I went to fill a prescription that I have been filling there for the last 15 weeks and Maria. The pharmacist was very rude and stated that they weren't gonna fill it without a prior insurance authorization. I told her that I would bypass my insurance and pay cash like I have been doing for the last 15 weeks and she stated that it was a violation of CVS policy to allow me to pay cash and bypass insurance. I explained that it was my legal right to pay cash for my medication and not my insurance and she stated that CVS policy supersedes Federal law. I recorded the conversation. I have called CVS customer service and the executive pharmacist. Steven returned my call and said they were going to escalate it. I will be without medication starting tomorrow. I will no longer use this Pharmacy. I will find a mom and Pop local pharmacy and start using them for my medication. When a pharmacist tells you that policy supersedes law, there is a legal issue. They filled the wrong prescription i picked it up at the drive thru window and didn't realize until i got home that it was the wrong prescrition (one that had been cancelled by my doctor). When i finally got through on the phone to a real person, she was rude and kept repeating that i could not return it. She claimed shw was the manager - which I doubt. This pharmacy is completely careless, unprofessional & by far the worst manager I ever spoke with here is SARAH. They have contracts with 3rd parties delivery app & have no clue how to fulfill orders for their customers & will input incorrect customer orders. When you bring this to her attention, she'll hang up on you when asking for the correct ID number for the customers order. The customer also stated she is a nurse and the pharmacist Sarah clearly violated HIPAA violations. Regardless, do everything you can to not place your prescription orders at this location clearly they don't admit to their mistakes and will hang up on you when trying to fix them in the middle of a prescription order on a customers phone! read more

I went to the pharmacy here to get the flu and Covid vaccines. The pharmacist was *extremely* pushy about my getting additional vaccines. I said "no" at least 3 times before he finally wore me down. One vaccine he wanted me to get was the Shingles vaccine; when I told him I'd heard from multiple people that it had pretty bad side effects (so I didn't want to combine it with other vaccines) he told me he had never heard that before. I think he was straight-up lying. I ended up getting that one, in addition to the 2 I was planning to get and, sure enough, I felt like total crap for 2 days. Still, I figured he at least did all of that because it was in my best interest. I later found out that CVS gives cash incentives to pharmacy employees for every vaccine they give. I find it incredibly distrusting that a health care professional is this pushy about customers' personal health decisions based on a cash incentive. I will never go to this pharmacy again. read more

I pretty much only ever shop exclusively for convenience items and pharmacy items at CVS, even though I am well aware their prices are higher than big box stores, it's for the convenience factor that we have to pay more here. The name itself lends you to believe it's priced to be of value, but that's their own opinion of value. This is a nicely organized store, it's big. Oddly situated by 13 Mile and Coolidge. The store is the same setup mostly as all CVS. It's easy to find what I am looking for, be it beauty products, some food essentials, greeting cards or vitamins. Do not come here because the are a 24 hour pharmacy. You will wait hours. Staff does not answer the phone. Staff completely ignored the drive thru for 45 minutes, to the point where I had to come in. I then joined a 10+ person line to wait for 30 more minutes to be told to get back in line as it will be 45 more minutes. Please. This review is strictly for the pharmacy. I've been going to Walgreens for prescriptions for the last 5 years. Recently, I went to urgent care and they sent my prescription to this CVS location on accident. I was annoyed but that quickly went away after having a really good experience here. Without ever having been to this CVS before they somehow figured out my insurance information before I ever got there. In fact, I was still in the car on the way back from urgent care when they called to say my script was ready! That NEVER happens with Walgreens, it's typically hours until they are ready, so what a pleasant surprise. Their prices were actually cheaper than Walgreens and their employees were very kind and answered my questions about the new medications easily. I think I will be switching to CVS in the future. read more

Wow. Do I ever love waiting an hour in the parking lot and the pharmacy area for a simple prescription! It's fun to show up on time to have some hipster pharmacist too bad, they're busy. People are lined up ten back, they're going through the drive through to get attention faster. Unless you have no other option, avoid this site like the plague. They waste your time and it is impossible to get attention. Expedited apparently means a damn hour and more of change. I've heard of only about twenty people called, and frustrated parents waiting for medicine for tired kids. We are hungry. We want to go home. This is worse than the border crossing. read more

The pharmacist Rafid was callous and uninterested in patient welfare. I asked if they could put a rush on some medication for a food allergy and he said no because he was too busy. He should have come to tell me in person and even advised I go to the hospital if needed, but he didn't. Then he was ringing up a whole cart of groceries when I went to check on the status of my prescription. Without checking, he said it was not ready, but the compassionate pharmacy tech thankfully interjected and said she did her part and it was only his approval that was pending. He seemed to care less for how I was feeling. The only good thing about this pharmacy besides the caring pharmacy tech is that it is open 24 hours. read more

I go in an hour later and the pharmacy is packed with only one guy working on everything. WTF? Seriously? I know it's COVID and everything, but you can find people to work if you pay them. To whom it may concern, I wish to make it known that on Dec 21st I had the misfortune of dealing with the rudest Pharmacy Tech ever. I was given a prescription and tried to fill it on Tuesday I was told by the clinic that issued the paperwork I had everything I needed. The Pharmacy Tech (Young/Caucasian/ Female) said they needed more info. I was forced to drive back to the clinic which was not near CVS. Once once again I was told that all the information was written with the prescription she asked me to have the CVS pharmacy tech call if there were any problems. At this point I have wasted approximately an hour and a half or something that should've taken five minutes if at all possible please retrain your pharmacy techs in filling Workmen's Compensation claims I was forced to go back to the original clinic and turn in my prescription there this was a very time consuming situation and it became personal I'm afraid between CVS and the clinic that issued prescription I was able to rest myself from the situation get my prescription filled at the clinic forcing me to drive back one more time and at this point I'm hoping that your tech can learn how to deal with workmen compensation compensation claims instead of putting on the client thank you very much and have a nice day on read more

Brought in a prescription from Beaumont across the street. I don't live in the area and had critical psych medications to be filled. I was told 2 hours. I returned 2 hours later and my scripts were clearly forgotten as they seemed surprised and found them right were they put them before. They then told me no problem 20 minutes. I waited again for 20 minutes came back in and then was told they didn't have time to do them tonight. 6 hours before they closed. I will fill them tomorrow where I live but they wasted 3 hours of my time waiting around in an area I don't live in. This after spending the day in the ER. Staff doesn't care and is lazy. Bottom line. Just tell me you don't want to do it and I could of taken it elsewhere but after wasting so much of my time all other pharmacies where closed. Ridiculous read more

This is primarily for the pharmacy. Since we moved to Royal Oak over 2 years ago, this has been my pharmacy. They are always nice, always fast, and efficient. Even when I call into the automated line for a refill, they have it ready in less than the hour that is required when you call it in that way. Obviously, this is a busy CVS since it's on the corner of 13/Woodward/Coolidge intersections. The store is kept pretty clean & well stocked. They seem to keep the lines down to a minimum. read more

The customer service has gotten MUCH better than when it first opened a few years ago (when I would drive up to the 14/Crooks location instead of dealing with surly teenagers behind the registers). I don't use their pharmacy, though, and still go to the Walgreens across the street for that (long story why). Other than that, I l like this store. read more

My go-to pharmacy. I like that it's just up the road from me, and it's 24 hours. Amber, Doug & Steve are the best pharmacists there! They always remember who I am, ask how I'm doing, and how work is going. I love their rewards program, and I am always able to save a good amount of money when I shop there. They were amazingly kind and helpful when my wallet fell out of my pocket into the parking lot, and I drove off without it. They called me to let me know they'd found it! Waiting a half hour in the second drivethru. After another car pulled up and was serviced while we sat there and waited, we hit the call button only for the pharmacist to tell us the second drive thru was closed. The sign clearly said both drive thrus were open. We went inside to get our medication and after asking why he couldn't just simply tell us as we sat and waited for a half hour with no sign, he made excuses. A simple apology goes a long way. Went into CVS to have a prescription filled as I have had an account with CVS Speciality pharmacy for cancer drugs. The new prescription was not for cancer medication but rather pain medication. The pharmacist told me they did not have the medication and would not order it. He told me to go to another pharmacy. I asked could he order the drugs and he said he could only dispense 16 or 18 tablets and was not willing to discuss ordering. My prescription from Beaumont Hospital was for pain medication as I have 4th degree cancer with no cure. No concern for my situation, not willing to discuss and just ignored any further discussion. I will never return to this store. I can understand if the pharmacy did not have the medication but to out and out refuse to order and with an attitude is not acceptable. Good luck dealing with this pharmacist. Would have given the store 0 stars if I could. read more

This place is garbage. Ive been in twice and simply told "were out" and given my prescription back. And they won't order it and call me. So I just have to guess? Is that what I'm suppose to do? I don't typically rate pharmacies, but Pharmacist Doug (hilarious! Excellent personality!) Pharmacist Amber, she a nice girl, always makes sure to ask how me and the girlfriend are doing. But tonight a 'floater' young Pharmacist by the name of Gregory Bungart was by far the most compassionate, attentive, educated and professional of the bunch yet. He took time to discuss my situation over the phone in detail, without rushing me off. And when I went in to fill it, he extended the same friendly and professional care. This is how all CVS pharmacies should be ran and I can assure you, they are not for the most part, sadly. Good job team and Greg. Keep up the good work. read more

When I talk to the pharmacist on the phone they are completely pleasant and helpful. The other staff that helps out though.... rude and condescending when they are talking. She told me to show up at six pm for my script and when I did she looked at me rolled her eyes, smirked and said it wasn't ready for another half hour. Multiple times I've had them give me the wrong medication or they ordered the wrong quantity or gave my "special order" prescription to a different patient. Horrible experience. They claimed my insurance did not cover my medication when in fact it does. They claimed I needed prior authorization before my insurance would pay for it when I in fact do not. They lied to me about contacting my doctor to fix the problem. They also attempted to charge me three times the amount I ended up paying at Kroger. I highly advise anyone looking to avoid a strenuous insurance company hassle and who's hoping to get a reasonable price on their medication to steer clear of this place! read more

She will do anything to get them for you if they are in stock(if they are-only saying this because day or two before holiday they might be out of some example I take pain meds due to snowboarding accident and doc gives me Oxycontin 30mg ER-and each holiday-as I mentioned before they don't have them while Walgreen's across never has them) If Victoria is not there talk to male pharmacist again the same and add few words how you heard he is great which he is. Everyone likes compliment especially hes the only guy working there. I realized over some time that it is the best to ask pharmacist directly then go to drop off(there is section for consultation) Store as it self is clean and employees are nice.
