Every time I drive by this Wawa, I'm amazed at how they're still in business. They've been here for YEARS. This particular location is a pain in the caboose to get to, as it is located at a slightly odd road intersection, and has a cramped parking lot. The fact that they're full of groggy folks in the morning hunting for their daily (coffee) fix doesn't help matters. But hey, it's not like we spend quality time here! We stopped in so our friend could get a few bags of ice and a coffee, the line was thankfully short, the cashier was nice and processed our order in a snap, and we were out of there in less than five minutes. Beware of the Wawa on Belmont near the Schylkill! I stopped to pick up lunch three weeks ago, and the food preparer had his mask below his nose. I informed the preparer and a cashier, who rolled his eyes. So, I called Wawa's corporate office and lodged a complaint. I was told they would review masking requirements with their employees. Last week, I stopped at the same Wawa for coffee, and one food preparer had his mask below his nose while two other preparers had their masks below their chines. Last week there were 100,000 new emergency admissions for COVID in the US. Philadelphia is a Philadelphia at high risk of community transmission. There have been ~288,000 diagnosed COVID cases, and 4,359 COVID related deaths. I find it totally unacceptable for people to not wear or improperly wear masks, especially these people who were preparing food. I called Wawa Corporate again and was told they would address the issue. I guess time will tell, but, in the interim, you may want to avoid the Wawa at Belmont in Bala Cynwyd/Belmont Hills. read more

This is possibly the worst Wawa I have ever been to. First, the parking here is awful. The lot can possibly fit 10 cars. The spots are so tight too. Once inside, you know you have made a mistake. Gross green floors, an awful smell and the sight of a group of people huddled together scratching off lottery tickets. The food options here are fine, but the hot and cold food options are limited. For the custom-made food options, they have newly installed screens, but the positives stop there. They did not actually have the blender out so it took a while to make my smoothie. The smoothie did not taste very good either. The staff here is not very good either. One lady was not in uniform while another was handling lottery tickets with a customer behind the counter. One lady was on her phone. Kevin was the only positive. He made my food fast and was friendly. I will not return. read more

Horrible. An embarassment for the Wawa brand. Food preparers at this location are undertrained, and clearly management does not care. Mac and Cheese orders result in a disgusting liquid soup with some overcooked pasta in it. Breakfast burritos are an inch long. Hoagies have the wrong amounts of meat in them. Supervision and quality are garbage here, a night and day difference from other locations - even relative to the Wawa a block over. Parking is a nightmare. The location of the parking spots relative to the street results in the optimal number of cars blocking traffic around the Wawa, as well as the maximum number of cars occupying more than their own spot, or simply parking illegally in non-spots. There is a closed gas station across the street, just buy that and use it as a parking lot already. Beverage selection is cramped because of the limited number of refrigerators in this location. They don't carry a reasonable selection of Gatorades, especially the low-sugar variety. Shelves are frequently left unstocked, with cans that belong on other shelves pushed to the front to make the fridge look full - but in reality there are whole categories of beverage that have not been restocked. Air conditioning at this Wawa has been broken for years. When the weather warms up, this location rolls in rented air conditioners on wheels, making the whole place look like a construction zone, and probably passing clean air through dirty air conditioners right over the exposed food. This wawa benefits from having a very good location on a busy feeder road nearby a highway. But it's franchisees basically treat it like an ATM, and they invest NOTHING in it. The place is dirty and beaten up. Garbage cans are covered with slime from old soda spills. There isn't even a bathroom for patrons, like there are in MANY other wawas - not just the huge super wawas. If it was cleaned up, if parking was fixed, and if the management was fired and replaced, this place could be making double or triple its current revenue. Instead, the neighborhood suffers with this disgusting eyesore. read more

I've gone to Wawa my entire life. This is without a doubt the worst one I've been to. I've never had issues with Wawa making the food correctly at any other place. This place gets it wrong more than they get it right. I got a BLT club then paid to add additional bacon and it came with none. Yes, they made me an extra B LT with 0 Bacon. How??? You know all those places you frequent on a regular basis but have never reviewed? This Wawa is one of mine. I even started thinking about my review on my drive to the store. Today's experience actually pushed my rating up a notch. I stopped in over lunch to pick up sandwiches for dinner since I won't have time to get dinner later. One of the sandwiches was an extremely special order: basically everything but the meat on the side in order to keep it from getting soggy. The touchscreen didn't have an option for everything on the side so I asked one of the deli associates how to proceed. Daniel came around to the front of the screen and walked me through the entire process, and then personally took care of making my sandwiches and getting all of my sides packaged up. He was friendly and helpful the entire time. His customer service went above and beyond my expectations from any Wawa employee. This smaller than average Wawa is standard in terms of inventory and cleanliness; however it has a notoriously awful parking lot. It's so bad that it recently made a list of bad parking lots. You need to fear for your life as you attempt to avoid backing out into the oncoming traffic on Belmont Ave. It's really a pain in the neck to get in and out of this lot. In any case, Daniel was awesome and as long as they keep making good hoagies, I'll be back. read more

I got a chicken parm here and THERE WAS A DEAD BIRD IN MY SANDWICH. Still decent though. One of the still-standing, smaller Wawas. Recently, I had to wait 21 minutes for them to make my hoagie on a busy night. I understand them being busy -- I don't understand them taking their sweet time when they're busy, and adding sandwich toppings at a snail's pace. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt though that it's late and they're tired and these guys could very well have another job. I've never had a problem parking, except that people don't seem to notice the lot to the right of the store is there and will block the driveway. Back into your spot, and you will make your life a lot easier. I recommend mixing 1 part hot cocoa with *almost* two parts Colombian coffee, and topping off with light cream. You won't need to put in any extra sugar. read more

This is my go to wawa... Despite the nightmarish parking the staff is always super friendly, they keep up on the coffee and the deli is much better than the other wawas. Darlene is probably my candidate for wawa employee of the century. read more

I asked him where was the cook he said taking out trash ask was he tired he start getting disrespectful.. he was upset and told me to go to the one down the street !! I ordered two Panini's and I ordered them both with avocados on them and paid an extra $.70 for both of the Panini's and there are no avocados on my Panini's. I am very upset because I am a broke college student who just lost money just because you guys didn't put avocados on my Paninis. How upsetting! I am sad now. read more

I ordered on Grubhub at 9:16pm. Then, no phone call or anything, I learn via Grubhub that they cancelled the order. Really ridiculous. To this day, there hasn't been a Wawa that has disappointed me. I hope I didn't just jinx that... I've been to this location a couple times, and as others have said, the parking situation really sucks! But given that you've been able to snatch up a spot, Wawa staff all around are just incredibly friendly and to me, the food just never disappoints. This Wawa holds up that standard well. There were some bumps in the road this evening when I went to order the glorious Globber and a side of Mac and cheese: the kiosk systems were wacky because the orders weren't showing up for the workers & they ran out of stuffing. TT TT But let's be honest, these are 1st world problems. No big deal. Life goes on. ESPECIALLY when the staff go out of their way to apologize and do their best to make it up to you. Fortunately, they weren't busy when I was there so the workers could ask around to see what people ordered. They were incredibly sincere and sweet. I can't praise their attitude enough...and to top it off, my sandwich (minus stuffing) + Mac & cheese (got a little extra to make up for the missed stuffing) were on point! It is small, even by Wawa standards, but it is conveniently located just off of the Schuykill (I-76). It's all about location, location. It's what draws me to this store. The aforementioned parking situation (i.e., a strip of parking spots in front of the store) and the difficulty of getting in and out of the parking strip keeps me from coming here more often, but it doesn't appear to deter a lot of people. It's hopping here in the mornings always. If you "gotta have your Wawa," nothing's going to stop you, eh? The good news is that they get you checked out very quickly. being from philly i know that everyone has their favorite hoagie joint but i have to admit that i factor in alot of other things when deciding where ill grab one from. very high on the list is the freshness of ingredients and the staff's attention to detail and hygiene and very few places can compete with wawa in these categories. one would have to assume that because of their corporate structure they have no choice but to adhere to higher standards than the average mom and pop sandwich joint. the employees always wear gloves when preparing food and the meats and veggies are always cooled to perfection and these things are paramount (to me) when i want a hoagie. the worst thing in the world is to watch someone prepare your food barehanded while they touch money and/or anything else that could transmit grime or bacteria on to your food. this is where wawa excels. they also excel in the ordering process with their super easy to navigate touch screens. they make life so much easier for both customers and employees. while i must admit that making a sandwich is an art and some people are better at it than others, for the most part, wawa gets it right. my only real complaint about this location is the lack of parking. they have a very small strip out front that accomodates maybe 8 cars and during peak hours or even very late at night its a nightmare parking here. there just arent enough spaces. aside from that this is one of my preferred wawas. read more
