I recently had my prescriptions moved to CVS following the closing of the Walgreens I had used for years. On the first occasion I visited the store there was an issue with my prescription, but the issue the second occasion is just DANGEROUS. My doctor prescribed 3 new medications for me, a steroid, an antibiotic, and an inhaler. As i observed the person helping me present me with 5 bags of medication i jokingly told him i am apparently sicker than i thought. I asked him to check the bags again and he assured me that they were all in my name. When I checked the bags I realized that 2 of the bags were for steroids 1 at a higher dosage than the other, on further examination I realized that the higher dose bag was the old prescription from the 1st time i had filled my prescription there. I said to him that that was the prescription which I purchased the week before. I checked the label and the date file was 6/16/25. When I got home i crosschecked the medication I received to ensure that they were consistent with the doctor's discharge note and discovered that one of the bags was for an antibiotic which I had purchased the week before. Can you imagine the harmful impact of taking double the prescribed dosage of a steroid and an antibiotic at the same time. I don't know who one would report this to, but i advise everyone to be alert. read more

I went to this CVS pharmacy to buy a antihistamine. Had some questions. I stood at the counter waiting; there was no one else waiting with me. A man was right in front of me putting paper in the cash register. He did not look at me. I said, 'excuse me, am I standing in the right place to be waited on?' He looked at me with a blank expression. He said, 'yes.' No smile. No 'can I help you?' He just stared at me with a blank face. So I asked my questions, he answered. He rang up my antihistamine. The whole transaction was with a blank, at times unfriendly demeanor. It was really uncomfortable. What kind of customer service is this?? This guy was mean. Nothing professional about this. There seemed to be something ? about me that he did not like. I smiled, I tried to be friendly. What is this? Was this a pharmacist, I wonder. Terrible. Looking at the reviews it seems this guy is trying to live up to the reputation of the pharmacy staff. Someone in charge should take control of this behavior. What ever the cause of it, it is really gives one a terrible feeling when someone stares at you with blankness, at times with what feels like hatred, because you are asking to buy a antihistamine. I give the staff at this location high marks. Very friendly and pleasant (I can't say that about all the CVS locations I've been to). The pharmacy staff is good to work with, in fact I got my flu shot recently at this location. Basically no wait. My only complaint, and why this is 4, not 5, stars, and I think this is a company-wide issue, is that this location does not have a drug disposal program, where you can drop off unused or expired meds for safe disposal. I understand that the Rite Aid in Roxborough has recently put in such a program. C'mon CVS, step up to it! You gonna sell 'em, then get prepared to take them back! read more

DO NOT ENTER THIS STORE UNLESS YOU ARE A MASOCHIST WHO WANTS TO BE VERBALLY ABUSED AND LIED TO. If verbal abuse is not enough, perhaps you could also trip over all the boxes that block the aisles and incur physical injuries as well. If you dare to enter, avoid the surly cashier named Mel and the young man who is a "manager". They both must have studied up on how to be both incredibly nasty and woefully incompetent at the same time. I've been insulted by them in ways that they must sit around and think up. I've been basically told that I'm too old to know how to use an app. I was told when I tried to explain something to Mel that she "couldn't think up any way that I could possibly be right". I was told that I've "never been seen in the store before" by the cocky manager even though I was standing right in front of a very kind cashier there named Juanita with whom my daughter and I regularly exchange pleasantries. The young manager and Mel have told me things that are patently untrue according to corporate. They quote as CVS policy things that they simply dream up to make customers miserable. I could go on but I don't wish to be boring. I didn't write a review last time when I was mistreated because the regional manager said that he would speak to them and gave me equal extra bucks for the $10.00 off that they wouldn't honor before. He told me that he was going to speak to them. I let the matter go. I went back today to use the $10.00 extra bucks that I got. There was a bar code to scan or a coupon code for the cashier to enter. Unfortunately Mel from Hell was at the register. I was told that it was "policy" that coupons on phones couldn't be used and that I had to go somewhere and print it out. I didn't mention the previous incident and was polite. As soon as I was back in my car, I called corporate again and after being put on hold, I was told to go back in the store to show the coupon on my phone to a manager called Jessica who has always been pleasant because it should have been honored. She gave me $10.00 in cash back. Imagine getting $10.00 store credit because you were mistreated, insulted and lied to and then you are told you can't use it and are lied to again and quoted yet again a fictitious CVS by the person who mistreated you in the first place. It boggles the mind. I already knew that I shouldn't use the pharmacy at this location because of previous horrific experience. For all fellow Yelpers who have written of their horrendous experiences at this location, I suggest that you switch over to the Acme at Sedgwick Street. The pharmacists are respectful and go above and beyond to help and they have free delivery. read more

Waited thirty (30) minutes just for them to tell me my prescription wasn't Calais. No curtesy call for me to contact my healthcare provider, no text, no nothing. Absolute waste of space, horrible staff, they deserve to lose their pharmacy license. read more

I give 2 stars for several reasons. 1. Parking is limited. I have never been able to park in their lot and always end up parking a block away. 2. It's over crowded. Everyone in chestnut hill and my airy uses this pharmacy. I have never had a wait time less than 30 minutes. 3. The pharmacy workers are very rude and not helpful. I'd suggest going down the block to the local pharmacy- Chestnut Hill Pharmacy. They are much more kind, friendly, and helpful. Never have to wait in line either! read more

I have not experienced the long wait at the pharmacy, I always call ahead and they give me an approximate time and they are usually on point, give or take a couple minutes. The staff throughout the store is always friendly and helpful. The only complaint I'd have is there always seems to be cartons in the aisles when they are restocking the shelves and with a stroller it's not very easy to get through, but all in all i like this store. read more

Horrible. This CVS is the closest one to my home so I dealt with them alot after during my almost 8 years in Philadelphia. I have finally learned to always avoid this place like the plague. Pharmacy staff are liars, rude unprofessional and incompitent. I am unfortunatlely someone who has suffered various medical problems which required alot of prescription medication. The Staff does not know how to process discount coupons which have been quickly processed at other pharmacy chains ( i.e walgreens ) and other CVS locations and on one occasion told me that I had to choose between insurance or a coupon even though the coupon was designed to be used with insurance either because they did not know how to process it or did not want to. On another ocassion I came to pick up a prescription - I was the only one at the counter and they did not notice me for about 30 seconds and one of the pharmacy techs loudly yelled out " woah he scared the s*** out of me " I moved away to Pittsburgh for about 2 years for work and then came back to philly and decided to give them another chance. the final straw was the first time I tried to fill here again I requested a specific brand of the medication. the person on the phone told me they had it and would make sure they would let the person filling it know what brand i wanted. When I got there. I noticed that they filled it with the brand i did NOT want and told them. At that time the person told me they " did not have it in stock " and when I informed her that i was told by someone on the phone that they did have it and would make sure I recieved it the tech rolled her eyes and mumbled something under her breath and immediatly grabbed the proper thing off the shelf and rudly said to me " you can have a seat it will be 15 minutes " . I will never set foot in here again read more

I've been shopping here for years but I recently stopped going because of a recent incident. A young (millennial) cashier was glued to her cell phone while I waited next in line for her to even acknowledge me standing there. Then had the audacity to say "Sorry I was distracted". Who says that?!?!? She was still glued to her phone when she asked "Do you need a bag?" It took EVERYTHING in me not to say "No I want to carry my supersize box of Super Plus Kotex tampons outside for the whole world to see. These new younger disrespectful employees are going to be the death of many businesses as more consumers are shopping online now. read more

Slowest pharmacy ever! I've lived in various locations, and for that reason, I've had to transfer to different pharmacies. In this case, I'm transferring my medications to the Chestnut HIll pharmacy up the street. Never, have I ever spent so much time waiting for medications (after pre-ordering over the phone or online). I called in a couple of medications, came to pick it up at the time they told me to and they hadn't put it in yet. Next, I tried to fill online and was given a digital time of 10am. I came in to get my medication a whole two hours later than the time they said it would be filled, and, surprise, surprise, they hadn't filled it yet. I overheard they did the exact same thing to the poor elderly gentlemen who was in front of me (after we both had been standing in line for likely well over 10 minutes). I went so far as to call and file a complaint with their corporate headquarters, and they seemed to be concerned about the situation and to take it seriously, but, after that, I filled another medication online (one that I would need to wait 2 days for to have it filled), I come in an hour after the time they stated it would be ready, and guess what? Not filled yet. It's not like I come in at peak hours either. While I'm here, and on a roll, I'd also like to complain about their automated phone service. You know, the robo-voice that calls you twice a day to harass you about your need to refill something? This service might be great for an Alzheimer's patient who needs a cue to remember their meds, but I'd like to think the rest of us can do that on our own. I've called in many times to get them to stop, but they keep re-activating it with every new medication, so then I have to call in to get it to stop, yet again, and again. I think they now make you call their headquarters to have your phone number removed from the list, and I did that...so far, no more calls, but who knows if that'll last. I'm not sticking around to find out. I'm so done with that place and I'm going to avoid CVS for as long as I possibly can for the rest of my days. To their credit, the customer service is friendly, but they don't have nearly enough chairs set up for the usual line of people waiting around for their scripts to be filled. I hope they get their act together for the sake of all those elderly people I've seen who've had to stand in line for so long. read more

I've been in quite a vew CVSs, and this is one of the best. The store is small but well stocked and well organized. The staff is always helpful and generally attentive. Kudos, especially, to the pharmacy staff. They have always taken the time to efficiently take care of any issues I've had (and I've had some medical concerns). The store can be crowded, and the line at the pharmacy can be longish, but I've learned to time things so that I'm not there in the busiest times. Several independent pharmacies have opened in my area recently. I always like to support new businesses, but I can't bring myself to go anywhere but here. Good job, CVS! read more

Gets one star cause you can't go lower! The WORST pharmacy in existence. Be prepared to find no place to park and at least an hour wait in line no matter when you go. The rudest people work there and they violate every HIPPA law possible. I only live 2 blocks away but I transferred all of my family's scripts outta there and go there for nothing!! This review is primarily based on experiences at the pharmacy. There is always a long line at the pharmacy, no matter what day or time of day. They give you time estimates on when your prescriptions will be ready, but it's always longer. The people that work in the pharmacy are nice, but it doesn't make up for the long waits. The parking lot can also be full at times too. read more

Pretty predictable, but sometimes predictable is good - especially when you need cold remedies, prescriptions filled, toiletries, etc. Having Staples next door does mean you can comparison shop on some office items. They don't have an ATM like most CVS', and they don't do cash back at the register. However, they're right on the 22 line, if you're on foot. read more

If I could give less than one star I would. The parking lot is awful to begin with. If you have to pick up a prescription be prepared to stand in line and waste at least 30-45 minutes of your life to be told they only filled one and don't have 2 of the other three. Doesn't matter if it's pain medicine, blood thinners, birth control. They are understaffed and have one person at the pharmacy register the line extends halfway or more down the aisle. There are about two dirty seats to wait in even though many customers are sick and elderly. They won't call other stores to check for stock because they "we're not supposed to do that." I worked at cvs before nursing school and unless things have changed, it's a lie. I watched a young man have a grand mal seizure while waiting for his medication and none of the employees acknowledged it or offered to call 911. If anything they rolled their eyes and sighed like it was a huge annoyance to them. Eventually the pharmacist walked around with a 6 pack of paper towels to hand to me. What was I supposed to do with that?! She told me in case he needs a pillow. I hate this pharmacy I hope it shuts down. It's a dump. read more

This pharmacy sets a new standard for incompetence. Prescription turned in at 3PM, told to return in 1 hour arrived at 7:00 PM not ready, told to wait, 45 minutes pass, and nothing. I finally ask what's going on and they can't find the prescription. To add insult to injury a prescription that has been filled numerous times for the copay is said to not be covered. They are rude, condescending, and incompetent. I will never do business with them again! read more

This CVS has the least competent, most poorly run pharmacy I have ever experienced. Numerous times I have called in a prescription, checked to see and confirmed that it's come in, only to be told upon arrival that they (at best) would not be ready for several hours or (at worst) did not receive the Rx. Today was the last straw, as they screwed up an Rx that is about to run out: my doctor phoned in the Rx two weeks ago, I followed up with a call to request ordering the medication from a particular manufacturer, was assured all was well -- and today, no record of any transaction. read more

My vet called in medication for my dog at 5 p.m. I arrived at the store at 6:40 to pick it up. The pharmacy closes at 7 p.m. When my turn came, the pharmacist told me it was too late to fill it - gave me a real "too bad" attitude and told me to come back the next day. He also sent a woman on crutches away telling her it was too late to get her medicine. My problem is that I thought pharmacists were professionals - not hourly workers. It's the equivalent of leaving a client in court because the lawyer is done at "x" hour. Actually it's worse - this involves medicine and issues of health. The manager of the store was lovely but explained they have nothing to do with the pharmacy management and gave me the number to call. Of course after going through several push button menus I was told to call back on Monday. read more

This CVS is magical. I am always receiving great coupons and cash back after showing my CVS card. I can usually find what I need in there, and the staff is always friendly and courteous. Very convenient that it is near to the pediatrician's office. read more
