Half way through the line round 2. 2.5 hours later, waiting on a time sensitive drug.

Do not come here because the are a 24 hour pharmacy. You will wait hours. Staff does not answer the phone. Staff completely ignored the drive thru for 45 minutes, to the point where I had to come in. I then joined a 10+ person line to wait for 30 more minutes to be told to get back in line as it will be 45 more minutes. Please. If you remotely value your time, do not ever, ever, use this pharmacy.

And so I was back for over a year I think. The general issues didn't change. Understaffed up front. Not all that helpful in the back. This past week, I had trouble getting my continuous glucose monitor. Walgreens was frequently out of stock on an item that is replaced regularly like clockwork. Well 3 weeks ago, when my doctor had it refilled, Walgreen's only filled 15 days out of a 90 day script. When I sought a refill from Walgreen's, they said I first needed a prior authorization. This seemed odd, but it's the first month of the year. So I called my doctor. They said: I still had 5 refills left. Walgreens insisted I still needed a prior authorization. So I called my doctor yet again. And the doctor said they'd call the pharmacy. And the pharmacy was still adamant! Wouldn't fill my glucose sensor. The person on the phone was rude. The prior use of the automated system was difficult if you sought to speak to the pharmacist. Walgreens also said it didn't have my particular sensor in stock. They didn't. Then had to ask them if they'd check other Walgreens (several are fairly close). And they did upon being asked. But the Walgreens they sent me to had only the newer version of my sensor which would require a new script from the doctor. Well - that was enough. Enough was enough. I'd now Bern without my diabetes glucose sensor for a couple days! It's my life they're gambling with. Called CVS across the street. Told them to have all my scripts transferred to them from the Walgreen's across the street. Asked if they had the particular sensor, but that store didn't have it (they only had the newer version too), but said they'd get from another store and have it the next day (it was nearing closing on Saturday). On Sunday, they had my sensor and gave me all 90 days. While I can't know the future with CVS, which some folks complain about) it certainly looks far more promising. Because of Medicare Advantage insurance, I don't know how much business Walgreen's just lost on an annual basis. I have had a whole lot of scripts filled there and previously at RiteAid. Thousands of dollars in value to them? I'd guess so. Note: Rite Aid was often out of my sensor and sometimes out of other drugs I was due. That was quite annoying. I made it a habit to call in the script multiple days early so if it had to be ordered, I'd still get it on time. One huge difference though is that RiteAid was always, very courteous no matter who was there and they always tried hard to help when needed. They were unfortunately often understaffed. But I much preferred RiteAid. So I'm pleased to once again be rid of Walgreens. Hope CVS is good - but the bar is set quite low so I'm sure CVS will at least be an improvement. Should have immediately transferred to RiteAid scripts to CVS. Bye-bye. Thought you readers should know.

The woman pharmacist was wearing black clothing & another woman pharmacy tech was wearing a hijab & a face mask. NOT ONE,of them smiled once while I was there. I watched all 5 people behind the pharmacy counter completely ignore people waiting in line & when they got to the counter, the man did man did not smile or greet the customer with respect. He simply asked for name & birth date with absolutely no emotion as if he was a robot. I was in retail for 35 years & EVERY customer was treated as if our job depended on their satisfaction. I am going to leave CVS because not only are they hiring people who don't fit in to the demographics of their client base but, hiring & promoting rude Muslims is a death sentence. Tell them to smile and act like the customer is the reason they have a job & not because you felt compelled to fulfill your DEI agenda. Let them act as if the Christians that they are serving are the reason they have a job. I was, there for 30 minutes & not one person smiled or said "Thank You". I would love to hear your defence for the disgusting attitude your pharmacy staff has at your Royal Oak pharmacy on 4th Street & Phillips Place.
