Warning: I did have a bad experience with CVS worker before, not at this location, but at the San Jose one. Not sure what happened with the worker that used to work here, she might find a new job or something, but she was nice. Long story short, I went to CVS over a year, and the review is long overdue. Good part: what I likes ( or used to likes) about it is the do carry Nutrogina face wash, which I found very good. I think it is also recommended by dermatologists ( depending on person I think?). They carried some lovely soft caramels candy, plus jelly beans now ( what?). You are a jelly beans fans, and do not like Harry Potter's jelly beans favors? ( even though the bag do have butter corn with it) this place might be for you. Different popular chocolates, including sugar frees, are here. CVS pharmacy is CVS pharmacy, lines move relatively quicks, medicines are seems to be what correct given? ( I could see situations happening...). They still carrying receipts, and honors them I think? Not a usual returning items person so don't take my word for it. Bad parts: please don't expecting it to be the best CVS in town? Since I seem other places are stocks more. It seems like they might have a high turnover over. I have deal with some Asian CVS worker at San Jose location and purposely put wrong phone numbers that I gave to them in the system, or false sign up for something? Have to get managers involved. I didn't like the experience down in San Jose as a shoppers, not even the workers thing. Another locations CVS near Willow Glens didn't give me right medicine before I think? Or something I can't remember. Just remember I got really sick afterward. Not sure why, since one of the workers seems friendly? Long story short, I still think it is a decently good CVS ( I have worse experiences at other locations) based on over one year experience with them. Would recommending people go here, and see how things go with them. read more

I haven't had much enthusiasm in updating my review for this pharmacy since my original, many years ago. Even though I shop here frequently, it's been a series of visits filled with many disappointments and occasional nice surprises. The main reason I still go here, is because they sometimes send me 25% to 30% off coupons on my total purchases, since I'm a CVS rewards member. In the early years, I was able to satisfy my shopping list with little problem. Now, they have drastically cut back on the items I would return almost monthly for! They are either always out of, or no longer carry my favorite Revlon Color Stay foundation, my favorite La Roche-Posay facial moisturizer for oily skin, Hanes Capri Shapers in my size, and certain supplements. It's sad to see empty shelves and a lack of products sitting on said shelves... They still manage to have a variety of merchandise that I might have interest in, but I would rather go to a store and buy everything I need all in one visit! There is nothing more frustrating than having to shop at multiple stores to look for my favorite supplies! I admit, I will most likely return on occasion, because of their generous coupons and the "buy one, get one free" sales! Not to mention my constant need for "over the counter" medications. read more

Why don't CVS pharmacy care about women's health enough to reorder hormone therapy medication for us women that are going through menopause. Your item labeled a higher price but you decided to return a different price saying it's a discount item, and can only return with a discount price, but you still label high price and charge people high price, and return a low price. You asked for my transaction time, to look back at camera just to see if your employee gave me a receipt, but walked away 2 secs later despite the fact that I called you back to proof my time of purchase. Pharmacist recommended me Sudafed PE for severe sinus congestion. Knowing that I had extreme pain in my ear. After speaking with my advice nurse they advised me that the pharmacist should have recommended the Sudafed in the back. This is the exact reason why black women are not being taken serious when it comes to pain management. I am extremely disappointed after being up all night. She didn't think twice to walk me to the or which she knew would have not worked. read more

CVS Pharmacy in Mack Road at South Sacramento opened a few years ago, just before the pandemic. I have never been here until now. The store looks excellent both exterior and interior. The parking lot looks good, but I saw some homeless people in the area! Fortunately, I found parking right at the front entrance. So I went in and got what I wanted and then got out right away! The store looks good, the store inside is spotless, and all items are well displayed. I will love to spend time in the store without worrying about my car. I hope California will fix this issue soon! The Pharmacist in charge name Mandeep was an absolute disrespectful person I have ever met. I explain to him that I came in on Saturday and they told me that they will have the medication ready lat on in the day, I asked them if I can come pick it up on Monday and they said yes. here I'm in line Monday evening trying to pick up my elderly parents prescription and they tell me that it's still not ready. The pharmacist Mandeep came up to the window and was completely rude to me by telling me that I need to wait another 30 to 40 minutes and that it's not his problem because they someone calling in sick today and they're short staffed, afterwards he came back to the window and said what do you want me to do? I explained to him the situation again and he was not wanting to help in anyway just completely rude by telling me it is what it is and then he closed the window and drive up in my face. This is absolute disrespectful and rudest person I have ever met. read more

I've bought 3 pairs of foster grant reading glasses from this location. 2 of the 3 pair have broken beyond repair. The first pair the plastic ear pieces broke apart where they screw into the hinges. The second broke because the post screw on the bridge snapped in half when I attempted to tighten the little nut because they became loose after just one week. They are definitely not worth the money I paid for them, nearly $25 each. My dollar tree plain Jane readers last longer, going on 8 months now. Foster grant can keep their brand name and I'll keep my money. Dollar tree here I come. No pictures of the first pair because I threw them out when they broke. read more

I came in today because they're one of the few stores open on 4th of July. I just needed some tortilla chips. They didn't have the ones we eat, so I decided to buy the Kale & Spinach tortilla chips instead. I knew my husband wouldn't be satisfied with them, so I picked up some Reese's cups for him . There were two people in front of me. When I got to the counter the young lady Tyler was very polite and thanked me for waiting patiently. She told me her mom loved the Kale & Spinach chips. I told I never tasted them and thanks for the tip. She was kind and provided great customer service to me and the other customers. I know this CVS isn't in the best neighborhood but I've been here many times over the past few years and haven't had any issues. It's close by, so I stop in to get little things. I don't use the pharmacy since I have KP, so I cant review that. I love all the coupons and discounts. read more

Very dissatisfied. Came in today in the AM for a Covid shot and they were so rude and unprofessional. Told me that I cannot be seen without an appointment. I asked if I can make an appointment on the scene and they said to go online and make it or to call them? I confirmed that they wanted me to call THEIR LINE instead of TALKING WITH THEM since I was already there. It just made no sense. The clerk agreed and proceeded scheduling me an appointment when the pharmacist (a younger asian female, I wish I got her name) interrupted and told the clerk "just tell her to come at 2". I asked for clarifications why I cannot be seen and she had no response and was very rude and unprofessional. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. Got a Covid shot at Wallmart on Florin in 10 mins. read more

This place is the WORST. They never have your prescriptions ready they only have excuses. I have had 4 refills done here and each time I give them more time. Regardless of how many days in advance you request the refills they are always 20 minutes out. Staff is rude and unsympathetic which shows they are experienced in people complaining. My advise is to have your prescriptions filled at Walfreens or RiteAid. Far better service and nicer staff. read more

My husband went to the pharmacy to pick up an allergy prescription for my baby and they told him it wasn't ready. When I went to pick it up hours later (getting off work early) the counter was closed for lunch so I waited 30 mins in the store. When it did open the front desk looked up my prescription and told me they did not have it in stock. Wasted my time my husbands time. Worst customer service ever!! The pharmacists (Chris, Lynn) have no idea on what they are doing. If your prescription need to be verified or need other documentation such as a TAR, they will simply verbalize and tell you, "you need a TAR" what the hell is that? What the pharmacists need to do is follow up with the provider (doctor who wrote the prescription) and let them know if there is any issues or inform the provider the reason of the hold up. I had the most difficult time obtaining a medication from here and I felt that the pharmacists simply did not want to go through the hassle of filling out a form TAR to get medi-cal to approve. In addition, how can the pharmacists expect to inform a English limit speaking family on what needs to be done before medication can be dispensed? Are you kidding me? The pharmacists they need to directly contact the provider. I have made a complaint to the district manager. Me and my 4 year old son went to the store to get an ice pack and a few household items. He had to use the restroom so we walked around the store 2 times to find a employee and found a middle aged lady with a hijab on her phone. I approached to to ask if my son can use the restroom. She proceeded texting on her phone and didn't even turn around, but said, "it was closed for 'corporate". Just the interaction and acknowledgement was very minimal and felt rude so we left. I'm a returning customer and was waiting outside for 10 nutes for them to open. The asian girl stopped me out of everyone and wouldn't wouldnt allow my friendly dog to enter even though I was running in quick just to pick up my medication. They have lost my respect and loyalty. Safe to say, I will be leaving CVS going back to Rite Aid EVEN though it's farther away, because they are more tolerating and kind. Just ran in, because I had a lil time before my appointment. I've never been in this particular CVS before. They are fairly new, I believe less than a year. The store is a nice size and it is extremely clean. The aisle are nice and wide and all the shelves are stocked nicely. It's really quiet and not busy at all. They only have one register open and the Manager is visible to assist if needed. I like that. They have a cute little photo area where you can do your own photos. That's different! The young lady that is working the register is friendly and she seems to be knowledgeable about the store. She says they have only been opened since last April. So they are coming up on a year. They are located on the corner of Mack Rd and LA Macha right off hwy 99 South. A nice busy business area. I like the feel and the atmosphere here, very peaceful. I'm sure I will visit again. read more

The pharmacy sucks. I called in to see if my prescription is ready and they said it will be in 15 minutes. I came exactly at 15 minutes and they didn't have it ready. I can understand if I have to wait an extra 5-10 minutes. But I had to wait at the store for over 45 minutes. Like just set realistic timeframes. My PCP prescribed sleeping pills 25 mg, Pharmacist gave me 50 mg enclosed in a white paper bag stapled with it were sheets of informations after which I went home only to find out that in it was a bottle with a higher dosage as opposed to the prescribed dose. I called CVS located at Mack Road but was unable to anymore. I called the pharmacy the next morning spoke to Tanya instead of being apologetic she spoke unconcerned, suggested to split the tablet with a knife which is impossible because of the size of the tablet. I showed assertiveness in this matter to no avail. I called my doctor but missed her return call, suggested that I call her back MONDAY next week ( her clinic is close on Fridays. Please do not get your medications here!! Left the doctors ran some errands and came to pick up my prescription 4 hours later. I was told at the pick up window that they were busy and to come back tomorrow. I came back the next day around 10:30 and the lady at the window said they were still working on it SMH. I grew really frustrated at this point and told her I been waiting since yesterday. She went back spoke to somebody then said we will get it ready right now. This place is so unorganized!!!! The pharmacy staff are very nice and capable people. I cannot speak, and they quickly learned who I was, and what exactly to expect when I come thru dtive-thru. It takes patience on the part of both parties, for a good experience to occur. My only complaint (aside from some absurdly long waits in the drive they), is that the hours posted on the web site are wrong. The pharmacy closes at 7, maybe 8. I'm not sure, but to be safe, don't go after 7. Again, nice, knowledgeable folks, working a difficult job during the pandemic. I expect patience, so I give patience. read more

My parents go to CVS at Mack rd pharmacy all the time, today we went to drive through around 8:35pm, there was one more car ahead of us. It took the pharmacist full 25 minutes to serve the customer ahead of us. When I drove in it was barely 9 pm and the rude Asian pharmacists said " oh we are closed" I was like are you kidding me, I have been waiting there for full 25 minutes. I'm new to the area and should have checked the reviews before wasting 36 minutes making 2 phone calls to their pharmacy. I called at 9:15am and was on hold for 16 minutes. Someone answered the phone and didn't give me time to respond before hanging up. I called back and was told I'd be on hold 3-4 minutes. 20 minutes later a gal answers only to tell me they wouldn't be able to give me a timeframe as to when my prescription would be filled. After being in an accident this is not what you want to hear from your local pharmacy. I will now have to find better service further away from my home. I love these guys. The pharmacist, Ryan, is super friendly and nice, Jamie (who also works in the pharmacy) is very caring and friendly too, and the rest of the staff is great.
