to yell "get out of my store!". My stoic Swedish blood began to boil as I told him 3 times: "Do not yell at me". He continued to yell at me to get out his store, and got on his phone to call "authorities". He would only give his name as John (no last name). I hope because of his abusiveness and rudeness he gets terminated. CVS does not need this kind of jerk representing their store. read more

We go here for all our prescriptions and the pharmacy staff is competent, friendly and efficient. We have been loyal customers for years! While the store might have some items that are higher priced than say Target (though certainly not all), we find what we need and find the convenience well worth it. The kids and I enjoy leisurely shopping there, picking out cards, pet toys, makeup, and odds and ends. The staff is friendly and overall quite stable so, over time, we have gotten to know most of the folks that work there. As a result, it is like small town shopping, which we love. It is easy to park there too! We are happy to have this CVS as our neighborhood pharmacy! read more

Today I came out of quarantine in hopes to find more hand sanitizer, wipes, glove and hygiene products. I stop by target that was completely out of everything and thought cvs could possibly be my last hope. I never go to cvs so I was a little turned around. The cashier person watched me head toward the make up aisle. I was hoping to find the facial wash I usually use was over there, but I didn't see it. Then I head over to the cleaning product area which was completely empty, wishful thinking it would have some products left. As I was heading towards the exit door empty hand the cashier person stopped me. Told me that I can't be coming in the store if I'm not going to buy any essential items. I told him that your out of everything I need. He decides to make a sexist comment "I didn't know make up was an essential item". After he said that Two "MEN" pass me with empty hands exiting the store. he didn't say a damn thing to them, I guess it must be nice having a dick. read more

Selected and printed out various sizes of photos here and the quality was good. The other drug store items sold here can be really pricey. I recommend going to Grocery Outlet, Dollar Tree, or even 7 Eleven first for a good deal. Also, the Pharmacy is not staffed properly here and the line is very long. read more

This place has terrible service! Me and our friends walked in there, minding our own business, and the manager came out and yelled at us! He told us to buy something or get out. Went into CVS late in the day hoping to fill a prescription that I needed same night. I had been to two other places and it was not available until next day. CVS had it filled and ready to go in less than twenty minutes! After the reviews I had seen here I was expecting to find it funky, it wasn't. Store was clean, shelves were stocked. They even had a hard to find allergy medication in stock. Sandra in the pharmacy was polite and personable. I will be back. read more

This is the worst place ever. I will never spend a penny there again. I miss Longs! The store is set up in a way in which you can't find anything. If you want a brush it's in five different places. If you want some toilet paper, that's in five different places too! They don't even have file folders. They don't have the common brands that we all love, instead they have their own which you're forced to buy. I am now a drugstore.com buyer. I gave the store three chances. I also respectively commented/complained to the manager and he was rude and defensive. Don't shop there. If you need medicine go to The Medicine Shoppe in Petaluma, they are wonderful attentive nice people and if you need other items avoid CVS, they suck. I have a lot of patience for service at a pharmacy if it's good service. It is afterall medication and would never rush the process, however slow it goes. What I do have a problem with is rudeness and child like behavior from their staff pharmacist named Paul. He is belittling, talks down to people and oddly for whatever reason thinks very highly of himself. When he can't take the heat he runs out and smokes. If its nicotine withdrawl that makes him such a rude peson then smack on a patch and grow some patience and get over his god complex. Walgreens in Cotati is unfortunately out of my way but everyone is so nice and sweet it is worth the drive. How sad I have to drive from petaluma to walgreens for a good pharmacy with great customer service. I don't know where Cvs finds these people, but its not just the phamacy its the whole store. Not one person knew where anything was or what it was that we were actually looking for. Last week we were loooking for a kids/toddler pool for the backyard. The checker said what is that? I don't know, then mumbled no check toysrus. What a waste of time, but not anymore. I've checked Cvs off of my list of anything I would ever need and will never waste my time there. There is something seriously wrong with this pharmacy. Every time I go in optimistic that my prescription has been filled and is waiting for me, and oh so often I am sucked into a black hole of screw ups. As much as the devil on my shoulder wants to bite off the head of the clerk, I can't do it. Usually because the person in front of me just finished chewing them out but also they are genuinely nice folks, always apologetic for the latest reason my meds have not been filled correctly. And they seem to work hard, they look like chickens running around with their heads cut off behind the counter. This just leads me to one conclusion....the system must be broken. Something needs to be fixed. CVS, do you hear me? Help them! In the meantime, I'll be patently waiting for Target to be built so the day they open their doors, all my percripts will be transferred over. I'm hoping they are more organized. Sigh. read more

I have criticized this store in several reviews in the past for being a sub standard pharmacy. I encountered delays, misunderstandings, wrong medicine, long lines, etc. I actually dreaded having to pick up prescriptions, wondering what new glitch I would have to encounter. But for over a year now I've experienced consistently good, reliable, friendly service. I have no complaints. Based on my experience this last year, things have taken a turn for the better. I must share that there are a couple of folks at the CVS Pharmacy who today changed my "mind" about their service. I am one of those "displaced folks" and needed an emergency refill on my diabetes supplies including "insulin" and the young man who helped me today and the Pharmacist were "awesome". I have been trying for a couple of days to get some help and today these folks came through. I wish I had their names, they know who they are. I did have a little bit of intervention from Sutter Health in Novato but it was these folks who I feel made my life easier during this very difficult time for many of us. read more

I moved to Petaluma a year and a half ago and picked this pharmacy only because it was closest to my apartment. I got lucky because i have a lot of complicated prescriptions plus complicated insurance, and they have gone the extra mile to accommodate me. Not only that, but everyone in the pharmacy department is always nice to me even though i make extra work for them with all my complications. I love 'em. read more

This WAS the worst pharmacy ever. My husband and I have been coming here for a while and almost gave up. It seemed like every time we came there was a problem. One time one of the employees made a mistake involving the insurance and a very expensive and much needed medication. I ended up having to pay them the last penny I had to buy a few pills for my husband so he wouldn't have to suffer. After they ran out I came back to see if they solved the problem. So my husband had to suffer. I came back a few days later and they said oops we made a mistake, it IS covered by your insurance, here ya go! I tried many times to get my money back with no luck. I gave up. Since then they have gotten some new employees including a new pharmacist. Since he has been there I've picked up a few prescriptions and never had to wait more than 5 minutes! Before, when they said 10 minutes it meant at least an hour. They are definitely getting better. I hope this continues... I'll give them more stars. read more

The pharmacy is terrible. I left once and took my business to Medicine Shoppe. They folded and sent their customers to CVS! I tried again with the same poor results. They get Rx's wrong. The Rx's aren't ready when they're supposed to be, even when I've called them in one or two days ahead. They've been the only game in town until now. CVS pharmacy customer service stinks! I knew there was a reason why I always go to Safeway pharmacy. Unfortunately, there was an error and my medication did not come in the shipment it was supposed to today and the pharmacist at Safeway reordered it and told me it wouldn't be in until the following Tuesday. Eeek! I can't wait that long. I am out as of tomorrow! So, I call CVS to see if they have my medication in stock, before I make the painful car trip to Safeway to pick up my prescription then over to CVS. The lady on the phone asks me where I am calling from and I reply, "my home" lol. She says, "Oh, we cannot give out stock information over the phone." So I explain my whole situation about Safeway, how it didn't come in today and how it won't be here until Tuesday and I need it now...yadayadayada. I get the same response from her, only with an "I'm sorry" at the beginning of this one. She has to be a robot. So, I said, "So, I need drive to Safeway, pick up my prescription then drive over to CVS to find out you don't have it?" SAME RESPONSE! That's it-- She is definitely a robot! I called my Safeway pharmacy and told them what happened and they couldn't believe it. She told me she would handle it and call me back. Still waiting for a call back. I'll bet you CVS didn't have it and Lisa at Safeway is calling other pharmacies hunting it down for me. That's the awesome customer service you get from Safeway, NOT CVS. I just came from CVS and I tried to print a few photos and was unable to get the photos because the ribbon cartridge was out of ink and there was no one there who knew how to change it. I think it is pointless to be open 24 hours when you can't print photos in the self serve kiosk. Someone should have changed the cartridge before leaving last night if they are not going to have any staff until 9 AM. who knows anything about the machines. I'm rather frustrated! read more

You might want to be careful when having your prescriptions filled at CVS. I used to use them but have changed to another pharmacy. I take medication for my thyroid daily. I picked up my prescription as usual, and began taking the new bottle. The pills were a different color, but you know how pharmacies change manufacturers so I didn't think anything more of it. I took the pills for a couple of days and each day I began feeling light headed, almost like I was in another world. I took the pills back to the pharmacy and asked them to check the pills in the bottle. The man behind the counter said "oh, those are just a generic brand of your medication". I knew I had always been taking the generic brand so I asked them to check them out. The man took them out of the bottle and got a funny look on his face. He took them in the back so that I could not see them and then a manager went back with him. He brought my bottle back and said "here you go ma'am." I had to ask him what I had been taking and he sheepishly told me that it was Ambien. I asked him if he had planned on telling me and he just shrugged his shoulders. Ambien is not just any medication, it is a very dangerous chemical and they just blew it off. Do you think that the family of the person I might have killed while I was driving would have cared whether or not I knew I was taking Ambien? Do you think that a police officer would believe that I didn't know that I was taking it? I doubt it. Even though nothing happened, there was a good possibility that something might have if I hadn't gone back to have the pills checked. My sister works at a doctor's office where the part time nurse also works in the pharmacy at CVS and told me that they make these mistakes all the time. I called the corporate office and wanted to speak to Mr. Thomas Ryan who is CEO of CVS. He wouldn't speak to me but had his admin call me. Talking down to me she said "what can we do for you?" I said I wanted to speak to Mr. Ryan but he wouldn't take a few minutes to talk with me. I decided that word of mouth was the best way I could try to keep this from happening again to someone else. this is a terrible cvs store. they've only had small amounts of the med I needed filled at a time. they have charged me my copayment twice, and made me pay cash for a portion of the med, totalling $40+$76.99+$5. all for a med, which should have cost me $5 for a 90 tab, month supply. i am completely unsure of their capabilities. i've never, in all my years of being on meds, seen anything like this. read more
